NetConnection using POST requests to retrieve data
Hi Everyone,
I've noticed that when I use NetConnection.call(methodName) in my client Actionscript it sends a POST request off to the server. I thought this was odd because requests for data are normally GET operations but I didn't worry about it because it doesn't impact my application.
Now I have our sysadmin complaining about the amount of data I'm shifting over POST requests because POST requests aren't cached by the web servers (and we are working with the kind of traffic levels where that matters.) Is there anyway I can make call() use GET?
The code I'm using is all fairly standard, but here is the relevant snippit:
var nc:NetConnection = new NetConnection();
nc.addEventListener(NetStatusEvent.NET_STATUS, netStatusHandler);
nc.addEventListener(SecurityErrorEvent.SECURITY_ERROR, securityErrorHandler);
nc.connect(serverUrl);
var res:Responder=new Responder(onResult,onError);
function onResult(e:Object):void {
trace(Trace.structure(e,"",0));
loadSequence(e);
function onError(e:Object):void {
trace(Trace.structure(e,"",0));
noService();
nc.call(methodName,res);
Any information even a 'No thats not possible' would be much appreciated.
_Pez
Hi Pez,
I checked with some of my colleagues here at Adobe and I do believe that the answer is 'not possible as this time'. Player is hardcoded to use POST for RTMPT so you're not going to be able to change those to GET based requests.

Cannot add parameter or header to post request URL in Data/Services
I'm trying to set up Data/Services in flash builder to connect to a RESTful API and as per usual Flash Builder attempts to scupper my efforts with it 'nearly but not quite' tools at every turn.
So I need to pass a POST request with a JSON string containing auth details to the URL:
https://myrestservice.com/rest/session/
For authentication to work I also need to add either:
A: an additional header containing: api_key = *my-api-key*
or
B: append the api key to the URL so: https://myrestservice.com/rest/session/?api_key=*my-api-key*
Simple right? Wrong. In the data/services tool for a custom http service there seems to be no way to add a custom header. Ok annoying as even a free chrome plugin can do this but hey I can live with that, I'll use option B. Wrong again. The URL field in Data/Services will ignore the query on the end of the URL. Seriously WTF. Am I missing something here?
So if I amend the auto-generated code in the super class and call it directly it works but if I try to take advantage of any of the tools the code is regenerated and overwrites my changes. Test Operation never works either.
I know there is a second class which is supposed to be used to extended and override the super class but only certain overrides seem to work so for example:
This works:
._serviceControl.baseurl = ("https://someotherurl.com")
This doesn't work:
._serviceControl.headers = ({"api_key = *my-api-key*"})
Oh and Test operation only seems to execute the super class. Once again a brick wall.
Working with flash builder seems to be 50pc coding 50pc deciding if it's a bug in your code or flash builder f*****g you over.
Any thoughts, workarounds, am I missing something would be much appreciated.
ThanksShameless bump here!

How can I send a post query with attached data using Labview?
Hi,
I need to send data (a file of 5KB) to a php server.
In order to do it, I need to send a post request with attached data.
I'm using Labview 6.1 and I have the Internet Toolkit.
But I just see the Get Method. Isn't implemented the post method in Labview?
Thanks for your help
Best regardsHi,
In order to use the POST request method as opposed to the GET request method I used a VI set up as shown in the attached GIF.
From the front panel you need to provide values for the 3 inputs. "Bytes to read" is an arbitrarily large number that meets or exceeds the maximum number of bytes you expect as a response from your server. "Address" is just the URL of the server, e.g. "10.90.1.1" or "localhost" or "www.google.com". "Data in" is the actual request you're sending with the data included.
"Data in" would be in a format similar to everything in the quotes below (important to have 2 carriage returns to finish the request);
POST /phppage.php HTTP/1.1
Content-Length: ??
Host: http://www.mywebserver.com
Content-Type: application/x-www-form
-urlencoded
email=[email protected]&password=mypassword
For sending your data file you just have to set the requisite MIME-type and then include the file data in place of the form data in the example above.
Hope this helps,
Neil

How to increase speed while retrieving data from tableand showing it in pop
Hi,
In one form ,I have used f9 key to retrieve data from table in oracle database . i.e. in any input field in my form, once I press f9 key, it execute JavaScript windows. Open command.
In that command, I called the servlet which retrieves nearly 7000 rows data from table and then it dispatch request to another jsp page which shows the related data in tabular form. The data may contain nearly 7000-8000 rows.
So when I press the f9 keys it takes around 10-12 second to open the page.
Is there any ways to open this pop up windows within 2-3 second once I hit the f9 keys.
Here with I am attaching hole code for servlet and jsp page.
Any suggestion is highly appreciated.
Thanks and Regards

try { Class.forName("oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver"); connection = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:bmltest","system","manager"); st = connection.createStatement(); String query = ""; if(find == null){ query = "SELECT A1.ITEMNAME,A1.TECHDESC, A1.ITEMCODE,SUBSTR(A1.MUNITCODE,1,3),A1.MUNITCODE FROM CMSTITEM A1,CMSTITEMGRP A2 WHERE A1.ITEMGROUPCODE=A2.ITEMGROUPCODE AND A2.ITEMCLASS='"+Iclasscode+"' ORDER BY A1.ITEMNAME ASC"; }else{ find = find.toUpperCase(); query = "SELECT A1.ITEMNAME,A1.TECHDESC, A1.ITEMCODE,SUBSTR(A1.MUNITCODE,1,3),A1.MUNITCODE FROM CMSTITEM A1,CMSTITEMGRP A2 WHERE A1.ITEMGROUPCODE=A2.ITEMGROUPCODE AND A2.ITEMCLASS='"+Iclasscode+"' ORDER BY A1.ITEMNAME ASC and A1.ITEMNAME like '%"+find+"%' OR A1.ITEMCODE like '%"+find+"%'"; } rs = st.executeQuery(query); while (rs.next()){ for (int i=1;i<=5;i++){ Itemnamedetail.add(rs.getString(i)); } } connection.close(); }catch(Exception e){ e.printStackTrace(); } request.setAttribute("rowid",rowid); request.setAttribute("select",Itemnamedetail); RequestDispatcher view = request.getRequestDispatcher("Itemname.jsp"); view.forward(request,response);
and here is an jsp code
<%@page import ="java.util.*,java.sql.*,java.text.*"%><% ArrayList<String> arr1 = (ArrayList<String>)request.getAttribute("select"); String rowid = (String)request.getAttribute("rowid"); String itmcd = "itmcd"+rowid; String itmnm = "itmnm"+rowid; String uom = "uom"+rowid; String mcode = "mcode"+rowid;%> <html><head> </head><body> <form name = "unitsel" action = "SelectUnit" method = post><p align="center"><b>Find : <input type = "text" id = "find" name = "find" ></p></form><table border = 2px align = "center" width = 75%> <tr> <th>Item Name</th> <th>Tech-Description</th> <th>Item-code</th> <th>Unit-name</th> <th>Munit-code</th> </tr> <td width = 65%><h5 align=center><%=b%></h5></td> <td width = 35%><h5 align=center><%=c%></h5></td> <td width = 35%><h5 align=center><%=d%></h5></td> <td width = 65%><h5 align=center><%=e%></h5></td> </tr> <%j++;}%> </table> </body></html>First of all you will have to apply paging to show data in tables. and retrieve only those sets of data which are required. You will defnitely need to do lot of code for that. but i am hopeful, you will get some thing on net.
Second thing you can do is use AJAX. It will show your popup and will keep on loading data simultaneously. You can use JQuery and many others for that. -
Retrieving data from TCP/IP in xml and displaying values?
Hey, I am using a program to retrieve data from a machine and outputting it in xml to the localhost. On a seperate computer, I am trying to create a client application to read the xml data from that IP host and just output the important values instead of the whole script. I am new to Labview and programming, has anyone written a program similar to what I am trying to accomplish? I searched for it but couldn't quite find what I was looking for. I really could use some help with trying to figure this out and appreciate any help or advice you could give me.
Where did you search? There are examples that ship with LabVIEW that show you how to do client-server applications using TCP/IP. Did you try those? You would need to add the parsing of the data you receive (i.e., the XML).

Basic TableUI element to Retrieve Data from DB in WEbDynPro For Java
Hi Experts,
I am new to WebDynPro for java.Can any body please help me out from this issue.
I am trying to display records from DataBase by Using Table UI element.
DBTable Contains 10 rows.
I have created a Node and Attributes(for every column) .
I am using JDBC code to retrieve data from database and assigning to Attributes.
But in Table UIElement its displaying only last record from database as first row in UIElement.
Its over writing previous rows.
Can any body please help me the correct procedure to retrieve data from DataBase.
Thanks and Regards,
Shashikiran.BHi,
Iterate through the result set object
populate the context node
Ex:Replace the context nodeName with that of yours.
ResultSet resultSet = stmt.getResultSet();
//Iterate through the resultset
while(resultSet.next())
//Create element of the context node
IWDNodeElement nodeElement = wdContext.nodeOrders().createElement();
//assign value from the database to the context attribute
//Replace attributeName with your attribute name
//Replace value with resultSet.getShort("<ColumnName>")
nodeElement.setAttributeValue(attributeName, value);
//Add the element to your node
wdContext.nodeOrders().addElement(nodeElement);

Retrieve data/files fro HTTP POST request in On-Demand process
Hello,
I would like to integrate https://github.com/blueimp/jQuery-File-Upload to my APEX 4.2 application inside XE11g. I would like to use this kind of jQuery component, multiple file upload, use Drag & Drop, image resize, size limit, filter extensions etc...
This jQuery component and also others javascript uploaders sends data files to some defined URL. Developer need to build some servlet, php script or something on server side that will read files from HTTP request and stores it somewhere.
Do you know how to do it in APEX? How can I read data from HTTP POST request in PL/SQL? Now I can only call my On-Demand application process from javascript, but I am not able to read any data from HTTP POST in it.
Can I do it in APEX, or using MOD_PLSQL?
I would like to implement this:
1) some javascript uploader will call some URL of my application and sends HTTP POST with data files
2) I will read data files from HTTP POST and store them into database
3) I will create some HTTP response for javascript uploader
Thank you for some tipsI know about that existing plugin " Item Plugin - Multiple File Upload"
But I doesn't work in IE and has only basic features. Licence for commercial use is also needed. I would like to use some existing jQuery plugin. There are many of these plugins with nice features. And only one problem is that I need to create some server side process/servlet/script.. that can recieve HTTP request, get files from it and stores them into DB. -
Hi all,
Has anyone come across SQL Server 2012 SP1 CU8/9 failing to install with a “Failed to retrieve data for this request.” error.
The error is too generic for a useful search on web, for me at least anyway.
Had no problems patching a whole bunch of other servers in the same environment.
I’m no good at reading these error logs. For some reason the primary replica is referenced in the detailed log???
The CU8/9 patch has been run by both Domain Admins and local Admin with no luck.
We are trying to patch a secondary failover replica. (SharePoint 2013 is installed on this server.)
This is from the summary log:

IMO I strongly feel it is issue with the account. Microsoft has also documented about this for SQL Server 2008 .Have a look at following links

Retrieve data from a non-peoplesoft application using HTTP Get
I need to retrieve data from a non-peoplesoft application. They want us to submit a HTTP GET request to their URL with a series of parameters. I am thinking about using HTTP Targert connector to accomplish this. Does anyone have sample peoplecode?
Currently we are on 8.51.10 Tools...
If there is any better way .. please let me know ..I have used HTTP Get to get XML file from a government sanction list by hitting URL http://www.treasury.gov/ofac/downloads/sdn.xml
There is a delivered PS program that does that for vendor sanctions. I had to get the online setup correctly by creating a new custom Node with HTTP Target Connector. The program name is BSP_IMPORT. The below code is responsible for the calling the node and retrieving the data. Play around with the code below see if you can get it to meet your needs.
BSP_IMPORT_AET.BANKNODE.Value is just the custom external code that I created.
PMT_FLAT_FILE_INBOUND message is just a none rowset based message to use the web service call.
Local TR:FileUtilities:FTP &oFTPUtil = create TR:FileUtilities:FTP();
+/* HTTP */+
+/*******************************************************************************/+
Local Message &msgHTTP;
Local Message &msgResult;
+&msgHTTP = CreateMessage(Message.PMT_FLAT_FILE_INBOUND);+
+&oFTPUtil.PopulateFTPGetIBInfo(&msgHTTP, BSP_IMPORT_AET.BANKNODE.Value);+
+&msgResult = %IntBroker.ConnectorRequest(&msgHTTP);+
+/* check to see if the file is wrapped */+
+&strAllLines = &msgResult.GenXMLString();+
+&strAllLines = Substitute(&strAllLines, Char(26), " "); /* Added this line to remove invalid characters */+

Incorrect MIME type for XML Data Connection POST requests
It appears that Xcelsius 2008u2019s XML Data Connection logic does not specify the correct MIME type for the data it sends to the server in its POST request. Using an HTTP debug proxy, I was able to see that Xcelsius sends XML data in the POST, but is setting a content-type of u201Cx-www-form-urlencodedu201D. According to the W3C spec:
http://www.w3.org/TR/html401/interact/forms.html#h-17.13.4.1
Data sent with a MIME type of u201Cxxu201D should be encoded as key?value pairs, like this:
key1=val1&key2=val2&Submit=Submit
So, what Xcelsius is doing is clearly incorrect. Worse, if your server process is a Java servlet, you may find that the POSTed data will be gobbled up by the servlet container and you wonu2019t be able to read it using a getInputStream(), or getReader() call because itu2019s already been processed by a call to the getParameter() method.
The correct mime type for POSTing an XML formatted request from Xcelsius should be "text/xml".
WayneHi,
The Error #2032 your getting is due to the Flash player security.
To remove this this error you need one crossdomain Xml file in the root directory which actually provides a lot more control over who has access to your data from a SWF. The cross domain policy is attached as crossdomain.xml.
In the XML file, it is used a wildcard (*). This allows a SWF located on any machine to access your data source. You can certainly use an IP address or domain name to restrict access rather to opening it up completely. I always start with the wildcard to make sure my dashboard works, then start restricting access as necessary.
Here is a whitepaper with everything you need to know about Flash player security:
http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashplayer/articles/flash_player_9_security.pdf
Please let me know if you need any more clarification.

Retrieve data from R3 to XI using RFC
Hi,
I want to get data out from R3 to XI through RFCs or even using idocs. I have done RFC configurations in abap using SM59 with XI as destination. I am not sure whether its right. Please guide me as to how to get data out of R3 by first sending the ID no. to R3 and then retrieving data. Can anybody help me or give me some links where i could get some information about such a scenario?
Thank youHi Kevin,
You need not to do any seeting at R3 side for RFC Scenarios.
For RFC Scenario:
Make RFC in R3 make sure that it is working fine in R3. take ID as a import parameter.
Import the RFC Structure in XI in Imported Objects.
Do the Design & Configuration as you do generaly.
For IDOC Scenarios :
Yuo have to do some setting in R3 and XI side . For Required setting refer following Links.

Parsing WBXML POSt Request Data
Hi!
I want to read WBXML formatted SyncML data sent by a Mobile Device
There is a servlets at server side which receives the http request of the
device and tries to read the contents of the POST request data by using .
Request.getInputStream(); method....
I then Pass this data to a method "wbxmlToXml(req.getInputStream().toString().getBytes()) "
I am using kxml as XML parsing the Initial Lines of the method are as following
public static String wbxmlToXml(byte[] wbxml) throws IOException {
String xml = null;
try {
// Construct an InputStream on byte[] to be used by WbxmlParser
ByteArrayInputStream in = new ByteArrayInputStream(wbxml);
AbstractXmlParser parser; //org.kxml.parser.AbstractXmlParser
parser = new WbxmlParser(in);
// Construct a DOM Document to parse WBXML
Document document = new Document();
document.parse(parser);------------------> Error :java.io.IOException: id 54 undef.
I get "java.io.IOException: id 54 undef." error as mentioned above.
Please somebody guide regarding this problem
Regards,
ManeeshaThe problem is solved! The error was in the post request. At the end of the query parameter was . For spa504,
spa303,spa508 it was not important, but for spa525 important. Once I removed this parameter from the request, the phone immediately began to dial.
Thanks for the help!
