Network Error - Unable to submit podcast

Hi all
This is my first post for help so I was wondering if anyone could take the time out to help me.
I have recently coded some xml to create a podcast which works when I manually enter the url in itunes (see pic below) but when I create a request to add the feed, it doesn't upload it instead states that the network connection has stopped. During this time, my internet connection doesn't drop so Im sure the problem lies within itunes.
Now, I have contacted itunes support who advised me that my feed isn't valid.
But like I said above, I have submitted my link manually and have downloaded all episodes. This has been tested and confirmed on another internet connection and operating system too.
My question is, please could someone possibly look at my feed and advise if an issue lies within there as the feed validtor does state a few errors, but it still downloads episodes?

Also an example of me manually adding the podcast in itunes http://www.perceptionfm.info/junk/podcastExample.png
Thanks for your time.
James

When you subscribe manually the Store is not involved at all: your own iTunes application is going straight to the feed. Sometimes the Store will choke on something which doesn't cause problems when subscribing manually.
FeedValidator throws up a number of errors: I don't know whether any of these may cause a submission problem but you should look at them - there are help links which may give some indication of the problem.
Also, in another thread a few people have suggested that there may be a problem with submissions due to server difficulties: I don't know anything about this and of course one can't test it without having something to submit. Possibly it may resolve itself - but do look at the FeedValidator report.

    any idea about this?

You tell us that this happens on one client. Are there other clients which work ok? If so then I would wonder about some problem with the install of the client on this PC. Perhaps you might un-install and install again?

  • Unable to submit podcast due "Enable byte range requests" error

Hi, I'm trying to submit a podcast feed but the "enable byte range requests" error shows, I'm in the full control of the server so I've tested from another server and the header seems to be correct:

Any ideas why iTuns keeps showing me that error?
    Thanks in advance

Now iTunes accepted my podcast submition, the previous feed had near 100 chapters, so I deleted most of them keeping just 4 chapters.

  • Unable to submit podcast - "We had difficulty downloading episodes from your feed"

    Hi there,
I had tried submitting my podcast feed onto iTunes: http://thecity.sg/media-resour…..e/?podcast
However, I was unable to and the following prompt was given "We had difficulty downloading episodes from your feed".
Anyone able to explain or help out?

The problem lies with the URLs for your media files. Looking at the most recent episode, the URL is
    http://thecity.sg/media-resource/?show&file_name=12Jan14_DanielChua_The%20Master %20Key.mp3
    which redirects to
    http://thecity.sg//wp-content/uploads/sermons/12Jan14_DanielChua_The%20Master%20 Key.mp3
when entered in a browser, and the file plays there as it should. When subscribing manually in iTunes it does work OK. However, because of the problems which are caused in XML by having an ampersand ('&') the feed has rendered the URL as
    http://thecity.sg/media-resource/?show&file_name=12Jan14_DanielChua_The%20Master %20Key.mp3
replacing the ampersand with the code & as would be correct if it were in a description or other text tag. If you enter this changed URL in a browser you get a web page, and presumably this is what the Store is seeing.
This use of server-side scripting to handle your file access is asking for trouble and you would be better off using the actual URL of the file,
    http://thecity.sg//wp-content/uploads/sermons/12Jan14_DanielChua_The%20Master%20 Key.mp3
While we're looking at this, your filename has spaces in it. Spaces are not allowed in a URL and the feed has correctly substituted the code %20 for each space, so it does work; but it's preferable not to do this. The usual practice is to substitute an underscore for each space as you have already done for part of the file name.

  • Unable to submit podcasts to iTunes, with iWeb links.

Everytime I submit the RSS link to iTunes I get this message.
    Error parsing feed: Invalid XML
I'm copying the link straight from the published iWeb page, .mac site.
I'm so confused. Any help would be appreciated.

Libsyn.com is just a hosting service? But my clients want to be searchable on iTunes. I'll email you if I found out anything. Thanks

    Hey all,
Since upgrading to iOS7 on my iPhone 4S, the Podcasts app is no longer able to download new Podcasts directly from the app. I keep getting the error "Unable to Download Podcast" with the option to Retry, which always fails. This happens on both 3G and WiFi This error applies to any of my Podcast subscriptions. It was working fine on iOS 6.1.3. I have tried deleting it and re-installing it. I've toggled the Podcast app Settings. I have an iPad 3 WiFi and I haven't had the issue.
Anyone else experiencing this? Anyone know how to fix it?
    Thanks,

    Hi neocec!
I have a couple of suggestions for you that will help you troubleshoot this issue. First, you should try to reset the iOS device by following these instructions:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
If you are still experiencing issues after attempting that troubleshooting step, you will want to restore your iOS device according to these instructions:

    Hi Shanti,
    Thank for reply.
I have checked with same user in both consumer & producer portals, In that case its working fine.
If you checked with other consumer users its asking password.
For this I have tried usermapping with producer id under goto personolize -->remote iviews --> select default alias -->enter id/pwd and save  for other consumer id.
How we manage  for all consumer users, is there any option to mapping to all users at time.
    really appriciate your inputs.
    Regards,
    Mahee.

The missing opening tags problem was caused by your pasting the contents into the forum and is not present in the actual feed. However you have two serious and two minor faults.
    Your media file URL is
    http://phmedia.mediaimages.net:1935/vod/_definst_/mp4:0165/12061_13536.mp4/playl ist.m3u8
This isn't a media file, it's a m3u playlist at 4kB. You need to provide a direct link to your media file and the URL must end with an extension, e.g. mp4
Your 'itunes:image' is a png which appears to be a screenshot: it should be 1400 x 1400 px or the feed won't be accepted, and it must be less the 500kB. You should choose a logo which will work when reduced to the size on the Store page.
You are missing what should be the first line of your feed:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    Your 'pubdate' tag reads
    <pubDate>Thu Feb 20 02:39:12 EST 2014</pubDate>
There should be a comma after the 'Thu' and the '2014' should be after 'Feb', not at the end.
    Your 'itunes:duration' tag reads
    <itunes:duration>0:0:29</itunes:duration>
    It should read
    <itunes:duration>0:00:29</itunes:duration>
These last three are not fatal but should be addressed.
Finally, your title is 'iTunes1' which is valid but not a good title. You should choose something which gives an idea of the content.

  • IOS6 - Wi-Fi on iPad gives error "Unable to join network"

IMPORTANT: This discussion question relates to a specific error affecting iPad users. Please make certain that your comment refers to the same error.
    Problem
Attempting to connect to a home, Wi-Fi network on iPad3 running iOS 6 (64G, Wi-Fi) always returns the error "Unable to join the network "NetworkName" ".
    Background
    - Router is a Netgear WGT624v3, running the latest firmware, with no bells and whistles enabled. Bog-standard wireless. No extended range, no high-speed mode--nothing.
    - Network mode is WPA2-PSK [AES].
    - Prior to the iOS 6 update, my iPad3 connected to my network without any problems.
    - I have reset the router and tried other authentication protocols.
    - I have reset the iPad3. I have restored the iPad. I have reset the iPad's network settings.
    - I have emptied the Safari data, turned off Siri, and disabled location information.
    - I have enabled Auto proxy, used Airplane mode, and disabled 'Ask to join networks'.
    - If it has been suggested on these forums, I have tried it.
    - Nothing so far has fixed this problem. I cannot login to my WiFi at all, not even for a moment.
    - In other words: this is different than the issue some people were having where they could log in, but were kicked off and redirected to an apple login page. I have never been able to login at home. My login is rejected.
    Notes
Using the computer at my university, where we have a Wi-Fi connexion with login page, worked. I typed my password, and Wi-Fi logged on as normal, after which the university login page appeared. It worked fine all afternoon. When I came home, it still did not work with my home network.
    Presumed Cause
The only thing that has changed since the iPad was working is the installation of iOS 6. Therefore, this appears to be an issue with iOS 6.

    Da Brotha,
Your solution does not solve this issue, unfortunately. This is probably because our issue is particular to Netgear routers, and you do not have a Netgear router. Therefore, the problem you were experiencing seems to have been a different issue (though it may have seemed initially similar).
    Capt. Kanuck,
I think you are misunderstanding this issue. This is not an issue of being able to login for a bit, and then not being able to do so later. People affected by this problem cannot login to Wi-Fi at all, ever (not even for a moment), regardless of rebooting the router. It affects several models of Netgear routers.
I've posted over on this thread: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4313126?tstart=0 about this issue in more detail. Apple is now aware of the issue and their engineers are working on it, and I will be updating the thread there as I receive information from their senior technical advisors. I have been promised timely updates on the progress of this issue, including a timeframe if necessary.
Bottom line, though: don't expect it to be fixed tomorrow. Stay tuned, I guess (or, alternately, plump for a new router). Hardly the best possible news, I know.

  • Unable to download podcasts on home network thru router on broadband modem

    HELP!
In the last month or so, I am unable to download podcasts thru out home network. Have 2 imacs, one connected wirelessly (N) and one ethernet on a Belkin Router connected to a Motorola Broadband Modem (DHCP). When podcasts are refreshed and begin to download, the downloads often stop. My research reveals that the podcast downloads cause all the machines on the network to become disconnected from the router with the exception of a TIVO connection. Thus no internet access across the VPN. The router remains connected to the internet, and if restarted, the network machines are restored. Wondering if I need to configure a Proxy Server for the VPN and for ITunes handshaking? Guidance appreciated.

Updated information: It appears, according to the Belkin Firewall Security Log, that the podcast downloads are being interrupted by the router which lists the event as a DoS Attack from my ISP address registered to the internet service provider (Comcast). Gathering this is based on high udp activity on port 80 (Can you tell I a over my head here?). I know I can configure certain port privileges in the firewall settings, downloaded the apple port sheets somewhere.......

hi im new apple  ,ac book pro user ..Bought a mac 3 weeks before my mac does not show serial number on screen .Also I am unable to sign in imessage n facetime it gives network error like though i can access web site n etc  .! What can be this issue n how to solve it??

    Hi,
If the machine is brand new I don't see why the serial Number is missing (it is entered on to a special chip at the factory)
However if the machine is a return and has been refurbished then the Logic/mother board may have been changed and someone forgot to put the info back to the new board.

  • Error when trying to submit podcast RSS feed.

I was just trying to publish my podcast and submit the rss feed to itunes. To do this i simply went to file>submit podcast to itunes. I did this using iWeb, but for some reason every time I do this it gives me an error message. I cant figure out what im doing wrong, I thought iWeb was supposed to make a working RSS feed automatically. Also, after hitting publish to .Mac, I went to .mac and clicked my site, but the site is not at all updated, instead it is the old site. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

If you did a "Publish All to .Mac" and remembered to empty your browser cache, it would seem that you are not connected to .Mac.
This would also explain your failure to upload the RSS feed.
However, I notice that somebody else is having this problem...

    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
