New tab opens when I open firefox.
This is really weird, everything was fine but now firefox always opens 2 tabs. http://i.imgur.com/G4q5fe3.png
One is homepage and other is https://userstyles.org/firstrun.
No, every solution is not working.. No idea why this is happening everything was fine... Solution would be to uninstall that add on but I really like it because it changes the new tab exterior and there's no search bar.

New tabs are not updating the names of the sites they have loaded. When I open a new tab and load a site, the tab simply stays named "New Tab". When I open a link in a new window, it shows "Connecting..." even while its fully loaded.
This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.

Firefox won't save my setting for 'Open new window in a new tab instead' when I close Firefox.
When I am doing my internet banking I need to have the setting option for 'Open new window in a new Tab instead' Un-checked (disabled). Problem is this setting is not being saved the next time I open Firefox. That is every time I close Firefox (all open window and tabs), the next time I open it up again, this setting has re-enabled itself again. I just can't get Firefox to remember this setting for me.

When I click on an active link from another application, it opens the firefox application, but won't open open the page - it just opens Firefox or takes me to Firefox. No new tab or window is opened and the link is not displayed.
Firefox sent an email to me to confirm that I had asked the above question. The email had a link to click. When I clicked it from Firefox, nothing happened. Then I opened IE, signed into Comcast, opened the email, clicked the link, and it brought me here.

Firefox is adding advertising links to certain words on my website cornish-surfing.co.uk, and when I open a new tab an additional window opens with unwanted sites.
1. How can I stop these things from happening?
2. Why is it happening?
These things only happen when I’m using the Firefox browser. I use Sophos antivirus and firewall and the scans indicate my system is clean. So I’m assuming that it’s built into Firefox or there’s a security flaw with Firefox.
Can you let me know which and how I can stop it from happening?
Graham Jappéhello, this sounds like a problem possibly caused by adware on your pc (certainly nothing that is shipping with a plain official firefox build).
please go to ''firefox > addons > extensions'' & remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, things that you have not installed intentionally, don't know what purpose they serve, etc). also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there and run a full scan of your system with the security software that you have in place and different other tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] & [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner].

Not open new tab (empty) when clicking on a .pdf link that can't be read in FF (no plug-in for pdf)
When I click on a pdf file that should be able to be open in Firefox (with plug-in), FF open a new empty tab and ask to open or save the file.
I would like that in case of FF not being able to open the pdf file, it skips the "open empty tab" part and directly go to "open/save" part.
Is there a way, server side, to tell FF to do so or is there only only client side solution ?
NB : In case that pdf can be open in FF, or any other browser, it should still be open in the browser and not be asking to "open/save", the point is only the empty tab.Is it possible you were using the Tab Mix Plus extension on your Windows system? Tab Mix Plus has a feature to force bookmarks into a new tab automatically when you left-click instead of the default behavior of opening in the same tab.

An app changed it to some other search engine, before installing the app, I the tab that would open was the homepage I set.
In my case it is Google, and I want my new tabs to open on Google like they did before the installation.

Version 5.0 on a MAC will not let me switch between tabs. I can open a new tab, but when I try to go to a different tab, it just shows me the contents of the tab most recently opened. Help!

Among others, I had an extension installed and enabled called Tile Tabs 4.10 that I thought could feasibly creating this problem. So I went into my add-ons manager and disabled it, restarted Firefox and the tabs worked properly again. Unfortunately, the Tile Tabs extension is my favorite Firefox add-on and I use it almost every day for managing my web work tasks. I went to the add-on page for Tile Tabs and saw that there was a notice that version 4.10 didn't work properly on Mac OS, and to install version 4.9 of the extension. I saw they had a new, not-yet-reviewed version 4.11 that addressed the Mac OS problem, installed it, and everything seems to be working properly.
I have no idea why all of a sudden I had this problem, as I hadn't updated Firefox or the Tile Tabs extension recently. Also, obviously this might not address your problem, especially if you don't have that add-on installed and enabled. But our problem started at the same time for both of us it appears based on your post time, so its probably not coincidence.
But its worth a look, and you might want to check out other extensions if you don't have Tile Tabs that could be causing the problem. -
