New sales scenarios and Make to Order Process
Hello,
We have a plant where we manufacturer for the in group company.
Now there is more demand from out of group companies and we want to implement make to order scenarios for the new customers. What are the configuration that needs to be done? What do we have to change in the MM, PP, and SD for this make to stock work? We want to implement the make to order process for the old and new customers.. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Planning strategy for Both scenario of Make to order and make to stock
Hi
My client having Both scenario of Make to order and make to stock ,so please explain me step by step which Planning strategy is use for following situation
1.Forecast the production quantities for the variants and create the PIRs
2.sales order is created for variants
3.Planned independent requirements should consumed by incoming sales orders
Note:If it is MTO scenario i need sales order reference number in production order
With regards
LaxmipathiHi,
You can Define Strategy Group under SPRO>Production>Prod.Planning>PIR>Planning strategy-->define st.Group.
In this step, you group strategies together into a strategy group. You can determine a main strategy as well as up to seven alternative strategies.
The main strategy is proposed in demand management or in sales order management and can be overwritten by another planning strategy defined in the strategy group.
You can allocate the strategy groups to the materials directly in the material master record, or you can allocate the strategy groups to an MRP group and then in a second step allocate the MRP group to the material in the material master record.
Hope it will help you.

Make to Order Process - Business Requirement
Hi Gurus,
Kindly explain what can be part of good questionare for requirement gathering from business process owners for initiating project on Make To Order process.
Thanks
BMWHi,
In MTO scenario as far as sales concerned we want the material master how the Material could be like is it a configurable material, or finished produt, or configurable with material variant etc you have to check .
We have to Maintain Strategy Group in MRP3 View. But this plays vital role iN MTO scenario
In the sales order BOM has to be exploded at Sales order level or BOm has to be exploded at Production order level
The entire MTO scenario depends upon Requirment type and Requirment class
Becasue once we created sales order the requirments have to pass to production people u can find it in MD04 tcode.
Then PP consultants Run the MRP and they will convert the planned order to production order
In the requirment class you have to chek what is the special stock indicator is it valuated stock or non valuated stock
is it a sales order settlement or production order settlement.what is the costing sheet costing id costing variant, and one more thing u need to know is it unit costing or product costing
when u create a sales order they will ask u to mark up the sales order costing mark up in the sense u have tick mark in the application menu bar.
suppose if u want to recalculate the cost at order level then this marking is very important. u have to sit with PP CO and MM people this is an excellent integration scenario.
As far as the pricing concerned u have to check how many pricing procedures are required according to business requirment
hope it could be like this including tax or excluding tax scenarios.
So based on this u have to talk to the project owners u have to ask questions.

Availability check for Make to stock and Make to Order
Dear All,
Client is selling Make to stock and make to Order material.
How and what settings need to do for Avaialbility check.or we can use standard one.
I hope in case of Make to Order availability check may not happen.
Please correct me.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Shrikanthi,
yes for make to order we dont have AvChk. for make to stock items u need to follow the
below configuration.
Availability check
1. Availability check is an integral part of the business process that determines if the required delivery quantity can be met on a required delivery date. For this purpose the system takes into account pre-delivery activities such as scheduling for picking or packing times and the time taken to produce or obtain the material. It also performs several background functions such as Backorder processing, rescheduling and ATP quantities.
2. Backorder processing: processing of a sales order that has not been fully confirmed or not confirmed at a certain delivery date.
3. Rescheduling: is a proposal of how u2013 confirmed quantities already assigned to a sales order can be reassigned to other sales orders that have a higher priority.
4. Available to promise (ATP): is a process of checking the available quantities of a material. The ATP quantity consists of warehouse stock + planned receipts (incoming stock) u2013 planned issues (outgoing stock). to examine stock on hand (CO09) proceed to logistics u2013 sales & distribution u2013 sales u2013 environment u2013 availability overview.
5. Replenishment lead time (RLT): is the time taken for the material to become available either internally (in house production) or externally (from a vendor). The most important things to consider during an external procurement are purchasing and MRP 2 (procurement) views of MMR where the processing time for purchasing, planned delivery time and goods receipt processing time are taken into account. On the other hand internal procurement is based on in house production time (MRP 2 view) goods receipt processing time or alternatively RLT time, which is found on MRP 3 view.
6. RLT (Replenishment Lead Time) is the time taken for the material to become available. RLT is only used when doing an ATP check (Available To Promise). The value of RLT for a material is specified on material master record.
7. There are three types of availability checks u2013
Check on basis of ATP quantities.
Check against product allocation.
Check against planning.
Configuring Availability check through Checking Groups u2013
1. The checking group + checking rule determine how the availability check is to be performed.
2. The checking group determines whether and how the system checks the stock availability and generates requirements for material planning. The checking group defines what type of requirements will be passed on i.e. summarized requirements (daily/weekly) or individual requirements for each sales order.
3. The checking rule applies to how the availability check is to be carried out at the transaction level. Note that you must define checking rules for each individual application such as for production orders for example. In Sales and Distribution, the checking rule is specified internally within the system and cannot be changed.
4. The checking rule, in conjunction with the checking group, determines the scope of the availability check for every business operation; that is, which stocks, receipts and issues are to be included in the availability check and whether the check is to be carried out with or without the replenishment lead time.
5. Briefly explaining the above u2013 checking group determines which type of requirement to be passed on to MRP whether it be individual or summarized and checking rule which is at the transaction level and can be configured independently for each application module, determines which stocks, receipts and issues to be taken into account. For performing an availability check checking group has to work in conjunction with checking rule.
6. Advantages of individual processing over summarized processing u2013
Backorder processing is possible.
You can access (MD04) order, line and schedule line individually which gives a greater control on available stock and requirements placed on stock.
The system automatically uses individual requirements in case of special stock items.
7. Required data for the Availability check to be carried out u2013
The Availability check must be switched on at the requirement class level.
The Availability check must be set at the schedule line level.
A requirements type must exist by which the requirements class can be found.
A plant must be defined in the sales order for each schedule line item (in other words plant must be defined for every material in MMR).
A checking group must be defined in the material master record in the MRP3 screen in the availability check field.
8. Configuring Availability check and defining Checking Groups u2013
Checking groups are introduced into the sales order based on the setting in the material master record.
SAP standard checking groups are 01 u2013 summarized requirements and 02 u2013 individual requirements or you can create your own by copying the standard ones.
Total sales and total deliveries columns are there to configure a checking rule to sum up requirements to post to MRP either individually or by day or week.
Block quantity required can be set if you want several users to be able to process the material simultaneously in different transactions without blocking each other.
The no check indicator is CHECKED when you DO NOT want the system to carry out ATP check.
9. Defining material block for other users u2013 the block check box is an indicator that enables you to block material master records of a particular material during the availability check and restrict other users from accessing same master record and reserve the material. If the block is not set, two users can confirm the same material at the same time for two different orders, not knowing if the stock is available or not. If you select this field, the material is blocked during the availability check and other users cannot: a) Make changes in the material master record. b) Create purchase orders for the material. C) Create orders for the material.
10. Defining default values for checking groups - Checking groups are introduced into the sales order based on the setting in the material master record.
However if there is no entry present in the material master record for the checking group, a default value can be set here, depending on material type and plant.
This default value will be used by the system depending on the material type mentioned in MMR and plant in sales order.
If an entry exists, this default value is over written by MMR.
11. Controlling Availability Check u2013 in this section, you tell the system what stock on hand and what inward and outward movements of stock it must take into account when performing the availability check in addition to whether or not to consider the replenishment lead time.
12. These settings are based on the checking group that is assigned to the material master record and the checking rule that is predefined and assigned to the sales and distribution transaction.
13. These settings carry out control both for sales order and delivery as well. This is due to the fact that you may want to include specific stock or incoming stock for the sales order, yet at the time of the delivery only include physical stock on hand waiting to be shipped.
14. It is possible to indicate to the system that you would like the availability check NOT TO CHECK the stock at the storage location level. This indicator is used to set the scope of the availability check.
15. It is used to switch off the check at storage location level. You create a reservation for a particular storage location. However, the scope of the availability check is set in such a way as to exclude the storage location. In this case, the system carries out the check at plant level only and does not take the storage location into account that is specified in the reservation.
16. Should you not want the system to automatically check RLT, you may indicate so here. RLT is the time taken for a material to become available. It is only used when doing an ATP check and is taken from MMR.
17. Defining the elements in the availability check entirely depends on the business needs, but a few tips are given under u2013
When controlling the Availability check at the time of the sales order, a purchase requisition does not necessarily indicate by it is going to come into the plant.
A shipping notification on the other hand - a confirmed purchase order u2013 is a good indicator of receiving stock on a specified date.
It is always recommended not to select the shipping notifications for the delivery requirements type as you may not actually receive the stock into plant or warehouse for which you are creating a delivery.

Can I creat an new iCloud account and make it the primary one for my backups and buy extra iCloud storage for it? Thank you
Hey Hindfromlondon,
Welcome to Apple Support Communities. Since you are posting here, I take it you already have an Apple ID.
You can setup that Apple ID to work with iCloud. See:
Set up your Apple ID for iCloud and iTunes - Apple Support
And you usually want to stick with one Apple ID as having multiples can cause confusion (especially with purchases).
Frequently asked questions about Apple ID - Apple Support
What is an Apple ID?
An Apple ID is a user name you use for everything you do with Apple. Creating an account for an Apple service, such as the iTunes Store or the App Store, creates an Apple ID. Apple ID allows you to access other Apple services. You don't have to create a new account for each service—just use your Apple ID.
For a complete list of all of the places you can use an Apple ID, see Where do I use an Apple ID.
and further down:
I have multiple Apple IDs. Is there a way for me to merge them into a single Apple ID?
Apple IDs cannot be merged. You should use your preferred Apple ID from now on, but you can still access your purchased items such as music, movies, or software using your other Apple IDs.
If you are wondering how using multiple Apple IDs relate to iCloud, see Apple IDs and iCloud.
Regarding iCloud storage check out

I encourage you to read all about it as there's lots of information out there.

I have a PC desktop and an iPad. I have a large library of PDF documents on my desktop that I would like to sync with my iPad. I would like to be able to download new PDF's and make edits on existing PDF's on either device and have those edits and new PDFs synced to the other device. I would also like to have my library available on the iPad even if there isn't a wifi connection (i.e., not on the cloud). Is that possible. I don't mind if I have to purchase a separate product or a product upgrade ect.
You can't use an external hard drive like you would with a computer.
You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)
When you first connect the USB flash drive, you will only see thumbnails of the pics on the iPad; you have to import the pic file to see the full size. With your large library of pics, you will have to do this repeateably and then delete pics so you don't exceed your memory capacity.

Dear All
Now I am implementing a make to order scenario, what we have is a scenario described as below:
The customer sends an inquiry to my client requesting a quotation for manufactures some goods then we have to check the cost and time to manufacture this goods then send him back a quotation so the customer can send the purchase order then I can start creating my sales order.
I want the solution for that as I am not able to know the price in the inquiry stage so I am not able to send him a quotation as I donu2019t know the cost and the delivery time yet
Thanks in advance

Jacopo FrancoiseYour steps are correct -- Please see (How to Modify or Create Notifications in Different Languages? [ID 1258834.1]) for details.
For the NLS language, just type in the new language and see if you can view it properly (or save it to the database and see if you can view it from the application then).
If the language is not set properly, you would get an error as the ones addressed in these docs.

Make To Order - Process Industries
We are process order industries. And we have make to order scnerio (Tcode : cor1). Now we also want to make to order scnerio.
Please guide me what are configuration changes, what are tcodes for the same.> We are process order industries. And we have make to order scnerio (Tcode : cor1). Now we also want to make to order scenario.
I feel now you are creating a process order directly in COR1,
IS MRP run is required? for your client?
If MRP is required, use strategy 40, System will consider both make to stock as well as MTO for that material, IF you want pure make to stock strategy then use strategy 20. that you can assign in MRP3 view of material master
then enter the sale order, the requirement will come automatically in MD04
and Run MRP in Md02
and convert the plan order in to production order in MD04 or MD40, MD41 -
For new sales scenario what all we should configure
Say for eg. there is a scenario of Sample sales, in this scenario what are the configuration we have to do like new doc. type, pricing procedure etc
Premkumar,
I believe you are learning SAP SD now. I really appreciate that. The question you have asked is not more specific.
Setting for a new SAMPLE SALES is not a easy task to explain in this forum. Better try to do it your own reading HELP.SAP.COM and ask for some specific error or settings or configuration issues.
1. Create a New Sales document type.
2. Create a New item category.
3. Create a New Schedule line.
4. Assign the sales document to areas of validity
( SO + DC +DC)
5. Create new condition table.
6. Create new access sequence.
7. assign condition table to access seq.
8. create a condition type.
9. assign access seq to condition type.
10. create pricing procedure.
11. assign condition type to pricing procedure.
12. assign pricing procedure to areas of validity.
( order type)
13. create condition record for the new condition.
14. select/create a new delivery type
15. select/create a new billing type.
16. make sure the above 14,15 are in order doument header - vov8
17. create sales order.
18. check if the pricing procedure is picked and condition record is assigned.
Once u do this you can VERY WELL understand what SAP is capable of and what not?
Do send me your email id so as to send some more document regarding this. -
Capacity requirement for long term planning and make to order planning
hello,
anybody please guide me.
my client using make to order scenarion and we are doing regulaly MRP run is MD50 with refernce to sales order.
sales orders planning will follow for 2 to 3 months.
at the same time my client wants to do long term planning also. to analize the capacity.
for that he is creatind planning scenario and multi level planning with MS02 also.
But the problem is when they are checking capacity requirement in cm38 it is showing only planning scenario load only. my client wants existing load and longterm planning load also. so they can plan the planning is sutibale in existing plan.
so how can i get both plan in CM 38or is there any other T.code to get that data.
please suggest me
Thanks & Regards
BhaktaHi Pierre and Rajesh,
When we create the simulation version, you have the possibility to choose the short-term planning. My point of view is, you can use the LTP fonction to do your scheduling for ex the next 3 months.
I think it's what Pierre did. Am I right ?
between to scheduling scenario to deliver my customer. With the simulation mode I can do my scheduling + use the MRP simulation to check if the raw material are available or not. Then use the MD04 to do the comparaison (or MS04 to compare between 2 scenario).
But I found 2 problems :
First : I don't find the parameters to show in the graphic MFS0, the planed fix order (I can only see the process order)
Second : When my scheduling is finished, I want to update my operational planning with the simulation version. But I don't want to do article by article : when you have 400 references (raw mat, packaging, finish goods) it's impossible (same issue like Pierre)
Have you found a solution for this 2 points ? -
New Moment type and Assignment to Order Type
Dear Experts
I want to create a new moment type with same functions as 261 and i want to assign this moment type to new order type PPIR(For Semi Finish Orders), Because our raw material can be directly issued to finish orders as well as semi finish order.I want to distinct the issuance of both types. So please guide how to create new moment type and its assignment to Production orders

RajDear Raj
What u are asking to change movement type at the time of Production GR.. please refer to tcode OPKA.. there are two packages CO (for production orders GR) and IW01(for Process orders GR) that associates movement types at the time of production. However i had same kinda a scenario in the past but this is not recommended by experts to change movement type at the time of GR. You should find some other way out...
