New 5th G Ipod keeps freezing

Is it normal for an Ipod I have had for 2 weeks to freeze 4 times out of the 8 times I have used it. I reset it each time but is that normal? It says I have the most updated software - I have I Tunes 7

I bought my IPOD from Best Buy 16 months ago and have a 3 year service plan. it worked great until 2 months ago when it froze once or twice - first they restored it and then 2 weeks later after freezing they gave me a refurbished one which also froze and then a new one which continues to freeze.
Never did those Geek squad guys at BB ask about songs from I Tunes but listing that question from Apple makes sense. About 500 of my 1550 songs are songs I downloaded over a year ago frfom Lime Wire.
It was not the same song that froze the last 3 times but all were from Lime Wire not from CD's so I'm wondering if when I have upgraded Ipod and It Tunes software that affected these songs.
Anybody else have this problem? How do I solve it? I hate to lose these songs as there are a lot of great 1 hit wonders? Can I go back to original IPOD software because they never froze until I upgraded software?
I have a workout playlist of 500. To test this theory, I am going to create a second list of only songs from I-Tunes or CD's - no Lime Wire to see if it freezes or not.

Sorry, by saying it was untouched in its box I tried to describe in short that I had not done any kind of set up procedere with it. It's true, I took it out once, connected it to the computer, but nothing happened, it was not detected by the computer. I didn't think this was a problem, just thought this was normal and that I had to somehow 'set up' the ipod for the first time before I could load it with music. My iPod keeps freezing in the middle of songs and even when i plug it into the computer to charge. I've tried to restore it but iTunes rejects it, saying that it has an error. what can I do?

I have an Ipod touch. Recently it has started stopping in the middle of the songs. Sometimes it stops completely and sometimes it goes to the next song.
All the songs is it stopping on are recent purchases from Itunes. A couple of the songs stopped midway while playing them on Itunes. I did unsync the new songs and then added them again.
I tried the reset mentioned above, but it didn't help.
I have over 3000 songs, I'd like to avoid unsyncing and resyncing if at all possible.
the restore to factory defaults removes all the updates, doesn't it?
I'd appreciate any help.

I had this problem with my old 20GB classic ipod, it all started when I began using my ipod for my running trainings, every day it used to get worse freezing every 10 minutos or so, then I got ****** and bought a new 80GB classic Ipod, I have it for about 3 weeks now and guess what? It started freezing or skiping songs also. I did a test where I synced the same library on my both ipod and the songs being skipped on my new one wasnt being skipped on the old one, so its a problem with the song, then I though it could be any damage in the ipod HD but my new ipod has no reason to be damaged, the only impact that it might have recived is from my running trainings, but the impacts are really weak. Other test I did was trying to remove the song being skiped from the ipod, everytime I did that my ipod couldnt be ejcted, it kept showing me the following message "The ipod canot be ejcted because it contains files that are used by another aplication." I had to unplug my ipod without ejecting it.

iPod because it looks like it will only work with iTunes 9. If that's the case I am selling my
new iPod and picking up a 4th generation ipod on eBay.
It looks to a lot of Mac users, like Apple really screwed up iTunes 9 ... and as a result,
may turn many new prospective iPod Nano and iTouch owners off from purchasing any
of the newer iPods until Apple redesigns or seriously modifies iTunes 9.

What exactly are you finding so disgusting in iTunes 9? I have yet to find anything repugnant.
If you want to keep iTunes 8 I would suggest you buy a refurbished 4th Generation from the online iTunes Store and cancel your order for the 5th Generation.

Do you have a 6G Nano? If so, this is usually a sign that your headphones are not plugged all the way in. Make sure you cannot see any silver still showing from the headphone's plug. It may require a little extra force to get the headphones to become fully inserted. You should hear a sort of clicking noise indicating that they have been fully seated.
Also check the headphone port from a damage or debris.

When your iPod freezes, it's not necessary to wait until the battery drains, you should just be able to reset it. If the freezing persists, then try restoring it.
Yes, you should be able to get it serviced under the warranty if the fault persists.

I think as your iPod is still under warranty you should get it serviced, or at least take it to an Apple store if one is nearby.

Migration should never be done with any Adobe program.
If you have done Migration, you have to UNINSTALL first (if even possible) and then download Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool and run that also. When this is done, restart your computer and install the programs from an original Adobe Installer.
Other question is, if your OS is supporting that version. You can try it, it is not officially supported, but it might work.
But CC will work, upgrade to CC2014 (without additional cost), use that as it is better anyway.

Frustrated! iPod keeps freezing when trying to update

My 40G iPod keeps freezing whenever I try to update it. I plug it into the computer, iTunes starts but then freezes after a song or two. Sometimes it crashes me whole machine. In any case, I can't add any music to my iPod, rendering it useless. I've seen s imilar posts but no solutions. I installed the latest iPod updater software and am using the latest version of iTunes. Funnily, this problem didn't start until I upgraded to the newest iTunes. Can anyone help? This is very very frustrating.

Also noticed Apple has suspended downloads of itunes 6 for the time being ... wondering if its a related bug.

Brand New 5th Gen iPod Touch Won't Connect to Wifi

I just got a brand new 5th gen iPod Touch and expected to have a fun night of playing with it, but instead I was trying to figure out why it won't connect to my network. Not a good introduction to a product.
Here is the related info and troubleshooting steps I've already tried:
- It will not connect to my wifi network
- The iPod Touch says "Unable to join the network [network name]" when I try to connect to my network (as opposed to "Could not find the network [network name]" when it is not the correct network name)
- I was able to connect to a random unsecure network nearby
- Of course I power cycled my router and modem to reset them
- My wireless router does not broadcast its SSID; I made it broadcast it and it still didn't connect
- My network is password protected. I tried changing the security type, as well as turning the password off altogether, but nothing worked
- My wireless router is a Netgear WGT624 v3
- Even though it's brand new, I tried resetting the iPod Touch and the network settings
Does anyone have any tips or solutions for this?
I wasn't able to find other people with this problem, at least not with solutions that I haven't tried. It's really frustrating not being able to connect to the internet with my new device.
I will point out that my Android phone connected to my wifi network on the first try with no problems.

What security are yo using with the router?
Try as a test setting the router security to None.
