NetBeans IDE Form Build

I am constructing a form using Netbeans IDE JFrame form.
When I try to test the form, the frame is a very small size, with only the close/maximise/minimise buttons showing.
When this from is adjusted in size, the main components appear.
This same thing happens when I compile and execute the main code of this form, apart from the fact that no components appear when I adjust the size of the frame.
Whats is wrong?
Thanks

Try using setSize(300, 300); (or some other sensible value)
Alternatively, add components to the form and call pack();

  • How to build jms files using netbeans ide

    hi,

    happening?
    thanks.

    I take it that you are trying to build a Java applicaiton that uses JMS API. To do it in netbeans using SUN OpenMQ I usually follow those steps:
    1) I create a new project
    2) I add JMS library. This is a library that I had created in netbeans using Library Manager. It consist of jms.jar ( this jar file contains the definition of JMS API). Next jar file is the implemention of the JMS API, in case of SUN OpenMQ it's imq.jar, but if you're using a different JMS provider it may be a different file. The last jar file in my JMS library is usually fscontext.jar, this jar file provides JNDI access to a file based store. Again if you're using something like ldap then it would be a different jar file.
    That's basicly it - Tom

  • Problem with Netbeans IDE 5.0: Building Gui

    Hello,
    I have the following problem with Netbeans IDE 5.0 (I made the same with netbeans 3.6 and it works properly):
    Step 1) Create a myJPanel class (new JPanel Form)
    Step 2) make a simple operation on myJPanel such as adding a JTable.
    Step 3) Create a myJForm Class (new JFrame Form)
    Step 4) Adding a JPanel to myJFrame (default name jPanel1)
    Step 5) Select JPanle1 within myJFrame and go to code-> custom creation code and write "new myJPanel();"
    this should set the jPanel1 (and all its contents and behaviours) created
    in step 4 equals to myJPanel();
    Step 6) run myJFrame;
    ........ and nothing happens. It is dispalyed just a gray JFrame.
    It seems that myJFrame is able to istantiate myJPanel() but is not able to paint it. what's wrong?
    Hope you may help me,
    thx

    Unfortunately, Netbeans 3.6 files and Netbeans 5 files are not compatible. Except the Java source files, Netbeans uses other aditional files such as xml files etc for forming GUI and other reasons. I have also faced the same problem with you. Good luck.

  • GUI Form Builder (Netbeans)

    Hello!
    I use the form builder to create and position 100 buttons.
    To address these "builder formed" buttons in other code, I created an array .......
    ArrayList<JButton> buttons = new ArrayList<JButton>();
    The "Form Built" buttons are added to my array named "buttons" by adding this code snip in the "post creation" entry option within the Form Builder's code generation section like this ....
    buttons.add(jButton1);
    buttons.add(jButton2);
    buttons.add(jButton3); //.....etc.
    This all works fine, now I can address each of the 100 buttons (ie: change the background color) like this.....
    JButton button = AddRFSwitchMain.buttons.get(but);
    button.setBackground(new Color(a,b,c));
    In reference to adding my "Form Built" buttons to my array, is there a way to add these buttons recursively? ie:
    buttons.add(jButton(X)); // X = 1 to 100

    This is how I add the "builder generated" buttons into my array now....
            buttons.add(jButton1);
            buttons.add(jButton2);
            buttons.add(jButton3);
            buttons.add(jButton4);
            buttons.add(jButton5);
            buttons.add(jButton6);
            buttons.add(jButton7);
            buttons.add(jButton8);
            buttons.add(jButton9);
            buttons.add(jButton10);
            buttons.add(jButton11);
            etc.....
            buttons.add(all the way out to button 100);
            Can the same thing be done recursivily like this:
            for ( int but=0; but<101; but++ ) {
            buttons.add(jButton(but));

    In the code you have posted, some places refer to '.CustomerFacader' while others refer to '.CustomerFacade' leading to issues.

  • Swing application with JavaHelp crashes outside Netbeans IDE.

    Hi guys I have developed a small swing application in Netbeans IDE. I used the following code inside the IDE for JH.
    public void createHelp()
           try {
                   URL hsURL = new URL("jar:file:eDictionaryHelp.jar!/eDictionaryHelp/eDictionary.hs");
                   hs = new HelpSet(null, hsURL);
           catch (Exception ee)
            // Say what the exception really is
            System.out.println( "HelpSet " + ee.getMessage());
            System.out.println("HelpSet "+ helpHS +" not found");
            JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(new JFrame(), ee.getMessage(), "Error", ERROR_MESSAGE);
            hb = hs.createHelpBroker();
       }When I run the program inside the IDE and and click on the corresponding MenuItem.. JavaHelp comes up as it should! No problems with that.
    But when I build the project and tried to run it from the .jar file in the PROJECT_HOME/dist/ the swing got displayed till this function was called. and then it simply crashed.
    Investigating further and commenting out one line at a time and compiling I found out that whenever the hs = new HelpSet(null, hsURL); is encountered, the app crashes (it doesnt throw any error).
    But as I said this is not the case when i run and compile inside the IDE. I only get this problem when running the app from outside the IDE.
    I have tried all kinds of combinations of the URL .. for eg ( I am aware of Bug 4149782)
    ClassLoader cl = this.getClass().getClassLoader();
    try {
                   URL hsURL = HelpSet.findHelpSet(cl, helpHS);
    .What can be the problem guys? Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

    Anyone has an answer on this?
    I am facing the same problem.. I am using NetBeans 5.5

  • Error while saving form in Form Builder

    Hi,
    When i create and save form in XML Form builder i get an error "The Edit form does not contain  a save button or link", I had even configured the save button but still i get this error. Does any one has idea about this issue.
    Regards,

    Hi,

    try removing the input fields in those forms save it(still you face this issue) close the project and again save the project. this will get solved.

  • Running oracle form builder 10g in windows 7 64 bit

    i am working in windows 7 64 bit
    oracle db 11g enterprise edition 11.2.0.10 64 bit
    form builder 10.12.0.2  32 bit
    my default browser is Google Chrome
    i have java 6 standard edition  1.6.0_34
    when i am trying to run any form this message appear " java (TM) is required to display some elements in this page"
    what can i do to run those forms?

    You can also refer to this OTN reference:
    Oracle Application Server 10g (10.1.2) Certification Matrix
    Other comments:
    1.  I would not recommend using Forms 10.1.2.0 with Oracle DB 11.2.x.  Patching Oracle Forms to 10.1.2.3 would be recommended.  Using version Forms 11 would be better.
    2.  Attempting to use the Developer Tools on Windows 7 is not a great idea although it can be made to work.  Developer Suite 10 is no longer supported and was never really intended for use on Win7.  Again, patching to 10.1.2.3 is recommended and required if you plan to follow the Oracle instructions and certifications.
    3.  Installing the Forms Builder (Developer Suite) on Win7-64bit is not at all certified and was never supported.
    4.  Using Java 7 was not certified and therefore not supported for use with Forms 10.x
    In general, Forms 10.1.2.x has been desupported.  Customer using this version or older should be working on a migration plan for getting to the latest supported version which is 11.1.2.1.

  • Forms builder crashes when opening any pll

    Hi,
    I have gotten this problem that my forms builder crashes immediately when I try to open any pll file. (There is nothing wrong with the pll file - my colleagues can open these files with no problems on their computers). It crashes before the pll file is even remotely loaded - almost as if it encounters an error during the parsing of the pll file.
    I have no problem opening and editing fmb files in my forms builder.
    This problem has not always existed but it came all of a sudden one day and since its been impossible for me to open a pll file and its getting annoying :P
    I run:
    - Windows XP SP3
    - Forms builder version info :

    Oracle CORE Version 4.0.6.0.0 - Production
    I tried deleting everything under D:\ORA6i where its installed and then reinstalling it - but the problem is still there.
    Does anyone have an idea about what could be wrong - because I am clueless atm. - could it be some registry settings that somehow got changed maybe ?
    Edited by: [email protected] on Sep 3, 2008 5:06 AM

    I have encountered various issues like this with Forms 6i over time and have tried numerous things to fix them - including complete uninstall of all Oracle products and reinstalls and the one thing I found to work best was to run a Registry Cleanup tool. I had the best success with Microsoft's RegClean.exe tool (originally released as a PowerTool), but it is getting harder to find now that Microsoft has desupported it and pulled it from their web site. There are a few places where you can still get it; www.cnet.com, www.zdnet.com, and www.majorgeeks.com just to name a few. Other Registry Tools will probably work fine as well, but this is the one I have history with. I did not have 100% success by cleaning the registry, but 50 to 75% of the time it fixed the issue without having to uninstall and reinstall Oracle Forms.
    Disclaimer: Please exercise caution when doing anything with the Windows Registry. The smallest change could have serious effects. Always backup the registry or create a restore point with System Restore before you make any changes to the Registry!
    Hope this helps.

  • How  to include the inner classes in a jar file in netbeans ide

    Dear java friends
    how to say to netbeans ide that it has to include the
    inner classes in the jar file.
    (i have one single applet class
    with two inner classes that show up
    in the build/classes file but not in the jar).
    The applet works in the viewer but not
    in the browser (I believe because the

    Second, If your problem is that you can't do this in NetBeans, you need to post to somewhere that provides NetBeans support - like the NetBeans website's mailing list. These forums do not support NetBeans (or any other IDE) - they are Java language forums.

  • How to validate multiple lines which is exist in the form builder at the same session

    Hi All,
    we are working on oracle Forms personalization to trigger the message at the point of saving multiple lines rather than requiring each line to be save individually. Currently the oracle form is allowing to user to enter two distinct lines that have same resource and basis type in BOM.
    Currently the Oracle form is allowing to enter the duplicate combination and not giving any error message even we enter the same combination of data.
    As per the customer requirement, they don’t want to validate the data while creating the records but when they try to save the form, in that case it should validate all the records at a time then need to display the appropriate message.
    Customer don’t want to customize the Oracle standard form. Here we have only option to use form personalization or through custom.pll.
    Any idea on how to validate multiple lines which is exist in the form builder at the same session as before inserting the record itself need to perform the validations for all the records.
    Thanks for your help in this regard.
    Regards,
    Thirupathi

    you can write a post script which will do the necessary tasks.
    I mean, once you are done with inserting records into these tables, exeute another procedure which will insert these "extra" records, based on some logic.
    you may not be able use DB trigger as it may generate mutating error or if you don't write it carefully, it will go into recursive loops as you are refering to same tables.
