Newsletter signup with form widget

I do not use BC for hosting, and I am using Get Response for newsletters. I have a nicely designed form I have built in Muse that flows with the rest of the site design. Is there any way to use this Muse form, or am I going to have to embed a Get Response form?

Is there any way to use a Muse form to collect that data and send it directly to my database (ie Google Sheets, Get Response, etc.)?  I could insert HTML, but I have tried that and it does not work render correctly.
Get Response docs say  I need to be able to put this data into the form code of the form:
<form action=”https://app.getresponse.com/add_subscriber.html” accept-charset=”utf-8” method=”post”>
<input type=”hidden” name=”campaign_token” value=”XXXXXX (Paste your campaign token here)“/><br/>
If there is no way to do this with a Muse form, then that should be a top priority on the Muse roadmap.

  • E-mail signup web form - Error message

    My index page has a newsletter signup web form. The workflow attached works, but when a user enters their e-mail and clicks "submit" they get an error message. I used a bc gurus template and this is the one thing I cannot find, how to change the link of the submit button or fix the confirmation. url is thesoleconnectionllc.com
    I'm stumped, help would be greatly appreciated!!
    Thanks

    It is a module inserted basic implementation.
    It allows for drag and drop ordering which will update the form and any changes and new additions will update the form - which is what is happening in your case.
    ID's etc changing have no baring on what is happening.
    But what your saying... I am not sure your seeing what your saying. Even in this case I do can not replicate what your doing.
    This is a test form:
    The ID is - CAT_Custom_19956061
    I can edit auto responder, I can add new fields, I can save and update the form in the admin, go into another part of the admin and come back - the ID for this field NEVER changes. The Script ID etc in the html of course updates if I make changes this never changes.
    The ONLY way this changes is if I delete and remake the field.
    So you need to make a BC support ticket. Your either doing something critical like removing and re-adding the form fields and not stating that here or, for what ever reason on that site only there is an issue.

  • What are the best steps using the Muse form widget to reduce spam

    Greetings, I am currently receiving quite a bit of spam from the contact us form at
    NextGenFranchising.org
    Is there a way to reduce that?
    Thank you, David

    Hi David,
    I can see that your webform does not have recaptcha, you can use recaptcha to reduce the spam submission. You need to add recptcha to your webform, and republish the web page. Here is a step by step guide that shows how to do this.

  • Using BC Form for Newsletter Signup on 3rd party platform

    I am working with a client who has a 3rd party online store, but their website is hosted on BC platform. I need to provide the newsletter signup form code to the other dev team so they can recreate the form to allow customers to signup for the newsletter while shopping in the the new online store. Is there any documentation on this? It seems that the .js files are BC specific.
    The form is making a call to "/CampaignProcess.aspx?ListID=27563". This does not exist on the site and the 3rd party developer needs access to that actual aspx file or have the full URL path?
    The form also makes a call to "/CatalystScripts/ValidationFunctions.js". This does not exist on the site and the 3rd party developer needs access to that actual aspx file or have the full URL path

    Mario,
    I appreciate your response, but I'm not quite sure I understand your
    proposed solution.  I get an error when using that URL -- *ERROR: Email
    address could not be added to list.*

  • My Client is having a serious problem with the Contact Form Widget

    My Client is having a serious problem with the Contact Form Widget that I can not figure out how to correct.
    I created a website for a client and inserted a Contact Form widget on their 'Contact Us' page. Whenever anyone uses the form, the e-mail my client receive shows my e-mail address as the sender. So, when they 'reply' to the e-mail, the reply is sent to me and not the person who sent the original message. This creates a major problem in that I get barraged with e-mail replies while my client's potential customers go without a response.
    When I look at  'Site Manager > System E-Mails > Workflow Information > E-mail From Address' on the site's Admin Console, it shows my e-mail information. Is this is what needs to be changed?  If it is, what needs to be placed in that field so that the e-mail my client receives shows the senders e-mail information in the 'From' field.  My client wants to be able to click reply and have the message sent to the right party. They would be very upset if they have to cut and past the senders e-mail address from the body text on every contact they receive.
    Their feeling is that if I can't find a way to make the contact form work the way it should, then it's useless to them.
    Can anyone help me figure this out? I really don't want to disappoint my first client.

    Are you on a plan that has the CRM feature that stores your customers' data? If so, the idea of the contact form is that you'll receive a notification that there's been an inquiry filled out on your contact form and there should be a link in that email notification that leads to the "Case" that was created when that customer filled out a contact form.  You can click that link and visit the case for that customer in your BC site and reply to them from there so that all of the correspondence is logged in the CRM for safe-keeping and for your records.
    If your client finds this is too much work to login to BC to reply every time, then you should check to see if you have the "Customer Service Ticketing" feature on your hosting plan.  This is a feature where you create a dedicated email account (like [email protected]) and the BC system will automatically login to that email account and pull any emails in that inbox and convert them to a customer case for the sender of the email and then it will send out a notification via email to any of the BC Admin users you delegate as "Customer Service Agents".  Since the CST integrates with the BC CRM it lets you reply directly within the email-- but when you reply it will be going to that same email address dedicated to the CST but once the CST service checks your email again and sees that you replied to this inquiry it will log your reply against the customer's case and sends your reply via email back to them so that all the correspondance gets logged on BC's CRM but you can still reply via email.
    There's no way to use the default web forms to update the "From" or "Reply-To" address.. it must come from an approved email address to avoid spam issues.  On most web services you cannot change the "from" address anyway but usually you can at least specify the "Reply-To" address so that when someone hits "reply" in their email client it will reply to whoever you setup as the "Reply-To" address.
    Here's some more information about CST: http://kb.worldsecuresystems.com/kb/customer-service-ticketing.html?bc-partner
    I don't think the CST feature is in the webMarketing BC plan-- I think it's only in the webCommerce plan so if you have less than an webCommerce plan you have to tell your client to reply through BC by clicking the link in the notification they get.  You can justify it by saying its one or two more steps but it keeps the entire convo on record in their CRM for easy referral later.

  • Check mark with contact form widget?

    Hello .
    Is it possible to make a check mark, where I can f.x. write "I have read and accept...." with the contact form widget in Muse?
    - Svend

    Hi Svend,
    This is not possible with the forms given in Muse. However, if you host your site on Business Catalyst, you can create such a field using BC webform builder. You can create the form in BC and add it to your Muse site using the Insert HTML feature.

  • Newsletter signup option

    Here is a basic one I would hope could be implemented very soon... I'd like to see the option to include a BC newsletter signup button when creating a web form in Muse.

    Yes, BC is a great option. We use it for all our clients.
    Conversly, if you're not using BC, then let's start with who are you using for the outbound newsletter? Constant Contact? Mail Chimp?
    Either one of those should have a "sign-up" form you can embed into the Muse site.

  • How can I add check boxes without using the form widget?

    I would like to use check boxes for our facets for our search engine.  You can see an example below.  Is there anyway to do this without using the form widget?
    PJM - Site Updates

    It is not possible to accomplish this with the Muse's Form Widgets. You may need to look for other online solutions and fetch the source code and add to the Muse page using the Insert HTML feature.

  • Muse CC Emails sent by Form widget are shown as html-tags

    Hi,
    I´ve got the following problem that emails sent by the Muse CC form widget are shown as html-code or html-tags in my inbox.
    Though the message contains all filled in data this is a quite unreadable format similarily as in post http://forums.adobe.com/message/5818028#5818028
    I already read the discussions here in the community but as it seems the issue though already known seems not be fixed yet nor does any of the answers which refer to the ISP configurations regarding message handling apply to me. Actually this is a first time issue with mails - haven´t had this problem up to now so I guess it´s a Muse thing.
    Though the mail is shown in some kind of html-tag format as mentioned it is actually marked as "text only" message?
    Furthermore the message is UTF-8 so there shouldn´t be any problems with special characters either but also German consonants like "ä,ü,ö" are not formatted correctly.
    I am using Windows 7, Outlook 2013 by the way.
    The Muse site was exported as html and then uploaded via ftp, I am not using catalyst.
    No idea what´s going wrong here hopefully someone has a solution to this problem.
    Help would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  • Newsletter sign up form works in Firefox but not IE??

    Hi, I have a website I am designing using dreamweaver CS3 and I added a newsletter sign up form using a 3rd party code. The form on the website looks perfectly fine in Firefox but the form fields are not present in IE. Does anyone know why this may be happening? The site is www.physioworks4me.com and I apologise in advance for my coding as I am just learning and not very good at this yet. I took the code that was supplied for the sign up form, opened up a brand new 'plain' html doc in dreamweaver, pasted the code and tried it. It seemed to work fine in both IE and FF....but when I use my template for the webpage I made, it will not work. I am using a XHTML page, could this be a problem with the javascript used for the sign up form? Thanks in advance for your help...

    The first suggestion you'll receive from most here is to clean up your code
    http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.physioworks4me.com%2F&charset=%28detect +automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0
    Also, you may have quicker results changing to a HTML Transitional doctype.

    Hi,
    Trying to add a form for visitors to a site allowing them to

    tutorial for this task. The dreamweaver side is basic enough but I
    guess I will have to make stuff happen at the server side as well
    which is not my area of expertise.
    Also the site owner is a non techie and she will need to
    access the newsletter signup list somehow....
    Any advice appreciated...

  • Muse drop down option in form widget

    Hi, I'm looking for help in the form widget. I've created a form and I need to provide a drop down option for one of the fields. Is there a way I can do it in Muse? Can anyone help me??

    Hi
    With Native Muse form widget we cannot include drop downs but if using Business Catalyst you can insert the form with drop downs and then use in Muse.

  • Can a muse subscriber reconfigure the forms widgets to something other than BC?

    Can a muse subscriber reconfigure the forms widgets to something other than BC?

    What I did for my forms was create a copy of my Muse site file where I deleted everything except for the page with the forms (there were 2 on one page, and there are none anywhere else on the site). I kept the master, made a copy of it, and took everything out of the master. I then went to the page (titled "reach me", containing two forms, one for questions, and one for a mailing list) and selected everything and grouped it. The grouped item allowed for Muse to give me a width/height of all of the elements together. i took those dimensions and set them as the page defaults on the master i had just wiped out. i set all margins, footers, padding, etc to 0 and made it 1 column. i published the site to catalyst, and then copied the url to my clipboard. opening my site up again (the muse file i made the copy from) i went to PLAN and made a copy of the Reach Me page (as a backup, should something go awry, i called it "Reach Me-old") i opened the original "reach me" (being that all my other pages linked to it and not the copy i had just made) i wiped out all of the forms and content and inserted an html code snippet. i typed:
    <style type="text/css">
    #frame {overflow-x:none;overflow-y:none;border:0px;};
    </style>
    <iframe id="frame" src="URL" width="WIDTH" height="HEIGHT" scrolling="no" seamless sandbox="" />
    * replace URL with the url you copied earlier
    *replace width and height with the ones you typed in the b-master (or it might be called "A-Master copy" in your business catalyst site
    this worked out just fine for me hope it helps you guys
    check it out working:
    ilenepricedesign.com (reach me page)
    ilenepricedesign-contact.businesscatalyst.com (the page i created an iframe of)
    ===============
    update: there were some issues with it (it worked for the most part, just some visual problems)
    i created a copy muse file, deleted all except the page and the master i needed, and uploaded as-is to catalyst. i then fixed all hyperlinks on the master for the copied muse file to link back to original site and then on site linked the menu item for the page to go to the catalyst page. this works perfectly, i dont mind the url changing when everything looks the exact same. to the average user, i think you should be fine.

  • Copying/moving Form Widgets

    Greetings all wise Muse users,
    when I move forms made with the Muse Form Widget to another page in my document all texts in the fields reset to default.
    Is that how it is suppose to work or is it a bug I wonder?

    Please provide more details , Muse should show the fields or labels same on copy of form to another page.
    By text what exactly you are referring?
    Recently Muse update was released, please update Muse and then check.
