Network user ID and Domain in HR infotypes

Hi,
I have an requirement to retrive network user id and domain based on SAP user id from HR infotypes. Does anyone knows in which infotype can i find these fields.
Regards
Hema

Hi Hema,
<b>1</b>.
Infotype :<b>0105</b>.
Database table for that IT :<b>PA0105</b>.
<b>2</b>.
Write Select query like this .
SELECT pernr
from PA0105
into l_pernr
where subty = '0001'
and usrid = SAP user ID
and  begda le sy-datum
and  endda ge sy-datum.
SELECT usrid
from PA0105
into l_usrid
where Pernr = l_pernr
and subty  = '9NWI'
and  begda le sy-datum
and  endda ge sy-datum.
I hope that u will do it .
<b>Thanks,

    Hi GirtsR,
    I am not sure the command to use the SID to accomplish what you want to achieve, if you only know the SID, you could take use Powershell to find the related information, more information, please check:

  • Network user permissions and security

    We seem to have a permissions issue using the DIR
    command.
    We have a process that runs in SQL Server which executes a DIR command on the local network using a UNC path to check that the files generated by another system are all there, as part of an audit report.
    Until this morning all was fine and dandy, we had no issues.
    Last night the IT guys tightened up some permissions on the target directories for security.
    Now a dir \\server\shared\dir_name fails with an
    Access is denied error.
    We can run this command against the local drive or alternate network UNC paths with
    no problems.
    We have the same issue whether we run from within SQL Server using xp_cmdShell or from the Command Prompt (after logging in to the server with the SQL Server account).
    When logged into the server with the account in question, it is possible to browse the network, so Explorer permissions are ok
    So it is not related to the SQL Server, nor is it related to the SQL Server Agent account.
    It is specific to the rights of one network directory.
    Thing is the sql server agent account is part of a domain group that DOES have Dir permissions on the target network directory.
    We also can no longer use Dir against that network share from our own accounts, even though we are in a domain group that has Full Permissions on the directory!
    So what is going on here - is it possible that somehow the Dir command has been blocked on that one directory share for just the SQL Server agent user?

    I was a bit puzzled ab about the proper location to ask this question, but I think this forum would be the best location to ask:

  • User Name and Password in weblogic realm while invoking a web service

    Hi,
    I deployed a rpc web service using WLS 7.0 SP2 in HP-UX 11 environment. When I
    invoke the web service through my browser (IE 6.0) using the web services url,
    it brings my service method correctly. From there, if I click the invoke button
    it asks me for a network user name and password under "weblogic" realm??? If I
    provide the admin user credentials (which I supplied while creating my domain)
    it is not accepting that it keeps popping up this network user password window
    over and over. Not sure which username/password I have to provide here to see
    the result of my service.
    If I try to invoke the web service through my client (static) I am getting a connection
    refused exception. I guess either way, I am not able to access my web service.
    In the attached file, I have cut and pasted the client stack trace as well as

    Any ideas would be highly appreciated.

  • Network Users with network homes not really working for me

    I have with great pain setup a OS X Lion server on a Mac Mini that was supposed to be my central server to have 4 network users accounts and all the users data is stored on an external disk array with mounted network homes to the 2 iMacs and 2 Macbooks I have in my home.
    I have gotten it all working and all my Macs are joined to the Open Directory and each User can login as a network users on any of the Macs and get their files via mounted home directory from the server. The home directories on the server are backed up with Time Machine.
    I have found the following items that do not work proberly:
    1) Desktop backgrounds settings are just lost sometimes for whatever reason. Desktop background goes to default and you need to manually set back to the one you have selected. This happen mostly if users have their own desktop pictures.
    2) Keychain get's screwed up. The user often get the "Keychain doesn't exist to store ..." message and need to select to reset the keychain. Anything I have tried from "Keychain First Aid" to removing and have a new one created doesn't fix the problem. It keeps on coming back.
    3) iTunes Storage and AppStore are getting confused about authorized computers. This is because a user logs in from another computer and then iTunes store would tell the user this computer hasn't been authorized to play the purchase music. Same happens with iPhone apps from the AppStore. Apparently those two stores are not setup to hanlde network users proberly.
    4) Permission issues happen sometimes in Application like iPhoto where it would complain not being able to see photos or cannot add new photos to the library. Need to run a permission repair on the Iphoto Library to fix this.
    5) One critical one is that it's not really possible to restore files from Time Machine. The Time Machine backup is done on the server by an administrator account directly backing up the user directories. When you go into Time Machine on the server even the admin can drill down into the user directories so no restore possible. The individual users have no idea that there was ever a Time Machine backup done as Time Machine is not setup in their accounts on the individual Macs. This prevents any possible restore.
    I reckon that many of the problems are related to having only one location for ~/Library as the individual Macs are writing their user related settings into this directory in a central location. So what happens is when something on iMac 1 and then I log in on iMac 2 that might not exactly match this Macs config and it get's confused throwing one of the above erors.
    Trouble is witth central network home directory the way they mounted i can't exclude the ~/Library folder. The only option I can see is mobile account because I have seen in the preferences that when they sync the handle Library items differently.
    Does anybody have any experience out there with this sort of thing and can advise what's the best way forward?
    If i can't resolve this I'll go back to have network users with local home directories on each Mac and just setup for each user a network share to which they copy files if they want them available on other Macs. Not as nice but at least it works!
    As a said note I did this to make things easier but it has up to now cost me trouble then i had before!

    Haven't heard anything from anybody so probably to daunting a topic ...
    I have now moved on to try Portable Home Directories (PHD) and syncing ... what a disaster!
    First it took  me ages to get this right as the way the home directores are mounted on the clients from the server it's just weired which has to do with how AFP mounts are implemented. Since one AFP mount can't be mounted by several users on the same system they use a workaround of mounting it to a temp directory and then linking it back to where it should be. Of course this causes major problems.
    Okay it kind of worked so let's move on to syncing PHD. First of all on initial creation it only sync a small portion of the directory that should be okay but on some of my accounts it never went passed this stage. It said it's all synced but it only had synced the first 10% or so of the data. I wasn't able to make it sync anymore.
    On other accounts it correctly synced all the data down, or so I thought. Apparently a few sync session back and forth and 50-60% of the data was gone. On further investigation it turned out to be iTunes and iPhoto libraries. Turns out does don't sync probably via Home Sync!!!
    Apple product is not able to probably syncing Apple specific library files!!!!
    So here my warning to everybody: DO NOT USE PHD and HOME SYNC to sync your data as you will lose stuff if you have iTunes and/or iPhoto libraries with Lion OS X Server!!!
    The whole Lion Server experience has been a disaster for me. Now I have a server that does file sharing and time machine backup sharing. I can do the same thing with a standard Mac using those services. What's the point of Lion Sever for Home if nothing works proberly?

  • I have got both a workgroup & domain user accounts and wish to change this to one account (Win XP)

    To All,
    I know that this sounds a little daft. When I joined my two Win XP clients onto my 2003 Server Domain and since after this I have encountered "multiple" user accounts bearing the same name.
    My clients are "REB2 & REB3" and when I logged into both of these as my Domain I have encountered "separate" accounts for the same User Name in mt Active Directory.
    I know you can have a single User account bearing the same User Name (As I wish to use both clients as Hotdesks).
    I would be grateful for any assistance in regards to this.
    Regards,
    Bob.
    Robert Brindle MCP, MCSA & MCSE.

    Hi,
    Based on my experience, it is not possible to create two accounts with the same name in a domain.
    In addition, workgroup accounts and domain accounts are different and they have no influences to each other generally. In a workgroup, no computer has
    control over another computer and all PCs must be on the same local network or subnet. Besides, to log on to any PC in the workgroup, you must have an account on that PC.  However, in a domain, it usually has DCs and the domain members can be on different
    local networks. If you have a user account in the domain, you can log on to any PC on the domain without needing an account on that PC.
    If I misunderstood anything, please feel free to let me know. I would appreciate it if you can describe it more clearly.
    Best regards,
    Susie

  • Sharing an iTunes Library across multiple user account and a network.

    Sharing an iTunes Music Library across multiple user accounts.
    Hello Everybody!
    Firstly, this was designed to be run in Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger. It will not work with earlier versions of Mac OS X! Sorry.
    Here's a handy tip for keeping your hard drive neat and tidy, it also saves space, what in effect will be done is an iTunes music library will be shared amongst multiple users on the same machine. There are advantages and disadvantages to using this method.
    • Firstly I think it might be worthwhile to state the advantages and disadvantages to using this approach.
    The advantages include:
    - Space will be saved, as no duplicate files will occur.
    - The administrator will be able to have complete control over the content of the iTunes library, this may be useful for restricting the content of the Library; particularly for example if computer is being used at and education institution, business or any other sort of institution where things such as explicit content would be less favorable.
    - The machine will not be slowed by the fact that every user has lots of files.
    The disadvantages to this system include.
    - The fact that the account storing the music will have to be logged in, and iTunes will have to be active in that account.
    - If the account housing the music is not active then nobody can use the iTunes library.
    - There is a certain degree of risk present when an administrator account must be continually active.
    - Fast User Switching must be enabled.
    Overview:
    A central account controls all music on the machine/network, this is achieved by storing iTunes files in a public location as opposed to in the user's directory. In effect the system will give all users across the machine/network access to the same music/files without the possibility of files 'doubling up' because two different users like the same types of music. This approach saves valuable disk space in this regard and may therefore prove to be useful in some situations.
    This is a hearty process to undertake, so only follow this tutorial if you're willing to go all the way to the end of it.
    Process:
    Step 1:
    Firstly, we need to organize the host library, I tidied mine up, removing excess playlists, random files, things like that. this will make thing a bit easier in the later stages of this process.
    Once the library is tidied up, move the entire "iTunes" folder from your Home directory to the "//localhost" directory (The Macintosh HD) and ensure that files are on the same level as the "Applications", "Users", "Library" and "System" directories; this will ensure that the files in the library are available to all users on the machine (this also works for networks)
    Optionally you can set the ownership of the folder to the 'administrator' account (the user who will be hosting the library.), you may also like to set the permissions of 'you can' to "Read & Write" (assuming that you are doing this through the user who will host the library); secondly you should set the "Owner" to the administrator who will be hosting the library and set their "access" to "Read & Write" (this will ensure that the administrator has full access to the folder). The final part of this step involves setting access for the "Others" tab to "Read Only" this will ensure that the other users can view but not modify the contents on the folder.
    Overview:
    So far we have done the following steps:
    1. Organized the host library.
    2. Placed the iTunes directory into a 'public' directory so that other users may use it. (this step is essential if you plan on sharing the library across multiple accounts on the same machine. NOTE: this step is only necessary if you are wanting to share you library across multiple accounts on the same machine, if you simply want to share the music across a network, use the iTunes sharing facility.
    3. set ownership and permissions for the iTunes music folder.
    Step 2:
    Currently the administrator is the only user who can use this library, however we will address this soon. In this step we will enable iTunes music sharing in the administrator's account, this will enable other users to access the files in the library.
    If you are not logged in as the administrator, do so; secondly, open iTunes and select "Preferences" from the "iTunes" menu, now click the "Sharing" tab, if "share my library on my local network" is not checked, the radio buttons below this will now become active, you may choose to share the entire libraries contents, or share only selected content.
    Sharing only selected content may be useful if their is explicit content in the library and minors use the network or machine that the library is connected to.
    If you have selected "share entire library" go to Step 3, if you have selected share "share selected playlists" read on.
    After clicking "share selected playlists" you must then select the playlists that you intend to share across your accounts and network. Once you have finished selecting the playlists, click "OK" to save the settings.
    Overview:
    In this step we:
    1. Enabled iTunes sharing in the administrator's account, now, users on the local network may access the iTunes library, however, users on the same machine may not.
    Step 3:
    Now we will enable users on the same machine to access the library on the machine. This is achieved by logging in as each user, opening iTunes, opening iTunes preferences, and clicking "look for shared music". now all users on the machine may also access the library that the administrator controls.
    This in effect will mean that the user will not need to use their user library, it will be provided to them via a pseudo network connection.
    As a secondary measure, I have chosen to write a generic login script that will move any content from the user's "Music/iTunes/iTunes Music" directory to the trash and then empties the user's trash.
    This is done through the use of an Automator Application: this application does the following actions.
    1. Uses the "Finder" action "Get Specified Finder Items"
    1a. The user's "~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music" folder
    2. Uses the "Finder" action "Get Folder Contents"
    3. Uses the "Finder" action "Move to Trash"
    4. Uses the "Automator" action "Run AppleScript"
    4a. with the following:
    on run {input, parameters}
    tell application "Finder"
    empty trash
    end tell
    return input
    end run
    IMPORTANT: Once the script is adapted to the user account it must be set as a login item. in order to keep the script out of the way i have placed it in the user's "Library" directory, in "Application Support" under "iTunes".
    Overview:
    Here we:
    1. Enabled iTunes sharing in the user accounts on the host machine, in effect allowing all users of the machine to view a single iTunes library.
    2. (Optional) I have created a login application that will remove any content that has been added to user iTunes libraries, this in effect stops other users of the machine from adding music and files to iTunes.
    Step 4:
    If it is not already enabled, open system preferences and enable Fast User Switching in Accounts Options.
    Summary:
    We have shared a single iTunes library across multiple user account, while still allowing for network sharing. This method is designed to save space on machines, particularly those with smaller hard drives.
    I hope that this hint proves to be helpful and I hope everybody will give me feedback on my process.
    regards,
    Pete.

  • Question on how to Hide the User Name, Password, and Domain fields in the MDT Wizard

    MDT 2012 U1
    Deploying Windows 7 via Offline Media (ISO) to MS Virtual PC's
    I am looking on how to Hide the User Name, Password, and Domain fields which are prepopulated in the MDT wizard via the CS.ini (Not so concerned about the Domain field as I am User Name and Password)
    We do need the Computer Name and OU fields to be seen, so skipping the wizard is not a option
    The client just does not want these fields to be seen by the end users, they dont want them to even know the account name used for adding the machine to the domain, of course the password is not displayed but it must not be displayed either.
    But since we use the fields they must still  be fuctional just not seen.
    Thanks.....
    If this post is helpful please click "Mark for answer", thanks! Kind regards

    You shouldn't have to edit DeployWiz_Definition_ENU.xml. You should only need to add "SkipAdminPassword=YES" to the CS.ini file and your authentication information.
    Example:
    [Settings]
    Priority=Default
    Properties=MyCustomProperty
    [Default]
    OSInstall=Y
    SkipCapture=NO
    SkipAdminPassword=YES
    UserID=<MyUserID>
    UserPassword=<MyPassword>
    UserDomain=<MyDomain.com>
    SkipProductKey=NO
    SkipComputerBackup=YES
    SkipBitLocker=NO
    -Nick O.
    Nick,
    SkipAdminPassword=YES is for:
    You can skip the Administrator Password wizard page by using this property in the
    customsettings.ini.
    I am hidding the Username/Password/and domain field in the computer name Wizard pane which is read from the cs.iniDomainAdmin=xxxxx
    DomainAdminPassword=xxxxx
    DomainAdminDomain=xxxxxx
    JoinDomain=xxxxxx

  • How to get "fast user switching" and network shares playing nice

    I've been alternating between banging my head against a wall and reading every forum I could find to try and get a reasonable compromise between using "Fast user switching" and sharing a folder from a file server.  It baffles me how the network share/mount model of OSX/AFP is completely killed by fast-user-switching; this is a big problem with Apple requiring users to be actively logged in to share music/video from iTunes which therefore essentially requires fast-user-switching if anyone else wants to use the computer.  (anyone find it odd that you can share files without being logged in, but sharing songs requires an active login for each user who is sharing?  Apple: time to make iTunes sharing a service!)
    For the sake of example, lets just say I want to share my /Groups folder from my desktop and have it be accessible to my laptop.  Here are all the things that I tried:
    Apple Method 1) Share /Groups in the Server.app on the desktop (running Lion Server), use finder on the laptop and drag the share icon to "Login Items", alternative use a startup Apple script using "mount volume"  Both of the options work and will mount the /Groups folder under /Volumes/Groups, of course when the second person logs in via fast-user-switching (and occasionally the first person for no apparent reason), they will get /Volumes/Groups-1 since /Volumes/Groups is already taken.  Tomorrow we log in a different order and now the previously /Volumes/Groups-1 user has their mount at /Volumes/Group and vice versa.  Any links, aliases, finder sidebar references, and application settings which pointed to yesterday's location are now BROKEN.  Not very user friendly to my mother-in-law who is trying to find those pictures of the kids and doesn't know anything about mount points. I also can't reasonably mirror the file location structure on the desktop so that application preferences that are synced between the two (portable home directories) work.   fail.
    Apple Method 2) Use automounter and set up by hand direct maps for /Groups or an indirect maps for the children of /Groups.  Now it will automatically get mounted to /network/servers/SERVER/Groups/ on the laptop and on the desktop it will automatically create a similar symlink structure so that the same path (/network/servers/SERVER/Groups) work both on desktop and laptop.  Cool.  Except when the second person logs in, the /network/servers/SERVER/Groups/ mountpoint is already owned by the first user and they don't have any permissions to access it.  Fail.
    Apple Method 3) Use mount_afs and specify directly the mount-points.  Have each user have their own startup AppleScript which mounts /Groups to a different location (e.g. /Users/Shared/username/Groups) that way they don't conflict with multiple users.  On the desktop, set up symlinks from /Users/Shared/username/Group to /Groups so that it will be the same as the client and applications settings will work when synchronized back/forth by portable-home-directories.  Will it work, yes it does, but what a bear to maintain.  Is this really what I should expect to do just to have multiple users on my desktop and laptop (which again is essentially required now if I want to do any type of iTunes sharing).  This can't be what apple expects.
    What I ended up doing - the "not quite apple" solution.
    Non-Apple Method 4) After a read of "Autofs: Automatically Mounting Network File Shares in Mac OS X" (http://images.apple.com/business/docs/Autofs.pdf) at the very end there is a single paragraph  of "Kerberized NFS": "A Kerberized NFS mount can have multiple connections from multiple users, each using the correct user’s credentials for each transaction. This allows administrators to support multiple users, each authenticated with their own credentials to the same mount point. This is very different from AFP and SMB mounts," (emphasis mine)
    It appears that by using good 'ole NFS (abeint with Kerberos for security!) you can actually have multiple users on the same mount point.  Roughly following the guidance at https://support.apple.com/kb/TA24986?viewlocale=en_US.  What I needed to do was:
    1) create /etc/exports on my desktop and add a single line "/Groups -sec=krb5".  The existence of /etc/exports triggered a start of nfsd which no longer has any GUI options in Lion.
    2) Add a line to /etc/auto_master on my laptop "/-  auto_mymounts" to reference a new direct map.
    3) Create /etc/auto_mymounts and add a single line "/Groups         SERVER:/Groups" to create the direct map.
    THAT'S IT.  Three lines in three files.
    Now when I log into my laptop, there is a /Groups that is a network mount of my desktop's /Groups, same location AND it works for all of my users, even simultaneously.
    In the end I'm happy with what I've got, but man was this a difficult path just to support fast-user-switching.  In Lion, Apple appears to be getting away from NFS (no longer turned on by default and remove from the GUI controls) but clearly this really useful functionality which doesn't exist in AFP.
    I'm really curious, after all this work.  Any other ways to accomplish this?

    In my example above, yes I chose to mount the share "Groups" to the top of the root since that is where I put it on my server and I wanted to keep them similar; but that was just my preference, it isn't a requirement.  You can export and mount from other directories.

  • How can I get Firefox to run on a network with multiple users logging on with the same user name and password?

    I am trying to get Firefox running on a large network where I have multiple users that log on with the same user name and password. The problem is that when another user logs on to another computer the message comes up that their is already an instance of firefox running on that computer even though there really isn't. Only one instance can be run on the network at one time. I believe it is because firefox stores a shared profile as it thinks it is actually the same user even though it is being run on another computer. I repeat that each user that logs on uses the same user name and password but on different computers.
