Need java bean links

Hi
I'm new to the Java Beans concept. I'm going through the documentation for EJB on Sun website, but I feel that it's not complete. I'm searching for some tutorial that expalins how to use Beans in Servlets and JSP pages. Please post some useful links on how to use Java Beans in web applications. Also please suggest some useful books in Java Beans which I can use for reference.

Thanks a lot for the information. But I have a doubt regarding hosting the Java Beans.
I'm using Apache Tomcat 5.0 for my Java Servlets and JSP pages. Can I use the same server to host Java Beans also ?. Or do I have to download the weblogic server separately to put Java Beans in it and then have Tomcat applications access the Beans from weblogic ?.
I can see the latter requires some process to be done, as I'm not familiar with weblogic server. Please advise me.

Need advice about web services and Java beans

I am very new to web services and to Java beans as well.
I am trying to understand if and how a web service can use functionality I have in a Java bean. I couldn't find any documentation I can use.
For example:
InitialContext ic = new InitialContext();
Adder adder = (Adder) ic.lookup("ejb/AdderJNDI");In a EJB client project (I'm working with Eclipse) if I add the EJB project to the build path, the Adder interface is recognized.
Theoritacally I thought I can do the same in a web service server project, but the Adder interface is not recognized.
Is there something I can read to understand how I need to use the EJB or implement the web service?

Okay....I think I made some errors with the original scenario:
It basically comes down to this....I think. OCS Calendar has a set of Java classes and methods that provide an abstraction for their web services interface. I know how to create something to use these classes using an IDE like JDeveloper, but I'm not sure how that would work with HTML DB.
I've noticed that the SQL Workshop has a place for Java sources and classes, and I've heard mentions of PL/SQL wrapping. Is there a way to import classes into an HTML DB workspace, wrap 'em up, and access them via PL/SQL?

Need to print Java Bean contents

Working on Oracl 9i Designer but 10g database.
I have a Form in which I have a bean. I need to print the contents (text) from this bean. Any ideas ?? Cannot use WebUtil.

My knowledge is all in Forms. I have added the Java ean example for the Graph and need to print this, but bear ini mind i have merely attached this ready made example provided by oracle. What program do i use and how do i print this graph. Using th Java code you provided for printing does this need to be done within the Java bean or can i do it within Forms?
This is our first look at a bean so we have limited knowledge, but want to incorporate the graph into our form.

Need Help-How Store the input parameter through java bean

I have a simple Issue but It is not resolve by me i.e input parameter
are not store in Ms-Access.
I store the input parameter through Standard Action <jsp:useBean>.
jsp:useBean call a property IssueData. this property exist in
SimpleBean which create a connection from DB and insert the data.
At run time servlet and server also show that loggging are saved in DB.
But when I open the table in Access. Its empty.
Ms-Access have two fields- User, Password both are text type.

Do all JSP/Java bean webapps need an xml file?

Hi all,
I have a jsp/ java bean webb application. This is being run on Resin at
Lunarpages.
The site has been shut down due to 'class-loader' not found. I was told it
was causing problems for other java users on the server.
I realise this is limited information but any insight would be welcome.
This is our first JSP / java bean web app.
Also if anyone could tell me briefly the purpose of an xml document in a JSP/Java bean webapplication I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks for the reply.
Our application allows people to purchase wedding pictures online. It ran locally on resin we then had to change all the relative file paths in order to deploy it on lunarpages.
Lunarpages use resin also.
We had the application tested and working on Lunarpages for the last week .This morning they sent us a message saying they had shut our JSP pages down as our application was causing problems for other java users. errant code unknown element ' class-loader' .
Not too much help from lunarpages...

Need help for traping imported java bean exception

hi everyone
i have imported a java bean into my forms 9i using java importer utility which tries to rename a file on a give path(bean works fine when executed through sql client).
i have problem when called from when button pressed trigger, it throws me an ("FRM-40735 and ORA-105101 NON ORACLE EXCEPTION") error.
i have imported java.lang.exception class and constructed an exception handler to trap java exception in the trigger
as

     WHEN ORA_JAVA.JAVA_ERROR then
          message('Unable to call out to Java, ' ||ORA_JAVA.LAST_ERROR);

so i tried with BIException which also fails to trap the error i have no idea about BIException and its usage with in forms ,Please do help me out with this issue ASAP.

don't understand what the BIException is supposed to do in your code, can you try
     WHEN ORA_JAVA.EXCEPTION_THROWN then
     ex := ORA_JAVA.LAST_EXCEPTION;

where Exception_ is the imported java.lang.Exception package.

WDVisibility type paramter in Java Bean(Web Dynpro DC in CE 7.1)

Hi All,
I need to set a WDVisibility type paramter in a java bean and i am able to do so.It imports com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.api.WDVisibility class .
The problem is when i am creating a Java Bean model it is not allowing me to select the Java bean class it gives an error message" Invalid Class : No class files found for JavaBean : com/sap/tc/webdynpro/progmodel/api/WDVisibility".
The java Bean class exists in Web Dynpro DC>src folder.
Any Pointers?

Hi Ondrej ,
Refer the above links to convert the component of the first dc as a public part.
Then declare the methods which are written in the component controller of the first DC in the interface controller with the same signature.( When method is called automatically component controller method is called)
In second dc in component controller properties tab add the reference of the first dc.
Then access the method in second dc as
wdthis.wdget<UsedComponent name>Interface.methodname();

In General words , using JavaBeans / PJC's (Pluggable Java Components) is used when you want to extend your Form Funcionality to Java , on other words , if you have a case on which that Forms API and packages can not help you then you can develop/use a Java Bean or PJC , take a look at this PDF (you don't like Links :) sorry ):

Help with Login Form (JSP DB Java Beans Session Tracking)

Hi, I need some help with my login form.
The design of my authetication system is as follows.
1. Login.jsp sends login details to validation.jsp.
2. Validation.jsp queries a DB against the parameters received.
3. If the query result is good, I retrieve some information (login id, name, etc.) from the DB and store it into a Java Bean.
4. The bean itself is referenced with the current session.
5. Once all that's done, validation.jsp forwards to main.jsp.
6. As a means to maintain state, I prefer to use url encoding instead of cookies for obvious reasons.I need some help from step 3 onwards please! Some code snippets will do as well!
If you think this approach is not a good practice, pls let me know and advice on better practices!

Assume a case where you don't want to give access to any JSP View/HTML Page/Servlet/Backing Bean unless user logging system and let assume you are creating a View Object with the name.
