Newbie ERROR- URL Encoded SQL Length exceeds allowed 32K limit

My SQL Query worked fine yesterday.( I'm still in developing mode)
I made a copy of it and put it into a text file.( Just to be sure I had it.)
Today When I tried to run it in APEX , I get error
URL Encoded SQL Length exceeds 32K limit.
Is there any way to tell how the size of my query ( for example 33K)
is using?
TIA
Steve42

I had to put out some other fires for the last few days.
I'm trying to use it in SQL worksheet.
That is my entire error message. It does NOT have an Error #.
Product Build: 3.0.0.00.20
TIA,
Steve42

  • Bcp doesnt throw an error when the data length exceeds size of the column

    Hi,
    We are using bcp in SQL 2008 R2 to import the data from flat file. When the data length exceeds the size of the column, it doesn't throw any error instead it has ignored the row.
    Please suggest me how to truncate and load the data into table.
    Thanks,
    Pasha

    Hi Pasha,
    According to your description, you want to import the data from flat file to SQL Server table with truncated data in SQL Server 2008 R2. To achieve your requirement, we can use Import and Export wizard. For more details, please refer to the following steps:
    Launch SSMS by clicking SQL Server Management Studio from the Microsoft SQL Server program group.
    Right click on the destination database in the Object Explorer, select Tasks, then Import Data from the context menu to launch the Import Wizard.
    Choose Flat File Source as Data Source, then browser to the flat file.
    Choose SQL Server Native Client 10.0 as Destination, then select the destination database.
    Click Edit Mappings button to change column size or other properties.
    Finish the processing.
    For the example about how to use Import and Export wizard, please refer to the blog below:

  • Value of service item exceeds allowed value limit

    Hi Friends,
    This is regarding a service PO or Contract . I want a create a Value/quantity Contract of more than 100 crores value.When the service line item value is more than 99.99 crores system is issuing a error message (Message number SE371) displaying the text under the subject from which I am unable to proceed further. I even tried to delete  the message from attributes of system message under Purchasing as well as in external service management.but still the problem continues .Is there any system setting where value of more than 11 digits are not allowed. But in target value in header what ever value i am putting is no problem. How to solve this.It is also observed that the field Total value PLANVALUE has length of 11 characters for which this is not happening.Should I change the length to more than 11 in the structure RM11P.

    I'm with the same problem in my client and that "just technical limit" is "just" the big issue that I'm facing here.
    I don't think we have to accept the limit but force SAP to change it, once I know a few more cases like this. How can I say to the client that he has to change his way of doing business, because SAP refuses to change a field?
    In African countries, for instance, the currencies have a low power, so this limitation is easily reached.
    So, is there real solution?
    Thanks

  • Document name exceeds allowed length

    Hello all,
    We are getting an "Document name exceeds allowed length" error when we want to approve a shopping card. There is no attachments in the SC and no reason for this error. First of all we already created the SC and approval WF started and now when we check the document this error occurs.
    Do you have any idea where to start checking?
    Best regards

    Hi
    The error should not be raised in the case where no attachment exists, it is raised normally when the attachment URL exceeds 255 characters.
    However - perhaps you need to apply the note [1269204|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1269204]. This may be the issue in your system.

  • SQL Azure Reporting - There was an exception running the extensions specified in the config file. --- Maximum request length exceeded.

    I am trying to deploy an RDL file (5MB) to SQL Azure Reporting server in South Central US using the deploy function in SQL Server Data Tools but facing the following error during deployment to Azure Reporting server.
    "There was an exception running the extensions specified in the config file. ---> Maximum request length exceeded."
    Is there any limit on the size of RDL files which can be deployed to Azure Reporting server? I have seen some online posts which talk about increasing the maxRequestLength in httpruntime of web.config in Reporting server. But in case of Azure Reporting server
    how can be make modification to this configuration?
    I have tried to upload it directly to SQL Azure Reporting server from the Management Portal --> Upload Report function which still resulted in error.
    Thanks & Regards, Deep

    Thanks for your question. Unfortunately we are in the process of deprecating SQL Reporting services.  Full details are available at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg430130.aspx

  • Windows service, error Maximum request length exceeded

    What is causing this error, from the windows service?
    There was an exception running the extensions specified in the config file. ---> Maximum request length exceeded

    Hi Nick,
    Per my understanding you got this error "Maximum request length exceeded" about your reporting services, right?
    It seems the issue is caused by the request reach the max length.
    To solve the issue, please made the changes in web.config of both the Report Server and the Report Manager:
    <httpRuntime executionTimeout = "9000" maxRequestLength=" 2097151" />
    If the solution above does not help, please post the error logs of the Report Server. The error logs will help us more about troubleshooting and also provide us details information about what actions you are doing when causing this error.
    We can get the logs from:
    <Install Driver>:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.<X>\Reporting Services\LogFiles
    Please feel free to ask, if you have any more questions.
    Regards
    Vicky Liu

    Hi Ahdir,
    First of all check the URL in your receiver SOAP adapter. The error comes from the web service server. It says that the request message is wrong.
    U have to fill field SOAPAction in the receiver soap adapter
    U may find the related information here
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/29/5bd93f130f9215e10000000a155106/content.htm
    Please check this
    /people/shabarish.vijayakumar/blog/2006/03/23/rfc--xi--webservice--a-complete-walkthrough-part-1
    There are multiple soap actions listed there.

  • Maximum request length exceeded

    I'm trying to upload a file to mobile services .NET backend, however I'm getting the error "Maximum request length exceeded". I tried increasing the limit in web.config file, but it only worked on the local version and still throws the error when
    published to Azure.
    As far as I understand the mobile services is ignoring the web.config file. So is there any other way to increase the upload limit?

    good news.. found a fix for this.
    it's actually the same fix for file uploads that exceed the default 4mb set by IIS. however, the change needs to made to the report manager web.config file and not the report server web.config file. that's why it didn't work for me the first time.
    here is an article that talks about it http://support.softartisans.com/kbview_825.aspx
    if you have kept the default installation directory, the file you edit is:
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.3\Reporting Services\ReportManager\Web.config
    Just add the maxRequestLength property here and set a size appropriate to you. Not to large to discourage DoS attacks.
    The example below is 10mb
    <httpRuntime executionTimeout="9000"  maxRequestLength="10240"/>
    hope it helps.

  • Regarding URL Encoding in C#

    hello,
    We have a need to compress a string into a representation that is shorter than the original string then to decompress it.  I wanted to know if there is a way to do this in .NET for strings that are about 1000-1500 characters (not extremely long, but
    we need to compress them for use in a URL/querystring)(maximum length limit allowed is 256).
    plz help me i am a beginner in programming.....plzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
    <aside class="meta trailing-meta" style="font-family:inherit;padding:10px 0px;min-height:55px;border-top-width:1px;border-top-style:dotted;border-top-color:#d5d5d5;">

    I don't know what Magnus is on about with server urlencode.
    That's.... not going to do you any good at all.
    You could potentially zip a string and send that:
    public static void CopyTo(Stream src, Stream dest) {
    byte[] bytes = new byte[4096];
    int cnt;
    while ((cnt = src.Read(bytes, 0, bytes.Length)) != 0) {
    dest.Write(bytes, 0, cnt);
    public static byte[] Zip(string str) {
    var bytes = Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes(str);
    using (var msi = new MemoryStream(bytes))
    using (var mso = new MemoryStream()) {
    using (var gs = new GZipStream(mso, CompressionMode.Compress)) {
    //msi.CopyTo(gs);
    CopyTo(msi, gs);
    return mso.ToArray();
    public static string Unzip(byte[] bytes) {
    using (var msi = new MemoryStream(bytes))
    using (var mso = new MemoryStream()) {
    using (var gs = new GZipStream(msi, CompressionMode.Decompress)) {
    //gs.CopyTo(mso);
    CopyTo(gs, mso);
    return Encoding.UTF8.GetString(mso.ToArray());
    static void Main(string[] args) {
    byte[] r1 = Zip("StringStringStringStringStringStringStringStringStringStringStringStringStringString");
    string r2 = Unzip(r1);
    from
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/7343465/compression-decompression-string-with-c-sharp
    However
    You might want to first consider using  a cookie instead if that is an option.
    Note that either way you will need some actual code running on the client in order to do this.
    Unless something very strange is going on then this would seem to not actually be an asp.net question.
    Since it's calling something on a web server as opposed to the thing that is called on that web server I would think this forum could well be the correct one.
    If this is to happen on a client from a web page then you will need javascript rather than c#.
