I had created a custom program and assigned it to a custom output type. while processing this output type through VF01(billing doc) it is generating an error saying commit_in_posting. can anyone suggest in this regard........

1Check for VF01 is there any control routine written for this output type which blocks it from triggering this output.
2. are there any condition records maintained which are creating problems.
3 check the out put poecedures aslo....

A couple of thoughts in no particular order.
1. Read the FAQ and learn how to use { code } tags to post a readable listing
2. Your version number is (all decimal points)
3. Provide DDL for the table
4. Provide INSERT statements with sample data
5. This is horrifying
START_TIME > '01-AUG-2011' Dates are dates ... not strings. Best case you have an implicit conversion ... worst case a statement that will return invalid results. Either change the data type or do an explicit cast with TO_DATE.

Update LIKP table while saving the output type in VT02N transaction

Hi All,
I have a requirement where i have to update Delivery Priority(LPRIO) field in LIKP table while saving the output type in VT02N transaction. I am not able to use the BAPI "BAPI_OUTB_DELIVERY_CHANGE" or FM "WS_DELIVERY_UPDATE" because, when we save the output type the programs that are configured in NACE are triggered in update mode and hence i will get a roll back error.
Let me know other ways of updating the table at the time of saving output type for shipment transaction VT02N.

This could be a result of one of the following reasons:
1: Incorrect smart form/routine assigned in the output configuration (NACE)
2: Serial number range of the delivery expired
3: The default settings of the user (SU01) processing the delivery is missing the default printer name.

Check disk for errors caused data lost

in the past few weeks i was hearing some weired sounds coming from my laptop, so a friend recommended using "check disk local for errors"
it took a few hours. but when it finished, i found out that i lost 7GB of data (movies,images,pdf.....) from my USER folder but disk c; didn't gain any free space, which means that i still have my files but they are hidden somewhere.
-could someone please tell me how to retrieve them?¿?¿¡¡¡

This is an indication your HDD has bad sectors. This is the loss of the magnetic properties of the platter and cannot be fixed by Windows. Suggest you replace you HDD As Soon As Possible (ASAP).
You may be able to rescue the existing data by using a professional HDD data recovery utility or service but there is no guarantee your HDD data can be rescued.

Output type not created for outbound delivery while using SHMNT05 idoc type

Hi Experts,
Please help me to solve the below issue.
Problem:- I want to to generate an IDOC(using type SHPMNT06) once the PGI is done for an outbound delivery.
Already it is working fine when used DESADV.DESADV01 or DESADV.DELVRY07. But now the output type is not getting created when used SHMNT.SHPMNT06. I have created a separate output type ZPJ7 just as a mirror copy of the earlier output type(ZPJ6) used for DESADV.DELVRY07.
Question:- Is it possible to use idoc SHPMNT06 instead for DESADV01 or DELVRY07? If yes then what are steps to be followed?
The reason why SHPMNT06 idoc is planned:- We have a scenario to send outbound delivery to 3rd party system via XI. If the outbound delivery is for National(Not for Export) and PGI is completed then send the idoc straight forward to XI otherwise DO NOT generate the idoc, but just create the delivery. Collect all the deliveries in a transport and send it in a shipment. The shipment details can be sent using SHPMNT idoc. Now from XI perspective, if we can utlitze the same SHPMNT idoc for the National delivery(1st case) then perhaps this will require less effort. Hence shipment idoc is required to be generated when the delivery is created and PGI is done.
Also it would be great if you can advice some better way to solve above mentioned scenario.

There could be several reasons. Go to the document and in the extras-output check output determination analysis in the processing log.
If the output has been created successfully then you need to see your printer determination. Ask basis to check it up. If the problem is that even the print preview is not coming. Check your communication in the output analysis and ensure LOCL is selected. Any other printer will need to be configured.
If thats done already then check whether you have maintianed the condition record.
If that too is done then check whether your output type has been assigned to the output procedure and that the output type is listed in the procedure.

User exit in VF01 for plant validation while taking the output smartform

Hi Gurus,
I am in a typical situation..
We ahve a scenario where for one specific plant we need to trigger a different output type(smartform) where the billing type is being common for all plants...
example: billing type : A00 ( same for all plants)
              outout type (billing) : B00 ( one smartform)
                                             C00 (another smartform)
For all the plants, Boo triggers as the layout is same for all Except for One specific plant where it should trigger C00 i.e., different smartform i.e., layout...
Any user exit for validating Plant at the time of saving the billing document to trigger a different outout type as above for the same billing type ???

          You can do like this with out using User exit.
-->Take field Plant in to the output condition table
-->Put that condition table in to access sequence
-->Define two condition type as you mentioned B00 and C00
-->Assign access sequence to that condition types.
-->Put those output condition types in the output determination procedure.
-->Assign that output determination procedure to the billing type.
-->Main the condition records for that conditon types with one of the key combination PLANT

Another Vb.net program takes that file and reformat it to suit SAP and saves in our file server for pick up.
Now my client want to do it in using PI7.1

Need suggestions for concurrent reads while deleting all entities

Hello,
we need some suggestions for the following use case, as we cannot seem to find the correct transaction locking combination to meet our needs.
We are using BDB JE 4.1.10, and the entityStore is transactional. In a nutshell, BDB JE is used as a Cache for specific data that is pulled and updated regularly from a source Oracle DB. The application that holds BDB is a realtimel app, and response time is critical.
In order to avoid having to merge (Insert/update/delete) entities for some of the tables that are very static and small (a few hundred records that might change every day or so), we are trying to simply delete all records (with an EntityCursor loop, since there is no 'deleteAll' that we could find) and reinsert all data every 5 minutes, and then committing when the whole process is complete. This should always be very quick, but we are not immune to timeouts from the source Oracle DB, so the transaction can be long.
Ideally, while the delete/insert is happening, we want any concurrent read operations to return the old data (before the delete). We have made a test that locks the updater thread between the 'delete all' and 'update all' methods, so that the delete cursor is closed, but the Tx is not yet commited. We have tried the following for our reader thread:
1- If we get() a deleted entity with a LockMode.READ_UNCOMMITTED, we get a null entity back.
2- If we get() a deleted entity with LockMode.READ_COMMITTED, we get a LockTimeoutException.
We have also considered simply using truncate on the EntityStore, but this requires closing and reopening the DB, so this would not work for our need to always return a value, instantly.
Any ideas, suggestions on how we could do this in a simple manner?

I understand the issue you're describing.
I think the best performing solution by far is to load the new data into new databases while servicing reads from the old databases. When the load is complete, reads can be diverted to the new databases, and the old databases can then be removed.
Unfortunately, this is easier to do with the base API than with the DPL, because the DPL is managing the underlying (base API level) databases for you.
However, even using the DPL, this approach could be very straightforward if you happen to be keeping this data set (the one that needs to be reloaded) in a separate EntityStore, or you can change your application to do so. If so, you can create a new (empty) EntityStore with a different name and use this store for loading the new data. When the load is complete, divert reads to the new EntityStore object and remove all databases for the old EntityStore.
If this is impractical, please explain, and I'll try to suggest a different solution. If you cannot use a separate EntityStore for this particular data set, then the solution may be more complex.

My Doubt :- What exactly the role of ALPHA with a char type of charaterisctics. ??

Is validatin Test TP part of your data for one of your attribute. If so check whether this infoobject has lower cases checked in general tab. Or see to it that data is present in upper case.

Could you please give more information about the application that you are deploying?
- how do you deploy it?
- what is the packaging? EAR or WAR, how did you package it? (Jdev or other?)
- what are the different modules that you are using? (web apps, ejb, ...)
- can you run the application from JDeveloper if you are using it?

It is a synchronous scenario so you need to create the two message interfacess for the sender (one is for request message and another is for response message). For receiver you don't need to create any message interfaces, because the WSDL internally having the two messages (request and response).

Exception Handling for errors caused by Remote tables

Hello
I am trying to run a process that retrieves data from a remote table. Unfortunately occasionally the process fails because I exceed the number of simultaneous sessions allowed for the relevant table. I want to be able to handle this by directing the user to an errors page that I have built.
Unfortunately I cannot seem to be able to handle the exception. I have included an EXCEPTION WHEN OTHERS section but this does not seem to work.
Is it possible to handle these sort of errors? If it is possible I want to transfer this process into an asynchronous process so that the query can run in the background.

Need inputs for creating Jar file

Hi All,
I am doing the scenario as file to mail. so here i am using java mappings for sending the file in mail attachment.
as i can see in my system there are already one imported archive exists with name called "java_mappings".
in that i can find 10 to 12 mapings which are used for different interface.
i have tried to export the imported archive to my local system and created the project with same in NWDS.
but here i can not find jar file.
can anyone suggest how can i get jar file for already exist the imported archive.
second option is if i want to create new mappings then how can i get the Jar file.

Hi Bhaskar,
Jar file is an archive which consists of all class files needed by Java mapping. If you have a folder named Java_mapping and you guess that it is being used in different interfaces, then it should have the class files in it... may be the source code is missing...
I will suggest you to export it into your local machine and extract using winzip.. then you might see some file with .class extesnion. Try a tool like frontendplus which will make java code from java class file to get there code..
Now if you are trying to make one for your requirement i would suggest to read the stefan grube blog..

Also note that the java mapping is just a jar file which has:
1. the com.sap.xpi.ib.mapping.lib.jar (PI7.1) or aii_map_api.jar (PI7.0 or XI3.0) file
2. You java code class file.
