Need help with restore problem for itunes v 7.6.2

I just installed itunes version 7.6.2 and I plugged my ipod into my computer and hit the restore button so i can erase and redo my ipod. Then when I plugged my ipod into my computer my ipod is stuck on the restore mode and i can't see the information bar or the music bar under my ipod name. I can only upload music and eject my ipod. PLEASE HELP!!! this is so fustrating.
this is what the screen looks like when i click on my ipod or plug it in.

Minimize your iTunes, right click on your Desktop, click Properties, click the Settings tab. Increase your screen resolution to 1024 x 768. If it looks OK, click OK. You should be able to continue with your iPod.

  • Need help with getResource() problem under weblogic 6.1

    Hey all,
              I've got a serious problem that I can't figure out. This should be really
              simple - but it's alluding me. I have an ear file with a number of servlets
              inside it. This ear file also contains a resource that my servlets want to
              read from. This resource is located (within the ear file) at:
              "/content/structure/a.txt". The file contains raw ascii.
              To have my serlvet read from this file, I thought it would be as simple as:
              URL content =
              servlet.getServletContext().getResource("/content/structure/a.txt");
              // pw is an instance of PrintWriter
              pw.print(content.getContent());
              However, when I execute the above I get the following exception:
              java.lang.NullPointerException
              at
              java.net.URLConnection.stripOffParameters(URLConnection.java:1011)
              at java.net.URLConnection.getContentHandler(URLConnection.java:979)
              at java.net.URLConnection.getContent(URLConnection.java:581)
              OK, so fine - I figure that I'm new to this. The documentation for the URL
              class tells me there is another way around this. It says that rather then
              calling getContent() directly, I can open a stream on the URL and read from
              that, like so:
              URL content =
              servlet.getServletContext().getResource("/content/structure/scenario2resourc
              es.txt");
              FileInputStream fis = content.openStream();
              but when I do this I get the following different exception:
              java.lang.ClassCastException: weblogic.utils.zip.SafeZipFileInputStream^M
              at Utility.writeFileToOutput(Utility.java:134)^M
              Apparently this thing is trying to return a web-logic-specific stream (which
              is incompatible with an FileInputStream) - which I don't want to use or
              learn about since I want my stuff to work under other webservers.
              Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? This should be simple.

    Wenjin,
              I appreciate your response. I tried treating it as a normal InputStream -
              but it didn't make any difference. Here's what I did:
              URL content =
              servlet.getServletContext().getResource("/content/structure/scenario2resourc
              es.txt");
              InputStream is = (InputStream)content.getContent();
              And here's the exception:
              java.lang.NullPointerException^M
              at
              java.net.URLConnection.stripOffParameters(URLConnection.java:1011)^M
              at
              java.net.URLConnection.getContentHandler(URLConnection.java:979)^M
              at java.net.URLConnection.getContent(URLConnection.java:554)^M
              at java.net.URL.getContent(URL.java:807)^M
              at Utility.writeFileToOutput(Utility.java:134)^M
              You can see that it is definitely breaking somewhere in getContent().
              If you have any other ideas, I'd appreciate hearing about them.

  • Need help with daq problem

    Hi,
    I need to generate a clock with a period of 20 micro seconds, duty cycle of
    approx 20% and a data line as well as an address line all linked to the clock
    pulse.
    I have tried many different solutions, all using the Daq PCI-1200 but nothing
    seems to work correctly. Usually the system bombs and I have to do a manual
    reset to over come the problem.
    Any suggestions?
    Ken

    You'll need an external clock, expecially under Windows.
    Windows ticks with appr. 18 Hz, and the CPU tick isn't always available
    when Windows tasks multi.

  • Need Help with Scrolling Problem

    I have a JTree displayed in scrollpane. Based on search criterial I select the nodes where the search criteria is found. If the match is located off the screen further down into the tree, the node is highlighted but the scrollpane doesn't automatically scroll down to show it. Any help with this problem is appreciated.

    Wow.. Thanks. I thought I would need some fancy code to handle this problem. scrollPathToVisible did it for me. Thanks.

  • Need help with calculator project for an assignment...

    Hi all, I please need help with my calculator project that I have to do for an assignment.
    Here is the project's specifications that I need to do"
    """Create a console calculator applicaion that:
    * Takes one command line argument: your name and surname. When the
    program starts, display the date and time with a welcome message for the
    user.
    * Display all the available options to the user. Your calculator must include
    the arithmetic operations as well as at least five scientific operations of the
    Math class.
    -Your program must also have the ability to round a number and
    truncate it.
    -When you multiply by 2, you should not use the '*' operator to perform the
    operation.
    -Your program must also be able to reverse the sign of a number.
    * Include sufficient error checking in your program to ensure that the user
    only enters valid input. Make use of the String; Character, and other
    wrapper classes to help you.
    * Your program must be able to do conversions between decimal, octal and
    hex numbers.
    * Make use of a menu. You should give the user the option to end the
    program when entering a certain option.
    * When the program exits, display a message for the user, stating the
    current time, and calculate and display how long the user used your
    program.
    * Make use of helper classes where possible.
    * Use the SDK to run your program."""
    When the program starts, it asks the user for his/her name and surname. I got the program to ask the user again and again for his/her name and surname
    when he/she doesn't insert anything or just press 'enter', but if the user enters a number for the name and surname part, the program continues.
    Now my question is this: How can I restrict the user to only enter 'letters' (and spaces of course) but allow NO numbers for his/her surname??

    Now my question is this: How can I restrict the user to only enter 'letters' (and spaces of course) but allow NO numbers for his/her surname??You cannot restrict the user. It is a sad fact in programming that the worst bug always sits in front of the Computer.
    What you could do is checking the input string for numbers. If it contains numbers, just reprompt for the Name.
    AND you might want to ask yourself why the heck a calculator needs to know the users Name.

  • Need Help With Restoring My Ipod, Problem seems Unique, please help.

    Hi, I have a mini as most of you others do as well. I will outline all the problems and the solutions I have taken to solve these problems, yet they have all failed.
    1) When trying to turn my IPOD on I run across the Folder with the Exclamation Point
    SOLUTIONS: I have tried to reset, and change the format of the drive, both have failed to solve the problem. When I try to connect the ipod to the computer (in disk mode and out of disk mode) it says The Ipod is corrupt it may need to be restored. So I restore the IPOD and it says Disconnect it and replug it into a power source (which I interpret as the wall charger). After I disconnect it (I have tried just disconnecting it when the menu restarts to the APPLE and disconnecting it by manually selecting the IPOD from the source list to disconnect after waiting) and plugging it into the wall charger I get the folder with the exclamation point again. It seems to be a cycle, and I don't know how to break it. If it is a faulty harddrive I guess I will try to replace it using the method outlined in other posts, but if I'm missing anything please let me know. Thank you.

    That's the faulty drive/OS indicator.
    If restoring the iPod from iTunes doesn't work, it's likely that the drive has died and needs to be replaced.
    It's a fairly easy task with the proper tools.

  • I need help with Restoring my iPod. =/

    Okay, so I put music on my iPod using WinAmp, right? Well, the music was unorganized and the quality was terrible, so I downloaded iTunes and transferred the music to iTunes from WinAmp. I also wanted to restore my iPod so I could re-add the music files to it.
    NOW, iTunes tells me that my iPod is in recovery mode and needs to be restored. So I restore it, and it STILL tells me it needs to be restored. I swear, I've "restored" this thing like eleven times.
    Oh, and to add to the problem, it's suddenly telling me that my iPod has encountered a problem while restoring itself by an "unknown error"
    *PLEAE HELP!* I would give you everything I own if I knew you personally, I just want my music. lol

    Have you had a chance to look at this troubleshooting page? If not, have a look at the bottom section that covers what to try if the message keeps reappearing: iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode - Use iTunes to restore
    Towards the end it says "If after restoring your iPod, the message described above reappears, the iPod drive letter may need to be reassigned. See the "Change the Drive Letter" section of this document for steps to assign a different drive letter" which contains a link to this article: Windows confuses iPod with network drive and iTunes may exhibit strange behavior in relation to the iPod.

  • Need help with PC build for use with Photoshop CS4 Extended - Have I made the right choices?

    Hello,
    I'm very new to the inner workings of a PC...this will be first time building one from scratch.  I know enough to be dangerous but not enough to be confident.  I will use the PC primarily for editing, secondarily for iTunes management.  I've heard that I should have, at the very least, an SSD for PS, other apps and the O/S.  I'll also have a hard drive for data storage.  Do I need yet another SSD for scratch?  If so, any recs for one?  Also, my current build (which does not include any SSDs) is about $800.  What can I skinny down, without sacrificing a huge amount of speed/performance?  I am looking for major guidance here...I'm ready to order, but I keep second-guessing my choices.  I want to make sure I get this right the first time around.  I want this machine to last me a good long while.  Any help at all will be HUGELY appreciated!

    Thanks!
    Andrea

    Make sure the motherboard is the third revision as the earlier two had problems with the i5-2500K (Sandy Bridge)
    I prefer Asus motherboards but doesn't mean the Gigabyte is a problem. (I note that it scored 4 eggs...)
    May not make a difference in Photoshop but for Premiere the Geforce video cards with GDDR5 are preferred.
    The LiteOn iHas 224 does lightscribe which is a nice touch for clients/gifts.
    There is no room to save as I would consider your build minimum specs for a nice photoshop experience.
    As for SSD drives...my research of reviews and articles makes me feel the technology is not ready for mission critical work. So if you are running a business then I recommend not using SSD drives. Rather look at Raptor 10,000 rpm drive for Windows and Photoshop and use the Spinpoint for storage. If not business then I've read the intel x25 SSD drives are solid but I have no personal experience with them.

  • Need help with a problem after cloning my HD....

    I recently cloned my HD to a backup drive. I did an erase and install of Tiger on my original drive. I recently cloned everything back onto my original drive from my backup drive. Now when I go to boot up on my original drive, for the first time ever I must type a Username and Password to log on to the computer. Trouble with this is, I tried my username and password and it would not work. I double, triple, quadruple checked my spelling and tried different combinations just in case i was being stupid, NOPE. It won't let me log on to my main HD. Can anyone help with this?

    Let me get this straight. You did
    1: Cloned your original boot drive to a external - not a problem
    (did you boot from the clone to check it out?, did you use cloning software or???)
    2: You erased your original boot drive - ok no problem.
    3: You then installed Tiger on your original boot drive - ok no problem there
    4: But you cloned from your clone back onto your original, freshly installed Tiger drive?
    Why did you do this?
    Cloning copies the whole drive, all the little hidden stuff, copy protection etc.
    That's why it's called a clone.
    Did you mean to say you copied certain folders/files from the clone onto the new Tiger install on your original boot drive?
    What folders/files was these?
    You need to copy the contents of certain folders inside your User folder, not the folders themselves.
    What software did you use to clone with?

  • Not exactly iweb - need help with a graphic for my site

    This doesn't fit anywhere so dumping it here. I drew by hand a graphic I want to use with iweb to put on my site as my site's logo. Main problem is that getting the background transparent isn't working well as when it was scanned the scanner didn't back the background "pure" white. I have tried adjusting the whitepoint and setting the color depth down, but still no good. I don't know a ton about graphic program use. I have an older copy of graphic converter that came on this powerbook when i got it. I would be fine having the graphic loose the marker look and have solid fill colors - just I am not good enough with computer drawing tools to do it on the computer! So I either need to get a volunteer to help me out, or some help with some detailed instructions to get this to work out... (also I am broke so no cost/shareware is only option here)
    many thanks!!!!
    I can get you a scanned jpg of the pic if needed.

    THANK YOU/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png so the tolerance makes it not care so much about the gradations in color? what else is tolerence good for?
    I have a cleaner copy now after someone suggested GIMP, so played with it last night - though couldn't figure out transparency - that was clear on converter- just not cooperative till these wonderful directions.
    So now I know how to do it without messing with the pic, and with messing with it - both good lessons and got a bit brighter color out of the deal.
    many thanks for the straightforward and clear directions, they worked perfectly/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png extra strars for you/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png

    2. create java program that will translate the input from numbers to words. e.g. input:123 output: one hundred twenty-three.
    i have an idea to use a switch case statement. but i have no idea on how will i be able to do it. so if you guys can help me.. well then thankies..

    Welcome to the Sun forums. First, please note that you have posted in the wrong forum. This forum is for topics related to Sun's JavaHelp product. You should post your questions in the New to Java forum.
    As part of your learning, you will have to develop the ability to select an approach to a problem, create a design that reflects that approach, and then implement the design with code that you create.
    So, it's inappropriate for us to take the problem statement that you have been given and short-circuit your learning process by giving you the implemented problem solution. We can comment on the individual questions that you may have, and point out problems and errors that we see in the code that you develop.
    As a hint, when you are stuck, forget about Java and programming. Just start with a sheet of paper and a pencil, and figure out how to layout the task on paper. The consider how to translate that to programming.
    If you have problems, post short example code that shows the problem, and explain your question clearly. We can't read minds.
    Make sure you post code correctly so that it's not mangled by the forum software, and so that formatting is maintained. Select your typed or pasted code block and press the CODE button above the typing area.

    You can simplify it a little by factoring out the date differences:WITH got_d     AS

    ,     SUM (CASE WHEN d = 62 THEN qty END)     AS day_62

    See the links I mentioned earlier for getting exactly the right number of columns, and dynamic column aliases.

  • Need help with serious problem

    Hi.
    I thought this was a simple problem, but it turned out to be more complicated than I thought.
    I have been experimenting with JFrames and found a problem when trying to disable the maximise button of a JFrame.
    The program starts up maximising the JFrame with the line of code below:
    setExtendedState(this.getExtendedState()|JFrame.MAXIMIZED_BOTH);
    This seems to be working fine, because it allow the application to start up full screen.
    The next line of code disables the resize button on the JFrame's TitleBar:
    setResizable(false);
    The problem is that when you dubble-click on the Titlebar of the application it responds when it is not suppose to do so.
    The program resizes everything to a minimum. Dubble-clicking on the TitleBar again, it won't allow a resize. It looks as if the program ignores the fact that the JFrame has been sized to full-screen, allowing the user to dubble-click on the application's TitleBar once. After that it is ignored completely.
    Have anyone experienced this before? Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Hi Keith,
    Thank you very much for such a quick reply....That's not an SSCCE, See below for an SSCCE... except it doesn't reproduce the problem (for me).
    Observered behaviour on Microsoft Windows [Version 6.0.6000] running java version "1.6.0_12" as Administrator is:
    1. The form opens in "normal" window state (NOT maximized or minimized).
    2. Clicking on the maximize button has no effect.
    3. Double clicking on the title-bar has no effect.
    So... I presume we're talking apples and oranges (or windows, as the case may be).
    Which O/S are you on, what version (distro & release) and what version of the JRE/JDK are you using (java -version, and javac -version respectively).
    Does the code I posted reproduce the issue on your machine?
    package forums;
    import javax.swing.JFrame;
    import java.awt.Toolkit;
    public class NonResizableMaximisedJFrame
      public static void main(String args[]) {
        JFrame frame = new JFrame("Application");
        //frame.setIconImage(Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getImage("TitleBar.gif"));
        frame.setDefaultCloseOperation( JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE );
        frame.setSize( 300, 200 );
        frame.setResizable(false);
        frame.setExtendedState( frame.getExtendedState() | JFrame.MAXIMIZED_BOTH );
        frame.setVisible(true);
