Netbeans 4.1: JSR-109 web services are only supported in j2ee 1.4 apps

There is no way to create web services in NetBeans 4.1 with Tiger (jdk 1.5).
Because when you try to create a web service in NB4.1, you will straight away get an message in the New Web Service window:
JSR-109 web services are only supported in j2ee 1.4 applications.

JSR-109 web services are only supported in j2ee 1.4
applications.Do you have J2EE 1.4 SDK installed?

  • Deployment of JSR-109 Web Services on Weblogic 11g (OAS migration)

    Hi.
    I'm being part of an ongoing migration effort from Oracle Application Server 10.1.3.5 to WebLogic 11g (10.3.6). Some of the OAS applications use old JSR-109 Web Services, where each service has the following components:
    - A SEI interface that extends java.rmi.Remote and declares the service methods, which throw java.rmi.RemoteException (e.g. ServiceSEI)
    - A service implementation POJO that implements the SEI interface (e.g. ServiceImpl)
    - A [Service]-config.xml file that declares the service and relates name, namespaces, packages, interface and implementation (e.g. Service-config.xml)
    - A declaration of the service implementation POJO as a servlet (with mapping) in web.xml (docs says it doesn't have to be technically a servlet)
    - A webservices.xml file that defines the service and references the mapping file.
    - A [Service]-mapping.xml file that defines the WS-Java mappings.
    All the artifacts look right according the old documentation:
    - Programming Web Services for WebLogic Server, Creating a J2EE Web Service Manually: http://otndnld.oracle.co.jp/document/products/wls/docs92/webserv/jsr109.html
    - Web Services for J2EE 1.0 Final Release Spec: http://download.oracle.com/otndocs/jcp/websvcs-1.0-fr-spec-oth-JSpec/
    The Web Services work OK in OAS. When I try to deploy any of the application that contain one of that services to WebLogic, I get the following Exception:
    <BEA-101216> <Servlet: "WSServlet_Procesos" failed to preload on startup in Web application: "/webapp".

    I obviously though the EAR package given to me was incomplete, lacking the ClassNotFound related class, but the package was OK, and is exactly the same that deploys without problems in OAS.
    The ClassNotFound related class is referenced in the <java-xml-type-mapping> element of the [Service]-mapping.xml file, e.g.:
    <java-xml-type-mapping>
    <java-type>co.com.acme.services.ServiceSEI_serviceOperation_ResponseStruct</java-type>
    <root-type-qname xmlns:typeNS="urn:Service/types">typeNS:serviceOperationResponse</root-type-qname>
    <qname-scope>complexType</qname-scope>
    <variable-mapping>
    <java-variable-name>result</java-variable-name>
    <xml-element-name>result</xml-element-name>
    </variable-mapping>
    </java-xml-type-mapping>
    I searched the OAs installation deployment dirs looking for the missing class and found it was present in a Jar called deployment-cache.jar. According OC4J related documentation, this Jar es auto-generated at deployment time.
    Weblogic 11g documentation says that kind of Web Services will continue to run, without any changes, on version 10.3.x of WebLogic Server because the associated Web services run time is still supported in this release, although it is deprecated and will be removed from the product in future releases (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/web.1111/e13760/upgrade.htm). I know the right estrategy is migrate the Web Services, but right now my client needs to deploy and use them as they are. I think WL recognizes my service since internally is calling a "Deploytime109MappingHelper" class.
    ¿Is there any way I can deploy that kind of services to Weblogic 11g? ¿I'm I missing some required step?
    As a workaround, I included the OAS generated deployment-cache.jar into the EAR to deploy in Weblogic 11g and the app deploys without errors, but I see this is not a nice solution.
    Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Esteban

    Hi. The [Service]-mapping.xml file is a standard "JAX-RPC mapping file" according the JSR-109 spec and WebLogic 9.2 doc ([1],[2]). That's the file that references the class. Here's a fragment:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no"?>
    <java-wsdl-mapping xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" version="1.1" xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee http://www.ibm.com/webservices/xsd/j2ee_jaxrpc_mapping_1_1.xsd">
    <package-mapping>
    <package-type>co.com.acme.services</package-type>
    <namespaceURI>urn:Service/types</namespaceURI>
    </package-mapping>
    <package-mapping>
    <package-type>co.com.acme.services</package-type>
    <namespaceURI>urn:Services/wsdl</namespaceURI>
    </package-mapping>
    <java-xml-type-mapping>
    <java-type>co.com.acme.services.ServiceSEI_serviceOperation_RequestStruct</java-type>
    <root-type-qname xmlns:typeNS="urn:Service/types">typeNS:serviceOperation</root-type-qname>
    <qname-scope>complexType</qname-scope>
    <variable-mapping>
    <java-variable-name>String_1</java-variable-name>
    <xml-element-name>String_1</xml-element-name>
    </variable-mapping>
    </java-xml-type-mapping>
    I'll take a look at the ant task.
    Thank you very much.

    Hello,
    Could you be more specific about the version of OracleAS you are using?
    - which exact version ? (10.1.3.x, 10.1.2.x or 9.0/x)
    - which kind of Web Service are you developing? (J2EE 1.4/JAX-RPC or earlier version)
    Also if you find bug in the documentation or product please send let the Oracle Support Service knows.

  • A JSR 172 (Web services) tutorial

    Hi,
    Some mobile phones already include JSR 172 api. There are some tools that already allow the automatic generation of stubs. I have written an article on how to access the API without the use of this tools, maybe somebody will find it useful
    http://mobile.liveshere.net/articles/viewarticle.php?id=15

    I have written a dot net/ c# Web Services doesn't fully work with J2ME client - it too throws the same exception, with the exception text being "Missing SOAP Body or Envelope"
    a) c# web service works with c# WIndows Client (local & remote web service)
    b) c# web service works with J2ME client - when the Web Service is local
    c) c# web service FAILS with J2ME client - when the Web Service is remote
    error/exception:
    "Missing SOAP Body or Envelope" -- This occurs at the point of invoking the remote Web Service
    Speculation:
    a) dot net Web Services are "different" from Java Web services - yet it works fine in local mode
    b) error is a misnomer & there is some other problem, perhaps fixable thru Web.config changes remotely??
    - changed Web.Config authentication (from Windows to none), but this made no difference
    - changed back to default web service namespace of tempuri.org, but this made no difference

  • Exchange Web Services are not currently available for this request because none of the Client Access Servers in the destination site could process the request.

    Hi,
    I am using EWS Java APIs and passing OAuth tokens to fetch data from office 365 mailboxes.
    Because I am developing Web APIs I preferred using "Application Permissions" defined in Azure active directory application for Office 365, and used "client credential flow" OAuth flow to fetch OAuth token specific to application which will
    allow "Have full access via EWS to all mailboxes in the organisation".
    After fetching token with the procedure specified in the document "http://blogs.msdn.com/b/exchangedev/archive/2015/01/21/building-demon-or-service-apps-with-office-365-mail-calendar-and-contacts-apis-oauth2-client-credential-flow.aspx"
    I passed this token to EWS Java APIs,
    it gave me error saying:
    microsoft.exchange.webservices.data.ServiceResponseException: Exchange Web Services are not currently available for this request because none of the Client Access Servers in the destination site could process the request.
    I tried similar thing with EWS managed APIs for .net. Got similar error.
    Can anyone provide some help and direction to resolve this error.
    Thanks & Best Regards,
    Pranjal

    I see you found an answer with the X-AnchorMailbox header on StackOverflow:

  • Web Services are protocols independent?

    Hi Guys,
    I want to know that Web Services are protocol independent? if yes, can i develop a web service in other protocols excepts HTTP and SOAP. Please describe in details.

    Hello,
    I will say it depends how you are qualifying Web Services and related technologies.
    Historically, Web services have been build to use protocol and technologies that will work using Internet technologies and be compliant with Firewall and other internet layers...
    So the network protocols were HTTP/HTTPS.Also, because the service has to be decoupled from the implementation, so we use XML and data representation using Schemas, all define in a wire protocol SOAP.
    So initially Web Services are based on SOAP over HTTP/HTTPS, and the description of the services, the different message types is done in the WSDL, that is itself an XML document. Since the message is an XML document, it is possible to send it using any protocol, the idea being you send the SOAP request to a server the server deal with it and send a response all using SOAP representation. This is why for example in the Oracle Web Service stack in addition to HTTP/HTTPS, you can use JMS as the communication protocol.
    But I also want to add some information about WSIF (Web Services Invocation Framework), where in addition to SOAP, you can use "native" layer to call a Web Service. The idea being that for example if you are building a service where the clients are either hosted on the same server as the service, or remote and outside the firewall... You want in this case to be able to call your java implementation class from the container when you are local, and when a customer wants to call the service from the internet uses the SOAP/HTTP protocol. To learn more about WSIF take a look to this OTN Article: Web Services—Anyhow, Anywhere
    So as you can see Web Services are protocol intependent.

  • Startup class is run before web services are deployed

    Hello, I need to run a class at server start-up which uses web services deployed on the same Weblogic server.
    I'm using Weblogic startup class, which fires after the server is up and all modules have been deployed.
    However, it is fired before web services are deployed, so this solution doesn't work.
    Is there a way to have a class that is run by Weblogic after web services are deployed?
    Right now I'm using a timer that polls the server till the services are up and running, but I hope there's a cleaner way.
    thanx,
    Mike

    Thanx for response.
    Looking at the logs, the following came to light.
    1. My app does get deployed last, but the ServletContextListener in my app is fired after all modules "...transitioned from STATE_PREPARED to STATE_ADMIN".
    It took a few more seconds for all modules to transition "from STATE_ADMIN to STATE_ACTIVE".
    2. After all modules transitioned to STATE_ACTIVE, the log shows this:
    <Channel "DefaultSecure" is now listening on xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:443 for protocols iiops, t3s, ldaps, https.>
    I assume that only at this point are web services accessible. The error that I get when trying to invoke a web service from ServletContextListener is:
    java.net.ConnectException: Tried all: 1 addresses, but could not connect over HTTPS to server: RLOCVGVY91 port: 443
         at weblogic.net.http.HttpsClient.openServer(HttpsClient.java:289)
    So I dunno... If my ServletContextListener waits for 10 seconds, everything works.

    I don't know how successfully this will be but you can turn on the Developer menu (Advanced tab in preferences) in Safari and change the User Agent to trick the documents into thinking you're using IE. You can also do that by adding the User Agent Switcher extension to Firefox.
    Otherwise, you need to run Windows in BootCamp, as a Windows Virtual Machine in software such as VMware Fusion, Parallels, or Virtual Box, or the Windows environment of CrossOver Mac, as Niel says.

    Saleh Ramadan

    So, in reality, this issue has nothing at all to do with "it was working; now it is not", because you've destroyed all of the evidence that would exist in a "was working; now is not" scenario. What we really have here is a NEW installation that has failed.
    So, from the perspective of a NEW installation that is not working...
    Are there any other roles, features, services, or applications installed on this server?
    Did you install the Web Server Role exactly as described in the documentation?
    Did you install the WSUS Role exactly as described in the documentation?
    Were there any other roles, features, services, or applications installed onto this server
    after your original (working) installation of WSUS?

    Oh, well, I have red and followed the documentation exactly step-by-step on the technet library, and I can guarantee you nothing went wrong because this is not my first installation for it
    When I told you about the old damaged installation and the new installation which is also failed and showed me the same symptoms as the old one, I was sure that nothing wrong with the WSUS itself, but rather it is something wrong with the environment
    Answering to your above questions, the answer for all is that: that server is only used for WSUS, nothing more
    Anyway, I have managed to restore the service thanks to your previous reply where you point to the CONFIG folder inside the NET framework folder, I checked the files in there, some were changed to the date I think has stopped the service, so I repaired the
    NET framework 2, and restarted
    It is working fine now and syncing with the update server

  • NetBeans 5.5 and creating web services top-down

    Is it possible to take a pre-written WDSL and create a web service from this in NetBeans 5.5. I've had a look at the NetBeans website but can't seem to find anything relevant to this. It only specifies how to create a web service bottom up from a Java class.
    Thanks.

    SoapUI is only really used for testing web services i.e. you give it a WSDL and it'll generate sample requests with which you can then make calls to the web service.
    I was thinking more along the lines of what Eclispse WTP allows you to do i.e. import an existing WSDL into your web project then generate the Java code for the web service (not client). This way the WSDL could be developed first before any code is written.
