New iPad - IOS6 - Siri Missing

Hello,
I have the new iPad and I upgraded to iOS 6 this evening. Everything went fine and when I went to look for Siri it was not there? I have the 16 gig model. I spoke to a rep at the Apple Store and he told me "It should be there but does not know why it's not." He directed me to call Apple Support (Apple Care) or to bring it into the store. Has anyone else had this issue? I'm definitely running iOS6 according to my iPad but Siri is not listed under the - General tab - below the usage option.

I would if I remembered my passcode for restrictions. Definitely my fault for not remember it and writing it down. Just yesterday I was reading up on how to possibly retrive my password using a couple of methods I found searching Google. I suspect you'd be correct though but unfortunately I can not get to restrictions just yet. = ( Any suggestion on that?

Good morning, I installed ios6 on the new iPad and siri will not work. Each time I try to use siri she says "uh oh, I'm having a problem. Please try again. I have tried turning siri off and back on again. Resetting the iPad, resetting the network, turning Airplane Mode off and on again. All to know avail. My iphone 5 works great and so does my wife's iphone 4s with ios6. I have called Apple support but there only suggestion was that the servers were busy. If that was the case my other devices would not work either. Plus the servers wouldn't be busy for four days. Any help anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated. I was looking forward to using siri on the new iPad and other folks don't seem to be having a problem.

Then you need to change your device details as this still says iPad2.
It's very possible Apple's servers have been busy for 4 days as not everyone downloaded iOS 6 on the day it was announced. I downloaded it last Friday, myself, as an example.
There are a millions and millions of people using Apple iDevices.
Just because everything went fine with the iOS 6 updates of your iPhone 4 and 5 doesn't mean something couldn't have gone wrong with an update to your iPad3
If the iOS update missed something during the download, I am not sure how to go about re-downloading iOS 6 to fix the issue you are having.

There are parts of your recent post that I do not understand, you can try a few things though.
press and hold the home and sleep/wake buttons until the apple logo appears on the screen, and then let go.
settings/general/reset/reset all settings
if the above do not solve your issue then a complet restore may be necessary.

That would not be Siri, that would be dictation. When you want to say something rather than type it, tap that button and say want you want. All of your words will be changed into text. It's very similar to dragon dictation. Siri currently is just an iPhone 4s thing.

New iPad Without Siri Insanity

I just posted the following to iPad feedback after realizing Siri was not a built-in app on the New iPad I just ordered:
"Just ordered new iPad rev 3. I was astonished that Siri was not a built-in app. I realize Siri is a fantastic, go to assistant for purely mobile devices like the iPhone but my general use of your iPad would utilize Siri at least as much. I sold Macs back in the 90's, (remember Newton), and got a chance to see an Apple produced video vision of the personal assistant. It showed a desktop, voice reactive Mac program for scheduling, mailing, and general information resource access. I've had your first iPad since release and I'm wondering, how that vision would not apply to the iPad. It's my primary, off desk resource. That's the vision I had for iPad! It seems the only barrier is to release the app. Apple! Your still behind your own, 17 year old vision."
Am I off base on this? If enough folks agree, maybe Apple would release the app for iPad. Speak your vision!

I know the "New iPad" has voice dictation, but does it have full Siri integration? And the A5X chip is still Dual core? No Sprint iPad? And its heavier too?

It's 50 grams heavier, presumably for a combination of the retina display, camera, processor, and possibly battery.
Sisr hasn't been mentioned, so I doubt if it's on it. The A5X chip is quad-core

IPad Stolen - New iPad restored but missing apps...

Yesterday my iPad was stolen. Today I went down and maxed out my credit card for a new one.
When I restored from iTunes I got back all the apps except those I purchased on my iPad prior to the theft, but after my most recent sync.
Is there no way to get those apps back? Isn't there a record somewhere of me purchasing them?
The idea of buying them all over again is too much.

FaceTime and iMessage not working on new iPad-ios6

Everything was working fine until the software upgrade. I can not sent or receive any FaceTime or messages. I've even created a new iCloud account and still doesn't work.

I can't get Siri to launch from home button after iOS 6 install on the new iPad with Siri turned on in settings menu. Any Ideas?

Not sure, did you hold down the home button? That's how to get Siri to pop up? And your lucky, iOS 6 won't even install on my iPad 3, any suggestions?

I still ordered one since this will be my first iPad but I'm disappointed that it will not feature Siri. do you guys think that later on the might release a update for the new ipad with Siri?

How you can not see why they wouldn't include it is pretty astounding. Adding 4G+WiFi, new A5X chip for processing.... and the biggest reason to question why it isn't included 'Dictation'- which uses the similar setups for what would be interfacing with Siri... is the reason to wonder why it is not included. Why just have Dictation, which is only useful in Apps that support Texting/Typing? Why exclude it from a device that is being marketed in the company's own Keynote event as a 'Post PC Device' that can be taken and used anywhere... just like a smartphone would be- or even instead of a smartphone?
I think that it would have to be included in an update later on... or unfortunately in a completely separate version at least. The implications of Siri's uses are only at what I would call a Live Beta stage... testing it out on the iPhone, and fine tuning it. With Siri, they could- and should, include it on all of their devices now. But perhaps it is just like the other Apps like iLife, particularly iPhoto, that is in need of further development to support what the iPad can really do.
Siri not on the new iPad... is pretty ridiculous in context. Not a deal breaker, but highly disappointing... and would have ultimately made it a truly separate and NEW iPad as marketed. Add to Siri's development, I can see it being implemented even in simple methods like Apple TV... or perhaps even into the rumored real iOS TV that was claimed to have been 'cracked' in development. Heck...I can even see the uses for it on an iPod!
Basically it boils down to Multifunctionality and integration into and of all Apple devices... so that whichever one buys (if not more than one) operates equally as can be on any other- given the general capabilities or actual limitations of each in comparison.

Yes, it is somewhat confusing isn't it. Almost like, the iPad is having an identity crisis. I believe the official Apple line would be that it is the "New iPad" but I see it referred to the 3rd generation just as frequently as the new iPad.
Siri will be available for the "new iPad/3rd Gen when iOS 6 is released this fall.

Want to know how to display lyrics on my new iPad (iOS6 latest)...
All my songs have lyrics attched, but I can not display them when music plays....

Lyric display is not currently supported on the iPad Music app.
You might check the app store for some alternative music players that do.

Try going into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > select the account > account name , tap on SMTP (under the 'Outgoing Mail Server' heading) and then tap on your Primary Server and try entering your email account and password and see if it then works
