Already having problem upgrading to Win 8.1 from 8.0 and this isn't helping.  Anyone know what I can do to stop the errors?  (This post also generated an error stating that invalid HTML was detected and removed and it was a direct copy from the Microsoft error log.)

So what you're telling me is that it's a WINDOWS FILE that the HP Service is looking for?  When it's an HP Service that will not start, and not a windows service that won't start?   So why are the printers functioning properly, and listed in the proper places (meaning my system sees the P2015dn on the network and uses it with no problems), but the HP service is logging errors?  FYI, the only HP network device I have is the printer.
You'll have to explain that one before I go to the trouble of doing a full backup and a clean install of Windows 8,  then a full restore.  You're talking HOURS AND HOURS here with no gaurantee of success, and I suspect having nothing to do with the real problem of a missing file that is probably authored by HP, not Microsoft.
It's beginning to look like you guys don't know what file it's looking for either.  If it's actually a real windows .dll file and you know which one, I should be able to extract it from the windows disk to the proper folder and register it if needed.

  • HP Network Devices Support service will not start

Product: HP Photosmart Premium All-in-one (C309g)
    OS: Vista Business 32 bit
    Errors:
When running the "Add Device" portion of set up to add the printer to my PC so it can be accessed wirelessly this pops up in the back ground: "The specified service does not exist as an installed service."
The result of the above process is the following message in the HP installer screen: "The HP software that enables networking is not responding. Cancel the installation and restart the PC."
As you may guess, I've had this printer for a while couple/few years at least, and I've been running it wireleslly for quite some time.
The printer is active on my wireless network, printing Wireless Network Test Report from the printer proves this. I can also access the printer's webpage by entering its IP in a web browser.
We first perceived the issue when HP Solution Center reported that the Printer was no longer connected. And it suggested doing something with the install, which sent me down the road of unintalls and installs.
I've run the HP Print and Scan Doctor, which tells me the printer is installed for use via USB, but the networked instance is not installed.
I still have the orginal instal CD for this printer. Running setup off the root of the CD, i get the "Later Version already installed" or something to that extent.  I've also downloaded the most recent Basic and Full Feature Instals from HP site.
I've used Revo Uninstaller to do my uninstalls and I've run CCleaner after all the apps are gone from the program list.
I've read somewhere that this is related to the "HP Network Devices Support" service.
In computer management I can see that its not running, and it is set to start "Automatically (Delayed Start)"
When I try to start this service I get this: "Windows could not start the HP Network Devices Support service on local computer Error 2: They system could not find the file specified"
Somethings that have been done on this machine recently, i'm not sure when the Printer problem started...
    Installed Quicken 2013
    Installed iTunes
Changed my home network from Public to private on this machine so I could set up some media servers.
I've check through all the quarantined files of my antivirus and there didn't seem to be any HP files in there.
I'm  hoping my issue is in fact this service, and somehow replacing the missing file its refferencing will fix it all.
My next step is to uninstall everything again, and make sure that service drops out of the list too, then reinstall from HP download.
    This question was solved.

I would suggest using the software scrubber built into the install to clean everything out. The steps below will walk you through it.  Before doing step 10 from a CD or step 15 from a download, check the both program files folder to make sure that the HP folders get deleted.
    From original printer installation CD:
    1. Insert CD into drive, and then cancel the installer
    2. Open My Computer, and then right click on the CD drive and chose open
    3. Open folder Util
    4. Open folder CCC
    5. Run the uninstall_ L4.bat for non-HP computers.  For HP computers run the Uninstall_L3.bat
    6. When the uninstall has completed restart the computer
    7. Run Disk cleanup from Accessories\ System Tools
    8. Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player

    9. Use this tool to clean the registry.  Note: This utility is not HP sponsored or approved.  HP and I are not responsible for damages or loss of data caused by the utility.  This step is optional.   You can skip it if you want.

  • How do I re-install the HP Network Devices Support Service?

It is not listed under Services and Applications from My Computer.  I am running Windows 7.
I have an Officejet 6500 wireless all-in-one.  I can still print; however, when I start the HP Solution Center app, I get an error message that says the printer is not connected but I can print.
This is a problem because I would like to do some scanning but I can't.
Do I need to un-install and re-install?  I'm hoping all I have to do is download some file to re-install this service.
    Please let me know.
    Regards,
    Dave

There is no driver from HP for your printer that would work on an Intel Mac, and I'm almost sure they won't release a driver for all but their very latest printers.
There is an open source driver included with OS X for Intel that you can use, though. Go to System Preferences > Print & Fax and add a new USB printer. Select "HP DeskJet 900 series - Gimp-Print v5.0.0-beta2" as the driver.

  • Apple Device Support service affect Outlook 2007 from send to starting

With Apple Device support install, I cannot sent to:mail recipient with right-click in IE or File explorer. Once I uninstall ADS all work OK with Outlook 2007.
Anyone have a solution to keep it install, cause I have an IPhone 3gs and need to to sync. But I lose the ability to start Outlook 2007 with a right-click send to. I can start Outlook manually and then the right-click send to work OK.

I too have the same problem. Is there anyone who can help?

  • ITunes install fail -  Apple Mobile Device Support not installing - Windows 8

So I have a Windows 8 Pro system, and I've had to reinstall iTunes. Anyway I've been completely unable to do so. It simply either gets an error and does not install (where does itunes store its installer log files so I can see whats happening?) at all or it gets to the part where its starting up services and it fails when its trying to install and start the Apple Mobile Device Support service and so when I start iTunes I get an error message like this one:
"This iPad cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the itunes installer to remove itunes, then install the 64bit version of itunes"
I've tried several times to uninstall and manually delete all the files related to itunes, but this has made no impact.
I have no idea what to do. Reinstalling my OS and all the apps just to get iTunes back really isn't something i want to do.

All sorted now.  Sorry b noir, but I cannot remember the error.  What I did was use the idea from another thread to copy the necessary files from one computer to another.  Fortunately I have a laptop on 8 so updated iTunes and coppied all the files from the /Program Files (x86)/Common Files/Apple/Mobile Device Support.  I then downloaded 2 programs to make the necessary registry entries.  This did not fully work so I searched the laptop registry for the version number of Mobile Device Support and then put it into the same desktop registry key.  This worked as I was now at the correct version.

  • 13017 Received TACACS+ packet from unknown Network Device or AAA Client

I am adding new routers to our Corporate network for a new MPLS network.  I am getting 13017 Received TACACS+ packet from unknown Network Device or AAA Client  errors for these new routers.  They are added to ACS 5.4.0.30 correctly just like all of our other devices.  We have never had real routers on the network before, just switches and access points.  Is there something special I need to set in ACS for these to work and authenticate correctly?  I can only access the currently with built in login locally.

  • Apple mobile device support was not installed on your computer, help please!

I bought iphone 6+ yesterday but when I connect it to the computer, itunes did not find it and there has no charging sign.
When I connect my iphone 4s to the computer, itunes detect it and the charging sign was there.
I thought it must be itunes' problem so I uninstall itunes and when I want to reinstall itunes, the problem came.
It start to rolling back action after copying new files.
Then I tried to uninstall appleapplicationsupport, bonjour, applemobiledevicesupport.
When I start to reinstall apple mobile device support, it encountered errors and start to rolling back.
    Please help me!

Follow the instructions here for correctly removing and reinstalling iTunes: Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 - Apple Support
If you don't have any of these operating systems there's a link on the page for XP.
If you have a Mac just drag the iTunes app from the Applications folder to trash, empty trash, then download and install a clean copy from http://apple.com/itunes.

  • Where is the network - workspace - device management's log? what is the name of the network - workspace - device's service?

    Hi guys!
I want to know where can I set up the network -> workspace -> device management's log and get the log and what is the name of the network -> workspace -> device's service? Thank you for your answers.

Forget hotel technical support. All they'll do is refer you to a toll free number to the other side of the globe where somebody will tell you to click a Start button, or something. It's an utter waste of time.
What you describe is a "captive network" and yes, the need to authenticate each and every time you shut down your Mac or let it sleep is a common annoyance. The IT idiots that sold the Internet package to the hotel chain is long gone. Complain to whomever you can find, and perhaps one day they'll address their own incompetence. Until then keep your Mac connected, don't shut it down or let it sleep. Even then you may find yourself logged out from time to time, which you might not even become aware of until web pages stop loading. You can do nothing to fix it, other than to refuse to frequent that hotel chain. Be sure to tell them why.

Yes another user with problem with Apple Mobile Device Support, I am getting the error message: Service 'Apple Mobile Device'(Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Vertify that you have sufficient privileges to start system service....I hit retry and it came up again. I hit ignore and it prompted me to hit finish so Itunes can open.   I looked thru alot of these posts on here to try and resolve this problem myself but it's not working too well...I downloaded Itunes to my desktop so I can right click it with the program i downloaded called WinRAR. I extracted it and then went into the folder called Itunes64setup. I saw the file called AppleMobileDeviceSupport64 in there so I began to try and download it on it's own. Well that didn't work as I planned and got this error message:
Apple Mobile Device Support wasn't installed on your computer. The installer encountered errors before Apple Mobile Device Support could be configured. Your system has not been modified. To retry these operations at a later time, please run the installer again.
Well I tried to run it again and came up with the same message...I see that some people got great support to help them so I am hoping someone can help me as well. I know "b nor" is very qualfied and hopefully can help me! Please advise what I can do. Thank you

    Hi Iss9243,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!

  • Apple Mobile Device Support fails to install. Log file provided.

I have uninstalled the older version of itunes and all associated files in the reccommended order. In particular I have verified all Apple Mobile Device files, services and registry entries have been removed. I then downloaded itunes version 11.0.3 to my PC and installed the product. Other than AMDS the product loaded onto my PC and appears to work ok, including being able to recognise my ipod. Unfortunately itunes does not recognise my iphone.
However, the install produced two error messages.
    First Error:
    Program Files\itunes\ipodUpdaterExt.dll failed to register.

    Second Error:

During the install, the program 'rolled back' the portion related to AMDS. To further analyse the problem I extracted the AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi from the itunes64Setup.exe file. I ran the .msi file as the System Administrator and produced a log file. The log file partially contained the following:

  • Several errors: missing MSVCR80.dll, "Service 'Apple Mobile Device' failed to start", Error 7

I have been trying all morning to re-install iTunes, but continually receive the following errors:
"Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start.  Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services."
"iTunes was not installed correctly,  Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 126)"
"iTunesHelper.exe - System Error: The program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer.  Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."
I have found a solution on iTunes support for the Error 7 message and followed the instructions, but the problem was not resolved.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes several times (I am doing all of this through the administrator sign on on my Windows 7 PC), and still receive these errors.  I have purchased a registry cleaning tool to try to fix the .dll error and it was not resolved.  I can't even get iTunes to install properly on my computer and have lost all use of the program.  I am at a loss as to what to do!!  Can anyone help!!

    Hi greenapple74,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  This article has steps you can take for the errors you're seeing:

  • Errors with Apple Mobile Device Support- won't install!

I've been grappling with getting iTunes 9 to recognize my iPhone for a month now (BUT iPod mini is syncing fine.) After multiple troubleshooting efforts with this forum, Apple Support articles, and actual Apple employees, I finally realized the error is with AMDS. In the times I've tried reinstalling iTunes, everything except AMDS was fine. For AMDS, it would always say "Rolling back action".
So I decided to extract the iTunes setup file, access AMDS.msi and repair/reinstall. Didn't work because it rolled back again. Took more tips reading other threads by uninstalling, rebooting, and installing AMDS, but STILL rolling back. I even renamed the Apple file (ProgramFiles/CommonFiles/Apple I believe) and it's still rolling back! I have no idea why.
Plus in my Common Files I have multiple Apple files. There's Apple, Apple(2) and Apple(5). I tried renaming all of those and still get the rolling back and error message from AMDS. Any ideas?

Okay ... so it's not (or at least, vastly less likely to be) shonky AMDS installation configuration information that we're dealing with here.
Right ... let's try making some forward progress again. (Best to print out a copy of the instructions ... you won't be able to use a browser at one point in proceedings.)
First, navigate to the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\ folder. If it is present, delete the *Mobile Device Support* folder.
    Now, uninstall your iTunes.
Now, download and save a copy of the iTunes installer to your hard drive. (Don't run the install on line, and don't install from the downloaded file just yet.)
Reboot the PC. Don't open any applications. Disconnect from your network and/or the internet. Disable your Security Software (antivirus, firewall, antispyware).
Now start the iTunes install by doubleclicking the iTunesSetup.exe you downloaded earlier.
After the install attempt, you can reenable your Security software and then reconnect to the internet.
... Any better luck with that install attempt?
