NewSubproperty with named type in remote execution

Hello,
I have a problem in TestSTand 4.1 with using the NewSubProperty API call on a remote system. I use it to create a StationGlobal on the fly having a named type. The TestStand configuration is identical on both machines and it includes the TypePalette with the named type in question.
When executing the sequence locally on the remote computer (using the standard Operator Interface), it works. When executing it under the remote engine, it gives an error that the type is not known. Other NewSubProperty calls using built-in types work fine.
Any ideas?
Best regards
Peter
Solved!
Go to Solution.

This is a known problem that will be corrected in a future version of TestStand. The remote engine does not load type palette files so that is why the type is not found. For a workaround you should be able to load the type palettes directly by calling the LoadTypePaletteFilesEx Engine API function in your remote sequence.

  • How to execute STP with Named type table as parameter through ODBC calls.

    Hi All,
    I am using Oracle 10g release 2. I am having a Stored function which takes Named Type Table as its parameter.
    For example
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE tblName is table of someUDT.
    CREATE OR REPLACE function nestfunction(t tblName)
    return NUMBER
    as
    //function body here.
    end;
    Now, I want to call this Stored function nestfunction through ODBC calls. Also want to add multiple rows in tblName parameter.
    But am unable to perform the above mentioned task. If you have answers please, reply.
    Thanks and regards

    Hi Arik,
    Thanks for the reply. I got the solution by configuring a NonXA data source. The problem was with internal commits of the fnd_global.initialize api.
    If the DB adapter is calling aPL/SQL procedure (written inside a pakcage) using the data source configured to support XA, will expect not to have any commits in side the procedure or anywhere, the XA driver will take of the commits and whole transactions. By default the FND_GLOBAL.INITIALIZE(...) procedure will have the internal commits, so it was throwing the errors.
    The solution was configuring the a NonXA Data source in the databae adapter configuration will allow the commits inside the callings procedures. So we created Two data sources one for XA and another for NonXA and we are using the NonXA datasource whereever we are calling the EBS APIs which have the internal commits.

    But when we are creating the datasource with thin type of driver, it is working fine. We have already created a driver with name “ORACLE_DRIVER” in server using the ojdbc14.jar using Netweaver administrator consol.
    Same this is happening when we are creating the OCI type of datasource by using Netweaver administrator consol by specifying all the parameter as above and also the initial connection pool size is more than zero.
    Same thing is happening for normal (JDBC 1x) datasource creation with OCI type driver.

    This service account does not have the required user right "Log on as a service."
    User Action
    Assign "Log on as a service" to the service account on this computer. You can use Local Security Settings (Secpol.msc) to do this. If this computer is a node in a cluster, check that this user
    right is assigned to the Cluster service account on all nodes in the cluster.
    If you have already assigned this user right to the service account, and the user right appears to be removed, check with your domain administrator to find out if a Group Policy object associated
    with this node might be removing the right.
    I found following article:
    "MSSQL$MICROSOFT##WID service was unable to log on as NT SERVICE\MSSQL$MICROSOFT##WID" error when you install WID in Windows Server 2012
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2832204/en-us
    To work around the issue, use one of the following methods:
    Assign the Log on as a service user right to NT SERVICE\ALL SERVICES in the GPO that defines the user right.
    Exclude the computer from the GPO that defines the user right.
    We moved the SCCM server to OU where no policies were getting applied and then applied the new GPO to that OU. Restarted the server and we were able to install WSUS role.

  • Problem with naming certain people in Faces

    When I am using the Faces feature of Aperture 3, I have a problem with naming certain people. In particular, if I want to name someone "Tommy", I type a "T" but instead a "D" appears. If I type a "T" again then the correct letter will appear but the first letter will always be a "D" if I press "T". So when I type "Tommy" on my keyboard I see "Dommy" instead. Does anybody else have this problem?

    Yes. I thought it was because I had originally changed someone's name (Tave to Dave) and it still picked up old first letter. Workaround is typing two T's then erasing the first incorrect one. But appears we have a bu.
    I have other issues too. I have many Dave's and Jim's and I can't figure how to tell which one is.
    Maybe someone can remind us how post a bug report.

  • Can we have the 'select list with submit' type within a tabular form?

    An item can be the "Select list with submit' type so a form has no problem with it. However, when I built a tabular form manually, I couldn't find this type. There are only three types avaiable: "named", "static", and "dynamic".
    Is it possible to have the "submit" type so columns of the tabular form can be dynamically rendered based on the user inputs?
    Another question I have is how to dynamically build the tabular form with decode func. For example, if the value of col_1 is 'val_1', then build a select list in col_2; otherwise null in col_2.
    I tried to use
    select col1,
    decode (col1, 'val_1', select htmldb_item.select_list_from_lov(2, first, 'lov1') from dual, null)
    from....
    where....
    But it didn't work.
    I'd like to know whether it's feasible to have something like that.
    TIA.

    You could use a region of type PL/SQL function
    returning SQL query to dynamically build this kind of
    tabular form. However if you want to use the built-in
    multi-row insert, update and delete processes, all
    items in a column must have the same display type. Marc, thanks for the quick reply. I appreciate it.
    I got your idea. However, I need to have the javascript 'ToggleAll' as the heading so the form works as same as the built-in one. If I put the query definition into a pl/sql procedure, where I can put this html tab attribute? It can not be inside the checkbox function, otherwise the checkbox of any row would act as same as the header.
    I hope I've made this clear.
    To Vikas: It's our clients who want this, not us. :(

  • Execute PL/SQL block with named binds from within java code?

    Hi guys,
    Is there any good way to execute my PL/SQL code, for example
    BEGIN         :x := :x+1; END;
    from my Java code? I need nothing complicated, just static code block with named binds.
    I have tried the Oracle exetnded JDBC (setXXXbyName methods):
      public static void main(String[] args){     try {     Class.forName("oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleConnection");     Connection conn=DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:xe","user","password"); String SQL="begin :x:=:x+1; end;"; OracleCallableStatement stmt; stmt=(OracleCallableStatement)conn.prepareCall(SQL); stmt.setIntAtName("x", 5); stmt.registerOutParameter("x", Types.INTEGER); stmt.execute(); System.out.println(stmt.getInt("x"));     } catch (Exception x) { x.printStackTrace();    }   }
    And get the java.sql.SQLException: operation not allowed: Ordinal binding and Named binding cannot be combined!
    Then i've tried SQLJ appoach:
      public static void main(String[] args){     try {     Class.forName("oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleConnection");     Connection conn=DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:xe","user","password");       Oracle.connect(conn);       System.out.println("Connected!");           int x=3;       #sql { BEGIN         :x := :x+1;       END; };           System.out.println("x=" + x);     } catch (Exception x) { x.printStackTrace();    }   }
    And x=3 had retuned... Although 4 expected.
    Then, I've set parameter sqlj.bind-by-identifier=true
    And result is another exception! java.sql.SQLException: Missing IN or OUT parameter at index:: 2
    Can you please mark my mistakes/point to correct solution?
    Thanks in advance,
    Alexey

  • RFC error "No authorization to send IDOCs with message type ..."

    Hi all,
    I have now tried just about everything I could think of, applied all the notes mentioned on this forum but still no luck. Can anyone please help ...
    I have got a file to idoc scenario, the status in the sxmb_moni is successful, but the outbound processing logs an error. When I go to transaction SM58 I get an error for the user XIAFUSER with the message "No authorization to send IDOCs with message type WPUUMS".
    I have tried giving this user SA_ALL access and still got the same error thus concluding that this is not an authorisation error.
    Any suggestions?
    Regards,
    Liesel

    Hi Liesel,
    The RFC destination that you have put in IDoc communication channel must be present in your SAP XI system, transaction SM59 also.
    Please check if the user id/Password that you have given has all the authorization.
    Also check the User ID and passwrord in SM59 in R3 and see if a Remote Login is possible.
    There is also some configuration by which the clients are allowed / blocked from receiving Idocs from XI. Basis guys can do it for you. Please approach your basis consultant. Hopefully that helps..

    I get a NamingException thrown, with the message: Disconnected: Type code out of range, is -29.
    The jms.xml file is correct. It works against a standalone OC4J instance (therefore no tunneling) ...
    ormi://<host>:23791/<application> <admin><password>
    I'm connecting from a standalone client and using the RMIInitialContextFactory, the tunneling is working (changing oc4j username/password gets a SecurityException). What's missing? Do you have to change the jndi name when tunneling? What does -29 mean in english?

    Tunneling through the Apache HTTP server to an OC4J instance from remote standalone clients works on Linux installations of 9iAS but not on NT installations, failing with a 'Type Code out of range, is -29' error, JVM versions on client and server are the same. Also works against a standalone version of oc4j on NT, what's happening?

  • Getting error while processing EDIFACT-D96A-ORDERS.. Agreement not found for trading partners: FromTP HTP, ToTP null with document type ORDERS-D96A-OUTBOUND

    Hi Anuj & All,
        I'm trying to create an outbound scenario with EDIFACT-D96A-ORDERS. A simple SOA composite application polling data from DB and through B2B adapter 'send' option provides data to B2B system.
    Set up two partner profiles like this,
    Host:
    Name: HTP
    EDI Group ID: HTP
    EDI Interchange ID: Interchange Sen
    EDI Interchange ID Qualifier: 01
    Remote:
    Name: RTP
    EDI Group ID: RTP
    EDI Interchange ID: Interchange Rec
    EDI Interchange ID Qualifier: 01
    Other settings are as usual. Delivery channel of generic file created on RTH.
    Now, few documents settings on B2B console are like this,
    D96A-> Interchange tab
    Create UNA: Never
    ORDERS-> Transaction
    Functional Group Identifier Code: ORDERS
    Controlling Agency: UN
    - other properties are unchanged.
    On SOA side, the bpel invoke activity which calls B2B adapter has following properties:
    <invoke name="InvokeOrders"
      inputVariable="InvokeOrders_send_InputVariable"
      partnerLink="D96A.ORDERS" portType="ns2:send_ptt"
      operation="send" bpelx:invokeAsDetail="no">
    <bpelx:inputProperty name="b2b.toTradingPartnerIdType"
        expression="'NAME'"/>
    <bpelx:inputProperty name="b2b.toTradingPartnerId"
        expression="'RTP'"/>
    <bpelx:inputProperty name="b2b.messageType" expression="1"/>
    <bpelx:inputProperty name="b2b.messageId" variable="messageID"/>
    <bpelx:inputProperty name="b2b.fromTradingPartnerIdType"
        expression="'NAME'"/>
    <bpelx:inputProperty name="b2b.fromTradingPartnerId"
        expression="'HTP'"/>
    <bpelx:inputProperty name="b2b.documentTypeName"
        expression="'ORDERS'"/>
    <bpelx:inputProperty name="b2b.documentProtocolVersion"
        expression="'D96A'"/>
    <bpelx:inputProperty name="b2b.documentProtocolName"
        expression="'EDIFACT'"/>
    <bpelx:inputProperty name="b2b.documentDefinitionName"
        expression="'ORDERS_def'"/>
    <bpelx:inputProperty name="b2b.conversationId"
        variable="ConversationID"/>
    </invoke>
    The error I'm getting on B2B Console->Reports->Business Message, while running this is,

    Hi Mariusz,
        Thanks for your reply. Yes I think so, probably you're right. But finest trace level doesn't give much clues on "wrong mapped" data. Anyway, here is the detail log. Please don't forget to point out if you find something interesting.

  • Remote Execution and Speeding it up!?!

    Hi all,
    I have recently posted a few queries on parallel processing etc and have now sorted that. However (you knew there'd be a however didnt you!) I am using remote sequence calls on the proposed system we are using, due to the large amount of processing going on and the parallel threads scheme I am using.
    I have set up a simple sequence (5 LV VIs taking data from the sequence context and squirting the data into the report string, just to verify data flow) and have run this locally and remotely both from a sequence call. the difference in execution times was astonishing to say the least.
    Local Execution.
    Each vi was approx 15ms.
    Overhead was approx 25ms.
    Total Time around 100ms
    Remote execution
    Each vi was approx
    15ms again
    Overhead was around 2.9s!!!!!
    the total time was about 3 seconds to run the same sequence call remotely.
    I have tried many many things to help speed things up. I have modified the preload/unload options, I have set the sequence files and code modules up on the remote machines harddrive and set the file paths correctly.
    does anyone have any experience of speeding the remote execution up? The overhead is unacceptable for my system (I have a cycle time of 1.2s per remote execution) so I may just have to code the whole thing in LV rather than use TS
    My previous discussions...
    http://exchange.ni.com/servlet/ProcessRequest?RHIVEID=101&RPAGEID=135&HOID=5065000000080000003D440000&USEARCHCONTEXT_CATEGORY_0=_8_&USEARCHCONTEXT_CATEGORY_S=0&UCATEGORY_0=_8_&UCATEGORY_S=0

    A few ideas
    1) What parameters are you passing to the remote sequence? Parameters might end up needing to be duplicated on the other machine, this could be slow if you have a lot or big parameters(i.e. large arrays). You could pass references to the variables instead of the variables themselves to speed things up if needed. Or find other ways to reduce the number or size of parameters
    2) are you timing the first run through the uut loop or the second? the first iteration of the uut loop is going to require the remote machine to load the sequence file. This is a one time cost though as the sequence file will stay loaded as long as the sequence call step is loaded.
    3) How many step results do you have in the remote sequence (i.e. how many steps with result recordin
    g enabled)? The results for the remote sequence must be passed back to the main machine and recreated on that machine. If you have a large number of results this could be slow. You could speed things up by reducing the number of results you are storing either by disabling record results on the steps on which you don't need them, or disabling results for the entire sequence or sequence file that you are running remotely.

  • Compile error: Eclipse confuses Type with Window.Type

    Hi there,
    I'm using Eclipse Luna (Version: Luna Service Release 1a (4.4.1)) and JDK 1.8.0_31.
    Our projects are build with Maven. Maven build works without any problems and also our Netbeans users do not have any issues.
    But Eclipse shows compile errors and it seems, that it confuses the generic Java Type with java.awt.Window.Type which was introduced with Java 1.7.
    I created the following minimized example, which reproduces the compile problem.
    This class creates a instance of MyDialog which uses the generic Java Type:
    public class TypeTest {
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    String str = new String();
    MyDialog<String> dialog = new MyDialog<String>();
    String x = dialog.getValue(str);
    And this is the implementation of the dialog of type Type:
    import javax.swing.JDialog;
    public class MyDialog<Type> extends JDialog {
    public MyDialog() {
    super();
    public Type getValue(Type value) {
    return value;
    Eclipse persists that for getValue in MyDialog the Type is a Window.Type, which is wrong!
    This is the compile error message:
    The method getValue(Window.Type) in the type MyDialog<String> is not applicable for the arguments (String)
    Since it works without any issues for the maven build and the netbeans users, it seems to me that this is an Eclipse issue or bug? Or can someone give me a hint, how this can be solved?
    Thanks and kind regards,
    Daniel

    I just found that this question has never been answered, and from a cursory look I wasn't actually sure if this is a bug or not.
    Turns out I already wrote a little "essay" on what seems to be the same issue, see https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=396378#c6
    Bottom line: JLS doesn't seem to specify how to interpret / handle a conflict between an inherited member type and a same-named type parameter.
    This seems to impliy that both implementations, javac and ecj - although different - are both valid wrt JLS.

  • Difference between DEclaring Itab with DATA & TYpe Statement?

    HI Friends,
      What is the Difference between Declaring Itab with DATA & TYpe Statement?

    Hi,
    The Statements TYPES and DATA
    Each ABAP program define its own data types using the statement.
    TYPES dtype TYPE type ...
    and declare its own variables or instance attributes of classes using the statement
    DATA var {TYPE type} ...
    Within the program or a class, you can also define local data types and variables within procedures. Local variables in procedures obscure identically-named variables in the main program or class.
    When creating data types and data objects, there are a number of naming convention that also apply for other local program definitions, such as procedures. These are described in detail in the keyword documentation.
    The Additions TYPE and LIKE
    The additions TYPE type and LIKE dobj are used in various ABAP statements. The additions can have various meanings, depending on the syntax and context.
    ·        Definition of local types in a program
    ·        Declaration of data objects
    ·        Dynamic creation of data objects
    ·        Specification of the type of formal parameters in subroutines
    ·        Specification of the type of formal parameters in methods
    ·        Specification of the type of field symbols
    TYPES: BEGIN OF struct,
             number_1 TYPE i,
             number_2 TYPE p DECIMALS 2,
           END OF struct.
    DATA:  wa_struct TYPE struct,
           number    LIKE wa_struct-number_2,
           date      LIKE sy-datum,
           time      TYPE t,
           text      TYPE string,
           company   TYPE s_carr_id.
    This example declares variables with reference to the internal type STRUCT in the program, a component of an existing data object wa_struct, the predefined data object SY-DATUM, the predefined ABAP type t and STRING, and the data element S_CARR_ID from the ABAP Dictionary.
    Reward Points if found helpfull..
    Cheers,
    Chandra Sekhar.

  • Batch uploading to a document library with content types

    Hi,
    I have a document library with two content types. Now I need to upload documents to this document library. However, if I have large number of files, then uploading through web UI is a pain as metadata will not be attached. How should I automate it  from
    my computer using powershell without relying on Administrator to run the powershell script. Or is there any other way to do it without using powershell? or  can powershell be run remotely from an end user computer?
    Note I am using SharePoint 2010.

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you want to butch upload files to document library with content types.
    There are two good tools in CodePlex which can batch upload files with content types, you can have a look at them.
    DocMetaMan : Bulk document Upload and MetaData (Taxonomy) Setter
    SharePoint Multiple File Upload Script
    There are some third-party tools which can achieve the same scenario, you can refer to it.
    http://sharepoint.stackexchange.com/questions/74694/uploading-multiple-files-with-metadata
