Need Info on File based TDMS refresh

HI,
In a landscape say we have ECC CRM and SRM systems and respective non-prod systems to be refreshed from production.
Requirement is , a friday 5PM PST we need to take data snap shot for all three systems , can we do it via File based TDMS refresh ?
Can i create this export file my self without BASIS help ?
Would like to explore FILE based refresh to see if we can optimize refresh process compared to RFC method.
I went through few SCN documents , kindly forward any you have and also share BKM's
regards
Vinay

Hi Amit,
Would like to check with you one last thing,
In my current scenario BASIS take data snap shot from prod and restore it in a separate server say TDMSECC and using this as sender system we refresh non prod.
Do you think using file based process can eliminate BASIS task of creating sender system ? and with minimal impact to prod  i can create export package ?
regards
Vinay

  • Need info on database based saved search in ADF

    Hi All,
    I am using jdev 11.1.1.6
    i have implemented database based saved search in my adf application.
    But after implementing it i am facing more performance related issues in my application.
    The page takes lot of time to load along with the previously saved results. Sometime the page is not responding even after a loading the results.
    Is there any option such that, i can save only the search criteria's alone instead of saving the result also for each saved searches.
    I assume ADF is querying separately for each saved search criteria's which is taking lot of time to load initially. So restricting this auto query will help to load the page quickly.
    some one please tell me ideally how ADF will behave in saved search and how to implement saved search based on DB without any performance issue.
    Regards
    Siva

    We are also encountering the same . Once we save criterias and set any of the saved criterias as default, then its not allowing us to select any other criterias or personalize existing criterias.
    we are using ADF 11.1.1.5 And we implemented saved search using accross sessions and storing the values in MDS by Running RCU in EM

  • Need to launch specific document and wave file based on the inbound Route Point

    I am having issues using CDA in terms of creating the appropriate WF to launch both a wave file and specific Word document based on the inbound DNIS.  I have UCCX 8.0(2) SU3 enhanced so I can't use HTTP.  I really need a solution today.  Thanks.

    I did script to play the file to the agent as a whisper then hang up and ring the line again to connect the caller to the agent but the customer didn't like that at all so i just created the WF to launch from the same filepath on all machines to point the the appropriate wave files based on the DNIS.  Because the customer has enhanced I'm not launching the Word docs as PDFs in a integrated browser like I'd prefer but as an external application.  Again, based on the DNIS.

  • File Based Multithreaded Web Server Question

    Hi friends,
    I have the code of a simple File Based Multithreaded Web Server. I have been asked to add proper http/1.1 Keep-Alive behavior to it. As far as I understand it means to use the same socket for the request coming from the same client without opening a new socket for every request by it. I am unable to implement it. While trying to troubleshoot, I found "default-keystore.jks" is going missing in $DOMAIN_HOME/config/fmwconfig. and jps-config.xml in $DOMAIN_HOME/config/fmwconfig is using this file. Not sure if that is the issue and if so not sure how to create one or need to be copied from some other location

  • Split records into two files based on lookup table

    Hi,
    I'm new to ODI and want to know on how I could split records into two files based on a value in one of the columns in the table.
    Example:
    Table:
    my columns are
    account name country
    100 USA
    200 USA
    300 UK
    200 AUS
    So from the 4 records I maintain list of countries in a lookup file and split the records into 2 different files based on values in the file...
    Say I have records AUS and UK in my lookup file...
    So my ODI routine should send all records with country into file1 and rest to file2.
    So from above records
    File1:
    300 UK
    200 AUS
    File2:
    100 USA
    200 USA
    Can you help me how to achieve this?
    Thanks,
    Sam

    1. where and how do i create filter to restrict countries? In source or target? Should I include some kind of filter operator in interface.
    You need to have the Filter on the Source side so that we can filter records accordingly the capture the same in the File. To have a Filter . In the source data store click and drag the column outside the data store and you will have Cone shaped icon and now you can click and type the Filter.
    Please look into this link for ODI Documentation -http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/data-integrator/documentation/index.html
    Also look into this Getting started guide - http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15985_01/doc.10136/getstart/GSETL.pdf . You can find information as how to create Filter in this guide.
    2. If I have include multipe countries like (USA,CANADA,UK) to go to one file and rest to another file; Can I use some kind of lookup file...? Instead of modifying filter inside interface...Can i Update entries in the file?
    there are two ways of handling your situation.
    Solution 1.
    1. Create Variable Country_Variable
    2. Create a Filter in the Source datastore in the First Interface ( SOURCE.COLUMN = #Country_Variable)
    3. Create a new Package Country File Unload
    4. Call the Variable in Country_Variable in Set Mode and provide the Country (USA )
    5. Next call the First Interface
    6. Next call the Second Interface where the Filter condition will be ( SOURCE.COLUMN ! = #Country_Variable )
    7. Now run the package .
    Solution 2.
    If you need a solution to handle through Filer.
    1. Use this Method (http://odiexperts.com/how-to-refresh-odi-variables-from-file-%E2%80%93-part-1-%E2%80%93-just-one-value ) to call the File where you wish to create store the country name into the variable Country_Variable
    2. Pretty much the same Create a Filter in the Source datastore in the First Interface ( SOURCE.COLUMN = #Country_Variable)
    3.Create a new Package Country File Unload
    4.Next call the Second Interface where the Filter condition will be ( SOURCE.COLUMN ! = #Country_Variable )
    5. Now run the package .
    Now through this way using File you can control the File.
    Please try and let us know , if you need any other help.

  • Sharepoint Visio Services .vdw file not getting refreshed

    Hello,
    I recently imported an orgchart in visio from (sql server table, excel sheet) that created shapes for me. And I can publish the file as .vdw on a sharepoint library and it works fine over there. But I wanted to refresh the data as the data in sql table
    or excel sheet chages. So I linked to datasource on visio to excel sheet(saved on sharepoint same library where the .vdw file is) and did automatically link the shapes with the external data. Refresh works fine on the visio file. But after I publish to sharepoint(in
    the publish settings datasource is selected) as vdw file, and I make some changes to excel file, and click refresh on the vdw file viewed in browser I dont see any data changes. I tried several different ways like connecting to data connection library pointing
    to sql table etc. Nothing seems to refresh the data in vdw file. Am I missing something? Appreciate help.
    thank you.
    rani

    Hi,
    I understand that you failed to refresh Visio Services .vdw file.
    It is a configuration problem in Central Administration.
    You need to create Target Application and associate it with Visio Services.
    Here is a similar blog for your reference:
    http://sharepointsolutions.com/sharepoint-help/blog/2010/10/visio-services-wont-refresh-in-sharepoint-2010how-to-fix-it/
    If the issue still exists, I recommend to log into Central Administration, clicked on the SharePoint Health Analyzer and see the issues.
    In addition, you can check the SharePoint ULS log to find more information about this error, the ULS log file is in the location: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server
    Extensions\14\LOGS
    You can check the ULS log by the methods here:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/opal/archive/2009/12/22/uls-viewer-for-sharepoint-2010-troubleshooting.aspx

  • Pick up Files based on Timestamp???.

    HI All,
    Is it possible to pick up the files in the order of which they are put in a shared folder ?.
    Our client system will put the xml files in a shared folder with timestamps..PI will pick these files one by one..but if the PI server is down.. the files will keep coming in the shared folder from the client system..and when PI come back up they need to be picked in the order in which they have been put according to timestamp.
    I'am using the NFS functionality.
    I dont want to output files from PI based on timestamp added.. I want to pick files up based upon sender timestamp.
    Is this funcationality supported in PI?.
    Thanks.

    HI
    You can write script to do this. Script can copy files based on time stamp from the folder where client system is putting the file to the folder PI is poling based on timestamp.
    With this as Ratan said. If the file creation date for file system is in date and time format(timestamp) File processing sequence by Date can help. It process file starting from oldest file.
    Thanks
    Gaurav

  • Oracle SQL Developer  error - "The file-based source procedure Name is not present in the database."

    I recently started working on the Oracle SQL developer. I have 'select' privileges on the QA schema and when tried to execute proc in QA. It is giving the error as 'The file-based source <procedure Name>  is not present in the database.  Was it compiled?'
    instead 'you do not have sufficient privileges to execute this procedure'. Did research on internet but with no luck.What configuration changes needed to be done to make it work.Guide me.

    Sounds like you do not have the correct privileges.  What should have been granted to you by the QA user, or some other user with appropriate privileges, is...
    grant EXECUTE on "QA"."<PROCEDURE_OF_INTEREST>" to "<YOUR_USERID>" ;
    Note that a grant of execute on a procedure has nothing to do with grants of select on some or all of QA's tables and views.
    So, as Vadim suggests, from your connection node in SQL Developer's Connections view, if you expand the Other Users node, then expand QA and look in the Procedures node, do you see the procedure of interest?  If not, you cannot expect to be able to execute it from your userid's connection. And even if you do see it, you may have some other privilege that permits viewing but not executing, like...
    The role SELECT_CATALOG_ROLE
    The system privilege SELECT ANY DICTIONARY
    And even if you do not see it there, then having certain other privileges granted to you could permit executing it in general, like...
    The role EXECUTE_CATALOG_ROLE
    The system privilege EXECUTE ANY PROCEDURE
    Also, note that the 3.0 release is a bit dated nowadays. Upgrading to 4.0.3 production or even the 4.1 EA2 (early adopter) release will, in general, give you a better experience.
    Best wishes,
    Gary

       The ScriptMain is the entry point class of the script.

    using System.Data;
    using Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime;
    using System.Windows.Forms;

            The execution engine calls this method when the task executes.
            To access the object model, use the Dts property. Connections, variables, events,
            and logging features are available as members of the Dts property as shown in the following examples.
            To reference a variable, call Dts.Variables["MyCaseSensitiveVariableName"].Value;
            To post a log entry, call Dts.Log("This is my log text", 999, null);
            To fire an event, call Dts.Events.FireInformation(99, "test", "hit the help message", "", 0, true);
            To use the connections collection use something like the following:
            ConnectionManager cm = Dts.Connections.Add("OLEDB");
            cm.ConnectionString = "Data Source=localhost;Initial Catalog=AdventureWorks;Provider=SQLNCLI10;Integrated Security=SSPI;Auto Translate=False;";
            Before returning from this method, set the value of Dts.TaskResult to indicate success or failure.
            To open Help, press F1.
            public void Main()
                string file = Dts.Variables["User::FolderName"].Value.ToString();
                string[] files = System.IO.Directory.GetFiles(Dts.Variables["User::FolderName"].Value.ToString());
                System.IO.FileInfo finf;
                DateTime currentDate = new DateTime();
                string lastFile = string.Empty;
                foreach (string f in files)
                    finf = new System.IO.FileInfo(f);
                    if (finf.CreationTime >= currentDate)
                        currentDate = finf.CreationTime;
                        lastFile = f;
                Dts.Variables["User::LastFile"].Value = lastFile;

  • How do I import Map Info Tab files into Spatial for a map of europe?

    How do I import Map Info Tab files into Spatial for a map of europe via FME and have oracle spatial draw the map without problems?
    So far I've got to the stage where I can import the data, spatially index it (in oracle 9i) and get my SVG (scaleable vector graphics) application to view the map.
    The problem is that countries that have more than one polygon (more than one row in the database) do not draw properly.
    When I view the Map Info tab file in the FME viewer I can see that the data is fine, but I can also see that some of the polygons used to draw a country are donugts and some aren't.
    This seems to cause a problem when I import the data into oracle spatial as I don't know if a row in the table needs to be inserted as an independent SDO_GEOMETRY or if it should form part of a larger SDO_GEOMETRY (as in 2 or more rows make up the polygon shape for a country).
    I have a feeling that I'm not using FME correctly, because at the moment I have to import the tab file into Oracle then re-insert the data into a spatially formatted table (one with a spatial index) - I get the impression that FME should do that for me but as I'm new to this I don't really know.
    Any Help welcome :|
    Tim

    Tim,
    MapInfo has a free utility called EasyLoader that allows you to upload a table directly to Oracle. EasyLoader creates the geometries and spatial index. You can download it free from http://www.mapinfo.com/products/download.cfm?ProductID=1044

  • Problem using file based JNDI with JMS Bridge, WL 6.1sp3

              I am trying to connect an MQ queue to a Weblogic JMS queue using the JMS bridge,
              WLS6.1sp3. I have the CR081404_61sp3.jar and CR081511_61sp3.jar patches.
              I am having trouble getting the bridge to look up the MQ queue in the file based

    CR081511_61sp3.jar patch should fix the problem. Make sure that the
              jar file is picked up. It should be put before other weblogic jar files.
              You should be able to tell if it is picked up by looking at the first
              couple of lines of your server log file.

  • Dynamic file names on file based  processing

    Hi Experts
    we are doing file to file scenario using file based processing not on message based ( No Reposiitory Objects - No mapping , no interface objects ).
    we need to pickup the file name from the source directory and place it in the target directory with the same file names.
    the source file name is added with the time stamp and client number,
    Since there no mapping , we can't use the dynamic file concepts.
    Please help me with the possible solutions
    thnz for the help in advance.
    Cheers
    Faheem

    Hi Faheem,
    You will be using the dynamic config when u want to map the input file name to a field in the target message.
    As per ur requirement ASMA will do :
    try this:
    In both the sender and receiver file adapters , select Adapter Specific Identifiers and File Name
    In the receiver file adapter give some dummy value for file name and directory.
    In the runtime, the source file name and directory will be used as the target file name and directory.
    You need not use any UDF or a mapping here
    Hope it helps!!!!!!!!
