Need Web Service implementation tutorial on SOA11g with weblogic 11g AppSer

Hi Experts,
I am new to webservice topic. I don't know ABCD of web service, but i got a task to implement webservice and need prepare xsd file to move 3 fields information from source system to target machine.
Note: Target system have webservice to capture 3 fields information but I need to prepare a web service to capture 3 fields information from log file (normal text file) through web service (from source system and later link same to target web service).
My task is to implement web service at source system to fetch 3 fileds data from log file and link to target machine web service.
Can any one help me out any basic information on it and apreciate if any one provide practical tutorial on web service creation using SAO 11g and weblogic 11g application server.
Thanks,
Phani

thanks you for your response and tutorial.
I need some more help, can you please help me out how to read data from log file to webservice
Note: Log file have a xml content but it is saved as .log file thru an third party application. Third party application does not have capability to store log file as xml but it istoring has .log file (normal text file) with XML content.
If you have any sample code, please provide the same
Thanks,

  • Partner Web Service Session Management in BPEL with JDeveloper 11g

    JDeveloper 11g 11.1.1.1.0 and SOA Suite 11g
Trying to create an synchronous Web Service which has an external reference to a Web Service partner (AXIS 1.4 implementation) using BPEL. I have a sequence which has 2 invokes, one for user login and another invoke for a different call. However the session from the login has to be maintained for the second call to work. I am unable to do this. I get a NoSession error thrown from the partner Web Service. I did verify that my login piece is working.
On the composite, in the external reference piece I added binding property oracle.webservices.session.maintain and set to true and also added oracle.webservices.httpConnTimeout and set the value to 10000. This did not help. I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

  • Creating Web service for PL/SQL Procedure with Complex Data Types

I need to created web service for PL/SQL Procedure with Complex Data types like table of records as parameters, how do we map the pl/sql table type parameters with web service, how to go about these?

    Hello,
When you are creating a service from a Stored Procedure, the OracleAS WS tools will create necessary Java and PL wrapper code to handle the complex types (table of record) properly and make them compatible with XML format for SOAP messages.
So what you should do is to use JDeveloper or WSA command line, to create a service from your store procedure and you will see that most of the work will be done for you.

  • Web Service Implementation Heavily Based on The Singleton Pattern

    Dear all
I have recently joined a project that is 2/3 through development of a medium sized application providing synchronous and asynchronous implementations for a number of Use Cases exposed as Web Services. The design is one that I have not come across before and am keen to understand.
Web Service calls enter the application through a singleton, which in other respects is a POJO. This class manages a number of instance variable references to other classes responsible for implementing each Web Service method, including data access using Hibernate. Since the top level singleton class is, well, a singleton, I understand this to mean that all of the other classes maintained as instance variables will themselves only ever have one object instantiated (assuming of course that no other thread of execution instantiates them except our singleton WS entry point). To my way of thinking this turns the whole of the Web Service implementation into a kind of singleton application. This strikes me as a procedural programming idiom that happens to be implemented using Java, since Objects with state are not being used. I have not yet asked the question "why?" of my new colleagues but I would like to ask you what the consequences of this design are likely to be. Particularly considering that this application will be expected to handle concurrent servicing of Web Service requests - and so be thread-safe. Can it be thread safe? Are there likely performance implications? Forgive my ignorance is what I describe known as a Singleton Web Service?
    Regards
    David

Web Service calls enter the application through a
singleton, which in other respects is a POJO. I'm confused about this sentence. Is the application somehow separate from the web service? Is the application acting as a service to this web service? How is the application being hosted? Does it run in a container as well?
    This
class manages a number of instance variable
references to other classes responsible for
implementing each Web Service method, including data
access using Hibernate. If all the references are stateless, preferably interfaced-based, you aren't likely to have thread issues.
    Since the top level
singleton class is, well, a singleton, I understand
this to mean that all of the other classes maintained
as instance variables will themselves only ever have
one object instantiated (assuming of course that no
other thread of execution instantiates them except
our singleton WS entry point). To my way of thinking
this turns the whole of the Web Service
implementation into a kind of singleton application. You keep using web service and application. Are we just talking about a web service implementation here?
This strikes me as a procedural programming idiom
that happens to be implemented using Java, since
Objects with state are not being used. You are correct, sir. If services are stateless, and they should be, then they aren't exactly rich objects with state and behavior. It's very procedural, indeed.
    I have not
yet asked the question "why?" of my new colleagues
but I would like to ask you what the consequences of
this design are likely to be. Particularly
considering that this application will be expected
to handle concurrent servicing of Web Service
requests - and so be thread-safe. Can it be thread
safe? If the web service is indeed stateless, then it should be thread-safe.
Are there likely performance implications?Maybe. Best to measure if those arise to see if the web service is the cause.
Forgive my ignorance is what I describe known as a
Singleton Web Service?I don't know if it's been given a pattern name. If it's a Singleton, then that's true. If it's a service, that applies. If it's deployed on the web, I'd say the label fits.

  • OAAM web services implementation class for WebSphere 6.1

    Hi All,
My client is running OAAM 10.1.4.5 and looking to migrate to WebSphere 6.1. I'd like to replace the (default) Apache Axis web services implementation class with a custom-built WebSphere 6.1 implementation class. Does anyone have any code they'd been willing to share?
    Regards,
    Steven

It is may be because BO is not ready for Java 2 and you can find more info about readyness of applications at
    http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wasinfo/v6r0/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.websphere.nd.doc/info/ae/ae/csec_rsecmgr2.html
I am not sure if BO is prepared for the very fine-grain access control programming model that Java 2 security is capable of enforcing.
May be some one from PG should be able to answer readyness of BO with Java2.

  • Web service response contains SOAP Headers with "mustUnderstand" true

    Hi
I have a requirement where in I have to consume a web service as adaptive web service model, and while executing the service pass a mandatory parameter to the soap header. We are able to set the mandatory parameter to the soad header. We got the code snippet to do this from a wiki link
    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/WDJava/FAQ-Models-AdaptiveWebService#FAQ-Models-AdaptiveWebService-WhatarethefunctionalgapsofthecurrentAdpativeWSModelImporter%3F
On executing the service now through web dynpro we are getting the below error
"Web service response contains SOAP Headers with "mustUnderstand" true which are not handled by the client runtime"
Any thoughts on how to handle this mustUnderstand attribute with some code snippet? Appreciate all help.

    Have you found the workaround?
Sorry for refreshing topic. Flag mustUnderstand ='1' in response is unussual thing.

My web service is using soap binding. I have tested it with eclipse and other tools also. It is working well and good. But when I tried to call a web service which is created and hosted on WebLogic server(running on port : 7001), I got the correct output.
Can anyone help me out in calling a web service hosted on different server from WebLogic server.
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi
    1. The way you are invoking the WebService deployed on Tomcat server is looks suspicious. It may be valid by adding extra ?wsdl etc into the url, but still I have not seen this way to invoke the webservice.
    2. So you used Weblogic ant task to generate client JARs by giving this WSDL. So looks like it generated the 4 classes (.java) and in addition any other classes for Request/Response xml objects.
    3. Look at the source code of EchoService.java. It should have one default empty constructor. Internally it uses the default wsdl defined in this class. You will see another constructor that takes WSDL URL as one of the parameters (QName) etc. Echo.java is the class corresponding to the Port. In the same EchoService you should see an instance method like getEcho() something like that. This Echo.java class will have methods for all the Operations defined on this Port. So the standard code snippet we use most of the times will be like this:
EchoService myEchoService = new EchoService(); // Default it uses WSDL deployed on Tomcat at localhost:8080
Echo myEchoPort = myEchoService.getEchoPort(); // Something along these lines.
myEchoPort.xxxYYY(); // NOW this is the operation name that takes the input parameters and returns outputs defined as per the WSDL defintions. If the Input and Outputs are complex xml types, it will have corresponing .JAVA files with setters and getters.
Now if this WebService is deployed on same Tomcat but on different machine or different port, you just give the full WSDL URL with that host and port in the constructor for new EchoService(...). You may need to instantiate QName object. But look at the methods generated in EchoService.java class.
The way you are using with Impl and Stubs class may also work. I am not much famiiar with this APIs apporach. Still look at the methods generated in these classes.
Also if you latest Sun JDK 1.6, it also has one command like wsimport. Infact if you install WLS 10.3 with Sun JDK, it should have C:\beawlp103\jdk160_05\bin\wsimport command. This will also generate client jar given a WSDL URL.
    Thanks

TimeTrackProject extends Project class in toplink-10.3 jar.
Are there compatibility issues with weblogic 11g and toplink 10.1.3.1?

The older TopLink versions were not certified on the latest WebLogic releases. Oracle TopLink 11g (11.1.1.0.0) was certified on WebLogic 10.3.0 and 11gR1 (11.1.1.1.0) was included with WebLogic 10.1.3.1 as a system module. You may be experiencing a conflict between the included TopLink libraries and the older ones you built your application against. I would recommend rebuilding your application against the TopLink libraries shipped with WLS 10.3.1 and not including the older version.
If this is not an option then you would need to use an application classpath filer to ensure the TopLink libraries in the system module of WLS 10.3.1 are not used.

I we encountered the same issue. We overcame it by installing OSR on a weblogic domain which didnt have SOA suite installed as SOA was causing a conflict. Not sure if your domain contains SOA but if it does then you should try and create another domain for OSR only.
    Hope this helps.

I have been following this tutorial:
    http://developers.sun.com/prodtech/identserver/reference/techart/secure-ws.html
And it was a pissed-off experience. I have only spent 5 mins on it and I am already stuck.
Anyway, when I try to deploy the StockServer project, I get the following error:
    am-init:
    am-deploy:
/home/bwoo/Creator/Projects/webservicessecurity/samples/StockServer/nbproject/am-deploy.xml:46: Could not create task or type of type: amdeploy.
Ant could not find the task or a class this task relies upon.
This is common and has a number of causes; the usual
solutions are to read the manual pages then download and
install needed JAR files, or fix the build file:
    - You have misspelt 'amdeploy'.
    Fix: check your spelling.
    - The task needs an external JAR file to execute
and this is not found at the right place in the classpath.
Fix: check the documentation for dependencies.
    Fix: declare the task.
    - The task is an Ant optional task and the JAR file and/or libraries
implementing the functionality were not found at the time you
yourself built your installation of Ant from the Ant sources.
Fix: Look in the ANT_HOME/lib for the 'ant-' JAR corresponding to the
task and make sure it contains more than merely a META-INF/MANIFEST.MF.
If all it contains is the manifest, then rebuild Ant with the needed
libraries present in ${ant.home}/lib/optional/ , or alternatively,
    download a pre-built release version from apache.org
    - The build file was written for a later version of Ant
Fix: upgrade to at least the latest release version of Ant
    - The task is not an Ant core or optional task
and needs to be declared using <taskdef>.
    - You are attempting to use a task defined using
<presetdef> or <macrodef> but have spelt wrong or not
defined it at the point of use
Remember that for JAR files to be visible to Ant tasks implemented
in ANT_HOME/lib, the files must be in the same directory or on the
    classpath
Please neither file bug reports on this problem, nor email the
Ant mailing lists, until all of these causes have been explored,
as this is not an Ant bug.
BUILD FAILED (total time: 5 seconds)
Have any of you had the same problem? I know there is a similar tutorial on NetBeans website but it's even more poorly written.

No i have not really worked on it these last days...
I wonder why so few answers to this post. Would we the only two people who want to do this (be able to access OCS fron a web app, reusing SSO session)
My main problem, for these web services, is to pass a password. As we do actually, we should keep a password in clear text in the User session.. and i'm not fond of this.

  • Web Services Implementation

I wish to use some Web Services from sites like www.xmethods.net. Is there any "to the point" tutorial available to do the job with Java?
Plz reply if anybody has used "or consumed" web services with java from any of such sites.
    [email protected]

You should take a look at JAX-RPC, which specifies how the WSDL's you find at places like xmethods map to Java. Consuming a web service from e.g. xmethods is typically quite easy and can be done with just a few lines of Java code.
You can use the JAX-RPC reference implementation from http://java.sun.com/xml/jaxrpc or any of the commercially available implementations, e.g. jBroker Web from Novell from http://www.silverstream.com/Website/app/en_US/JBrokerWeb.

  • Problem with web service that returns an object with a String that have som

    Hi everybody:
I have a problem with a web service I am doing, I have made a web service that returns a collection of objects, the objects have a set of properties, there is one property that is a String, this property consists in a text fragment that could have some characters that are considered special in XML like &, <, >, " and that's why when I execute the service from a client an exception is thrown:
    {code}
Exception in thread "main" org.codehaus.xfire.XFireRuntimeException: Could not invoke service.. Nested exception is org.codehaus.xfire.fault.XFireFault: Could not read XML stream.. Nested exception is com.ctc.wstx.exc.WstxParsingException: Expected a text token, got START_ELEMENT.

    at $Proxy0.search(Unknown Source)
    at cu.co.cenatav.webservices.client.Client.main(Client.java:26)
    {code}
I know that this is happening because special characters are sent by the soap message but I don't know how to solve this problem.
How could I avoid this exception ?
I hope you can help me.
    Regards.
    Ariel

    Hi,
BPEL and BPEL PM do not have a good support for SOAPENC-Array: it would be very difficult to create such an array in BPEL or to receive it and manipulate it.
The (unfortunately very intrusive) work around is to change the WSDL of the service to use a XML type defined using XML schema. This is all the more painful that JDev 9.0.4 does not have strong support for complex types.
In general though, I would highly recommend this best practice:
    1) Start by define the WSDL contract first
    2) Then generate the server side skeleton to implement it
    3) Use BPEL as the client to this contract.
By starting with the contract first, you make sure that 1) your interfaces are clean and coarse grained.
    2) things like java objects, sessions, etc to not leak through the interface (which would be the worst thing that could happen because it would closely link the client and the server.
Sorry for not being more helpful. This will get radically cleaner in Oracle AS 10.1.3.

  • Mobile app based on web service data control and VO with VC runtime error

    Hi,
    Jdev 11.1.2.3.0 + mobile extension.
    Windows 7, 64 bit.
Reproduceable with Android emulator but not on iOS and iOS emulator.
I can not test on real Android device because we do not have it in our office.
So I don't know wether this issue is related to android emulator only or to android in general.
Also not reproduceable by Oracle support.
I have a VO "Employees" with a VC "department_id = :departmentIdVariable" and exposed the find method for this VO via service interface in AM.
    (see demo video from https://blogs.oracle.com/shay/entry/developing_with_oracle_adf_mobile?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=facebook).
In a ADF mobile app I create a parameter form and amx:listView like demoed in the mentioned video.
Whenever I test this app on android emulator I get the error below.
Exact the same page used in a second feature works fine.
I found out that the problem only occures on the first attept (this means when I open the page on the second feature first then this will fail and the subsequent call of the first page will be successfull).
The problem does not occure when the web service data control does not contain a method based on VC with bind variable.

Does anyone has seen the above error ?
I have recreated the model and mobile app more than 20 times, re-installed Jdev, re-created Jdev settings (integrated WLS & Co), ran the web services on a different machine.
On my site this problem is 100% reproduceable with android emulator.
    regards
    Peter

Hi, Peter, this could be an issue with proxy server setting. Are you behind a firewall when you test this?
iOS simulator would use Mac's proxy setting. Android Emulator has its own proxy setup - it's a bit complicated to get to and varies based on the Android emulator you are using. For 4.1 emulator (you should always use 4.x or above emulators), you would need to go into the emulator itself, and go to settings - Wireless & Networks - click More... - Mobile Networks - Access Point Names. You should see an Access point used by the emulator to simulate network connection. Mine says "T-Mobile US". You click on it, and then you can select the proxy attribute and set it according to your office's settings.
    Hope that resolves the issue.
    Thanks,
    Joe Huang
