New to Bridge - Network Gallery for Team Collaboration???

Hi,
I am new to Bridge and was wondering whether or not it would be possible to do the following:
1. Use it to store .fla, swf, jpg, etc... all media files on a network drive in order to allow for maximum collaboration with dispursed project team?
2. Set it up to allow all those with access the ability to tag  - add keywords.
3. Is there a way to allow for limited modification - edit, but not delete
4. Is there a way to auto generate a file name using a unique identifier - e.g. 35351223423 - so when a team member referenced the image or asset it could be linked to like - http://subdomain.mysite.com/images/gallery1/35351223423.gif
5. Is there a way to control checking in and out  so that collaborators don't overwrite each other?
6. Whyis it that some files tend not to allow for adding, editing keywords? - i.e. .fla, gif, etc... returns an error saying something to the effect that XMP data can't be attached

Images won't be stored on any of the users machines, but rather on a server share.  The usage scinereo for this is: 
Image are stored on a file server that is shared out to all users.  ie. all users are working with files on network share:  "\\server\projects\images".   All users connect to this share, or shares, and have reed/write access to these files.  The users want to be able to update metadata, keywords, and rotation of files within bridge for these files.  So when user A adds new keywords to a file for searching, user B will, within bridge, see those changes and can search using the keywords user A added...and vs versa.  The idea is user A, B, etc., don't have to maintain separate keywords, metadata, image orientation.
Can you just have it export cache for each folder and it will work, or do you need to build and export a 'root' cache that everyone else is then pointed too, from within bride, ie build a root cache for the "projects" folder, as in the scenario  bellow:
\\server\projects\projectX
                        \projectY
                        \projectZ

  • Bridging Framemaker and Google Docs for team collaboration

    Hello all,
    Our company uses Google docs extensively for all types of documentation.
    As the technical writer, I am the odd one out. Now, management tasked me with finding a way to bridge Framemaker [draft] content with Google docs. The reason is to provide the Engineers with a way to review and edit documents on a OS agnostic (and commonly used) platform.
    Unfortunately, Google docs isn't making this the least bit easy! In particular, Google docs severely limits PDF to gdocs conversion to about 10 pages. Even using Acrobat's Split Document tool (and then splitting the document into many smaller parts), I am still missing many pages!
    This has become a huge dilemma!
    Any ideas are appreciated.

  • Best Practices for Team Collaboration using Adobe Captivate

    With a team of 6 Instructional Designers, how can Adobe Captivate be approached where we can collaborate while producing e-learning material while maintaining a consistent look and feel of the e-learning we produce?
    What are the best practices for a team of 6 IDs working and creating e-learning material in Captivate?  Is there anything build-in that allows us to connect to the same libraries, templates, etc to share?

    Only some tips, never collaborated with someone else, being the solo teacher. You didn't mention which version you are using, what I write here is meant for CP7.
    Be sure to prepare a theme and/or a template that will be used by everyone. A theme consists of master slides, object styles, skin editor. Master slides can have custom navigation shape buttons.  In a template you can eventually also prepare different slides with placeholders, and eventually advanced actions etc. For CP6 and earlier that is the only way to reuse advanced actions, in Captivate 7 you can export shared actions that can be imported in any project for reuse.
    A feature that few users know about are the external libraries. You can open the library of any project as an external library in another project. That is a good idea to store assets that you want to use in different projects: images, audio clips, video clips, eventually equations. The shared actions in a library can not (yet?) be used in another project however.
    If you are on CP7 you have automatically the roundtripping with source Adobe Photoshop files and source Audition files, both from CC. That can also make collaboration lot easier if those assets are prepared in those applications. Will not expand on that, because I'm not sure you have the Creative Cloud applications.

    Posting this in the Premiere forum because there is no Anywhere forum and this is from a PPro editor's / integrator's perspective:
    I was following the NAB 2015 announcements closely, and between the fanfare about Lightroom-style color correction and morph cuts, there was some faint mumbling about a new, scaled-down version of Adobe Anywhere. This could have been one of the biggest and most exciting announcements from NAB, but I haven't been able to find any useful information, not to mention screen grabs or demo videos.
    If you've gone to the show, have you seen or heard anything?
    A couple of years ago I saw a quick demo of Anywhere 1.0, and it definitely had plenty of interesting potential. I think many of us have been wishing and waiting for "Adobe's answer to Unity/ISIS". So this year... zilch?

        I'm sorry your pictures appear different in your gallery sillyymom. I know its frustrating with viewing important images. Are you using a 3rd party picture application? do you have any apps that may be conflicting with your pictures. Have you tried to review your picture settings?

  • How can I get Adobe Media Gallery for Bridge CS3

    I want to create an online photo gallery for 3rd party client proofing. I am using a reference book byScott Kelby (the editor of 'Photshop User' magazine) and he refers to Adobe Media Gallery: ( Bridge CS3 / Windows / Workspace / Adobe Media Gallery).
    He states that although AMG wasn't initially shipped with CS3, Adobe released a free update for bridge and once installed it is possible to download AMG from labs.adobe.com.
    I am unable to find any reference to AMG or any download/upgrades
    (Windows XP/ Bridge 2.1.1.9/ Ps CS3 Extended 10.0.1)

    You can download the Adobe Reader 10.0.0 installer .EXE file from here:
    ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/10.x/10.0.0/en_US/AdbeRdr1000_en_US.exe
    Once you've downloaded it, you can burn it to a disc or copy it to a thumbdrive to bring to the PC that's offline.

  • Can I transfer CC for Teams membership (Photoshop) to a new user on the same machine without uninstalling and reinstalling software? i.e. one user left new user started needing the same software.

    We have Creative Cloud for Teams, most users using Photoshop.  One user left the company and has been replaced by another user.  I removed the first user's membership and assigend it to the new user.  When she runs Photoshop, she gets a 00 Days left message.  Photoshop still seems to be useable right now but I'm wondering if I need to uninstall Photoshop and re-install it using her credentials?  Seems like a lto of unnecessary work to me.

    There is no need for removal of the product . You can simply launch the product , click on Help>Sign out . Close the product and sign in with the new user's Adobe ID & Password. This should activate the product .

  • How to change and save a new file in Edge web Lumira server for Team ?

    Hi Lumira folks,
    I've installed SAP Lumira 1.0, Edge edition and View a sample 'Dairy Wholesaler-Sample"
    I'd like to change it and save as new file, but "Save" button is disabled and when I put my mouse over the button,
    it says "Save Option is disabled in this version".
    Is there any idae how to change and save as a new file in Lumira Edge ?

    server for teams is 1.0. This version uses Lumira 1.22 as its 'engine' as this
    was the version of Lumira Desktop that was shipped at the same time.
    Hence with the current Lumira
    version compatibility; namely that a newer version of the product can open an
    older document, but an older version cannot open a newer document, care must be
    taken when deploying Lumira server for teams.
    Lumira server for teams is only
    compatible with Lumira desktop 1.22. If you intend to deploy Lumira server for
    teams, ensure your desktop users do not move to a later version of the desktop.
    Content created in a later version of Lumira desktop can be uploaded and shared
    via Lumira server for teams, but it cannot be viewed or edited online in the
    browser.
    Ensure desktop users disable the
    auto update capabilities in the desktop preferences, and set the update to
    none.

  • Is it too early for someone to reccomend a build with one of the new Sandy Bridge CPUs?

    Hi all I need to build a new PC and was told to wait until the new Sandy Bridge CPUs were out.
    This will be my first build but I'll have some help from my brother putting it together.
    I'm coming from working in CS3 on Vista 32 and want to build a PC to run Windows7 64 and CS5.
    As for a monitor I think I'm going to get a NEC MultiSync EA231WMi 23". The reason being it is a cheap IPS. The only other one I was looking at is a ViewSonic VP2365wb but the NEC has better reviews. If anyone has any other recommendations for an IPS in that price range, I'd be grateful.
    For a case I'm going to go with a Silverstone SST-FT02B Fortress or a FRACTAL DEFINE R3.
    As for the guts, I'm a little lost.
    I was going to get a 60gb SSD to stick the OS on but I see Harm Millaard reccomending a Velociraptor over on this thread. I didn't know what one was but I looked it up and discovered it was a 10,000rpm 300gb hard drive that costs about $280. Is that right? Are there cheaper and smaller versions?
    As anyone any reccomendations on what other Hard drives I should get and what RAID I should use? My budget for the whole build is mid range I suppose.
    So that brings me to the CPU, GPU and MOBO.
    Does anyone know enough about the new Sandybridge CPUs to reccomend one and which motherboard I shoud get? Do I need a seperate GPU still. People are talking about it having an integrated GPU.
    I suppose I would like to have 12gb of RAM with an option to upgrade to 24. I initially thought 8gb would suffice but people on here seem to be using 12 or 24.

    remove the absurbly overpriced Xeons that makes it 8th
    remove every OCed processor its now #1.
    and its #1 without the absurd 8-12 drive raid arrays... which most people have no need for.
    for the average user your recommendation like mine was the 950 stock 950 which ranks 40th is severaly beat by the 2600 not oced..
    so your replacement recommendation should be as mine is, the 2600 over the 950 all day long..
    anything less you are arguing with your own bencmark?
    but just for giggles i am having Eric resubmit with an SSD OS and a 8 drive raid the OCed to 4.7GHz system.

    My new Ipad2 got connected to my home wi-fi and to the network. For 2 days evrything qored well. Then though Ipad2 was connected to wi-fi, it did not open the web page/s. The dialogue box read, `Data Roaming is turned off. You can enable Data Roaming in the Network Section of General Settings' When I tried it, there is no item of Data Roaming displayed in the Network Section of General Settings. It shows only two settings. 1. VPN and 2. Wi-Fi.  How to correct this issue? Help is needed to resolve this issue. I am from India and Apple do not have any local service providers.Pl. help me.

    Sounds like the WiFi is connected, but cannot reach the Internet and is trying to use 3G, but you are in a roaming area so you get the dialog.
    The first thing to try is turning the Wi-Fi off and back on again in Settings.  Or simply turn the iPad off and back on again.  If that doesn't work double-check that other devices are able to use the same WiFi network successfuly, or try the iPad on another WiFi network.

    I am unable to map the masterpage gallery as network drive for design manager for a migrated site.
    This is a windows 2008 server r2 OS. Desktop experience in installed.
    I am able to map the master page gallery as network drive for two other site collections which is not migrated.
    But for the current migrated sitecollection, it throws the familiar error that it is unable to connect.... I already tried unistalling and reinstalling desktop experience.
    Kindly help.

    According to your description, my understanding is that you can't map master page gallery in network drive for certain migrated site collection.
    If you can open the master gallery with explorer, it means the master page gallery really exists. I suggest you check if the path is valid in the network drive. You can find the detailed path information with the articles below:
    1.On the site for which you are creating a design, start Design Manager. (For example, on the Settings menu, choose Design Manager.)
    2.In the numbered list, select Upload Design Files.
    3.The Design Manager: Upload Design Files page contains the location of the Master Page Gallery. The location probably ends in /_catalogs/masterpage/. This is the location to which you will map a network drive.
    4.Make a note of the location of the Master Page Gallery, or copy it to the Clipboard.
