We need to Create AD LDAP based Address Book. Following is the scenario.
Our Existing Network
SMTP Domain Name1 is xyz.net hosted on O365 Exchange online with E3, E1 and KIOSK Plan for different users.
SMTP Domain Name2 is abc.com hosted on onpremise Linux box
Windows 2008R2 based AD Domain named abc.com
Linux POP users get central/global address list by using AD Domain for
abc.com LDAP address list
Solution required for
Exchange KIOSK user with POP connectivity need to have access to some Central/Global Address list for
xyz.net
We wish to
Setup a seperate domain joined or workgroup server and use the Windows AD LDAP/ADAM service to build a Address List for
xyz.net domain
we DO NOT wish to replicate AD LDAP Instance from our existing Domain Controller.
configure Exchange Kiosk pop users to use LDAP addres list by connecting it to the AD LDAP server.
We are looking for
steps to setup a ADLDAP/ADAM service on Win2008R2 or 2012 with a fresh AD LDAP Instance.
The step to create a Application Directory Partition
Populate the Application Directory Partition with users, groups, contact for the xyz.net domain either manually as well as by importing
allow users to be able to access this application directory partition on AD LDAP server and
allow the users to configure their pop email client [outlook 2010] to use the LDAP address book on the AD Ldap server

It sounds like all of your contacts on your Mac running Lion are actually stored up in iCloud.
Several users running Mac OS X Lion and now ML (and iCloud) have no longer been able to "sync" contacts over to their older iPods models.
A work around is to export all of your contacts out of Address Book as vCards and them copy these vCards into your iPod's Contacts folder. You'll need to have the Enable Disk Use option ticked from under the iPod's Summary tab in order to browse out to the iPod's Contacts folder via the Finder.
Using your iPod as a storage drive
That's the only "solution" I have been able to use to get contacts to sync/appear on my 5G iPod Video.

Cannot create a new Offline Address Book

I have 2 instances of Exchange Server installation in one single organisation (by one per domain):
1. Exchange 2010 Version 14.3 (Build 123.4).
2. Echange 2013 Version 15.0 (Build 1044.25).
I have created new OAB and arbitration mailbox following
this article.
It is result of command:
[PS] C:\Windows\system32>Get-Mailbox -Arbitration | where {$_.PersistedCapabilities -like "*oab*"} | ft name,servername
Name ServerName
BK Arbitration OAB vsrv-exbk
But when i try generate new OAB using command:
Update-OfflineAddressBook -Identity "OAB-FAB"
I get this error message:

Roughly translation from Russian is - "Cannot create a new Offline Address Book
"\OAB-FAB" This may be caused to two reasons: the service "Mailbox Assistant service." did not started on "SRV-MAILBOX.xxx.local"

I investigated this situation and found out that i have "Organisation Management" role on my account, and "Mailbox Assistant service." is started on server "SRV-MAILBOX.xxx.local".
I try to restart the service but it does not fix this issue.

How did you create a new OAB and an OAB Generation Mailbox? When creating new OABs after Exchange CU5, we need to specify the GeneratingMailbox property.
For example:
New-Mailbox -Arbitration -Name "BK Arbitration OAB" -Database DB4 -UserPrincipalName [email protected] –DisplayName " BK Arbitration OAB"
Set-Mailbox "BK Arbitration OAB" –Arbitration –OABGen $true

Unless you are willing to continually do an export of one contacts database and import of the other, switching back and forth, you'll either need to use some third-party contacts application or maintain two separate user accounts in Mac OS X. The built-in Address Book/Contacts application does not allow multiple address books.

Under our mailboxes folder, we have created two separate email accounts. How do we create an address book for each email account? (they need to be completely separate from each other)

This is easy. You can do an export (backup) and import of the address book. So get one you like, export it. Create a new one, export it. Now just import the one you want to work with. Just be sure to export it again before you import the other one, in case you have made changes.
I do this for separate mailing lists, etc.

How do you create a group in the Address Book? I've looked in all menu dropdowns when the Address Book is open, and I have no options for creating a group or distribution list that I can see. What am I missing??

how I access the Address Book directly from Mail.
Frequently you don't need to - just start typing a name and Mail will find matching names (including group names) in Address Book. If you have AB open you can drag a card to the To (or CC or BCC) fields of an outgoing mail message, or click on the label beside an email address on a contact card and select "send email".

Need to create a transformation based on Update Rules Logic

Hi,
I have an existing complex Update Rule. I need to manually create a Transformation based on this Update Rule logic. The Start Routine of the Update Rule comprises of:
1) All data declarations in the Global Area
2) The local coding area consists of various select statements from various r/3 tables used later for mapping. It also calculates and stores values in the Data Package final internal table for few infoobjects that are not present in the Source object but and are used to populated data in the target.
3) then we have the various one to one individual Infoobject mappings/constants and many individual infoobject routines that pick result from the comm_structure
I am not very clear as to where each of the above coding logic should be put in the transformation coding area...... I can see four main coding areas in the transformation....global area, 2nd Global Area, Method Start_Routine and Method Inverse_Start_Routine........... I think the global data declarations(point 1 above) should be put in the Global declaration area of the start routine. The local area of the update rule logic (point 2 above) that contains select statements should be put in 2nd Global part or should it be put in Method Start_routine????? Point 3 above for individual filed mappings will be done through Rule groups. Also can anyone let me know what is the methos inverse_start_routine used for?????

Point 1 you mentioned should be put under2nd Global declaration part of start routine.
Point 2 should be put under Method Start_routine.
Point 3 as you only mentioned can be done by individual field rule mappings.
Method inverse_start_routine
      This subroutine needs to be implemented only for direct access
      (for better performance) and for the Report/Report Interface
      (drill through)
Not very clear though about Inverse routine. But definetly not being used for the case you mentioned.

create the block with the data block wizard. Use your View as Data-Source.
After that set all items to QUERY-ONLY, when they are not updateable. E.g. if you create a view from EMP to DEPT. Then it is not allowed to update DNAME. DNAME is set to QUERY-ONLY.

Essentially, you have a procedure, returning a table-of-records type variable, called by the block "Query Data Source..." properties.
Name = procedure name
Arguments = procedure parameters (IN parameter(s) Value is :block.item)
Source Columns = the record type columns for your table-of-records
Datatypes & sizes must match all around.
Start very simple & get it to work first, then expand.
You must follow the documentation very carefully. If it doesn't work at first, go through everything to verify. Also, read the Tip & Issues at the end of the Metalink note.

Unable to create tree structure in Address Book like "Mail"

I'm moving from a Windows PC environment having used both Mozilla's Thunderbird (email) & Firefox (browser) successfully for years. Problem I'm encountering is setting up a similar structure in both Address Book & Mail!! I set my Mail structure as follows:

0800 Class
1100 Class
T'ai Chi
Earthquake E-tree
Branch 1
Branch 2
Branch 3
Branch 4
From my Apple phone conversations & One-On-One sessions, this is impossible. All Groups in Address Book are sorted in alphabetical order. There are NO sub-groups! When I'm composing a Mail for Mailbox, Leon Contacts, it's not easy to locate 1100 Class. It seems as though this logical approach to a tree structure would be useful for the community.
I'm at a loss for getting the mail addesses easily into Mail. Any interrim suggestions.

Firefox doesn't do email, it's strictly a web browser.
If you are using Firefox to access your mail, you are using "web-mail". You need to seek support from your service provider or a forum for that service.
If your problem is with Mozilla Thunderbird, let us know and we can move this thread to the Thunderbird queue. This question currently is in the Firefox queue for answers.

Creating a group in address book from a group of emails

Hello,
I would like to create an email group in Address Book from a list of email addresses that was sent to me.
The scenario: I receive an email from our team manager for my son's baseball team. Listed in the "To:" header in the email are the 20 email addresses for the parents. I would like to copy/paste those emails or highlight/drag them into a new Group created in Address Book.
How do I do this without adding each individual email into the address book and then dragging each individual contact into the Group?
