New item instance not firing

Hi all
We are seeing a strange problem in forms 10g R2. the when-new-item-instance trigger is firing only for the first time ou click on the item. subsequent clicks on the item from an another item does not fire this trigger. This trigger was firing all the time whenever you navigate to an item in 6i. Hs the behavior changed,
This is urgent any help is appreciated.

All the forms were initially created and run in AIX (6i patch 13).
We have migrated all these forms to 10g under Linux. The forms run on the users desktop which is XP. As a part of the upgrade we have recompiled all the forms.

When new record instance not firing on Purchase Order form

I query a purchase order and click on the shipment lines button. There are 2 shipment lines in this example. I am using CUSTOM.pll to inject some specific code to restrict the cancel functionality. One line I want to restrict the cancel functionality and the other line I don't want to restrict. The problem arises when I click between the two rows on the Org or Ship to fields. No event or trigger gets fired that I can see; hence, the CUSTOM.pll code does not get injected and the user will be able to cancel both lines. Any ideas? Thank you for your time,

What does that mean? In the middle of creating a record?
But how come system allows me to go to the 2nd tab when it goes to the last record and doesnt allow me to go the 2nd tab when i create in middle of the record
Seems that there is some difference in the data of the two records, maybe one record passing validation and the other one not.Validations are same, both the scenario it just creates a new record.

The same when-new-instance trigger written in form item level and trigger execution hierarchy properties 'OVERRIDE'.

When-Mouse-Click does not fire if When-new-item-instance exists

We are using Forms 6i Patch 12.
The When-Mouse-Click trigger (at block level) is not getting fired when a When-new-item-instance trigger exists on a given item on which mouse is clicked.
We need to synchronize keyboard and mouse events such that if the validation on certain key items fails, the cursor should go to one of the specified items as per the validation rules.
The validation rules are different on leaving from different items. Complex validation rules require cursor to go to a different item than the current item on which the validation fires.
Since go_item cannot be used in when-validate-item, we are using a combination of key-next-item and when-mouse-click.
But, this strategy seems to fail if mouse is clicked over an item having a when-new-item-instance trigger.
Also, we need the When-mouse-click trigger to fire before When-new-item-instance.
Any pointers to solving the firing of trigger or strategy will be appreciated!

Webutil crashes while calling Function in when-new-item-instance-trigger

Hello !
I use Oracle AS 10.1.2 and webutil 1.0.6 and Oracle Forms Developer Version 10.1.2.
When I call the webutilfunctions within a when-button-pressed or post-change trigger, everything works fine.
When I call the webutilfunctions within a when-new-item-instance-trigger i get an error message:
oracle.forms.webutil.file.FileFunctions bean not found.
CLIENT_TEXT_IO.fopen will not work
What are the reasons for this behavior ? How can I solve the problem ?
PLEASE HELP !!!!!!!!

I think that this is well explained in the webutil documentation(pdf).
You cannot use the functions in the initialisation phase of the form, including triggers like When-New-Form-Instance, When-New-Block-Instance,etc...
The workaround is to use a timer to wait the necessary time for the beans to instantiate themselves.

I need a help from you.
1) I have developed an form to browse the client machine and upload the file on server / table
2) Registered the form in Oracle Apps 11.5.10.
3) Currently i am able to open the File_Dialog and browse throught the clients machine
But when ever user selects any file and says Open, i am not able to retrieve the file name. wHEN-CUSTOM-ITEM-EVENT is not
firing. I am sure how we can invoke this CUSTOM-ITEM-EVENT.
To devlop the form i have referred PERWSIMG.fmb - of Oracle (Apps) HRMS which uploads the employee photo in the Database.
Hence i have used the same java code / Implementaion Class.
Please help...

You were right. I re-loaded the zip file and the original version works. Odd, as I don't remember ever modifying those files.
But my original issue still remains.
The only code I've added is this:
Color mycolor = this.getBackground() ;
setBackground(mycolor);to the CalendarFrame constructor. How could this be causing the trigger to not fire?
Could it be the way I created the bean? I copied all the java files to my project, attached the libraries, created a deployment profile. Everything compiles without errors or warnings, and the jar is created without issues. The java console doesn't give any errors either.

New item category not visible in CRM WebUI

Hi,
I am working on CRM 7.0, Leasing Contracts component BT114H_LAM.
I created a new item category for the contract however this is not visible in the WebUI screen. the moment i enter the item it dissappears from the screen. It is available in the item details.
Same item is visible in the Backeng SAP GUI.
Can anyone suggest some solution for the same.
I have done all the customizing required for the new item category in SPRO-Financial Services->Basic Functions->User Interfaces->CRM Web client UI

Spark ComboBox new item does not display in textInput?

I've been playing with s:ComboBox and generally like them a lot. One detail is driving me nuts though - most likely due to my lack of knowledge in the subject - is that if I try to add a new item to my dataprovider in a changeHandler (registered to the change event) the text for the ComboBox textInput disappears - although the item addition works perfectly. Interestingly enough the same operation works fine if it gets called by clicking on a button, i.e. post the change event has been processed, and the text does not disappear. and try to add a new item and hit enter. Is there a way to accomplish this same behavior in the change event handler?

New BOM Items ordered not retained on click ofUpdate in BOB (OOB) shop

Hello Experts,
We are using BOM material in our Business Process. Per Business requirement, the BOM sub-items are not required to be displayed on the Order Page of ISA webshop in OOB scenario.
Hence we have set the parameter "ui.fields.order.bomExplosion"to 'hidden' in XCM Setting.screenshot attached.
After making this change, we are experiencing the issue where we are not able to add any new BOM items to existing Orders, especially in the scenario where all blank line items are filled in with new BOM Products. When we click on Update, the new items are not retained and disappear.
Help is very much appriciated.

Thanks for your response.
We find out the problem this was the SAP product Bug in the class SalesDocumentParser method parseItems the iteration count is worng. Its not taking care about the Bom items. Instead of interating the loop through index SAP is iterating through values. So we implemented the solution for the same.

List items do not refresh correctly.

In a form that i have developed there are two list items. I
want among others to chenge their appearance (background color
basicaly) according to witch one has th focus each time.
So I've put this code on the items, in WHEN-NEW-ITEM-INSTANCE
triger:
* LIST1
SET_ITEM_PROPERTY('LIST1',VISUAL_ATTRIBUTE,'SELECTED');
SET_ITEM_PROPERTY('LIST2',VISUAL_ATTRIBUTE,'GREYED');
* LIST2
SET_ITEM_PROPERTY('LIST2',VISUAL_ATTRIBUTE,'SELECTED');
SET_ITEM_PROPERTY('LIST1',VISUAL_ATTRIBUTE,'GREYED');
The Visual Attributes have the colors that i would like to
appear on the items.
This does not work (while it was working on Forms 5.0). It
seems to be a refresh problem, because when you open another
form that covers this one, or you minimize and maximize it the
colors are assigned corectly.

I am not able to produce this problem. I create one form with
two list item ,two visual attribute & when-new-item-instance
trigger for these two list item as you have written above.
But List item background color of both list item is getting
changed according to witch one has th focus each time.
Even I tried to call this form from some other form still I am
getting correct result.
Can you just try by adding synchronize in the trigger of
both list item.

Where's the WHEN-NEW-BLOCK-INSTANCE trigger gone?

Not a rehash of my famous UKOUG presentation but a genuine question.
If I start up a Form with ENTER_QUERY in the WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE trigger then WHEN-NEW-BLOCK-INSTANCE never fires. I just get a WHEN-NEW-RECORD-INSTANCE. This is true whether the query is executed or cancelled.
I have replicated this behaviour inb both Forms 4.5 and 9i Forms so I assumed this is standard behaviour and well-known by everybody but me. The question is: why is Forms designed like this? I can just about see why WHEN-NEW-BLOCK-INSTANCE might not fire in QUERY-MODE, even though WHEN-NEW-RECORD-INSTANCE does, but why doesn't it fire after the query is executed or cancelled?

I am aware that the when-new triggers do not run in some cases. On the other hand, the post- triggers run over and over again, to the point that I just don't use them because any code put there executes too many times.
If you have several go_item or go_block triggers in a key trigger or when-button-pressed trigger, the when-new-item-instance trigger does not run each time you do a go_item. Instead, the when-new triggers ONLY run on the last item or block, just after my key-trigger code completes, and just before control returns to the user.
So it would seem natural that if you go_block in a when_new_form_instance trigger, and execute an Enter_Query command, then the when-new-block-instance would not run.
The fact that it does not run once you cancel the query just doesn't seem right, though.

Pre-Insert Trigger not firing

I am using Oracle 10G DS with Oracle 11G XE. I tried PRE-INSERT Trigger with the Code given by Mr Hamid. However, its not working. Though, the WHEN-NEW-ITEM-INSTANCE works fine, I wish to use PRE-INSERT Trigger only.
Can you please help me.
