Next record Error in Tomcat deployment of business component

I built a simple business component project for Dept in Scott table. I created a JSP client, mainly following the tutorial in Jdeveloper. Then I ran main.jsp in JDeveloper. This ran fine. I selected the deptview. I was able to scroll through department using next record arrow.
I deployed this application in Tomcat using the deployment profile as webapplication to web sever. When I run this, the main.jsp runs fine. I am also able to go to the deptview. When I try to scroll through the records using the next record arrow the top portion says page can not be found. Insert record works fine.
When I select insert record it seems to go to http://localhost:8080/sssdept1/jspsdept1_html/DeptView_Insert.jsp.
When I try to use the next record arrow it seems to go to http://localhost:8080/jspsdept1_html/DeptView_Top.jsp?DeptView_NAVIGATE=NEXT.
I think that this path is missing the sssdept1 folder. I am not sure how to add this to the usebean. Can anybody help?

Can you be more specific?
Which JSP page?
Should I work in Jdeveloper or in the created files?

  • Deployment profile for a business component deployed to 9ias?

I am trying to build a deployment profile so I can deploy my business component to an oc4j instance on my remote 9iAS machine.
In jdeveloper version 9.0.3, the "Business Component Deployment Wizard for EJB session bean" prompts for a both a "Deploy to Connection" and a "Server Connection".
I am specifying a connection to a "9i Application Server - Remote DCM" for the <deploy to connection> prompt. Per the documentation and the wizard .. you must then specify a server connection.
I don't understand the server connection piece ... The <new button> for the "server connction" only lets me build a connection a standalone OC4J. I am trying to deploy to a 9ias oc4j instance on a remote machine. I am suppose to somehow specify a connection to the remote 9ias oc4j instance as if it were a standalone instance? How do I build and specify this connection?

    Thanks Frank.
My jdevloper help system describes how to deploy to 9ias, and I have not yet spotted anything in the fine print that nullifies this.
The release notes that came with Jdeveloper version 9.0.3.10.35 show a compatibility matrix for deployments to 9ias version 9.0.3 ... my scenario is listed as supported. They note that deployment to 9ias 9.0.2 of bc4j is not suported, and J2EE/WebServices deployment has DCM issues.
FYI ... I have a TAR openned on this subject, and Metalink support personnel seems to be pretty close to declaring this a bug (internal bug#2597292 and internal bug#2495251). Specifically these bugs relate to JBO component versions 9.0.3.9.51 and 9.0.3.10.12 in reagrds to DCM connections to 9ias. If this is the case then it looks like 9iAS deployment is not supported.

  • How to setup new OC4J instance to host jdev business component (EJB)

From Jdeveloper 9.0.3 I want to deploy a business component to an new oc4j instance running under 9ias version 9.0.3.
In jdeveloper I have built and tested an application server connection (type=Oracle Application Sever Remote DCM) to my new oc4j instance on 9ias. My understanding is that the jdeveloper deployment profile wizard will help me construct a profile to build what is known as an "EJB session bean".
Using EmWebSite, I have created and started the new oc4j instance, and i constructed a datasource to be used for the database connection.
Is there anything else that I will need to do to the new 9ias oc4j instance prior to building the deployment profile in jdeveloper, and then running the deployment? For instance, does this new oc4j instance somehow have the necessary hooks in it to support this bc4j component? Do I need to install any missing jar files? Do I need to define rmi ports ? Do I need to configure BC4J support?
BTW ... I have tried to pursue this topic from the Jdeveloper side but the support personnel are not familar with 9ias 903, nor are they familar with 9ias Remote DCM deployment.

Yes, you should be able to deploy an BC4J application without making any other changes to an IAS instance. For standalone OC4J please look at http://otn.oracle.com/products/jdev/htdocs/config_oc4j_for_bc4j.html

  • Trap error within loop and process next record

    Hi,
I am processing each record inside a loop. Now if any exception occurs processing with a single record within loop I want to continue with the next record with proper error message in the log.
How to achieve the above scenario? Shall I create a savepoint and whenever any error occurs inside the loop I will rollback to that savepoint. Once it is done shall it process the next record automatically?
Thanks in advance for your reply.
    Thanks,
    Mrinmoy

    Relational databases are about sets.
They are not about files and records
Processing records in a loop will make your code slow, and you should avoid using this strategy.
    That said
Simply enclose the code in it's own begin end block.
    beginn
    <your code>
    exception
    when <your exception> then
<process the exception not reraising it>
    end;
    No savepoints required.

  • Next record on Business Document Forms

    Hi all,
I would like to make some settings on Business Document Forms regarding the current showing record. How will I know another record is presented to the user in the form? (E.g. user clicks Next/Previous etc.)
    Version: 2004 C, PL 49
    Thank you for your suggestion
    Best regards,
    Daniel Martinec

    Hi Daniel,
I'm not aware how the 2004 C version behaves. I'd never tried to use the datasource load (there must be datasources to load in order to let this work).
I'd rather suggest to capture the menuclicks.
    <b>Code (C#):
public void HandleMenuEvents(ref MenuEvent pVal, out bool BubblesEvent)
/* Previous or next records */
      if(((pVal.MenuUID == "1288") || (pVal.MenuUID == "1289") || (pVal.MenuUID == "1290") || (pVal.MenuUID == "1291")) && !pVal.BeforeAction && (SBO_Application.Forms.ActiveForm.Type == YOUR_FORM_TYPE))
/* ADD YOUR LOGIC HERE */
    Hope it helps...

I searched for this class, and it is supposed to be in uic.jar. However, when I opened that jar file it was not there. Did I set something up wrong, or is this a bug in jdeveloper?

When I am trying to open a VO inside JDeveloper for editing. The issue appears only to be with the VO's, even the ones that were automatically created at the start of the tutorial. Other types of objects can be opened for editing without incident.

  • Error occurred in deployment step 'Activate Features'

I have created an Empty SharePoint Project in Visual Studio 2010 and added a Web Part. The scope for my feature is set to "Site".
My "Active deployment configuration" is set to Default. When I click Deploy in the context menu of the project in Visual Studio i receive this output:

    ========== Build: 1 succeeded or up-to-date, 0 failed, 0 skipped ==========
    ========== Deploy: 0 succeeded, 1 failed, 0 skipped ==========
The error tells me that my feature doesn't exist.
When I open Solution Management in Central Administration, I can see that the solution is added to the solution store:
    Name: sharepointproject1.wsp
    Type: Core Solution
    Contains Web Application Resource: Yes
    Contains Global Assembly: Yes
Contains Code Access Security Policy: No
Deployment Server Type: Front-end Web server
    Deployment Status: Not Deployed
    Deployed To: None
Last Operation Result: The solution was successfully deployed.
Last Operation Details: DKCPH-MOSSDEV2 : http://dkcph-mossdev2/ : The solution was successfully deployed.
Last Operation Time: 6/1/2010 1:58 PM
The strange thing is that Deployment status is "Not Deployed" but Last Operation Result is "The solution was successfully deployed".
When I check Site Collection Features on http://dkcph-mossdev2 the feature is not there.
If I deploy the solution manually through Central Administration the solution is deployed successfully and everything works.
It seems like there is a difference between deploying with visual studio and manually in Central Administration.
Can someone give me a hint on how to make it work in Visual Studio.

Rickee that is exactly what I found as well.
I would suggest scripting out your Solution / Feature deployments using PowerShell as Microsoft has said STSADM is going away.   As you can see from my thread I had these same headaches -

    Hi,
I am facing the same Issue.
The User logging into the Portal has the suggested 2 roles for Course Player and Learner.
Can you suggest if there is any other solution that you can think off?
I had tried to access the Portal directly via the BSP HCM_LEARNING directly. I am getting the same error.
    Thanks and Regards,

  • Error 160078 when deploying WAR file after EAR file

I am tetsing an application which does automatic deployment to WebLogic 8.1 running on Windows XP using ejbgen tool through Ant.
The following deployment sequence produces an error. I deploy an EAR file with EJB JAR and WAR file inside. It deploys correctly. I then undeploy the EAR file. This also works. If I restart WebLogic server, the same deployment of the WAR file succeeds.

  • How to implement JSF text input down-arrow key = next record navigation?

    Hi All,
I've got a small query which you experts might be able to help me through. I would not be surprised if such questions would already have been raised in this forum.
Formerly, I've created an Oracle Form that allow user to quickly insert data in bulk. It only has three 3 fields - first name, second name and address. Because of the flexibility of the Oracle Form, by pressing the down arrow key, user is able to create record when the last record is detected. And vice versa by hitting the up arrow key, it will move to the previous record when the current record is not the first record. So basically, the form is very 'key-driven' and without the use of the mouse, a lot of data can be inserted very quickly and efficiently.
I've successfully converted such form to an ADF BC JSF page using the JHeadstart toolkit. But when I showed it to my users for comment, they were really disappointed with the number of mouse interactions they need to click every time to navigate between records as well as creating new records. My question is can I build some sort of ADF JSF event handler on any of the text items to perform the following tasks:
1.) When 'down arrow key' is pressed AND not the last record THEN
    Go to the next record.
2.) When 'down arrow key' is pressed AND is the last record THEN
Go to the next blank record.
3.) When 'up arrow key' is pressed AND not the first record THEN
    Go to the previous record.
4.) When 'up arrow key' is pressed AND is the first record THEN
    Do nothing.
If all the four above tasks are achievable in ADF JSF, can you please guide and brief me on the steps to implement them. Or these functionalities are already available somewhere in other open source toolkits. Your help is much appreciated. Thank you and have a nice day.
    Kind Regards,
    John

    Hi Steven,
I've tried to incoporated attached link's codes with the JHeadstart generated code inside the jspx but I still cannot get it to work. There is a lot of Javascript error and is impossible to debug.
    Regards,
    John
