New mac air running hot! Anyone having same problem?
I downloaded Lion last night on my Mac Book Air (purchased Feb of this year). The fan would hardly run before as computer would rarely get hot. Now it is running constantly since download. Anyone else having similar issue? Is there a solution to this?

Lion was installed as update.
as result:
CPU on 80 °C and to keep it between 70 and 80 °C fan had to work on 6500 RPM.
I used Istat.
repaired permissions, no result, reset the SMC and so on... no results.
lately reading also other posts, I started to disable 1 by 1 the start up items.
the antivirus Sophos + the time machine auto back up -on off was quite successful
now I have a 4000 RPM = quite decent as noise level and CPU at 40-47 °C.
had nothing to do with the flash or browsing, and so on.
Spotlight, yess is pushing the temp up, but is not running 24/7
Check your startup items, the answer can be there

I have a new iMac running iTunes 10.4 in OS 10.6.8, and a new Mac Air running iTunes 10.4 in Lion. I was able to transfer all my music etc. from the iMac onto the Air, but cannot figure out how to get the Playlists from the iMac to the Air. iTunes Help says File >Library >Export playlist and choose XML, or to save a copy of all your playlists, File > Library > Export Library, "the Exported info is saved in XML format." Then it says, "to import an iTunes playlist, File > Library > Import Playlist". Thanks, Jim, for taking the time, but the reply is unfortunately vague in the exact area of my confusion! "you need to copy that file to your new computer..." Well, the Import/Export instructions make it seem as if the two computers should be able to communicate this file thru wifi, but that's the linkage I can't seem tocreate with Import/Export. Should I instead email a copy to myself (thats what applecare suggested)? Copy it to and from a thumb drive? But then place the file where? And the article was helpful, but should I be trying to move the Library file or the Library.xml file (as iTunes Help suggests)? Sorry to be so clueless about it...I suppose I buy Apple in the hopes of not having to think about this stuff, which approach seems not to be serving me well. Thanks again for your time!

Anyone having same problem? I phone 4 after updating to Vers.5.1.1. battery cannot be 100% full charge, always stop at 99% and battery drains off fast too
I had major issues with the iPhone 4s battery, however it’s resolved.
The tech who set the phone up at the Apple store did so with little training.
if you have a mobile me account. First go and move all your data to the cloud by going on your computer and logging in at me.com/move. The cloud has replaced mobile me, so there is no need for those two accounts
Also make sure that for any of your email accounts you set them up to fetch, not push. My tech person set them all to have the email servers push data to the phone. The new iphone4s antenna is extremely strong so it will continually try to access stuff that is pushed–***** a lot of battery life doing this. It makes it worse if you have exchange 2010 accounts. Something about changes made to exchange really suck battery life from devices that access such accounts.

budone pointed me in the right direction but I think tidbits pushed him off with apps and clearing cache. Battery app definitely showed me what the issue was.
Battery monitor and phone built in monitor shows phone call usage above 25%. I don't use my phone for hours a day (320 minutes / 4 = 80 minutes talk time). So why is my phone polling Verizon towers so often? Issue also prevented phone from sleeping correctly. So, SIM/firmware conflict. The update pushed a radio setting in the phone to a CDMA + LTE/EvDO auto which was to correct the SIM/reboot issue.

My phone was already set to a correct radio setting prior to the update. When the update was pushed I had my phone in 3G/CMDA to maintain the battery. This update forced a setting and restarted phone and caused a SIM/firmware conflict. Now my phone will go into a boot loop when it drains below 20% and in CDMA(3G). 4G LTE it will run fine. Why? Still attempting to isolate that. I don't think I can unless I have developer access and root the phone. I will not be doing this knowing that there is a manufacturer/carrier defect on my device and they are on the chain for it's repair at the moment. Software, phones firmware agree that it is a CDMA + LTE/EvDO device but SIM has to be removed, phone booted without, TURN OFF, reseat SIM and power on to fix boot loop after charging for a while every day so far. Verizon why am I troubleshooting an issue that your techs should have figured out before pushing a manufacture update? I am paying for Verizon service because it's better than Sprint and AT&T but not cheaper in my area! Where is the Verizon rep with assistance?Could be something with the new verizon location service that was introduced with the update. So far, I haven't heard exactly what it does, but if it is polling the towers for your location, that could be the issue. Personally, I haven't had any problems since the update, if it wasn't for the extra signal bar, I probably wouldn't even notice. However, the battery over heating is a common problem with the Rezound and, from what I hear, Verizon is being pretty good about replacing batteries for anyone having an issue.

After installing iOS5 on my iPhone 4 I am having a problem syncing Calendar, Contacts etc. If I say add something in Calendar on my iPhone it will not sync to my PC, even though is says it is. However if I add something to my Calendar on my PC (using Outlook) it will sync to my iPhone. Anyone having the same issues and/or solution?
Ok. I disabled hardware acceleration. The only extension is the McAfee Scriptscan for Firefox 15.1.0, which was already disabled. I then disabled all plugins (Acrobat, Google Update, Intel Identity Protection (2x), Java Deployment Toolkit, Java Platform, MS Office 2013, Quicktime, Shockwave, Silverlight), which were all up to date.
Normal or safe mode still has same result. No startup, no option button and no customize.

Keyboard problem on iphone 4s! Anyone having same problem?
Keyboard becomes unresponsive if you keep tapping on it. Like the abc/123 key, also the space and enter key.
I have tried this on several iphone 4s, even them demo phones at apple store, ive noticed the same problem.
Its so annoying, i hope apple can fix it soon. Here is a video:

If you cannot do this due to screen failure, take the iPhone to an Apple store genius bar and have the technicians check it out to see what is wrong with the hardware. -
My wireless mouse for imac keeps loosing connection. Started after I was having truoble with computor not waking up and I put the setting to "never sleep". Any suggestions?
If it's an Apple mouse, make it "Favorite" in Bluetooth preferences.
If it's not, the same thing might help, too, but if the problem continues it could be a driver issue (possible incompatibility with your OS X version). -

Snow Leopard is required if you wanted to upgrade to Lion, anyway, which you may want to in the future if the latest version of iTunes no longer supports Snow Leopard. -
I have a new Mac Air and want to use my HP Monitor HPLP2475w to save $$. I attached it to the Mac Air but all I get is the background of my laptop. How do I get this to match or use in the dual mode.

Am running Firefox 3.6.10. Am having problems with Firefox crashing after upgrading to Kaspersky Internet Security 2011. Anyone else having same problem. Oh, BTW am still using Windows XP operating system.
The latest flash player release is 11,0,1,152.
Can you upgrade to this version and see whether the crash stil exists?

i recently got new mac air and transferred my old version garageband projects now when I open them in 10.0.2 I can add new tracks but then nothing can record, shows its receiving sound from software inst. but no sound. I checked audio preferences and they are set as they should be. I tried it in all the other older projects and same issue anyone have any experience like this very frustrating. Can one download old version still ? or can you run both versions on OS10.9.5 ?

Here's something I found out in the meantime, maybe this is interesting for somebody or maybe - problem's not totally solved - enough info for any of you to give me further advice.
When I start Logic Core Audio driver de-activated, I can open old songs. Then I save them in a new folder with all audio files and a new name. And I remove all EXS24 instruments as well as the Space Designer. I quit Logic, re-open with Core Audio activated and I can open the song.
Problem no.1: EXS24 instruments don't find the appropriate samples, but EXSMananger Pro did help me with this. Same problem with Space Designer, which doesn't find the impulse responses, connected to a certain preset.
Two questions, every idea would be great!
- Is there any way to teach Space Designer Presets where to look for impulse respones. I can load IR samples directly and create a new preset, but I can't use my old ones.
- Is it possible to install Logic from scratch over an existing version? Or how should I de-install everything connected with Logic and then install a fresh version from CD?

XCode 4.6 keeps loading but do nothing on new Mac Air 13
Hi all,
I'm very new to Mac world but so keen to learn about it. I bought a new Mac Air 13 today wish the hope to learn how to do coding for iPhone/iPad.
- Brand new machine then downloaded xCode 4.6.
- As soon as it finished installation, I did moved the icon into the dock for easy access.
- Read a little bit of guidelines then ready to create a new project.
- Create a new project, it keeps loading forever. Nothing happens, inactive "Next" button.
I did the research it might caused by moving the icon into the dock. therefore,
- Uninstalled xCode then Downloaded and Installed it again.
The same issue still happens. The "loading ...." bar keeps running but nothing happens.
Anyone here knows how to fix it?
Have I done something wrong here in the installation step?
How do I set up or configure my Mac Air so it will work?

I'm very very new to the Mac World. It's very frustrating not knowing where to find things in Mac while I have more control in PC.
Anyway, I think I did download entirely file before and successfully installed the software both attempts.
I have worked it out now why the "Next" button was gray out and the loading bar kept running.
It was my stupidity not to fill in the "Company Identifier" field.
It seems working as I expected now so I'm ready to learn about Xcode.

My iPod Nano will not sync with my brand new Mac Air...will charge
My iPod nano (touch) will not sync with my iTunes on my brand new Macbook Air. It will charge my iPod and give the option to eject the iPod, but it will not recognize my iPod to sync. Any ideas why and how to fix it?
Hey all, I had to call Apple Support to resolve the issue as nothing on the web provided an answer. So for all you out there having the same problem, here's the ituation and full resolution, so you can save time and money (if your product's warranty is expired).
Situation: I bought a brand new Mac Air on 12/7/12 and tried to sync my 6th generation iPod nano (previously configured to a PC) with no sucess. ITunes was only allowing me to charge and eject the nano.
Solution:
1. Go to View>sidebar
2. In the sidebar, click "iPod" under the Devicies category
3. Click "Music" section next to "Summary" under the status bar
4. Make sure "Sync" box is checked with your preferred preferences underneath
5. Click "Sync" in bottom right corner of window
Apparently, iTunes 11 is quite different and the sidebar with usual options and playlists does not appear unless selected in the "View" drop-down.
