Need help with animation that triggers on MouseEvent

I have four movieclips on a stage that when you roll over any of them it triggers another movie clip on the stage to play from a certain frame.
In this instance plaz is a movieclip, mcTher is the movie clip I am trying to get to play through its animation.
Here is the code for one of the clips the others are nearly identical.

The problem I am experiencing is after rolling in and out of buttons for a short period one of the movie clips will freeze on frame 5
msg will;
     either stop getting passed all together
     or
     will only be passed on the the rollover event of the last clip I rolled over
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What this will involve is a movieclip/timeline containing images showing the sequence of the motion (like the frames of a movie film) and a Slider component that changes the frame of that movieclip/timeline based on its position.

You could edit the looks of the Slider component if you like by doubleclicking it and the inner parts you want to modify, or you could create one of your own if you have enough know-how to code it to work.

Need help with animation, for my XAML game

Hello friends,
I need help in creating animation for my snake and ladder game(C#,XAML). I have completed the game logic, but can't understand how to animate my UI.
1. I want to animate 6 dice images so that when the player clicks on the Roll Dice Button a shuffle animation will play, and while the animation is playing the user can't click any thing.
2. I want the player disc to move one step at a time (animation) on the game board.

I need help with animation, PLEASE help!

I am trying to create pacman animation by using a series of filled arcs that I create by coding in java. I know how to create the arcs, but I don't know how to use them to create animation. In other words I don't know how to put them in sequence to create animation.
I have searched the web, and all I find is animation that use a series of GIF or JPEG images.
can you please help me or point me to the right direction.
by the way, which of these two animation would run faster? The one that uses GIF images, or the one that would use shapes created in java?

Perhaps you could do this two ways
One way, (im not sure if this will work), is to create a .gif file that is already animated. An open mouth animated to a closed mouth. But i don't know if Java will accept this.
The second way would be to create a Thread. And to create however many images you want to display the open to closed mouth. Then continuously change the image so it appears the mouth is opening and closing.
Put in a delay so it doens't go too fast, and there ya have it.

Need help with select that month range with flexible first date

I am trying to create a selection of month range (will be in a WITH clause) for a report to display monthly data. But the first month start date can be any date. (Not necessarily the first date of the month)

im given a period for the sake of this example lets say period 1 i get nothing else. I have to find the greates grant year grab the amount for period 14(which is the total from the previous year) and add it to the amount of the current period. in this case period 1 grnt_year 11
so the expected outcome should be $700

because the greatest year is 11 it contains a period 0 with amount of $400 so my total should be
period 2 amount $ 600
period 0 amount $ 400 - period 2 amount of $600 = 200
600+200 = $800
if i query period 1 of grant 360055 i would just end up with 800 of grnt year 10.
i have tried to modify that query you supplied to me with no luck. I have tried for several day but im embarrased to say i just can get it to do what im trying to do .

I created an animated gif in photoshop cs3 with combination of text and images in Mac. For some reason, the text on the banner looks fuzzy on Internet Explorer. Do any of you know what is wrong with the banner? Can anyone help me on this?

How does it look in Firefox on Windows? By only testing one browser on Windows, you cannot determine if it is a matter of the browser or the overall settings for the computer.
Do you have a page to share so that we can see the fuzziness or can you post the GIF file here?

Need help with buttons that react to rollover that create a scoll effect

hey everyone,
I'm new to flash and actionscript and am having trouble
creating what I need. I want to create a scroll area that scrolls
left and right when you rollover a left or right arrow. what I want
to scroll looks like a piece of film negative that has about 20
thumbnails in it. I only want it to show about 4 thumbs at once
though (thus the scroll is needed). so when the mouse rolls over
the arrows, it scrolls, and when it rolls out it stops in place.
eventually, i will add links to the thumbs for a better image.
I've checked out a couple tutorials on scrollbars and such
thinking that I can just go in and modify the code a bit, but the
two turorials i've tried to do have left some of the pieces out...
not very helpful when you don't know actionscript well. does
anybody have any tips or ideas?

What I did, I took a variable 'counter123' and assign '0' value to this variable.
I then added a button with Advanced action, I am sharing the Screenshot of the advanced action panel.

Incrementing the Value on click :
The value of the variable should increase on every click, so lets add a true statement as a condition.
Screenshot no 2 :
As normally on buttons/click boxes, the project will continue as soon we click them.
lets compare the value of our variable and then pause the project.

last if our purpose is solved, here we have clicked the button 4 times, so that has updated the value of our counter to 4, so as soon as the counter exceeds the value, we want the project to continue.

This will help you in pressing a button 4 times, and i think you can also add actions to show and hide 'zeros' in your project.

Need Help With Redirect That Uses Session Variable

I am new to dynamic sites, php, and developer toolbox, but I have been able to create a login site using the different form wizards fairly easily (in CS3 with Developers toolbox).
 
 I am trying to set a server behavior on a page that redirects the user to a new page if a session variable matches a recordset.
 
 I was using an extension (PHP Sessions - http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/exchange/index.cfm?event=extensionDetail&extid=681308 ) that worked great, but when I installed developers toolbox, it stopped working (get error message about runtime/MX environment).
 
 Ive been struggling for days and this is what Ive come up with so far:

Need help with formula that puts values in Field1 based on value of field2

I have two custom fields in the Contact record - Date met and Time Known. Date met is a standard date field that is entered by the user. I then wanted Time Known to automatically populate with specific values based on a formula I wrote. However, the formula/function is not working properly.
I'm also not sure if this should be a pre or post field formula, field validation, or workflow. Please help! Here's the formula I have so far. It worked for a new record created, but now doesn't work at all for some reason (probably from my testing).

This says the following:
If Date Met is less than 365 from today, then enter "Less than One Year" into the Time Known field;
if date met is less than 1095 (but greater than 365) days from today, then enter "One to Three Years"
if date met is less than 1825 (but greater than 1095) days from today, then enter "Three to Five Years"
if date met is less than 3650 (but greater than 1825) days from today, then enter "Five to Ten Years"
otherwise, enter "Ten Plus Years" for all values greater than 3650.
What am I doing wrong? I'm new to expressions and formulas in Oracle.

Hi, You have to do @ 2 places. For setting the field value @ the time of creating a new record using the field default feature. Check post default as the calculated value is dependent on some other field that you are going to set @ the time of creation. For updating the field whenever the record is modified, use workflows

I need help with animating a walk cycle

I have a person created and have a script that helps everything move right I am just having trouble getting the walk cycle to look and act properly. I want to use the loopOut expression to use this composition in another movie. Any help offerend would be greatly appreciated.

Mylenium is correct, I've animated quite a few walk cycles in various different techniques and all I can say is that each technique is so radically different it really just depends on how and what you're trying to achieve. Not only that, the quality of the movement in the animation itself so much depends on the feeling and story you're trying to get across. What looks wrong to someone, might look right to someone else. You might want a totally weird walk cycle for your character becuase that might tell the audience something completely different about who and what they are. Without seeing anything there's no possible way to advise. In the meantime, I highly recommend looking at a hand-drawn film from 1978 called "Satiemania" by Zdenko Gasparovic. The beginning is all walk cycles of different types and I think it could be inspiring for any character animator who's interested in animating walk cycles.

Need help with laptop that won't start up

I have a Toshiba c655 laptop that had some viruses on it; *thought* I'd fixed it and all was well. When I turned off and re-started the computer, the screen showed "Toshiba Innovations", and at the bottom the options of pressing F2 for startup or F12 for boot manager...this screen is quickly replaced by a black screen with a white cursor in the top left hand corner. When I hit F2 or F12 and go to those screens, I'm not computer savvy enough to know what options (if any) I should choose that might help me to get this thing started....seems nothing happens with any of the buttons I push. The scenario I just described is the only thing this computer will do now. Any help? Thank you so much!

it sounds like missing system/boot files on hdd
1. try to press f2 during toshiba screen to go in bios and load default settings.
2. press f12 and select boot from cd if you have system rapair disk...or any live cd to backup your files
3. the last option ... press 0 on toshiba screen for system recovery...this will delete all information

Need help with animated JLabel

I've created an animated extension of the JLabel which imitates a "typewriter" effect. It works smoothly for single-line labels.
Here is a basic pseudo-code outline of how I went about doing it:

}The problem is, whenever It recognises an HTML line break (to make it a multi-line label), all of the text gets bumped up. Here's a rough animation showing my animated label and a regular jlabel...

As you can see, once the line breaks are added to the animated label's text, all the text is moved up. This creates a choppy scrolling effect, something I'm trying to avoid at the moment.
Any ideas on how I could keep the animated text in a fixed position, so it doesn't scroll up like this?
I can provide source code if needed.

Ah yes, my bad. I tried it now but realised I have tried it before, and it doesn't work. i never increments and so it prints the first character every time the timer fires instead. Here is a SSCCE:

Need help with jsp that uses a java program

Hi, sorry for my english but i am italian.
I've got a problem: i use java builder and i have a java program(this program has got a main and includes libraries) about graphich on tree, this program visualizes these trees and makes operations on these.
Now i must use JSP so that a client can see this program (this program is on the server) and can interact with it.
I can't use applet.I must use only jsp.
Who can tell me how can i start???

If you are not allowed to use an applet, then you are limited by what can be achieved with HTML in a browser.
You would have to figure out how to render it with HTML, then program your jsp to write out this html programatically.

Need help with document that turned into alias for Application

I'm trying to help my dad with a problem, not sure exactly what he did, but he had a page document in a documents folder on his desktop. He moved it into a *files folder* on his desktop. Somehow the document seems to have been turned into an alias for for his application folder. When I click on the file name, the document doesn't open, it opens up the Application folder.
I'm VERY new to Mac.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
