Netbeans 7 modules system

Hi,
I started a new "netbeans platform application" on the new Netbeans 7 and having a little strange problem:
1. created a new netbeans platform application
2. created the first module
3. create an "installer" class
4. on the installer class override the restored method
The problem is with the override restored method, I can't output messages, for example:
@Override
public void restored(){
System.out.println("test 123");
the code above doesn't output the message, witch means i can't output error messages.
I think everything is ok with the manifest and project file. i done the exact same thing with netbeans 6 and it works without any problems
I also tried both jdk 6 and 7 (early release).
Can't find anything about this on the net.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
Hugo

Perhaps the Netbeans community is a better place to scout around for answers? Chances are slim you'll get an answer in a generic java programming forum, unless someone just happens to have done the same thing as you.
http://netbeans.org/community/lists/index.html
That being said, are you sure that the restored method is even being called? It seems like something that would be invoked if you minimize and then restore the application window.

  • Netbeans module for JAWS doesn't know security section in JNLP file

    Hello guys,
    i'm making a program that is launched by Java Web Start.
    I'm using the Netbeans IDE.
    And I'm using the Java Web Start module for Netbeans (0.8.2.4.2.4), which provides me some handy menu shortcuts for starting Tomcat etcetra. The module also provides a GUI form for making the JNLP file, and if you make changes by hand, these changes are reflected in that form.
    Now, when I add this to the JNLP:<security>
      <all-permissions/>
    </security>the module warns: "Could not parse the document" and it regenerates the JNLP file from the data in the form. So the "security" section disappears. In the form, there is no place to let the module include the "security" section.
    Anyone encountered the same problem? Some workarounds?
    Anyone having success using the Netbeans module for Java Web Start and a "security" section?
    Of course I can build and then change the JNLP afterwards but that's not handy.

    Andrew thank you for your time...
    I think that page only shows a design that is not yet implemented, at least not in Netbeans 5.5 which currently is the latest release.
    Currently the JAWS options are not in the "Project Properties" dialog. They're in some visual JNLP editor, and there is a menu for enabling, running, debugging and deploying the project with JAWS.
    It seems like the only thing to do is wait for Netbeans having better JAWS support. In the meantime, work around the shortcomings of the module or don't use the module.

  • Netbeans Modules vs Netbeans 6.0

    Hi,
    I'm preparing a demo for Netbeans Conference in Poland (Netbeans RoadShow Poland) about Java Real Time Systems. I will talk about JRTS but at the end (since it is NB conference) I would like to show some examples in action developed and deployed on Netbeans.
    I found this module pack http://www.netbeans.org/kb/articles/java-rts.html but after trying installing all of the three modules that where inside modulepack one of them could not be installed on Netbeans 6.0. I've checked requirements and it is said :
    * NetBeans 5.0
    * JDK 5.0
    * 8 MB of available space to install the modules
    So right now I'm downloading Netbeans 5.5 but I think it would be ncier to show it on latest version of Netbeans. Did any of you encountered this problem? Maybe authors of the plugin are here?
    Any help will be appreciated

    Sorry - Updated modules for NB 6 are in the pipeline but not available yet.

  • IDSM2 Module system version 6.x

    Hi all,
    I am going to install an ISDM2 module in my cat6509 switch but I want to upgrade the System image first. I am looking at the following versions:
    6.0(2)E1
    or
    5.1(5)E1
    Do you know which one is more stable? or is there any reason why I would user 6.x rather than 5.x?
    Regards

    Both versions are fairly stable. Most bugs affecting 5.1(5)E1 also affect 6.0(2)E1 and vice versa, since both are running the E1 engine analysis code.
    If this is your first sensor installation go ahead and ho with 6.0(2)E1 is my recommendation. The 6.0 train has the latest features like virtual sensors. And new features will come out in later 6.x versions.
    You will also be figuring out how to manage the sensor and what management products to use. By starting with a 6.0 sensor you can have better assurances that your choices for management stations now will be supported for much longer than management stations that were geared for 5.x sensors and released a year or 2 ago. You don't want to have to get 5.x up and running, only to have to upgrade to 6.x in a year and redo all of your management station qualification testing.
    If you already have 5.1 sensors and have specifically qualified 5.1 to work on your network, then go with 5.1(5)E1. You would already have tested 5.1(5)E1 to work with your existing management station, and putting 5.1 on the sensor would allow you to easily role it into your existing framework.
    So if you are a new user I would start with 6.0 and only revert to using 5.1 if you happen to come across one of the few issues specific to 6.0 sensors.

    [ 240.576219] Tainted: P O 3.19.2-1-ARCH #1
    Anyone else experiencing the same?

    Thanks!
    I did the same and it worked... kind of. The first three reboots it failed (but did not stop the system from booting) producing:
    zpool[426]: cannot import 'data': one or more devices is currently unavailable
    systemd[1]: zfs-import-cache.service: main process exited, code=exited, status=1/FAILURE
    The second boot also resulted in a kernel panic, but as far as I can tell unrelated to zfs.
    After reboot one and three imported the pool manually.
    From the fourth reboot on loading from cache file always succeeded. However, I it takes faily long (~8 seconds) and even shows
    [*** ] A start job is running for Import ZFS pools by cache (Xmin Ys / no limit)
    briefly. Altough I might only notice that because the recent updates sped up oder parts of the boot process. Did you observe a slowdown during boot time, too, kinghajj?

  • How to Install the Downloaded NetBeans(*.nbm) Modules for Sun Java Studio

    Dear All,
    I have downloaded NetBeans Modules files with Extension *.nbm, and they are not getting installed, when I double click on them, or if I go through the Update Center and Select the Downloaded Modules even then also they are not getting installed, so please tell me the procedure how to install them.
    mahesh.

    It would be helpful to know which version of Java SE you are using, what NetBeans modules are you attemping to install, and any pertinent error messages that arise when you try to install the modules. As Jin_B pointed out, check the system/ide.log file in your .jstudio directory for possible error messages.

  • How uninstall a Netbeans 5.5 module manually?

    hi everyone,
    i have installed the VCS Generic Source Save module for Netbeans 5.5 using the online updater the IDE has.
    when i was configuring it, maye i put something wrong in the path of my MS Source Safe, so when i restar the IDE i had an error that crashes my Netbeans.
    So i uninstall Netbeans, then reinstall it, but is still giving me the error, i figure out that the module is still installed, HOW CAN I REMOVE IT? i tryed going to the Netbeans directory and ive found some directorys called modules in the IDE7 directory and ive found in there some modules called "org-netbeans-modules-versioning.jar" i delete it, but i cant get out of the ERROR, can someone please help me? i just need to uninstall this module manually.
    thanx

    You can copy them using your favorite file manager or command line.
    If you want to do it in the IDE, then, open the favorites tab (Menu/Window/Favorites) , find the files, then copy/cut/paste or drag them to your project.
    What is a dynamic file anyway?

  • Not able to access javaFx charts from a remote system after using ext. jars

    We are facing following issue. Any recommendations to resolve these issues are highly appreciated.
    1. Not able to access javaFx charts from a remote system (More details at the end of mail).This is high priority requirement as we have a web based reporting application and users access it over our static IP address.
    We are using Java Fx charts in our web application where we built jnlp and jar files in a separate fx project and kept jar and jnlp’s inside our web project.
    It is working fine when we did not used any external jar files and remotely it is accessible. But when we used external jars our project is running on local
    system but remotely it is not working due to some path settings. We modified jnlp files where entry of jar files exists and modified the jar path as per our
    project. But still it did not work.
    Before using external jars inside our java fx project my jnlp looks like:

  • How to install the Netbeans?

    Hello...
    The present is so that they help me with the installation of the Netbeans, my problem is the following one:
    I want to program in Java with all that offers me the J2EE platform, but when I go to will install the Netbeans it requests me the Virtual Machine (JVM) and it requests me SDK (JDK), but the J2EE include the JDK, therefore my problem is that I want to know like I can install the Netbeans if to have to install the JDK and in that way to save me spaces in the Disk.
    My other problem is that the Netbeans includes the Tomcat, but the Tomcat that includes the alone Netbeans it can be manipulated by the Netbeans (that is to say to run and to turn off the Tomcat; and it is not even necessary to keep the files since in the webapps Folder, the Netbeans It makes all that for us), I find that very well, because that makes that the Netbeans is a program that it facilitates the programming in Java, but if suddenly I want to make a program in which I have to make everything, that is to say that myself is the one that the Tomcat manipulates and not the Netbeans. In other words my problem it is that if I want to manipulate the Tomcat directly, then I have to install it apart from the Netbeans, although the Netbeans includes it and to use unnecessary space in the Disk?
    I hope you give me an answer.

    It would be helpful to know which version of Java SE you are using, what NetBeans modules are you attemping to install, and any pertinent error messages that arise when you try to install the modules. As Jin_B pointed out, check the system/ide.log file in your .jstudio directory for possible error messages.

  • Sun Java System Application Server could not start

    Hi
    I have installed JDK1.5 Update1 + netbeans 5.5 with the JBOSS bundle and added the Sun Java System Application Server 9.1.02.
    I am creating the EJB-JMS application described at
    http://www.netbeans.org/kb/55/ejb30.html
    All the steps are followed properly, but while running the project i get the error
    The Sun Java System Application Server could not start.
    More information about the cause is in the Server log file.
    Possible reasons include:
    - IDE timeout: refresh the server node to see if it's running now.
    - Port conflicts. (use netstat -a to detect possible port numbers already used by the operating system.)
    - Incorrect server configuration (domain.xml to be corrected manually)
    - Corrupted Deployed Applications preventing the server to start.(This can be seen in the server.log file. In this case, domain.xml needs to be modified).
    - Invalid installation location.
