  • Problem e-mailing reports after migrating to new Microsoft Exchange server

    Hi,
I am now unable to e-mail (SMTP) reports to anyone in my company because we just migrated to a new Microsoft Exchange server.  Anyone know how to get rid of this message?
    Status: Failed
Printer: The instance is not printed.
External Destination: Mail the instance to "____________" with a subject of " %SI_NAME% %SI_STARTTIME% ".
Data Refresh Settings:  Use the server defaults.
    Start Time: 8/4/09 1:00:18 PM
    End Time: 8/4/09 1:01:07 PM
    Server Used: gmmc-crs.reportjobserver
Error Message: server error. SMTP_E_TCPSOCKET_OPEN(2): CrystalEnterprise.Smtp
We tried changing the gmmc-crs.reportjobserver with no luck.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
You need to start with your exchange logs and possibly enable tracing on your BO webi/crystal/destination job servers (depending on the type of report and whether or not it is scheduled) to get an idea of how far down the line the SMTP connection is getting.
You could also confirm a few key things:
Have the SMTP destinations on your BO servers been updated with the new SMTP server info
Can you telnet to the mail server on port 25 from the BO server -  if not, then check the firewall between the two servers and change the existing ruleset to allow connectivity to the new server
Possibly the old mail server didn't require authentication and the new server does, you could test this through telnet?

  • Missing the "Microsoft Exchange Server Auth Certificate"

    Hi Everyone,
I have a single Exchange box.
Was integrating my Lync and Exchange and noticed some issues after configuring my Lync pre-reqs: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj721919.aspx
Following the line of communication and event logs, I quickly saw that the error was not on my Lync Server, but on my Exchange.  The "Microsoft Exchange Server Auth Certificate" that is created during Ex2013 install was missing.
It was not there to give out tokens for the Server to Server authentication required to integrate Lync, Exchange, and Sharepoint.
    Running Get-AuthConfig: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj215766(v=exchg.150).aspx
pointed to a thumbprint that did not exist anymore.
I confirmed this by checking the local cert store (local computer>personal>certificates), looking in the ECP (servers>certificates), and also running Get-ExchangeCertificate
In my Exchange Server event log, I found the following errors:

Googling has only produced one article that is about another issue that I would have found further down the line if I wasn't testing within the pre-reqs.  The solution is the same, but the article is somewhat poorly written and does not respond to all
the comments enough to leave one feeling it's 100% correct.
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/jenstr/archive/2012/11/22/getting-internal-server-error-500-when-creating...
    The broad strokes are clear:
The fix is to create a new "Microsoft Exchange Server Auth Certificate" by using the following sequence of cmdlets In EMS on the MBX server:
    1. New-ExchangeCertificate -KeySize 2048 -PrivateKeyExportable $true -SubjectName "cn= Microsoft Exchange Server Auth Certificate" -FriendlyName "Microsoft Exchange Server Auth Certificate" -Services smtp
Do not accept to replace the SMTP certificate when prompted
    2. Note the thumbprint of the new certificate. Let us assume it is 7A39541F8DF58D4821967DD8F899B27410F7C081
    3. $a=get-date
    4. Set-AuthConfig -NewCertificateThumbprint 7A39541F8DF58D4821967DD8F899B27410F7C081 –NewCertificateEffectiveDate $a
Accept to continue despite the fact that the certificate effective date is not 48 hours into the future
    5. Set-AuthConfig –PublishCertificate
    6. Make sure to remove any potential reference to the previous certificate (which might not exist anymore) by doing Set-AuthConfig -ClearPreviousCertificate.
Remember to do iisreset on both CAS and MBX servers. Then finally, you can try to re-issue the New-CsPartnerApplication cmdlet.
    65 Million Dollar question:
Is the syntax in part 1 correct?  Two people says to add the domain?  Jens responds, but it's vague.  What would the correct command look like?  I do not know where to add the -DomainName within the command and which name I
should add?  The FQDN of the CAS?
New-ExchangeCertificate -KeySize 2048 -PrivateKeyExportable $true -SubjectName "cn= Microsoft Exchange Server Auth Certificate" -FriendlyName "Microsoft Exchange Server Auth Certificate" -DomainName server.domain.com -Services
    smtp
    Thank you everyone

    Hi,
Yes, we need to specify a valid FQDN for either the Subject or the DomainName parameter. Please run the following command:
New-ExchangeCertificate -KeySize 2048 -PrivateKeyExportable $true -SubjectName "cn= Microsoft Exchange Server Auth Certificate" -FriendlyName "Microsoft Exchange Server Auth Certificate" -DomainName server.domain.com -Services
    smtp
Then following the other steps in your posting to re-create the Microsoft Exchange Server Auth Certificate.

  • I have a BlackBerry and Microsoft Exchange Server.  How will I sync with my new iPad?

I have a BlackBerry that is supported by a Microsoft Exchange Server so I can sync my BlackBerry and my laptop which is a PC.  How do I sync my Outlook info with my new iPad2 so all of my devices are connected?  Thank you.

The setup , as was mentioned, is basically the same as a Wimndows Mobile device.  You need mail server name, your domain login and credentials  You will also need to check you wi-fi connection and be sure you can get rhough whatever enterprise proxy servers you might have. If you have 3g I would use that and not mess around with a proxied network, if that is an issue for you.
One additional caveat....adding another mobile device significantly increases the complexity of your mail delivery system.  There are articles on the Microsoft kbase that talk about Outlook calendaring best practices.  Watch for calendar consistency issues.  You might consider running Outlook in online rather than cached mode, or at the minimum deleting and rebuilding your cache file.

  • I can't connect "new iPad" to my Microsoft exchange server

I have an iPhone 4 and a "new iPad" both running IOS 5.1. My iPhone 4 is connected to my work Microsoft exchange server but my iPad is having problems. I got my iPad on Friday and set it up that night and it connected to the Microsoft exchange fine however since Monday evening it has stopped working, it kept saying failing to connect to server.
I removed the account from my iPad and try to add it back on again but it now won't let me add the account and keeps saying no connection to server.
I have tried resetting my network settings but that didn't help, I have gone on to my work web mail server online and removed every device except my iPhone from the list of devices registered to the account but that hasn't helped.
Any ideas anyone, particularity interested in how to fix this and also why it worked fine till Monday but then just stopped.
    Thanks in advance.

Not to worry found out that my work stopped iPad working on their exchange server without seeing the need to tell anyone in advance, but they left the iPhone working.
    Thanks anyway.

  • With Microsoft exchange server, leave messages UNREAD even if read on blackberry?

We are having issues that seems complicated but I'm sure there's a solution..
Sometime while at a restaurant or waiting for a light, I get a message on the blackberry  but I can't fix the problem right a way or it can wait until I'm back at the office to be fixed, now when I get back to the office, I open Microsoft outlook 2003, (running off Microsoft exchange server)  the message downloads into my inbox, but tagged as read.
    Here is my question:
If I read a message on my blackberry, how do I leave the message unread on the exchange server? I have the MIKE (Telus) or Nextel if you prefer 8350i but I also have 9 other blackberry curve 8330 with the same problem.
Is there a way , an option leave unread on the server until downloaded to INBOX?
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • My new Airport Extreme will not allow access to a Microsoft Exchange server

I just installed a new Airport Extreme at home and now I cannot access my work e-mail which is on a Microsoft Exchange Server.  If I go back to my old wi-fi Access Point my work e-mail comes in and out with no problems, but when I hook the Airport Extreme it keep saying the connection is bad and to check the e-mail username and password.

If you setup the AE wrongly, as a router when you already have a router, then you must bridge the AE. Apple nowadays reckon they should be top dog and force the AE to router mode.. unfortunately this is wrong on at least 50% of the setups and their support says double NAT doesn't matter.. well it does matter.
You can do a simple test.. traceroute 8.8.8.8 from terminal or network utility.
If you find two separate private IP addresses the AE is setup wrongly and it must go to bridge mode.
Eg.. here is mine.. you will note there is hop 1, the main router.. 192.168.2.254 and the next hop is internet IP.
What you want to avoid is 10.0.1.1 and then 192.168.1.1 or any other combo of private IP addresses.
If the AE is setup correctly and there is only a single private IP in the traceroute then you have a different issue.
The AE is blocking the ports required for you to access your mail.
You will need to setup manual port forwarding to get this working. There is no firmware fix as this issue is in every firmware for the AC version AFAIK, but certainly if you are trying on previous firmware check for upgrade.
Port forwarding check what ports are required..

    Security Settings + Local Policies
User Rights Assignment Mange auditing and security log
Turned off firewall on DC and Exchange Server even stopped the service
Turned off all AV on the DC and Exchange Server
Checked I could telnet to global catalog servers on port 3268 which I can
Checked the global catalog records existed in DNS which they all do
Done the obvious ping tests all round which confirms connectivity

  • Microsoft Exchange Server Question

I work for a company that uses Microsoft Exchange Server. we do not have a Blackberry Exchange server. Our IT department head ordered new phones for the entire company, (not Blackberry), he told everyone that the Blackberry will not work with our email system, so he stuck us with a horrible phone (the HTC Touch Pro), what a piece of junk.... I took it upon myself to throw my phone in my desk and activate my new Blackberry, a Curve 8330, till tomorrow when I go and get my new Tour. I would love to be able to email my corporate office, and call my VP of sales and let them know that the Blackberry "will" work with MES. I have no problem with my pop account. The other point of contention from the IT guy is that The Blackberry "will not" sync the calendar events, and it will not sync tasks. My question to all of you is this....."will" the blackberry....a Curve or Tour sync with the MES, will it sync the Calendar and tasks. I understand the differences with using the BES, being Push email ect. I want to make sure I have my ducks in a row before I speak with them. If this is true I know a 50 managers that would love to get a Blackberry...

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
BB's with a BIS account will reconcile emails with an Exchange environment -- if that environment does not have ISA and does have internet-facing OWA. Configuration instructions for OWA are here:
KB03133 How to associate a Microsoft Outlook Web Access email account with a BlackBerry Internet Service account
Now, that said, the only thing that will work OTA is email. And it will not be a full sync as WM devices do. Rather, from the moment you activate it, you will begin to receive new emails on your BB...but the historical emails will not come to the BB. Also, no folders...none...true Inbox only.
For Calendar and Contacts, you must use desktop sync -- the BB software comes with a conduit to Outlook, which allows you to sync (via USB tether) the other items in Outlook. If you use this along with BIS/OWA, be very careful to NOT activate the desktop redirector...much pain of duplicated messages will occur...
Speaking of which, the Desktop Redirector is another method if OWA does not exist or ISA does. Leaving a desktop running and logged into Outlook (connected to the Exchange Server), this software can manage the communication of emails between the Outlook client and the BB.
Basically, I'd say that the blanket statements you are hearing are not accurate -- they aren't wrong, but they are incomplete. With BES, you'd get full OTA sync of Calendar, Contacts, Memos, etc. (btw -- the limitation about old emails would still apply, but folders would become available with BES). With OWA/BIS, you only get OTA email and must use other methods to sync other things.
With a WM device, they can fully integrate the device into the MS environment -- not really surprising since both are MS things. But, something to keep in mind. BIS/OWA will have less traffic to the BB. BIS resides on the carriers network, and would check OWA for changes that are needed on the HH...if no changes, no traffic to the HH. With WM devices, they check against OWA directly...which generates traffic to the HH even if there is nothing to do. May not matter, but that's a subtle difference especially for folks not on an unlimited data plan.
    Good luck! Hope that helps!

    Paul,
I hope you are right, but I fear you are not.
I was told by my att guy that if I wanted to access my Exchange Server that I would have to pay the extra $15/mo. When I questioned him, he told that the only difference between the standard and the Enterprise accounts was the Exchange Server option.
Again, it would be really nice if that turns out not to be the case, because I will probably just stick with the standard service rather than pay the additional $15 just for Push.
I'm sorry to say this, but he is wrong.
All of our hand held users at out office have phones that are paid for on their own account. We do not utilize business accounts. They are able to get ActiveSync just fine.
Even from AT&T's own main page on individual accounts [here|http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-phone-service/legal/plan-terms.jsp] they do not make any statement that you must have a business account to access exchange. AT&T does not make this requirement for any of their Windows Mobile phones with ActiveSync. None. Why would this be different with the iPhone?
I am sorry to tell you that if enterprise mail was not included on individual accounts, than why do their terms or usage talk about it. If corporate access to email was prerequisite by a business account, than why do their personal account pages mention corporate email access. Their Business page only applies to partnerships that AT&T has with various business. For proof I went to their page and entered in my email address. Sure enough, I [failed|http://www.wireless.att.com/businesscenter/auth_fail.jsp]. This was why:
Your company or school web site address was not found in our records. Check with your Telecom or Benefits Administrator to see if your company or school is a current AT&T business customer.
We don't have a partnership with AT&T. I know this already. Yet at the same time I know several people in out organization that use ActiveSync and have AT&T personal account - I know that for a fact since I spoke with them about it. They have no restrictions. By your assertion, since we are not a business customer, several employees should not be accessing Exchange. They are.

  • Emails for Current Day are not sync with Microsoft Exchange server

I have bought a Z1 and configured my microsoft exchange server email on it. All is working well. However it is only showing emails till yesterday. I have tried all sync settings including automatic, all, one day and all others but still it is not showing emails for current day. I have also tried all sort options but still no improvement.
The same setting are working perfectly fine on my Samsung Galaxy Note 2. What is the issue and how to fix it? Please make sure i have purchased a new phone and would use the stock email app and no third party email app.
Already there is a downgrade in Z1 stock email app. It is not supporting formatted signatures and formatted outgoing emails. Which is now very common on all phones of its price and class.
What is Sony doing on its phones? i do not understand.
Please let me know how to fix my issue of most recent emails sync.

  • Cannot connect to an Exchange account in Outlook 2013 using "Microsoft Exchange Server or Compatible Service"

    Dear All,
I cannot connect to my Exchange account in Outlook 2013 using "Microsoft Exchange Server or Compatible Service".
    First I would like to present my network environment, I have 4 physical servers;
The first one is holding the Domain Controller 1, IP@: 192.168.1.10
The second server is holding the additional Domain Controller which it is DC2, IP@: 192.168.1.11
The third server is holding the Exchange 2013 Mailbox, IP@: 192.168.1.15
And the last server is holding the Exchange 2013 CAS-HT, IP@: 192.168.1.16
I am doing the steps below:
1-Creating a new profile in outlook and start configuring the exchange account by entering the IP address of the Exchange-CAS Server, 192.168.1.16
2-entering the account name: [email protected]
3-Go to "More Settings" > "Connection" > "Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP" > and entering the "Exchange Proxy Settings"
4-type the exchange CAS Server URL, https://192.168.1.16
5-Check the "Connect using SSL Only"
6-Authentication Settings: "NTLM Authentication", and pressing Apply
7-When I press the "Check Name" button, a message occurred> "The action cannot be completed. The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action".
8-I go back to the "Exchange Proxy Settings" and I Uncheck the "Connect using SSL Only" and pressing Apply
9-i press the "Check Name" Button, a small window occurred to enter a Username and Password, so I enter the Administrator username and the administrator password and pressing "OK", but nothing is changed, I tried to enter my
username and password in the small window and I still got the same result.
I cannot verify the account name and I cannot complete the process.
    I appreciate you kind assistance.

    Hi,
To narrow down the cause, I’d like to recommend the following troubleshooting:
    1. Try to login the test account through OWA.
    2. Check the Autodiscover settings: get-clientaccessserver |fl autodiscoverserviceinternaluri
    3. Check the result of directly accessing the following URL:
    https://autodiscover.domain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml

  • Syncing ACT contacts while on automatic wireless syncing with Microsoft Exchange Server?

Does anyone know if this is possible? At the moment, my company is automatically performing a wireless sync between Outlook contacts and their Blackberry Curve 8330 devices. However, employees that travel also need their ACT contacts on their phone. I've researched CompanionLink and know that I can get the ACT contacts directly onto the Blackberry that way, but, the problem arises where the ACT contacts will end up syncing back to the Exchange server -- which we don't want. We want to keep the automatic syncing with Outlook, but periodically we want to do a one-way ACT transfer onto our Blackberries, without having those extra (approximately 5,000) contacts go back into Outlook. Is there an easy way to categorize/separate Outlook and ACT? Any ideas or workarounds?

I am trying to sync my Outlook 2007 with my palm Treo Pro but keep getting the same error - server could not be reached Error code
80072ee2. This is probably a basic question but the server you enter into the Microsoft Exchange settings in active sync is the mail server you have in Outlook 2007? eg mail.internode.on.net. I don't need to do anything to outlook 2007 to "activate" Microsoft Exchange.
I'm looking at the Internode setup guides and it looks as though you have a POP server. In that case, if you want to sync directly to the server, you would want to set it up for POP/SMTP rather than for Microsoft Exchange Server. Does that help?
If you do not want to sync over the air and instead want to sync only by USB/Bluetooth to your PC, I think that works quite differently. I don't have any experience with that.
(Edit: Changed link style so it was more obvious.)

    Whats wrong with my code?
    Please help!!!!

You're using the "imaps" protocol, but you've set properties for the "imap" protocol.  Change all the property names from mail.imap.* to mail.imaps.*.
Also, get rid of all the socket factory properties.
If you still can't connect, see these connection debugging tips.
Most likely you're using the wrong host name or port number.  In almost all cases, it's better to just let JavaMail choose the correct port number.

I need to buy exchange 2013 license but problem is that I have total 175 users in my organization and then exchange standard license support upto 5 mailboxes and exchange enterprise support upto 100 mailboxes. My boss want to have each user have separate
    mailbox..

    Hi FAISAL,
Regardless of which version of the Exchange 2013 will not limit the number of mailboxes, however, different versions of the
restrictions embodied in the number of databases.
More details please refer to the following article:
    Exchange 2013: editions and versions
Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 is available in two server editions: Standard Edition and Enterprise Edition. Enterprise Edition can scale to 50 mounted databases per server in the Release to Manufacturing (RTM) and Cumulative Update 1 (CU1) versions, and
100 mounted databases per server in Cumulative Update 2 (CU2) and later versions; Standard Edition is limited to 5 mounted databases per server.
