New style for choose style dropdown

Hello,
I have a style I created for a page group. However, this style doesn't show up in the "Choose Style" dropdown when I tried to apply the same style on another page group?
Does anyone know how can I make the existing page style available to other page groups?
Thanks,
-Dong Chen

Hmmm.. I am wondering how the style managed to get ID=1 when it was created AFTER the page group was created. Normally, there is a style created along with the page group, and this style always gets ID=1. I don't think it's even possible to create a page group without automatically creating this style. Are you sure that this is not the style that was created with the page group initially?
You can aslo verify the ID by editing the style, and viewing the source on that page ... you should see a line like:
<INPUT TYPE="hidden" NAME="p_style_id" VALUE="1">
I agree that treating this style specially leads to some inflexibility, but for whatever reason, this is the behavior of the product.

    Hello xhpx,
    In  your media queries your changing the .gridContainer but the #LayoutDiv1 is the same. The reason the color goes away is the media query for mobile sizes doesn't have the background color. Though I would remove #LayoutDiv1 from any media query since it doesn't need to change.

  • Create a new set of skin and style for OC4J

    hi, I have created a new set of skin and style
    for example,
    just duplicated folders s_oracle10 , sk_oracle10 and rename them as s_oracle10b , sk_oracle10b (in \OracleBI\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\applications\analytics\analytics\res)
    however, I found that there is no new choice - oracle10b in the dropdownlist for selecting style.
    how to create a new set of skin and style ??

    I have read Oracle® Business Intelligence Suite Enterprise Edition Release Notes Version 10.1.3.4.1 E10404-25
    =====================================================================
    In Chapter 10, the section "About Skins and Styles" contains incomplete
    information. The following information should appear after the section's first
    paragraph:
    Respective Web servers require resource files like styles to be deployed
    appropriately for those applications. For example, when using OC4J as is common
    in Oracle BI deployments, skins, styles and images need to be duplicated in the
    following directories:
    – {OracleBI}\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\applications\analytics\analytics\res
    – {OracleBI}\web\app\res
    As a rule, customer-specific files like custom styles should live in the
    {OracleBIData} folders so these are not lost during upgrades. In this case, the
    custom style would then be deployed to OC4J as described above and to the
    following directory: {OracleBIData}\web\res
    ===================================================================== copied from the pdf
    we need to copy the new set to two directories.
    however, I found that resources of the new set are from {OracleBI}\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\applications\analytics\analytics\res
    not from {OracleBI}\web\app\res
    if there is a upgrade or redeployment, will the new set be removed or replaced.
    why isn't load from {OracleBI}\web\app\res?
    how to configure to make it load from {OracleBI}\web\app\res?

  • Creating new Styles for a Blog connection

    Hi -
    I've just started using Contribute CS4 to make a Wordpress blog (hosted by Wordpress for now).
    I'd like to be able to create some new CSS or inline styles and reuse them appropriately throughout the blog's various entries, pages, etc, but I don't have an option to create a new Style anywhere that I can find.
    Looking through help files and forums, I've seen multiple references to setting up user permissions properly (I'm Admin on my own machine), but these all seem to link through Edit -> Administer Websites (which is blank for me, I'm not creating a website). Under Blog connections I've enabled all the tick boxes for Styles, and made sure "Don't allow..." isn't selected.
    Does anyone know how I get to add new styles please?
    Thanks in advance,

  • Apply new style for existing paragraph

    How to apply new style for existing paragraph
    I need to apply existing paragraph style "FEBL1" to bullet list (newstyle)

    May be I am not clear with your question.
    You want to apply any style to a paragraph, you can use grep function:
    app.findGrepPreferences = app.changeGrepPreferences = null;
    app.findGrepPreferences.findWhat = ".+";
    app.findGrepPreferences.appliedParagraphStyle = "FEBL1";
    app.changeGrepPreferences.appliedParagraphStyle = "bullet list";
    app.activeDocument.changeGrep();
    app.findGrepPreferences = app.changeGrepPreferences = null;
    OR
    You want to add bullet list in your existing style "FEBL1", try the below code:
    var pstyles = app.activeDocument.paragraphStyles;
    for(var i=0;i<pstyles.length;i++)
        if(pstyles[i].name == "FEBL1")
            pstyles[i].bulletsAndNumberingListType = ListType.BULLET_LIST;

    And, which styles are you wanting to find there? Can you show

    rules are either
    type selectors (e.g., body, div, td, etc.), or ID selectors
    (e.g., #foo,

  • Changing Track Style for Score

    I wrote a tenor part and set the track's Style to Bass. However, in the score, it renders it in Piano style (split treble/bass). I tried editing style in Layout, but that only lets me change the Piano Style, which is defined just fine for a piano. I don't want to mess up the Piano Style definitions; I want to change which style that Track uses. When I choose a Style for a Track, where is the "I mean it" button?

    Hi,
    "Automatic" you will only see if there is more than one track selected for display in the score editor. As soon as you select a single track, the Inspector should switch from Automatic to "Inst 1" (Or Inst x whatever) and you should see the piano or bass preset.
    So, select the single staff you want to change.
    Sorry if this isn't the answer, but for me, it always works. Try to break down the whole process in small steps:
    1. Open a fresh, new project, insert a single midi or software instrument track.
    2. Record some midi. Now
    3. Open Score Editor (CMD-3)
    4. Select the Staff you recorded by clicking (single click) on it - the lines should turn blue
    5.Go to the left of the window (inspector) - select the style from the pop-up-list (click-hold to bring up the style list). The style should stay how you've selected it.
    If not: Report back. I then suggest you go upstairs to the Logic Studio Forum where all the gurus are. Maybe they know the solution, because to me it sounds very strange (like bug).
    Cheers + good luck,
    Fox

  • Using Custom Styles for Levels in Outline View

    How do you associate different levels in the Outline View with custom styles? By default they are associated with Heading 1, Heading 2, etc.
    Thanks!
    Bobby

    Styles apparently have a hidden "my associated outline level is #" property. However you have to start with a style that has this hidden property set as there seems to be +no way+ to access or change this property yourself (This is unusually poor interface design from Apple - they've traditionally been better than that.)
    You essentially need to use only the names "Heading 1", "Heading 2", etc, for styles associated with outline levels, and you can't create these styles yourself. You can change the formating of these styles in the normal way: Start with a paragraph formatted using "Heading #", changing the outline level to the appropriate one, manually change the text to look the way you want, select the new formatted outline level paragraph, and do "redefine style with selection". You can't just apply another style, it over-writes the hidden outline level # property with its own, usually "body", making it really difficult to add an outline to an existing document - you have to re-create all the styles.
    You can have mutliple styles that apply at the same level by doing the same as above, but instead of redefining the appropriate "level #" heading do "Create new paragraph style from selection". (You have to name it something other than "Heading #").
    Applying this style gives a paragraph the associated outline level as well. Unfortunately, if you promote or demote an "outline level #" tagged paragraph, its hidden "outline level #" property is changed and the new style will always become the "Heading #" style associated with the hidden "outline level #" property. There is no memory of where it came from, of course, so if returned to its original outline level, it looses the "custom named style". There is no way to tell Pages that it should choose your custom named style by default instead of the "Header #" style for a given outline level. I can see no reason Pages couldn't do this too.
    I have a complicated document that was written with consistent styles for headers, and now want to use the outline feature. I have to literally recreate all the heading styles from scratch. I can then do "select all instances" for my former styles and then click on the "Heading #" style reformatted as a copy, changing them to exactly what they were before, except with the new mandated name and the one magic hidden property changed.
    There is also some weird behavior used to hide unused "Heading #" styles: You can see evidence of this if you repeatedly demote an outline paragraph; the extra heading styles automatically appear in the style draw. Then if you then repeatedly promote the same outline paragraph, these intermediate styles go away. How that works without loosing user-defined styles with the same name I have no idea.

  • Defining styles for  my page layout.

    Is there any in depth resource for what styles are and how to define them for laying out a page in Pages? I am terribly lost!

    Hello Zenmind,
    there are three different kind of styles and you can work with them in every text area of Pages: in the main text area, in textboxes and in objects with inserted text.
    1) The paragraph style
    Paragraphs will be created by a new line character. This you insert in text areas by hitting the return key. So every inserted new line character (you can see them by showing the invisibles; menu: "View/Show Invisibles") creates a paragraph. To create a paragraph style, place the text cursor inside such a paragraph text and adjust the options in the "Text" inspector in the four tab panels "Text", "List", "Tabs" and more.
    After you are satisfied with the look of it, show the styles drawer (menu: "View/Show Styles Drawer") and click onto the down pointing triangle right beside the marked style name. In the appearing menu you can choose the top item "Create New Paragraph Style From Selection..." to get what it says. Give it a proper name and your new created paragraph style will appear in the styles drawer in the list of the paragraph styles.
    If you want to change an existing paragraph style, place the text cursor in the text of the paragraph you want to alter and adjust the options you want to have. Now show the same menu in the paragraph style drawer I mentioned above (to show you that there are changes, the triangle is red now) and choose the second item "Redefine Style From Selection".
    For changing the style of one paragraph to an other style, place the text cursor inside the paragraph text and use the style menu in the button panel of the document window or select the style name in the styles drawer. Now you can change the paragraph in two ways. a) Do a single-click and the bold and italic (color, etc.) marked words will remain if the font of the selected style is installed in bold and italic. b) Do a double-click and all characters of the paragraph will be changed into the font style of the selected paragraph style.
    2) The list style
    In the style drawer you can find a list of styles for lists (the button with the three lines at the drawers bottom border). The handling is the same as with the paragraph styles.
    3) The character style
    With this styles you can mark characters and words inside of paragraphs. You can show the styles with the button that displays the underlined "a" beside the show/hide "List" button. Unfortunately this function is not working correctly. You can choose by creating such a style which attributes you want to store in the style. By marking words and assigning this character style to them, ALL attributes will be assigned, not only the selcted.
    I know some feedbacks of this bug were sent to the developers and hopefully this will be corrected in the next version.
    I hope this helps you to understand styles and the creation/handling of them.

  • In FrameMaker 9.0.3 and 9.0.4, I cannot set tab stops for a style in the Paragraph Designer.

    In FrameMaker 9.0.3 and 9.0.4, I cannot set tab stops for a style in the paragraph designer. Here are the steps to dysfunction:
    1. In Paragraph Designer, for Tab Stops, click Edit. Edit Tab Stop dialog box opens, and the Paragraph Designer dialog box closes.
    2. Type value in New Position box.
    3. Click Continue. The Edit Tab Stop box closes.
    4. Open Paragraph Designer. No tabs are recorded.
    Discussion of a similar problem occured on this forum in June 2010. At that time, the resolution seemed to be to upgrade to 9.0.3. Has anyone else encountered this problem with these versions?
    Thanks.

    Hi, Arnis,
    Brilliant! Thanks so much. I only looked at the later discussions of that thread, which seemed to indicate the problem would be solved by an upgrade to 9.0.3.

  • Set style for reports

    Hello
    i need to find a way to give a format to objects inside my reports, in a way similar to css.
    Actually i export my reports in the code behind of my page, i wish to set the report sytle (font size and type, color, backgroung and so on). I've tried to use the setcssclass method in the code behind of the page that export the pdf without success :
    the page:
    <head id="Head1" runat="server">
    <title></title>
    <style type="text/css" runat="server" id="stile">
        h1
        background-color:Aqua;
        border-color:Black;
        color:Black;
        font-family:Arial;
        font-weight:bold;
        font-style:italic;
    </style>
    </head>
    the code behind
    report.SetCssClass(ObjectScope.PageHeaderSections,"h1")
    Dim oStream As System.IO.MemoryStream
    oStream = DirectCast(report.ExportToStream( _
    CrystalDecisions.Shared.ExportFormatType.PortableDocFormat), System.IO.MemoryStream)
    Response.Clear()
    Response.Buffer = True
    Response.ContentType = "application/pdf"
    Response.BinaryWrite(oStream.ToArray())
    I wish to remark i don't use crystalreportviewer and the above code print the file directly inside the browser.
    the questions are:
    1. does the above code should work and i'm doing something wrong or that approach is completly wrong and will never work? If it's a correct approach, why the stye doesn't get applied?
    2. if that's not the rigth way to do this thing what tool should i use? formatting formulas? do them allow me to format large pieces of report at the same time like css do in html ? Can you provide me links to examples or tutorial.
    i'd like to avoid to set font size,type , line thickness or colors for each item in the report, so any hint will be greatly appreciated
    thank you in advance
    Stefano

    Hello, Stefano;
    The code you are using is only formatting the HTML page and not affecting the report object.
    To do that you would need to use the Crystal Reports SDK and that would include formatting options.
    You are correct, you can use formatting formula for objects. You will want to test your results in the designer first. It will have to work the way you expect there.
    You may be able to do create some generic formula that will work on larger groups.
    e.g. @Format_Color
    You could use this formula for lines and fonts that you needed the same color and at runtime pass in the color needed:
    Report.DataDefinition.FormulaFields.Item("Format_Color").Text = crBlue
    Then use this formula when formatting all the fields you where you want blue options for Font or Underlines as an example.
    Another option is to actually add formatting at runtime using the Report Creation API properties of the Report Application Server SDK (RAS).
    You can look for more ideas in the [Developer's Library|http://devlibrary.businessobjects.com/BusinessObjectsXIR2SP2/en/devsuite.htm]. Look at "[New APIs for enhanced report customization|http://devlibrary.businessobjects.com/BusinessObjectsXIR2SP2/en/en/RAS_SDK/rassdk_net_doc/doc/rassdk_net_doc/html/Whats_New_RAS2.html#1022964]".
    Once the changes are made in the report object it should export to .pdf as you expect.

  • Why is the character style for hyperlinks not displaying correctly in design mode/viewing/output?

    I am using RH9 and generating WebHelp, and I needed to globally bump up the font size of just my hyperlinked text. I went into my Style Sheet > Character tab, changed the font size of the various character settings for hyperlinks, and clicked Apply and then OK. Normally, this would change all of my hyperlink text font sizes immediately across all of my topics. However, this time, it made no changes to any existing hyperlinked text, and it only affected new hyperlinks that I subsequently added. For the existing hyperlinks, I can only manually change the font size of the each hyperlink one at a time, but that's crazy (there's 100's in this help).
    I can successfully change other characters styles and paragraph styles. This issue only affects the hyperlink character styles. It also shows up in all RH modes - Design mode, viewing, and in the final output.
    Is this an indication of a corrupted style sheet or some other combination of events that I have yet to discover?

    Hi,
    You probably have inline styling in your project overwriting the font size of your style sheet. How are you changing the font size of the individual hyperlinks?
    There is a workaround for inline styling: Open your CSS in notepad and add !important after the font-size:
    font-size: 4pt !important;
    Note that this is a workaround, not a solution. As a solutions you can remove all the style attributes from your hyperlinks to force them to take the CSS styling again.
    Greet,
    Willam

    Hi  adil,
    According to your description, my understanding is that you encountered the error “Cannot make a cache safe URL for "1025/styles/Themable/corev4.css", file not found. Please verify that the file
    exists under the layouts directory.” .
    The issue happens in
    We have customized master page
    In the master page, we use path the script/style file like this: <SharePoint:CssRegistration name="<% $SPUrl:~SiteCollection/Style Library/coe/mainCOE.css%>"
    runat="server"/>
    While using the dynamic path in a multiple languages enabled site, language Id(1033 etc) will be added to the path automatically. That cause the file to be not found.
    To solve the issue, please download  the Arabic language pack http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=3411 ,
    install it on  your SharePoint and refresh your browser.
