Need submit form code

I know almost nothing about coding and fear my eyes will be permanently crossed by all the solutions I've searched for and tried over the last week. What I need is (a) the php or perl code to tell the submit button to send the entire form and (b) instructions about exactly where to put it.
Thank you in advance for anyone who can help.
This is the page with the form

Your form is not declared and doesn't do anything.
When you create a form, you need to declare it.
Then you need to say what the form does or what it calls.
Here's an example:
<form action="dothis.php" method="post">
  First name: <input type="text" name="fname"><br>
  Last name: <input type="text" name="lname"><br>
  <input type="submit" value="Submit">
</form>
Now, the action="" part should call server-side code that collects all of your data and sends it in an email to whomever you wish. But since you did not declare your form and did not give it an action or a method, you have the entry blanks but it's just going to sit there.

  • Field validation using distributed form's "Submit Form" built-in function

    Hello,
    I am hoping someone can help me out with a small problem I'm having. I have a hidden field on a form which is the total of other numeric values on the form with code in place so that if the number doesn't equal what it should, the alert box is displayed. The problem is that it's a distributed form and even though the message is displayed, if you hit submit (Built-in Submit Form) button form on a second attempt, it submits anyway. So the question is, how do I change the built-in API submit button code to catch the error? Because it's a distributed form, am I dealing with global variables vs. form level? I've tried using the "event.rc = false" at the form level to no avail. I can't seem to locate the built-in "submit form" code so that I can change that to make this APP work. Or is there a better way to do this. My validation code is below and I would greatly appreciate anyone's help.
    Thanks,
    Tom
    // JScript source code if (this.getField("RankGame1").value > 0 &&     this.getField("RankGame2").value > 0 &&     this.getField("RankGame3").value > 0 &&     this.getField("RankGame4").value > 0 &&     this.getField("RankGame5").value > 0 &&     this.getField("RankGame6").value > 0 &&     this.getField("RankGame7").value > 0 &&     this.getField("RankGame8").value > 0 &&     this.getField("RankGame9").value > 0 &&     this.getField("RankGame10").value > 0 &&     this.getField("RankGame11").value > 0 &&     this.getField("RankGame12").value > 0 &&     this.getField("RankGame13").value > 0 &&     this.getField("RankGame14").value > 0 &&     this.getField("RankGame15").value > 0 &&     this.getField("RankGame16").value > 0)     {       if (this.getField("RankGameTotal").value == 136) {         } else {         event.rc = false;         app.alert("Please check your confidence points. They should add up to 136, but are adding up to " + this.getFiel         ("RankGameTotal").value + ".");        }     } else { }

    try67,
    Thanks for your reply. When you say to "remove the Submit action, and submit the form yourself inside your code" are you refering to the
    distributed forms "Submit Form" button displayed on the purple tool bar of the distributed form? And if so, could you please let me know how I can do that? I've
    looked into that and haven't found an answer. Doing that would solve my problem of having my own submit code acting correctly and the
    distributed forms "Submit form" code not having any idea about my forms desired field value.
    Thanks again,
    Tom

  • Need help with code for adding dates to form

    Hello forum goers
    I'm new to making forms and figured out how to auto add the date, however I need the form to change the date for every copy made.
    For example today is 06/08/2012 if I print 10 copies of the form it will output 10 pages ranging from 06/08/2012 to 06/17/2012. If code exists to do this I would be very gratefull to whoever helps, I also wouldn't mind if that is not possible for manually inputing the start / end dates.
    Currently I print 15-30 copies of the form and hand write each of the dates but I'm just getting to busy to do that. I also cannot print one a day it must be in batches.
    Thanks in advanced.

    What you are asking for is more complex than just setting the current date. Each time the form prints it has to know that it has to change the date. I would suggest doing this.
    First, setup a document level script to set the date to the current date. I suspect that you have already done this?
    Next, Create a "DidPrint" document action to increment the date.  To do this the script will need to scan the current text value of the date, add one day to it, and then reformat it.  You'll find information on this type of scripting in these articles:

    ipt-part-2
    http://acrobatusers.com/tutorials/working-with-date-and-time-in-acrobat-javascr
    ipt-part-3
    Since the increment happenes in the Did Print you will need to print each copy individually. If you enter 10 copies in the print dialog it won't work. You have to print one at a time.  You can automate this activity with a console script.
    One of the advantages of incrementing in the DidPrint is that you can also manually enter a date and it will increment from there.

  • Need to submit form to more than one person

    I am making a facility bookings form for the place I work at.  Once someone has completed the form there needs to be a submit button.  I need the form to be emailed to multiple people.  How do I create a submit button, and how do I make the form email to the correct people.

    Hi,
    If you are creating the form using FormsCentral, a submit button will be added to your form automatically. To send email notification to multiple people, please check out http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-1424 for instructions.
    Thanks,

  • Struggling with the Submit Form

    My incomplete site has three links which don't seem to work at all. Unsurprisingly they are all the same file type and I don't have the slightest clue on how to fix it!

    I have supplied the coding for one of my pages 'Site Feedback'. My goal is to create a send-able form where the user can contact us at [email protected]. You guys supplied me with this script, but for some reason (probably due to my own fault) it isn't working! Thanks for the help.

  • Is it possible to remove the submit form button that's automatically created when you distribute a form?

    I have created a form for my boss and distributed it. She doesn't want the submit form button to appear as people don't need to submit the form to anyone, just fill it in and keep a copy. I can't figure out how to remove this button. It's not one I've created, it's the one that it automatically generates when you don't have a submit button in your form. Is it possible to remove this button or do we just have to live with it? I am using Adobe Acrobat X Pro.
    Thanks

    You can have more control on the email subject/ to and CC Email address, if you use a regular button and place the code in the click event.
    Refer to the attached sample below.

  • "Submit Form" button automatically created when opening form in non-adobe program

    I tried browsing the forum for a solution to getting rid of this annoying automatic button but got nothing. It gets generated on the body of the form (top right) when I publish for distribution using any method for collection. I'm using pdf expert 5 to fill and submit forms because adobe reader doesn't do what I need how I need it. Everything is perfect except for that annoying submit form button that specifies submitting by email because 'user is not using reader or acrobat version whatever'.
    Anyone know how to get rid of this button?
    Thanks!

    Yes, that is correct.
    I did not manually add this button, so I am assuming it was somehow automatically created.
    It worked great up until now that I need to change the "To:" email address.
    I've look through the XML code associated this this email address and changed it every where I could find it, but it still hasn't changed my results.  So, I have no idea how to change this and as stated above, if I create a new form it automatically sets it up to be sent to the wrong email address.  Not sure why or how to change it?
    Let me know if you need further info to help me out.
    Thanks again

  • Where does the "Submit Form" button get created and how can I change the associated email address?

    I've created a pdf form using Adobe Live Cycle ES 8.2 and it has been working fine.  Now I need to change the email address it gets sent to when the user clicks on the "Submit Form" button.
    How can I change this email address?
    Thank you in advance

    document.myForm.submit();
    and put one of these in your code
    <input type="hidden" name="myInput">

  • HTTP Submit & FORM Post

    Where can I find an example of how to submit form data in a format used by HTML forms (URL-encoded Data - HTTP post)?
    Im just learning Acrobat 7.xand Form designer 7.x and cant figure out how to attach code to the Submit HTTP button. A client has a generalized forms post decoder/foward as e-mail program. The url would be, for example:
    http://www.ourwebsite.org/cgi-win/deField.exe method="POST"
    and it needs the Acrobat form to have the hidden field:
    femail=[email protected]   (email address to send form info to)
    What we really want to do is:
    1.     Use an interactive Acrobat form to collect and validate data from users over the Internet (by querying a database) as they fill in the form
    2.     Merge both user-entered data, and user-specific data pulled from the db, into the pdf form
    3.     Returned the completed form to the user for printing at their location,
    4.     And capture the full data into our database.
    .Ive scoured the product literature and the dev user forums and seen some limited FAQs and advice but its pretty murky. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You simply have to create a button that retrieves data from this <br />webservice (first you have to create a data connection to your webservice).<br />The third point can be achieved using a print button (that is ready to use <br />in the library). Remember that you can making all the operations you want to <br />do without re-loading the PDF, but simply by doing the call to your <br />webservice after the user filled in the form.<br />The forth point can be achieved using a submit botton that has the <br />controltype set to submit, then you can send your data in the format that <br />you choose. Of course, in the submit URL you can specify an email.<br /><br />Sorry if I don't understand your request :)<br /><br />Ciao,<br />Alessio<br /><br />Bye,<br />Alessio

  • Submit form to ColdFusion

    new to flex. Have a form built just need to make the submit
    button work. Any examples out there to send the information to cf
    to send an email out?

    This is what I use to submit forms via ajax:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function updateErrorHandler(id,message) {
            alert("Error while updating\n Error code: "+id+"\n Message: "+message);
        function doInsert(nForm) {
          ColdFusion.Ajax.submitForm(nForm, '/doInsert.cfm?method=insertData', resultInsertHandler, insertErrorHandler, 'POST');
        function resultInsertHandler(returnMsg) {
            var resultDiv = document.getElementById("result");
            resultDiv.visibility = 'visible';
            resultDiv.innerHTML = '<div>Success!</div>';
            resultDiv.visibility = 'visible';
            setTimeout("HideOpenMenus()",5000);
        function insertErrorHandler(id, message) {
           alert("Error while updating\n Error code: "+id+"\n Message: "+message);
            var resultDiv = document.getElementById("result");
            resultDiv.innerHTML = "<p>Failed!</p>";
    </script>

  • Using a Button to extract pages and submit form.

    I have a five page document.   The last page is a letter that gets emailed by itself.  Also want the account name and number to flood into the subject line.
    I can get this to work if I don't extract the other four pages,  and use the built in submit form function in the button.  But can flood the value from the account name and number fields.
    Function needed for Adobe Pro X and would probably use with Live Cycle in the near future.
    Thanks!

    OK. In that case you can use something like this as the submit button's MouseUp script:
    var newDoc = this.extractPages(this.numPages-1);
    newDoc.mailDoc({cTo: "[email protected]", cSubject: "Subject line"});
    This code will extract the last page of the document and then attach it to a new email message with the specified address and subject line, which you can change of course.

  • Submit form email address save document at same time?

    I want to save a template with a submit form button which saves and sends a new document to an email address?

    If you are not already, you need to use a server side script to process your forms. Do not use mailto for the form action property. The server side script is where you put the code to redirect to the 'thank you' page. Many common scripts take the redirect url from a hidden form field.

  • Error when I "submit Form" through Outlook 2007

    We have a interviewer who is trying to use a new form we created. When she hits the "submit form" button she gets the normal prompts and then a email is placed in her outbox (using Outlook 2007). However, after a few moments she receieves an error code saying that the object can't be found. This did not happen with forms in previously versions of Acrobat. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you!

    Hi mattmclaughlin
    Please see the below KB Document from Microsoft on the same issue : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2020427

  • Submit Form Button Acrobat X Pro Mac

    I used Acrobat X Pro for the first time a couple of months ago. I created a form and when I was finished there was a Submit Form button in the purple field at the top of the document next to the Highlight Existing Fields button, and the text to the left of the buttons said "Please fill out the following form. When finished, click Submit Form to return the completed form. You can save data typed in this form.". I did not create any buttons on this form manually. I want to do this again for another form but I cannot figure out how I did it the first time. I have seen discussions on how to create a submit button, but I cannot get that to work either. Plus I think the Submit Form button looks nicer anyway. Please Help!!
    What I Need:
    - a pdf form with a submit button that will email me a copy of the completed form when pressed
    - the person filling out the form also needs to be able save a copy for themselves
    My System:
    Macbook Pro OS X 10.6.7
    Office 2011 for Mac 14.0
    Acrobat X for Mac 10.0.2

    I just did what it sounds like you want to do using these instructions for Acrobat Pro 9. Here is the link: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Acrobat/9.0/Standard/WS3593E0A4-C5E2-4cde-A09E-2A984346DDD2.w. html
    To make it so your user can save a copy go to the Advanced Tab and click on Extend Features in Adobe Reader. That should do it. Good Luck.
    Best,
    Lisa
