New number not registering for imessage, how do i make it?

hi guys,
i have the iphone 3gs, my problem is with imessage... similar to alot of other people, but none i have seen specify conditions like mine.
i recently unlocked my phone from o2 (legally), so i could use my new 48months sim in it.
since then my imessages have been sending from my apple id account email. when i go into settings>messages>recieve at... it either says "verifying (o2 number)" or "error (o2 number).i have updated ALL of my apple id info to include my 48months number.... but still there is no way to enter my new number into "recieve at" for my imessages
all i want is for my imessages to send from my new phone number and not my email address.
anyone know how to fix this?
- i still have my o2 sim active, and have access to it.
thanks

The iPad is not capable of sending an SMS message so texts, pictures, etc., must go through iMessage.  The destination device must be registered with the Apple servers by turning on iMessage.  Therefore, the user with the iPhone must enable it for iMessage.

To register in iCloud, you need an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch or Mac in order to log in iCloud for the first time. See > http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup
If you haven't got any of these devices to set up iCloud, you can't use iCloud. Anyway, probably you don't need it if you only have a PC and an iPod nano (it doesn't use iCloud)

  • I currently have Imessage turned off on my phone since there is no blocking feature on the Iphone 4.  If I change my phone number and turn on Imessage, how do I make sure I won't get Messages from person I have blocked?

I have the Iphone 4 but before this I had a different phone and had blocked someone from contacting me via calls/texts.  Unbeknownst to me, when I got the Iphone 4, that I cannot block Imessages.   I have turned off Imessage for the time being but I'm seriously considering changing my phone number.  If I change the number with my carrier and turn Imessage back on,  what do I have to do to ensure that any previous messages don't come through and any future messages cannot be sent?

  • IPad won't send message to number "not registered with iMes age" but iPhone 4 does! Why...

I often send and receive texts from my brother (who has a T-Mobile phone) but when I tried to send message to him with iPad2, it refuses and send "number not registered with iMessage" response. Now my iPad sends and receives me.ssages just fine with my and family member iPhones and iPad. What the **** is going on?

You can only send a Message on your iPad to another iOS device. Your iPhone, however, will convert the Message to a text message that can be received by your brother. This has to do withe the fact that the iPad is not a phone.

  • Updated to iOS 6, can't use iMessages for all of my numbers. It sends message that the number is not registered on iMessage. Help!

Updated to ios 6, imessage sends back "number not registered". I need to know how to register numbers to imessage account.

On your iPhone running ios6 whose number you want to register, simply log out of imessage and log back in, it should then ask you if you want to add it.
A short time later you will get a push on your device saying it adding xxx-xxx-xxxx to your apple id

    Hey joshuafromisr,
If you resintall iTunes, it should fix the issue. The following document will go over how to remove iTunes fully and then reinstall. Depending on what version of Windows you're running you'll either follow the directions here:
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP

    or here:

  • HT4623 Why my phone number is not registered with iMessage?

Hi Mark, I have 2 iphone but about Why my phone number is not registered with iMessage? I try on/off my iphone but i didn't sucessfull

    Turn imsg off/on.
If that doesn't work, I would than backup your data (considering the troubleshooting steps already listed) and "Erase all content and settings" on the device and setup as a new iphone and test imsg out in factory default. Try to activate your phone in factory default. If it shows your number / activates, there may be something in your current settings preventing imsg from operating / activating. If it does not activate, get in touch with carrier.
