New Version Of Skype, Now Mic Doesn't Work
Skype has been bugging me daily to install the latest version. So I finally did, from that moment on my mic no longer works. I had JUST used my mic right before installing the latest skype version and it worked fine, I tried to make a local call, and while I can hear the other party, they cannot hear me. I tried a skype to skype call even, and I could hear them, but they could not hear me.
* I double checked the mic, my computer, volumes, mute button
* I unistalled skype, reinstalled it, restarted my computer
* Did a mic test online/on my computer and it worked fine
After after all of this, it still does not work with skype.
In the same boat as you dude. i can hear them,but they can hear me. Ive checked my mic over and over,but nothing. all it says it it works. My recording sofware says "Ready to Go" but skype is the dragging body if you know what i mean

My situation is a little different. I am hoping you can help me with it. I hope I am not violating any protocols by asking you specifically? A year ago I reinstalled my Mac's operating system. My CS4 is on my computer under "Previous System." I am unable to open it from there and I do not want to attempt migrating it for reasons noted above. I did try to reinstall it as you suggested to hbrady67 by dowloading from CS4 products with my serial number but I got this message: "Upgrade Check We looked in the default location for qualifying products installed on the machine, but none were found. You may verify upgrade eligibility now by completing the fields to the right. 1) Select a product you already own. 2) Enter a serial number for this product. CS4 wasn't in the list of selections. The protocol suggested won't work for me since I am not doing an upgrade but trying to reinstall what I already have. Can you direct me on where to go/what to do? Thank you very much. Bergi.
I found the solution to this problem. I was able to download the trial version of what I have and enter the serial number from there. However, it still asked for a serial number from previous software: "your setup is for an upgrade version of Adobe Creative Suite 4." (I entered the serial number that I have for CS2. I have 3 laptops. On 2 of them I upgraded to the new version of Firefox recently when I was prompted to do so. Both of those laptops now have trouble with chat . My 3rd laptop I have not upgraded to latest version and the chat still works. Either fix this or I have to use a different browser. I need to chat for my work. I can't make money without chat feature!!!

Installed new version of iTunes, now it won't work
Ok so I think I am fairly competent at using a computer, and I just installed the new version of iTunes last night and when I went to open it up I got the following message:
"QuickTime version 7.0d0 is installed, iTunes requires QuicTime version 7.1.3 or later, please reinstall iTunes"
So i have uninstalled, restarted computer, and then reinstalled iTunes 3 times now and keep getting the same message. I've also tried to install the latest version of QuickTime by itself to see if that helps and it didn't.
Any suggestions???? Thanks in advance for your help.

try reinstalling 7.0.2.16. if you still get the same message, we'll try swapping out your existing QuickTime for a fresh one.
head into your Add/Remove programs. uninstall QuickTime.
Next, we’ll manually remove leftover program files and folders.
1. On the Start menu, click My Computer (or double-click My Computer on the Desktop).
2. In My Computer, open Local Disk.
3. Open Program Files.
4. Right-click on the QuickTime folder and click Delete from the shortcut menu.
5. Navigate to C:\Windows\system32\.
6. Remove the files QuickTime.qts and QuicktimeVR.qtx.
7. Restart your computer.
next, we'll get a fresh copy of QuickTime into your PC by doing a repair install of itunes.
switch off antivirus and antispyware applications prior to the repair install.
go into Add/Remove and select itunes. click "Change" and then click "Repair".
if the repair install goes through okay, restart the PC and try launching itunes again. does it launch properly now? -

If you have problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop
* Firefox 5.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
* Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
* Install the new version that you have downloaded
Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder], so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data. -

I installed the update from the abysmally slow Apple App Store application, you know, the one that you click to open and it sits there thinking for about enough time to go fill a kettle, put it on to boil, fix a cup of tea or coffee, drink it, and then it's loaded up a screen of options that messes up your computer worse than it was yesterday. Can anybody tell me what I need to do to hold Apple's hand and walk my computer through to functioning? I feel like I have a crappy windows OS installed on a sub-par desktop...

The whole reason I switched to Mac is because I always had to do stupid stuff like this with Windows computers, constantly fidgeting and fixing problems. I went to mac because things just worked. You didn't have to worry about one thing not being compatible, it just all fit together seamlessly, it was simple, it worked. Ever since Steve Jobs passed away, everything that made Mac great is now just ordinary. Where is the innovation? What happened to the seamless design? Will Mac ever be what it once was? My Macbook pro 10.5.8 will not download the new version of skype
I am abroad at the moment - suddenly Skype cut out, informing me that the version was outdated. I need skype to operate for my work - the new version of skype won't download... do I need to upgrade my Macbookpro 10.5.8 now?

not necessarily. You can try running Skype 2.8, which Mac OS X 10.5.8 should be able to use if you add the following line to your /etc/hosts file:
127.0.0.1 ui.skype.com
(The whitespace between the “1” and the “ui” should be a single tab character.)
If you’d rather not use an older version of Skype and edit one of your system files, you could instead purchase the white retail Snow Leopard DVD and install Snow Leopard onto your MacBook Pro, run Software Update to get it updated to Mac OS X 10.6.8, and then see if you can download and run the latest version of Skype.
If the latest version of Skype doesn’t run under Mac OS X 10.6.8, you could then download either Lion, Mountain Lion, or Mavericks from the Mac App Store (which will be available to you once you have Mac OS X 10.6.8 installed), install the newer OS, and run Software Update again to get up to date. (Note that if you have an Early 2006 MacBook Pro, you’ll only be able to upgrade to Snow Leopard; if you have a Late 2006 model, you can only upgrade up to Lion. Lion and Mountain Lion are not gratis; Mavericks is gratis. If you upgrade past Snow Leopard, then you might need more RAM to run well.) -
How can I activate an old version of Photoshop that I've loaded on my new tablet? The web activation doesn't work, and when I call the number, it says it's not being used anymore. To create a WMI filter
1.In the Group Policy Management Console (GPMC) console tree, right-click
WMI Filters in the forest and domain in which you want to create a WMI filter.
2.Click
New .

Name box, and type a description of the filter in the Description box.
4.Click

I have Windows 8.1. I have had PageMaker 7.0.1 working fine on desktop for MANY years. Had to get a new hard drive. Now computer doesn't read the PM DVD. so I can't reinstall it. Can anyone help?

How can I install CS5 on a new/replacement laptop? I paid full price in 2011 and have the key (and it shows up in my Adobe account under products), but it was a downloaded product and I can't find a download of that version online and my key doesn't work in CC.
Your key cannot work in CC, it's newer version, and would require a new purchase.

I downloaded the new version of firefox, now I cant watch any movies, the html text box is totally gone, and so is the back and forward website buttons, please help? can i just have the old version back?
Not sure whether for instance you initially had a Yahoo optimised version of Firefox, and have now overwritten it with an official Mozilla version. Although the Mozilla version should NOT add unwanted features, but the Yahoo version may well do.
If you merely need to find the Yahoo emails page quickly just add it as a bookmark or as a bookmark on the Bookmarks toolbar and make sure that is visible.
Clicking the star icon on the location bar whilst looking at your emails will bookmark the page.
