New service billing not originally agreed on.

I just ordered for double play and i am scheduled for installation and service this saturday 6/27/15.  But when i was going through my account online and looked at the billing order summary, i noticed that i am getting charged 186.85.  When i ordered the service from comcast service rep i was quoted and agreed on waiving the installation charge and the double play feature no contract was going to be 99.99 and additional 10.00 for x1 dvr upgrade.  But on the order summary i am getting charged 49.99 for installation (suppose to be waived) and 119.99 + 16.92 tax for package and service fee (when its suppose to be 109.99 + taxes). I am still with AT&T and i can cancel the saturday appointment with comcast and just keep AT&T if comcast is gonna give me the run around again.  I called a week ago and they said that nothing can be done until the service has been installed but i do not want to go through with the installation if comcast is going to make empty promises. Last time i had this same issue with comcast and i just gave in and paid the fees so i don't have to deal with the empty promises of customer service of comcast.  But I don't want to be suckered again. Should i give comcast another chance by calling them and making sure that they charge me for what i agreed upon? or just cancel comcast and keep AT&T Uverse?  I even got a screenshot of the online order pricing just to be safe and a screenshot of the order summary billing. 1 day before the installation date.  I called comcast sales rep and explained the situation.  After 1 phone transfer they were able to give me the price that they originally offered which was 99.00 + 10.00 for dvr upgrade before taxes.  After taxes it came out to be a little over 120.00 for the monthly fee.  I was ready to cancel and keep AT&T uverse but glad everything worked out.

    I am trying to create a working service using the New-Service cmdlet. I tried a bunch of different examples, I found on the internet like this one from technet:
    new-service -name TestService -binaryPathName "C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe -k netsvcs" -dependson NetLogon -displayName "Test Service" -StartupType Manual -Description "This is a test service."
    The service gets created and is listed in services.msc and Get-Service but I cannot start it. Ever. The state changes to "Starting" but that's all.
    I tried it on different machines with different Windows- and PowerShell versions using elevated PS-consoles.

    I tested on my client, and I also keep getting the error 1053, which indicates timeout and the new created service can not be started during the limit time, so you can try to change the service time limit, please note this needs to change registry value,
    Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems:
    In Registry Editor, locate, and then right-click the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control
    a.Point to New, and then click DWORD Value. In the right pane of Registry Editor, notice that New Value #1 (the name of a new registry entry) is selected for editing.
    b.Type ServicesPipeTimeout to replace New Value #1, and then press ENTER.
    c.Right-click the ServicesPipeTimeout registry entry that you created in step c, and then click Modify. The Edit DWORD Value dialog box appears.
    d.In the Value data text box, type TimeoutPeriod, and then click OK

  • New Services Downloads Not Showing Up

    I downloaded and installed (for all users) the the Internet Services package and I can't seem to get the services to become visible. For example, the "Lookup in Wikipedia" service does not show up in the services menu when I highlight text in Pages and open the services menu. I have:
    1. Tried doing the same thing in TextEdit (with no success)
    2. Tried restarting the computer.
    3. Tried reinstalling the Internet Services and restarting the computer.
    4. Tried repairing permissions on the disk
    One thing that seems odd to me is that /Library/Services/ is blocked (the no-entry sign) to me in finder from my profile (non-administrator). Is this normal? Here are the permissions on it:
    mycomputer:~ user$ ls -l /Library | grep 'Services'
    drwxrwxr-x 6 root admin 204 23 Jun 08:47 PDF Services
    drwx------ 14 administrator wheel 476 3 Sep 17:41 Services
    Might this be the problem? (I don't want to change the permissions on this folder without knowing what those permissions are 'supposed' to be).

    Thanks. I had the same problem. I checked the permissions on both the Automator and the Services folder and they were set to another user as the owner and wheel as the group. I used batchmod to change the permissions to match the rest of the folders in the /Library - root owner, group admin, users read and execute. I'm rusty on my unix so didn't go for the chmod because I forgot how.
    As soon as they were repaired, my installed services finally showed up and other services started appearing. I even repaired permissions on my disk and it didn't pick it up.
    It still seems really inconsistent where the services show up (menu, contextual, button on finder window) but at least I know it's sort of working now.

    I’m writing to contest a $29.99 monthly charge, which is contracted for 24 months amounting to $720 in total. The charge is for a data plan which I did not knowingly agree to, and verizon is unwilling to remove from the account even though the phone on the line does NOT use data.
    The backstory of the issue:
    On September 19, 2014 I waited in line at an Apple store to purchase a new iPhone on launch day.  I opened a new basic line of service for $9.99 a month on my account so I could purchase a discounted phone from Verizon. When purchasing the phone, the representative explained that he was going to have to put a basic data package on the line for $15 a month, but that it would be removed once I transferred the phone to an existing line on the account.  After the purchase was complete, we transferred the phone to an exisitng line, and the represented confirmed that the data package would not be charged to my account and therefore I would only have to pay $9.99 a month for the basic line of service for two years. A couple weeks pass and I receive my bill, I notice that the data plan is still listed on my account and has also increased to $29.99 a month!  I call Verizon to see what is going on, they tell me that they have just implemented a new policy that states if I purchased a smart phone on a basic account and then transfer the phone to a differnt line that I will have to pay $29.99 a month for data even if the new phone that is currently on the line does not use data! I told them I was not informed of this, and was actually told the complete opposite when signing up for service.  They refuse to remove the data package, and will not let me cancel the account without charging  me $350.  The representative on the phone said that the representative in the store was a sales person and most likely did not have the training to inform them of the new policy change, and that they could not honor what he told me.
    I should be able to rely on and trust what a Verizon wireless representative is telling me, I was not aware of the new policy and did not knowingly agree to this policy. And in that case, I would like to point out that I have been a loyal Verizon customer for over 15 years humbly request that you clear this $29.99 monthly charge from my account as a gesture of good faith.
    I have spent over 7 hours on the phone with verizon trying to get this resolved to no avail. I have also filed a complaint with the attorney generals office, and plan to persue this until it is fully resolved.

    This agreement and the documents it incorporates form the entire agreement between us. You can't rely on any other documents, or on what's said by any Sales or Customer Service Representatives, and you have no other rights regarding Service or this agreement.
    They gotcha! And that policy change was listed here and other places on the net.
    Its either pay that or the early termination fees.
    Verizon will not grant you a mistake forgiveness clause.
    If they do it for you they would have to do it for everyone.

  • Billing Complaint - Service Changes not completed

    On 6.20.11, I called Verizon to block data service on one of our Family Plan phones (0-3195). The service rep never followed through, and the data service stayed on. Next month’s bill for data usage on that line was $616. (the service was not turned off, and the MB’s ran on.) I do not feel that I owe on this part of the bill, as the rep did not complete the transaction. There is no logical reason we would switch off of a $29.95/mo data plan, only to continue using it at high costs. Each rep I have spoken to agrees.
    I called again in July, August and September multiple times to get those charges removed. Each time the rep promised that the recorded conversation on 6.20.11 would be reviewed, to prove that the rep DID NOT follow through with the service block. I have been handed off to reps, supervisors, promised callbacks and decisions on this complaint, week after week. No rep would give a claim number, record, employee ID number, etc to be able to return calls and continue the discussion.

    I apologize for any miss handling on our part to review the call or provide a call back to discuss the charges. You do mention you had the $29.99 data package; did you have a smartphone activated before 6.20.11? You bring up a great point that it doesn't make much sense to remove such a package and keep using data; however with over $600 in charges, the data was used quite a bit. With feature phones, data does not run continually they way it does on a smartphone. It must be initiated by command. If I understand correctly, even though you believed the data was blocked, it continued to be used. I'm happy to review the account with you to ensure the data blocks are active on the line in question going forward. Please private message me for further assistance.

    You're going to need to be more specific, as I'm not quite sure I understand what you're talking about.
    If you're referring to copying from an external hard drive or flash drive, and you want to actually move files rather than copy them, you can hold down the option key to force it to do a "move" rather than a "copy." This is not new behavior, though... the Mac OS has worked this way as long as I can recall (and I've been using it since 1984).
    If you're having a problem with trying to move files from one place to another on a single drive causing them to be copied instead, that is likely because of some permissions issue preventing you from actually being able to move them.

    If you have not been able to install iTunes because the Windows Installer service is not available, I would recommend the troubleshooting in the following troubleshooting to help.
    Issues installing iTunes for Windows
    These in particular: 
    Make sure you have an administrator account.
    To install iTunes, you'll need to log in to your computer with an administrator password. If you're not sure if you have an administrator account, read Windows 7: How do I log on as an administrator? You could also refer to your computer's help system, contact your IT department, or visit support.microsoft.com for assistance.
    Install the latest Microsoft Windows updates.

    I had this problem before. I like to disable extra services to speed up my computer and I disabled the Apple Mobile Device service and had to re-enable this.
    You can do that by going Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Services. Once you have gone to the services window, look for Apple Mobile Device and right-click. Select "Properties". There should be some information about the service as well as the label "Startup Type" with a drop-down menu beside it. If it says "disabled", that is your problem; Change the selection to anything except disabled (Automatic is easier and ensures that you can sync as soon as itunes opens).
    If this doesn't work, I would look into your anti-virus' settings. Good Luck!

  • Installed SQL Reporting Services 2012 on SharePoint 2013 Server. SQL Reporting Service not available In the list of runnning services or new service applications

    Hi I'm trying to setup SQL reporting services in a SharePoint 2013 farm consisting of:
    4 WFE's
    4 App Servers (NLB Central Admin x 4 servers)
    4 App Severs for SSRS (Light limited SharePoint services running)
    I've installed SSRS 2012 SP1 by following the guide (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg492276.aspx) on one of the SSRS SharePoint 2013 servers and ensuring Reporting Services - SharePoint and Reporting Services Add-in for SharePoint Products is selected.
    All completed without errors and I have even upgraded to SP2 for troubleshooting but no joy.
    I've then gone into SharePoint Central Admin and I cannot see SQL Reporting Service available In the list of runnning services on the server I have just installed SSRS on and going to manage service applications I cannot see in the new dropdown menu SQL
    Reporting Services.
    I have ran the following commands in the SHarePoint management shell:
    Install-SPRSService and Install-SPRSSeviceProxy
    and
    get-spserviceinstance -all |where {$_.TypeName -like "SQL Server Reporting*"} | Start-SPServiceInstance
    The reply was that the service was already online on the server.
    So in powershell all seems ok but it does not appear in central administration.
    I have also moved Central Administration to the SSRS SharePoint server too.

    I had the same issue on 2 different environments.
    I had 2 application servers. One had Central Administration. I installed SSRS on the other one and it never appeared in the Service Applications in SharePoint.
    When I also provisioned Central Administration on the other application server and went to the service applications using Central Admin on that server, the SSRS service application was there.
    Since then I always install SSRS on the server which hosts Central Admin. No issues then.

  • New group in Shared Services does not come up in projects?

    I'm working on a system that has externalized security, and we use Hyperion Shared Services to add users to groups and assign filters to groups.
    I have just added a new group in the analkytic server in shared services, I have also provisioned it to have filter access of a particular DB.
    When I go to the projects folder and check the list of groups under the application, to look for this group so I could assign the filter, I dont find the group listed.
    Does anyone know what I am missing out on.

    Hi John,
    I tried to delete the group and create a new group again:
    searched for the group, right clicked on it and clicked on Provision.
    Then I expanded the Analytic server tree to the left, selected server Access, and moved it using the arrow button.
    Then I expanded the DB name, there were "Provisioning Manager", "Application Manager" and "My Role".
    I expanded the Tree of "My Role" and found "Calc", "Filter" and "Read".
    I expanded the tree "Filter", and found Start/Stop Application.
    I selected "Filter" (not Start/Stop Application) and moved it to the second list on the right using the Arrow button.
    Then I clicked on the save button.
    Now I expanded the Projects Folder:
    Clicked on the DB to which I provisioned this group.
    It showed the list of users and groups to the right.
    I selected groups in the drop down.
    Clicked on refresh, but the new group does not appear.
    Please let me know if I missed out on anything.
