Need to draw process diagrams in JSP's

Hi,
I have a requirement where I need to show process diagrams, DFD's to users in JSP pages.
Another thing is I want to allow user to update the diagram if he feels that the diagram is not proper.
Is there any tool or API using which this can be accomplished...
Thanks in Advance
Gopikrishna

Hi Corlettk,
Can we use Microsoft Visio for dynamically generating diagrams. I think it is only for generating static diagrams.
We want users of the portal to update the diagram if they feel something is missing or is wrong (consider it like a mini paint program) but on JSP.. (Not sure whether it is advisable or there is any simple way out there to solve this requiremnt)
For representing nodes and links... may be we can use XML at backend....
But not sure how to approach this problem.....
Any input will be greatly appreciated....

  • Shall i draw transition to detail process in the master process diagram

    i have a master detail workflow. both process in one workflow item type.
    Master process diagram
    [start] --> [activity_A] --> [detailprocesss] ---> [wait] ----> [end]
    Detail process diagram
    [start] --> [notification_B] --> [continue] ----> [end]
    in the master process, from [activity_A] i am starting the detail process using wf_engine API and set the parent relation before calling start api.
    My question is, shall i draw the transition from [activity_A] to [detailprocess] in the master process diagram?
    much of ur help is appreciated,

    If you have drawn the transition from Activity A to the subprocess to the Wait, then this is what the process will do - run Activity A, then run the subprocess, then wait.
    If you draw the transition from Activity A to Wait, then the process will run Activity A and then wait.
    As per my last post:
    Consider what will happen if you put a link in your diagram. Activity A will start new processes as detail flows. When it is complete, it will then transition to the detailprocess activity, and run that again, and then move on to the Wait activity. If that is what you want to happen (which it may be - I don't know enough about your business process to be able to guess whether this is what you want to do or not), then you need to include the link. If you just want processes created by Activity A and then to wait, you need to transition from Activity A to the Wait.
    Try it and see whether the results you get are what you expected, and if not then try it the different way. Again - I don't know enough about your business process to be able to guess what you want to happen.

  • How to supress the process diagram after workflow executes

    I need to supress the display of process diagram, displayed afer the workflow executes. How to turn this off.
    Thank u

    Put form.setSuppressReports(true); into whatever your output jsp is (e.g. createResults.jsp, taskResults.jsp, etc; generally whatever jsp displays in your URL when the process diagram is displaying).
    See http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?forumID=764&threadID=5171130 and/or item 14 in http://groups.google.co.in/group/iampearl/msg/d12647374d730ee6 for more info.

  • Using CREATE PROCESS and START PROCESS in a JSP

    Hi,
    I have built a simple JSP page. I want to call my workflow program from this page.
    How should I use the CREATE PROCESS() AND START PROCESS() inside the JSP page?
    Also I want to get the value entered in the text field (which will be a hidden field) to be passed to the ITEM_ATTRIBUTE, which I have defined in my program. How can this be achieved?
    Please give me the syntax for this.
    Please find below the JSP page
    =========================================================
    <%@page import= "java.util.Date" %>
    <script language="javascript" src="ibeCButton.js"> </script>
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>First Page</title>
    </head>
    <body>
    <H3>Today is:
    <%= new java.util.Date() %>
    <INPUT TYPE="text" NAME="CART_ID">
    <INPUT TYPE="submit" onclick = >
    </H3>
    </body>
    </html>
    ==========================================================
    To use LAUNCHPROCESS in JSP, the following is the syntax.
    public static boolean launchProcess
    (WFContext wCtx,
    String itemType,
    String itemKey,
    String process,
    String userKey,
    String owner)
    Should WFContext have the connection information of the DB.
    If I pass only the WFContext and itemType attributes are they enough? Please let me know.
    Thanks

    There are two options.
    1. Good one.
    Include wf*.jar files in your system CLASSPATH. Use oracle.apps.fnd.wf.engine.WFEngineAPI class to access engine APIs. You would need to pass WFContext for which you need WFDB.
    You basically created WFDB with username, password and connect string. Pass it to WFContext and use it for all Workflow Engine APIs.
    2. OK one.
    You can get JDBC connection using the default mechanism that your custom Java and JSP code could be using. Call the PLSQL procedures WF_ENGINE.CreateProcess and WF_ENGINE.LaunchProcess over JDBC.
    Anyways option 1 makes life easier.

  • Can a single servlet process 2 diffrent jsp pages?

    I am kinda new to the jsp world. Here is the question i have.
    I have 2 jsp pages and a sigle servlet class. Both the jsp pages need to be processed by the same servlet. The servlet needs to run diffrent logics based on which jsp the request is being sent from. Is there any way for the servlet to know which jsp the request is coming from( like having an attribute in the form tag of the jsp which the servlet can later retrieve)?
    I am using only jsp's and servlet( not using any other technology like struts or JSf's). I appreciate any kind of help. Thank you.

    Yes, you can! It depends on how you access the servlet. If you access it via GET method you must add a request parameter to the url to distinguish from which jsp the request comes. If you use POST method (with form submission) put a hidden field in the form and with that field you can recognize from which jsp the request comes.

  • I am able to get color images in the continues shot but when i try to snap a color image which i need for my processing i get only a monocrome image

    I have been using lv_vfw.llb VI's for grabbing images from a CREATIVE WEB CAM ,i am able to get color images in the continues shot but when i try to snap a color image which i need for my processing i get only a monocrome image ,i have been trying to play around with the RGB weightings but i am unable to get a color iamge,it shall be of great help if you could help me in doing this as it is urgent for me.Thanks for your help.

    vicky,
    I am unfamiliar with the lv_vfw.llb, and have not used it before. However, I noticed that you stated that you are able to grab in color, just not snap in color. If this is the case, why not just perform a grab and then extract a single buffer from this grabbed data, which would likely be in color? This seems like a possible solution to the issue that you are seeing.
    Other than that, I really don't know enough about the lv_vfw.llb to be of much help on this issue. Hopefully another member of this forum will be able to assist you with this software.

  • Invoking BPEL Process from a JSP Page 500 Internal Server Error

    Here is the solution:
    Properties props = new Properties();
    props.setProperty("orabpel.platform", "oc4j_10g");
    props.setProperty("java.naming.factory.initial",
    "com.evermind.server.rmi.RMIInitialContextFactory");
    props.setProperty("java.naming.provider.url", "ormi://localhost/orabpel");
    props.setProperty("java.naming.security.principal", "oc4jadmin");
    props.setProperty("java.naming.security.credentials", "welcome1");
    and several jars have to be added to the project:
    Orabpel.jar , Orabpel-common.jar, oc4j*.jar,
    %ANT_HOME%\lib\ant.jar;
    %ANT_HOME%\lib\xercesImpl.jar;

  • I need to map my garden.  I need to draw it to scale and locate plants ties to a list of plants.

    I need to map my garden.  I need to draw it to scale and locate plants that ties to a list of plant names.

    A quick google search for gardening apps gave a surprisingly large number of hits. I saw at least three distinct garden planner apps (from $2 to $10) without half trying. These are mostly for iOS - iPad and/or iPhone - though there may be equivalents for Mac OS.
    I suggest you hit the app store and start doing some searches. I suspect you'll find something appealing fairly quickly.

  • Sun IDM gives "Net Charts error for Process Diagram

    My test environment has started to show a strange error. IdM 7.1.1.10 running on Windows 2003. In the admin pages, when I performed a regular server task, I get the following instead of the usual process diagram:
    {color:#999999}Net{color} Charts
    version 3.6
    The evaluation period for this product has expired.

    Has anybody seen this before? What causes it and what did you do to fix it? It has not happened in my other environments.
    Thanks!
    Kim

    Hi,
    We also used to recieve the error when we were running IDM6.
    Since running IDM8 we have not seen the error. This may be as a result of process diagrams being turned off by default.
    I would suggest that the process diagrams be turned off as they do not seem to add any value. See [http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5320239] on how to turn off the process diagrams.

    This is what you need to do:
    1> In the tables->details section define two line types LT1 and LT2.
    2> Come back to tables section pressing the table painter button.
    3> Select a line type for which you want to have an underline(say LT2).
         a] If the anchor cursor does not come click the draw lines and columns button( the pencil icon nutton)
         b] select the line type ( it will become black after selection. Press and hold down ctrl to select
             multiple cells.
         c] after selection click the lower 'frame button' ( which is right at the top of box and shading).
    4> Now goto data section where you have given your internal table name and work area.
         a] in the sort criteria put your field POSNR and check the Event on Sort end chk box.
         b] you will see an extra node under the main area of the table.
         c] Create a table line with the line type LT2 in the node.
         d]Also in the Main area add another table line with LT1 as the line type.
    5> If POSNR remains unchnged LT1 will be triggered.
    6> if Posnr changes then LT2 will be triggered with the underline.
    This will suffice your requirement.

  • Do we need to create process chain explicitly nor system generates process

    Hi all,
    Do we need to create process chain explicity in bpc netweaver nor the system generates it internally when we run data managment packages
    thanks
    Pooja

    When you install BPC, there is a set of delivered process chains which are installed as well.  You create the data manager packages from the BPC Excel clicent based on these process chains.  You can of create custom BPC process chains in NetWeaver and create packages from those as well(for example via a How-To guide).   So to answer your question, no, you do not have to create the "standard" process chains, and they are not generated by the system either, they are delivered as part of the BPC installation.

    What do I need to draw on my ipad - I.e. do I have to have a special app or programme or what?

    1. Will WACOM BAMBOO MINI stylus work with IPAD 4 retina display??
    2. Are the nibs for bamboo MINI stylus replaceable?? If yes, can the same rubber nibs be used for bamboo mini and bigger solo stylus ??
    3. Should I buy soft or firm nibs?
    4. Can mini stylus be used for any app in apple store, or, will it work only on certain apps?? (In some apps, there are setting for certain stylus like, Jot, Ingus, etc)
    Thanks..
