Need to remove SMP after P2V conversion

I converted two NetWare 6.5 SP8 servers from physical hardware to VMware ESX 4 this past week-end. I used Portlock Storage Manager to do the P2V and it worked great; however, I'm having an issue with one of the servers. We use Backup Exec 2010 with a Windows Media Server and the Remote Agent for NetWare. This is the same way we were backing up prior to the P2V change. The problem is that on one of the servers, the backup job runs the CPU to 99% and never lets up. The throughput on the backup job starts high (400+ MB/Min) and quickly slows to a crawl (11 MB/Min). The system is unusable - slow logins, slow loading of files, etc. - so we have to kill the job in the morning so users can get on the system. We haven't been able to get a backup of this server since the conversion.
I contacted Symantec Tech Support and their answer was essentially "it's not our fault, blame VMware."
The major difference between the two servers is that one was on single CPU hardware and the other was on a dual CPU system. The dual CPU server has NetWare SMP installed. VMware ESX 4 doesn't support multiple vCPUs with NetWare guests. I suspect that the issue has to do with running SMP code on a single CPU system.
I need to know how to remove the SMP extensions to see if this is, in fact, the issue. I've done some searching and haven't found a solution. Can anyone help?

Well, that is not so strange at all.The problem is that when NetWare has
multiple CPUs, VMware can't properly detect idle CPUs. As such, NetWare
will appear to use all CPU time you allocate to it. Furthermore, on
VMware, giving multiple CPUs will slow down NetWare compared to a single
CPU. So all in all, giving multiple CPUs to a virtual NetWare will hurt
performance and waste resources and it is only natural that VMware has
finally decided to drop the possibility to produce such a bad configuration.
BTW with Xen, the situation is the same. With Xen, you should also only
allocate one virtual CPU to NetWare or else your performance will such and
your CPU time will be wasted.

Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:

Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, does your device connect without that message now?

Are you sharing the same iCloud account as your daughter? If so, that would explain why your contacts are merged. To fix this, you would need to migrate her device(s) to her own iCloud account. After doing so, you could then delete her contacts from your Mac without effecting the contacts on her device(s).

Yes, gladly. I am trying to install on a 13" MacBook Pro with OS X 10.8.3. I insert the disk into the SuperDrive. The I work '09 window pops up with two icons: one Tim install and one that says "Read before you install iWork." I double-click on the "Install iWork '09" icon, and a window appears that says, "This package will run a program to determine if the software can be installed." I click "continue" and see "Welcome to the iWork '09 installer." I click on "Continue." The "read me" bullet on the left lights up, and I see "Read before you install. . . ." I click "Continue," then see the software license agreement. When I click on "Continue" again, I am asked to agree, and I do. The window then says, "Standard Install on 'Mackintosh HD" and indicates how much space the program will take.
I click "Install," enter my password, and the installation begins. It goes through a validating phase and begins "writing files." It indicates that installation will take about 30 minutes (although that number fluctuates). After about four minutes it goes to "cleaning up." Then after just a few seconds, the "Summary" bullet on the left lights up and this message appears: "There were errors with the installation. You may want to try installing again." There is a large yellow triangle with an exclamation point in it, and a bold "The installation failed." Below that appears "The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance."
At that point, a "Close" button is pulsating blue at the bottom of the window.

you can user "write to" statement with formating option.
In your case,
write VBAP-KWMENG to l_var1 DECIMALS 0.
so you will get l_var1 without any decimals and now you can populate this variable in your control.

Need to Remove Duplicate Rows

I have two tables MEMBER_ADRESS and MEMBER_ORDER. The MEMBER_ADRESS has duplicate rows in it based on MEMBER_ID and MATCH_VALUE. These duplicate ADDRESS_IDs were used in MEMBER_ORDER. I need to remove the duplicates from MEMBER_ADRESS making sure I keep the one with PRIMARY_FLAG = ‘Y’ and update MEMBER_ORDER.ADDRESS_ID to the MEMBER_ADRESS.ADDRESS_ID that I kept.

Need to remove syles/images via CrystalReportViewer

I am trying to embed a report in the app. I only need the report (minus the toolbar, "main report" tab, printLayout and border gifs)
I was able to remove the
a) toolbar,
b) "main report" tab,
c) partial background style - using setDocumentViewType - webLayout (Thanks Ted)
(I was able to hack and remove it from allInOne.js - but I would rather do it with setDocumentViewType )
I now need to remove
dialogframeleftright.gif, dialogframetopbottom.gif and any other gifs.
How do I achieve this via CrystalReportViewer in XI 3.0/3.1?

How are you running this program? Is there a top level vi which calls the ones you posted? The Display image on screen.vi will display two images in succession, but according to the note on the block diagram the second image is blank. It seems as though this would intentionally create a flicker.
The sequence structure is unnecessary. Dataflow will determine the order of execution. The only exception is the time delay in the third frame. Since it has no data dependency, a single frame sequence may be useful to assure that the delay occurs before the picture is updated. A simple state machine might be a more versatile architecture for what you may be trying to do.
It is not necessary to write the FR.PanelBounds property immediately after reading it, nor is it necessary to read it a second time in the second frame. Just wire from the first read.

Wrong text in ADRC and LFA1 table after Unicode conversion

Hello,
We are doing MDMP to Unicode on SAP 4.7 system.
In post unicode activities,we had corrected the garbage characters in
table ADRC
by converting to target langauage ZH using SUMG t-code.
Condition used for addind table ADRC in SUMG is LANGU ='1' and
LANGU_CREA = 'EN'
But after converting and saving the data,most of the records have
incorrect character in word.
and text field of search term/company name/city in table LFA1 are also
wrong in correspond field in table ADRC.

Assumption: You have Chinese entries in table ADRC with ADRC-LANGU_CREA = EN
Now you have to distinguish two problems:
1) Chinese texts are stored in ADRC fields, which are NOT used for search help texts (most of the fields - e.g. ADRC-NAME1):
These texts can be handled in two ways:
a) Change LANGU_CREA = EN to LANGU_CREA = ZH for these entries (e.g. where ADRC-COUNTRY = CN) before the Unicode conversion (by the way, I would not use ADRC-LANGU, since this is the communication language, which does not necessarily comply with the code page of the entry).
This needs to be done in a similar way as shown in z-reports described in SAP Note 634839 ( although this specific fool-the-system case is not covered there - you have to adapt those examples)
b) Use SUMG to repair the entries using language ZH (as you already did)
My favourite would be a), as this can be done before the conversion (Note that SUMG ineeds to be executed during downtime !)
2) Chinese texts are stored in ADRC fields, which are used for search help texts (e.g. ADRC-MC_NAME1):
a) If these entries were inserted / changed with logon language ZH, then point 1) applies
b) If users logged on with logon language EN and created the entries, then most of these texts are destroyed already in Non-Unicode system. Then there is no automatic repair possible (at least point 1 does not work). Here my statement from before is valid:
Those entries need to be generated again - e.g. if you do a dummy change on the name.
According to my knowledge, this is a manual effort (either before or after the conversion) - but maybe it can be automized ...

Do I need to remove the application?

I am working on iPlanet 6.0SP4.Do i need to remove the old application when I redeploy the new one. Because there is also an option called "override" when doing the deployment, what that mean?

See when you deploy any ear application it first copy it in "<iAS-install-dir>/ias/JAR" dir and extract all the war/jar modules in it. And after it picks the modules from here and explode in respective directory under "<iAS-install-dir>/ias/APPS or .../APPS/modules". When you say Override modules, it replaces all the old modules having the same name with the new one and then explode them.
Moreover when you deploy any module it will make entries in LDAP under "Application server/6.0/J2EE-Modules/<war/jar-module-name>" and for each Servlet/JSP/EJB under "Application server/ClassDef/<GUID>".
So when you redeploy same application again and you don't change the module names then it will overwrite this registry information as the module names and GUID is same (in this case you have to restart iAS). But if you reassemble application using deploytool, then it will create new GUIDs for each components in your app and the second entry will be change in this case.
Now when ever plugin will send the request for the new app it will read GUID from the "J2EE-Modules/<war/jar-module-name>" node and will send it to the KXS and the KXS will see what class to load after looking at "ClassDef/<GUID>" node.
If the modules have the same name as original Application, then the old GUID entries in registry are of no use and will make iAS slow only as it reads the whole registry while starting.

Windows 2008 R2 OEM to Volume License change after p2v.

Did online search and even called Microsoft licensing, got very confusing and different answers. So posting here.
P2V'd a HP server running 2008 R2 Standard (64 Bit) , everything went smooth, after 2 weeks server is giving "Build 7601, the copy of windows is not genuine. The Product ID reads : 00XXX-OEM-8XXXXXX-1XXXXX
Our company does have volume license keys and my understanding is that we need to give one to this server. Can I just change product key and activate using new volume licensing key ? or do you I need to do a repair- as I read in most cases with win2003.
Called MS:
1st Support Agent : Go ahead, change product key, reboot and give us a call to reactivate.
I asked for another confirmation and was transferred to tech support
Tech Support: Give us your name, number etc., we need to open a ticket, charge $259 or let me transfer you to volume licensing.
2nd Support Agent: We recommend a clean install for any volume licensing changes. Kept repeating it x 10.
me: This is a production server, I cannot do that, its too late, sorry.
he: Ok, then go ahead and try to change the key and see if it works.
me: would it break anything or any risk
he: Not sure, as we recommend a clean install is recommended for any Volume License.!
Please advise if anyone has come across upgrading OEM to Volume after p2v. thanks
