Newbie question: how to tell if account has web services access?

As the title suggests I am new to CRMOD though I have worked with other web Apis.
Right now I have a CRM account but keep getting the "capslock" response in my SOAP call. I think it is because the account is just a regular account and is missing certain rights. How do I tell the admin to grant my account those rights? I'm not sure how to make such a request in words they will understand.

Hello Daniel,
You need to identify your role. If you go to mysetup you would know your role.
Ask the admin to grant "Enable Web Services Access" prvilege to your role.
This should be fine.

Let me give some details and break up the problem
in more specific questions:
- In Designer 8.1 I click new data binding --> wsdl -->
http://www.webservicex.net/globalweather.asmx?wsdl
A message box comes up and says "cannot load wsdl file"
==> 1. Question:
Why maybe refuses Designer to load the http-wsdl,
although this option is explicitly allowed?
- When I save the wsdl to a file, Designer loads it
without any problems. The web service uses two input parameters
(CountryName and CityName) and returns an xml-string GetWeatherResult)
like the one in my first posting. I drag these fields from the binding view to my form, and it runs ok!
- THE PROBLEM IS, THAT I NEET TO EXTRACT THE ELEMENT FIELDS
FROM THE RESULT XML-STRING!

How to extract xml element fields from wsdl output into a form?
- I tried with eclipse and XmlSpy to build a modified wsdl file
with structured output definition, so that the specific element fields
show up in the data binding view and are usable to my form,
and the modified wsdl maps consistently to the web service result string.
So far without success: In the PDF -preview or Reader-
when the wsdl-binding is executed and the web service output
should show up in the result fields, just nothing happens.

If you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then go to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you should see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then you won't get the reset option - you will need to contact iTunes Support or Apple to get them reset.
e.g. you can try contacting iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management , and then 'Forgotten Apple ID security questions'

Can anybody tell me how OIM identifies an account as a service account while doing reconciliation?
I have the matching criteria for the scheduled task to identify service account. After doing the recon, i want to link with OIM identity showing it as a service account under the resource tab? How can i do this?

I could see only the "tcServiceAccountActivate" eventhandler available in the recon insert task. I am working in OIM 11g. Will this event handler be useful in anyway to perform my job? If not, please throw some light on how to achieve this? I am newer to OIM.

Hello! I'm Razvan, programmer from Romnia, and I am new to GroupWise development.
I am asking if anyone could help me with a C# Visual Studio 2010 example of how to install and consume GroupWise Web Service (SOAP).
The documentation from novell site didn't help me, i didn't understant much of it.
All I need is either a link to a documented GroupWise C# developer step-by-step tutorial, or some code examples.
Can you please show me some code examples in C# with:
1)loging in using a username and a password,
2)retrieving contact list,
3)retrieving appointment list,
4)sending a mail,
5)setting an appointment
I don't know how to use "groupwise.wsdl" and customise it so that it points to our GroupWise server.
Please, I really need this because I am working at a project right now which involves GroupWise integration.

Hi Sudhakar,
If you are used to working with ant then you can very well use eclipse to deploy your web service.
You would usually have the ant script in the source root working directory. From eclipse if you select the build file from the navigator view and right click you will see a run ant option in the pop up menu.
Select that option and you would be able to see each targets with a checkbox select option. So define each target maybe one for wsdl2java conversion, one for compilation and one for deploying your web services. You can either make all of them run by having depends option on or you can run them individually as it takes your fancy.
I am not sure about debugging a web service yet.

in I.E
https://sapme:5000/manufacturing-services/ProductionServiceService?wsdl you could see your FutureHold service
To do that in MII, you need Web Service action block. Have you work with MII transaction before?

Unable to update Company Sales Information of the Account using Web service

I am trying to update the Company Sales Information(Party Number, Customer number etc) of a existing Account through web Service 2.0 in dot net, but the values for
Company Sales Information remains unchanged. Also , when I am trying to insert a new Account through a web service, these fields remains blank.
I am not getting why this is happening.
Please help me if anyone knows about it.

Were you able to update other account information beside sales information? I'm doing the same - update sales information on the account - without any issues. Make sure to set external system id so that system can find the account that needs to be updated. Otherwise, I was getting "can't find the reference information" error. In my case I'm providing,
AccountData.setExternalSystemId("xxxxx");

Let your web service start its own background thread (*) somehow and move your business logic from web service to this thread. Then you can return from your web service. The client won't be blocked and your application will run on your server after service callout will be finished.
I hope that's what you need. Anyway, there is only "asynchronous communication" and nothing like "asynchronous web service". At least from HTTP point of view, every call is synchronous - you have request and response.
(*) You shouldn't start your own thread since you are in JEE world. Look at documentation for your container. E.g. for weblogic there are workers you can use this way. Or you can choose the other way. I hope that for any container you can just enqueue your web service request to any JMS queue and move your business logic to an appropriate MDB. Then, your web service will be just a simple JMS producer and your web service client won't be forced to wait for business logic to finish.
Last but not least, next time choose a better forum. :-)

How do tell if iPad has acquired GPS signal

iPad-mini, Retina, WI-FI + cellular, IOS 7.0.6
I want to use my iPad camera in wilderness areas to identify specific areas. I want the Pad to store the GPS coordinates in the EXIF of pictures I take. Question is - how do I tell whether iPad has acquired GPS satellites before I press the camera shutter. I don't want to take a picture and then discover the EXIF does not contain the GPS coordinates. Can I do this without using any 3rd party apps?

This helped me in the sense that I feel I didn't overlook something obvious about GPS status. I feel cheated that Apple doesn't have a GPS status icon in the status bar. Also, I would think that all Apps that use GPS would at least indicate whether they have acquired GPS satellites or not. I imagine some of them do but as far as I can tell the Camera app does not (?). I don't feel that I should have to consult another app in order to determine when conditions are right to tap the Camera app's shutter. If that's the case then I guess I'll use Motionx.
