Does anyone know when Apple will release the new V Moda earbuds with the Ipod Controls???????

I don't believe that Vmoda has announced a new set of iphone headphones (ones with the control button) yet.
I'd love a pair. I hate the earphones that came with the iphone, and mine are falling apart.

Generate a new SAP mode maximized and active working with Excel or Word

Hello!
We have an event that it generates a new SAP mode in the desktop. This mode is generated ok (maximized and active) if the user is working in other SAP mode in this moment.
But this mode is generated minimized if the user is working with a Word or Excel Microsoft document in this moment.
We need to generate this new mode: ACTIVE and MAXIMIZED when the user is working wiht any non SAP tool in that moment. Is this possible??
We have checked the following functions module with failed results:
NAVIGATION_EXECUTE_OBJECT
ECATT_START_GUI_REMOTE
TH_CREATE_MODE

Could you try disabling graphics hardware acceleration? (I'm having trouble determining from your "More system information" whether it's enabled or disabled.) Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You usually need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).

On the "General" mini-tab, uncheck the box for "Use hardware acceleration when available"
If you restart Firefox, is the issue resolved?

NEW PIN mode fails after migrating to new ACS version

Old setup.
CiscoSecure ACS v3.x
Windows server also has the RSA/ACE agent that queries a second server for SecurID authentication
C3745 and a PIX used for inbound remote access
Users access w/Cisco Systems VPN Client
Works great
New setup.
CiscoSecure ACS v4.0, running on a different Windows server
Slightly newer version of the RSA/ACE agent
Same C3745 and PIX
Same use4rs, same client.
Works great as long as the SecurID card is not in NEW PIN mode
If the card is in NEW PIN mode, the Cisco Systems VPN client of course prompts if the users wants to create a new pin. The answer is ?y? or ?n.? The client is then supposed to prompt for the PIN and then prompt a second time for the PIN. This never happens. Instead, w/in three seconds of the user saying ?y?, CSACS fails the user and the client terminates the connection.

You may want to ping the Cisco TAC. I remember there were loads of issues with RSA authentication that may have been fixed after 4.0 shipped.
If you run csauth from the command line:
csauth -z -p
you'll see a whole load of debug.. look for "[Securid" to see all related messages.

How to set new active Mode?

Hi!
I have got three open modes. First mode VA02, second mode MM02 and third mode SE80. SE80 is active, which means it s above the others. In SE80 I would like to process an report, which sets mode one or mode two active. How can I do that?
It's just an example, but it focuses pricesly my problem.

At first glance Max' answer does not look like a stroke of genius yet where in the SAP system have you observed the behaviour of modes (or sessions) you are describing? I am not aware of any place (which does not exclude the possibility that there is one).
However, creating a new active mode is easily done using various function modules or classes, e.g.:
- function module TH_CREATE_MODE
- static method CL_IMC_MODE=>create_mode( ) -> returns a mode instance where you can call go_mode->call ( <transaction> )
- static method CL_RECA_GUI_UTILITIES=>call_transaction
I hope I could give you some input on your topic.

RSA New Pin mode over PPP dialer

I have an RSA v6.1 server running SecurID and Steel Belted RADIUS. This is performing authentication requests, via RADIUS, to a Cisco router at an ISP which hosts a PPP dial in service over PSTN.
Currently I can dial successfully into the system using the standard windows ppp dialer over PSTN using my username and RSA pin+tokencode. However when the token is set to 'New Pin mode' or 'Next Token code' the connection fails to connect as it isn't prompting me for a new pin.
The RSA website says in order to support Next Token mode & New Pin Mode require the RADIUS client to
work in terminal mode before initiating ppp negotiation.
Does this problem ring any bells with anyone out there? What command to use on the cisco device to forward new pin mode requests to the dialer?

For new pin mode to work, you will need to enable interactive AKA exec logins. To do this you need to have following configuration.

To explain. SecureID users will enable a post terminal dial window in DialUp Networking config. When they connect, they will be prompted for user/token and pin if configured for that. If the Exec authentication an
authorization succeeds. The AS5350 will execute the ppp negotiate command,
which starts PPP for the session. The user may see garbage text in terminal depending on what version of DialUp Networking or client software they are using. They will need to click on the close/done/continue button.
The PC and AS5350 will then proceed with PPP.
However, we are going to by pass ppp authentication because we have already
authenticated for exec and we don't want the token to time out and cause a failure. PPP authorization should proceed as normal using the credentials provided for exec login.
Please use CHAP as PAP does not work for interactive authentication.

What is that new 'Simple Mode' in the metronome settings?

Since 10.0.5, there's a new Simple Mode in the metronome settings and I can't find anything about it in the manual.
Just curious what it does. I tried to find some 'logic' behind it, but can't figure it out yet.

It sure looks like StompBox to me. Look at it again. I've watched the video of the ad 5 times in full screen and I still think it's StompBox.
Go to the App Store on the iPad. Tap on What's Hot at the top. Swipe down to the middle of the screen. Tap on Apps from iPad TV ads. Look through the apps yourself.
If it isn't StompBox, then it must be GarageBand. They are only showing two music/mixer type apps in there. The only other music related app in there is Spin Play.

Screen Pop a View in New Query Mode

I am doing a Siebel screen pop customization and am having trouble figuring out how to open my desired view in query mode when the call comes in. I have specified my BusComp and BusObj as well as my SingleView in the custom EventResponse but am not sure where and how to specify the mode which I want the view to open in.
Anyone know how to do this?

I am a Siebel newbie and am trying to figure out how to do a few things with custom screen pops.
My EventResponse looks like this:

SingleView = "<viewName>"
So the specified view will show when there is a match on the variableName. In case that variable is empty or a match is not found, then I would like to have the view open in query mode. I am doing this directly in the Siebel Admin Configuration but it doesn't seem that there is a way to tell the applet which mode to open in here.
If I set the Auto Query Mode to 'New Query' in Siebel Tools, will my specification for SingleView in EventResponse override it and show the view with that record found?

New edit mode nodes

Currently working with the nodes in Ai is embarrassing when I want a sharp change in the mild, mild in symmetrical or unsymmetrical try these changes lead to change in shape.
I think it is perfectly solved in the blender. -
Mark object - smite the TAB key and toggle the mode Edit nodes
Now in this mode:
- I am available keyboard shortcuts for quick changes in the type of node
- the node type of change does not change shape if it allows a new node type
- an expanded zone marking points of handles, it is easier to hit the point handles can also enter in this mode
The ability to edit several obiects at once - in the end to add shortcuts to patchfinder The use of the Tab key to enter editing mode for me is very intuitive.

New zoom-mode between 'fit' and 'fill' (or change 'fit')

At the moment, when Lightroom shows a photo in zoom-mode 'fit', there is some unused space around the photo, which means I don't get the maximum magnification in this mode. I can tell Lightroom to use that free space by setting the zoom-mode to 'fill'. While the 'fill' mode is useful, it hides part of the picture, which I can understand, but most of the time this is not what I want.
I would like to see a new mode implemented that uses as much screenspace as possible without hiding part of it. This would result in a 'fit'-like-view with borders at only two sides instead of four.

That is why I would prefer to see a new mode or a switch to let you and me choose how we would like to see it. You should be able to see photos the way you want (with borders), but I should equally be able to see photos the way I want (without 2 borders).
I think there is no right or wrong in this case, just an opportunity to give us more configurability...

IPhone in "setup new phone" mode all of a sudden

Yesterday I plugged my iPhone to the charger.
Today when I took my iPhone 4, I noticed there was a gray linen background on the lock screen, there was a little round icon with an "i" above the unlock bar. I was expecting the picture of my family.
I unlocked it and was presented with a "choose a language" dialog. Hmm. So I scrolled down to Swedish, then back to English because that's the language I use on all my devices, and selected that.
I THINK I saw some cyrillic characters at the top left where the operator typically is displayed, then it changed into "No Service". That made me very wary.
Then I had to go trough the whole phone setup. Activate the phone. The phone knew none of my WiFi passwords. Luckily the last iCloud backup was from when I plugged in the phone last night, but it's still a hassle to set up everything.
I had to put in a new lock code and it kept interrupting me setting that up with other notifications. Our office exchange accoung required a lock code. Apple should have a look at this, notifications interrupting each other during setup...
But what happened? That what really buggers me! What possibly could have factory resetted the phone in the middle of the night? A bug? Have I been compromised somehow? Was it remote wiped without my knowledge? It wasn't turned off, i just pressed the home button and my iPhone had become a out-of-the-box thing with all my stuff gone! I tried to search the forums, I checked the usual Mac sites and tried to google around but I could not find anyone whith the same problem. Have I been compromised? Did my phone somehow receive a remote wipe?
The Diagnostic & Usage setting is completely empty. I had hoped that there maybe might have been logs.
Now I have to check settings because I use several itunes accounts (since I want to share photostream with my family but not imessages) and the setup process did of course not account for that. I suppose all my WiFi network passwords are gone. Or then all this stuff got restored by the iCloud backup. I can only hope. It seems my phone will be downloading apps and podcasts a few hours.
Listening status of my Podcasts is toast for sure, since that bit isn't cloud enabled yet and I haven't synced with iTunes for a few days.

Root cause found. I'll still post this in case someone else finds himself in this perculiar situation then his google search is maybe more successful. Turns out my youngest boy apparently could not leave my phone alone. Our phones are set up to erase all data on the phone after 6 failed passcode attempts.
Since I was too cheap to purchase additional storage on iCloud I had to excluded backup of the camera roll (the pictures are on Photostream anyway) which means all videos made the past few months including of one birthday are all gone

It's rare, but it does happen. You could try a restore & see if that fixes the problem.
Disable auto sync when an ipod/iphone is connected under preferences in itunes.
Connect your phone, right click it in the device pane and choose backup.
When completed, right click the phone again and choose restore from the backup you just made. Disconnect your phone and see if the problem goes away. If not, it might be a hardware problem since you've stated you did a reset.
Reset: Press the sleep/wake button and home button at same time, keep pressing until the apple logo appears and then release.

I read that Altec-Lansing was also going to have a version with in-line controls in August, but have heard nothing from them. Now I haven't tried either Altec or V-Moda and have no idea how they sound, but if I'm getting headphones that stay in my ear (the iPhone's don't), and hopefully sound good, I certainly want to have the in-line control I've grown to love over the last couple of months.

Using the yubikey-neo-manger from AUR I switched over to U2F mode and ran a successful test using the online U2F test service on Yubico.
*However*, I had to launch Chrome as root to do this. There is a permissions issue with Chrome being able to access the Yubikey USB hardware.
I'm looking for advice on how to correctly enable permissions here.

udev rule? Simply changing permissions to full ugo +rx on the usb device does not enable chrome access to the device while running as a normal user
groups? (i've tried the basics such as adding my user to storage, uucp groups but no results)
I suspect there is a polkit method of doing this but I'm not sure.

Update: I have it working right now but I'm not convinced that this is the best method.
1. Created the "plugdev" group (is this current best practice? Is it outdated? Added my user to that group.

New, Z-Buffer related blending mode

My suggestion is linked to Photoshop usage in still-image 3D composition. Specifically, it is about new layer blending mode what makes usage of depth channel (Z-buffer) information provided by rendering software.
Very often I would like to be capable of color correction of a single particular object of a 3D rendering. Though it is possible to make appropriate color correction in 3D package - this is nasty as that require additional rendering of the complete scene what is normally pretty time consuming.
Ideally, I would like to do such minor color corrections is a compositing software - in case of stills - in Adobe Photoshop.
But... how to do this?
I tried to make two render passes:
A) rendering the scene having one particular object set invisible to camera (but visible to GIobal Illumination solution)
B) rendering the scene having all objects but this one set invisible to camera (but visible to GIobal Illumination solution)
Then - these two images can be composited in Photoshop as separate layers.
That could work but it fails in case given object intersects with other in 3D space.
Normaly, 3D renderer only renders these object's parts what are visible to 3D camera, so these parts what are obscured by other object are not renedered. But if I render given object "separately" - then I have all its visible parts being rendered - even those what are normally invisible as obscured by intersecting object. And in his case alpha channel provides unsufficient information to perform appropriate selection to remove unneeded parts of the image.
Normally, this information if provided with depth channel: the Z-buffer what can be rendered in an extra pass. This is a grayscale image where shades of gray provide information about given pixel's distance to camera. But unfortunately, I can't see any use of it in Photoshop composition.
Ideally, some specialized "layer blending mode" should be implemented in Photoshop. It could work in the following manner:
Presuming there are two Photoshop layers:
- bottom layer containing (A) render image masked with its Z-buffer channel
- top layer containing (B) render image masked with its Z-buffer channel
Using new blending mode, only these pixels would be revealed what are actually "closer" based on appropriate Z-buffer data comparison between (A) and (B).
Is this suggestion worth implementation?
IMHO that would significantly faciliated 3D composition in Photoshop.

Here is a simple example of how a method is documented. (This is a stupid method, but hopefully you get the idea.)

Problem call forms from a form in 'create' mode of a new records

Hello,
I'll try to explain myself well, i have one form and now i am in 'create' mode , no value exist meanwhile in the primary key of the table behind, the problem is that in the same form i have some buttons that calls another form in wich i must provide the value of the primary key, let's think of an example of cities & streets tables.
If i'll be in the form of cities in 'create a new record' mode, i can't let the end-user click on the button for the streets of that 'new' city becouse of the non-existing yet for the primary key of cities. I know how to 'dissapear' the button of streets in this create new record mode but i am not convinced that this is the best way to do it.
I'll be glad to hear about some sollutions for that kind of problem, i am sure that i am not the only one who must think of this kind of problem.

Hiding the button is straightforward. You simply need to add a condition on to the button to ensure that the primary key value is not null.
The way how I've acheived master/detail data entry pages before has been a bit hacky, so I'll wait for someone else to come along with the 'right' way to do it!
