Hi,
Need SQL Query to get Menu's - SubMenu's and Functions attached to a Responsibility...
There are two tables fnd_menus_vl and fnd_menu_entries_vl....
I need to call in these two tables again as the sub_menu_id acts as menu_id in order to get the submenu and their entries....
Please suggest how to achieve this...

Hi,
I need a query to get the details of blocking and deadlock occurred for the day.

You havent specified which version of SQL you are using which makes it difficult to give a solution. Assuming its latest versions , by default SQL Server (in any versions) doesnt track blocking information.
You need to run some kind of queries/traces to capture blocking. The same goes with Deadlocks where majority of the DBA's enable trace flag 1222/1205 when they suspect deadlocks happening.

Need query to get parent and child relations

The above query gives a project and its child.
Child project can inturn have child projects.
But the above query gives only the first level.
To obtain second level I am presently using the following query

i am developing a report for non moving material , i have got the relevant fields from MSEG,MKPF, MCHB, MCH1,,, but i need the last consumption date for that non moving material batch and value (total amount ) of that batch...
so i need a Function Modules, to get this values .

You have to join MSEG and MKPF ( where MKPF has the posting date ) , ( day,month,year ) . You can calculate the month.moreover, also see S031,S032,S033
else.
check it at Mseg-lgort, and movement types for the given matnr.
from there u can find the consumtion according to movement types .
for particular period carry mblnr from mkpf and check the movement types which r equal to this mblnr and matnr in mseg.
so u get the all movement types in that period for particular matnr.
consumtion = issues - receipt.

If you want to START WITH the rows that are not children of other rows, say
START WITH fnd_menu_entries_vl.menu_id NOT IN
                SELECT sub_menu_id
                FROM    fnd_menu_entries_vl
            )Depending on your tables, you may be able to do something simpler and faster.
Speaking of faster, Timur is right. You'll proably get better performance if you do a sub-query with the CONNECT BY on fnd_menu_entries_vl, and then join that result set to the other tables.

Query to get the List of Reports on a Universe

Hi All,
I want to write a query to get all the Web I and Crystal Reports that access a particular universe.
Can anyone suggest me where to start.
This is in BO 3.1 against Oracle databse.

There are a few ways to do this:
- The easiest would be to use a Relationship Query from the CMC. To do this, go to the Universes section on the CMC, right click on the relevant universe, select tools >> Check Relationships.
- Use Query Builder. You will need more than one query to pull the information you need. You could try something like the below (for Webi)
SELECT SI_NAME, SI_WEBI, SI_DATACONNECTION FROM CI_APPOBJECTS
WHERE SI_KIND = 'universe' and SI_NAME = 'Universe Name'
This will give you a list of Webi Reports by SI_ID.
You'll need another query to list Webi report names:
SELECT SI_NAME FROM CI_INFOOBJECTS WHERE SI_ID IN (SI_ID from query above)
- This is trivial via Auditing / the Activity universe. This of course will only return reports that have already run.

It is within the table I believe (I'm not a DBA or a developer) since I created a BLOB column and then used the file browse feature to allow users to attach a resume to the table in order to be able to perform a search of the attached documents.
I'm just having a hard time pointing the link in the search results report to the document in the blob column.
The information on that page is great if you're trying to create a link to the document on the initial report.
But I created a query using Oracle Text to run a report that does a boolean search of the attached word documents in the table.
When it displays the search results, it doesn't create a link to the document and I can't figure out how to do it.
Here's a link the the instructions I used to create the initial search report with Oracle Text, mind you I only created the index and query, I didn't add in all the link data since they're using documents on websites and I'm using documents in a table.

Here's one way:
SELECT LISTAGG ( TO_CHAR ( SYSDATE + 1 - LEVEL

                ) WITHIN GROUP (ORDER BY LEVEL)    AS txt
FROM    dual
CONNECT BY LEVEL <= 7
This is an example of String Aggregation, that is, taking a column on multiple rows, and concatenating all the values (however many htere happen to be) into 1 big string column 1 row.
Like everything else, exactly how to do it depends on your Oracle version.
