Deployment profile for a business component deployed to 9ias?

I am trying to build a deployment profile so I can deploy my business component to an oc4j instance on my remote 9iAS machine.
In jdeveloper version 9.0.3, the "Business Component Deployment Wizard for EJB session bean" prompts for a both a "Deploy to Connection" and a "Server Connection".
I am specifying a connection to a "9i Application Server - Remote DCM" for the <deploy to connection> prompt. Per the documentation and the wizard .. you must then specify a server connection.
I don't understand the server connection piece ... The <new button> for the "server connction" only lets me build a connection a standalone OC4J. I am trying to deploy to a 9ias oc4j instance on a remote machine. I am suppose to somehow specify a connection to the remote 9ias oc4j instance as if it were a standalone instance? How do I build and specify this connection?

Thanks Frank.
My jdevloper help system describes how to deploy to 9ias, and I have not yet spotted anything in the fine print that nullifies this.
The release notes that came with Jdeveloper version 9.0.3.10.35 show a compatibility matrix for deployments to 9ias version 9.0.3 ... my scenario is listed as supported. They note that deployment to 9ias 9.0.2 of bc4j is not suported, and J2EE/WebServices deployment has DCM issues.
FYI ... I have a TAR openned on this subject, and Metalink support personnel seems to be pretty close to declaring this a bug (internal bug#2597292 and internal bug#2495251). Specifically these bugs relate to JBO component versions 9.0.3.9.51 and 9.0.3.10.12 in reagrds to DCM connections to 9ias. If this is the case then it looks like 9iAS deployment is not supported.

  • Status profile for  Install base component

    Hi,
As part of project requirement,we have to maintain status profile at Install base component level.Wwe are maintaining one install base for single customer and all his multiple locations comes under this install base. So,as per client requirement we have to mainatin status at Install base object level.
As per standard functionality,we can maintain status profile at Install base header in status management>status profile>object type
But,I could not find how to maintain status profile at Install base component of type object  level.I think we have to do enhancement for it.
Request expert opinion on this.If its configuration, then how to do this.If its BADI,then what are  details of BADI.If its enhancement, then details of it.

    Hi,
You need to add the below Object Types in your user status profile.
Go into your user status profile and click on the Object Types as highlighted below and then enable the list of object types. Then you will be able to see the status profile in the IBase header.
Enable these object types for IBase.
    Allowed Object Types
    General Object
    Ibase Header

  • Problem with query an External Business Component!

    Hi guys,
I have created a Business Object based on an External Business Component.
In a WorkFlow in a step of type 'Siebel Operation' for operation I chose 'Query'.
In the section 'Search Spec Input Argument'
For 'Search Specification' I tiped " [Flag] <> 'N' " and no rows are selected :( (for sure there are rows in the table that are true for this condition)
For 'Expression Business Component' and 'Filter Business Component' I tiped my BC
I also would like to mentioned my BC has a field with 'Name' = 'Flag'
I am not sure that my description is quite clear, if you have any questions please ask.
Edited by: slyy on Jun 10, 2010 11:41 PM

Is the WF based on a Business Object i.e. does the WF record (where you specify Workflow Mode, and give it a name) have an entry in the Business Object field?
If it does, is the Business Component that you try to query on the driving business component of that business object?
If not, then that is the problem.

  • Why business component does not support generics method parameter

    Hi Folks,
I have created a business component and in this business component I have added a public method which takes a parameter - List of map (Like List<Map<String, String>> inputListOfMap). Now when I try to run the artifacts for this business component it gives an error
    ERROR
com.splwg.shared.common.LoggedException: No method declaration for createListElements found matching argument types [List, Element, String, String] with pattern public\s+(final\s+)?(<[^>]*>\s+)?([\w\.]+)\s*(<[\w<>,\s\.]+>)?\s+createListElements\s*\(\s*((\w*\.)+)?(List)(\<[^\>]*\>)?\s+\w+,\s*((\w*\.)+)?(Element)(\<[^\>]*\>)?\s+\w+,\s*((\w*\.)+)?(String)(\<[^\>]*\>)?\s+\w+,\s*((\w*\.)+)?(String)(\<[^\>]*\>)?\s+\w+\s*\)\s*(throws [^\{]+\s*)?[;\{]
After checking the spl-tool2.2.0 jar class JavaSourceFile.java i am guessing that such method parameters are not supported. It compiles well if its a simple Map or List. Also works fine if I make the method as private. But in this case I cannot use this method from any other class... which I don't want.
it would be great help if anyone can suggest what needs to be done to overcome this issue
Following is the method of Business Component
    public void createListElements(List<Map<String, String>> inputListOfMap, Element sourceElement, String groupName, String listElementName) {

              Element groupElement = null;

    Hi Victor,
the issue is that the archive pool in your NWDS is not set up properly. Could you check the configuration of the development configuration? I guess you are developing in Local Development, right? Please check in the "Component Browser" that the two Software Components "NWMCLIENT" and "XOCA" are present and contain some DCs inside them. If this is not true, than something went wrong with your setup of the IDE. The modifications of the default.confdef are most likely not right.
Please come back to me if you don´t know how to proceed.

  • Next record Error in Tomcat deployment of business component

I built a simple business component project for Dept in Scott table. I created a JSP client, mainly following the tutorial in Jdeveloper. Then I ran main.jsp in JDeveloper. This ran fine. I selected the deptview. I was able to scroll through department using next record arrow.
I deployed this application in Tomcat using the deployment profile as webapplication to web sever. When I run this, the main.jsp runs fine. I am also able to go to the deptview. When I try to scroll through the records using the next record arrow the top portion says page can not be found. Insert record works fine.
When I select insert record it seems to go to http://localhost:8080/sssdept1/jspsdept1_html/DeptView_Insert.jsp.
When I try to use the next record arrow it seems to go to http://localhost:8080/jspsdept1_html/DeptView_Top.jsp?DeptView_NAVIGATE=NEXT.
I think that this path is missing the sssdept1 folder. I am not sure how to add this to the usebean. Can anybody help?

  • Deployment on  9iAS of Business Component

I have an Application server 9iAS version 1.0.2.0. I have
    installed oc4j vers. 1.0.2.2 on 9iAS. I have developed a
Business Component to deploy to the Application server as
session EJB. The application server was set successfully, and
also the EJB server. I have set the datasource to connect to.
But when I test the BComponent module (with its TEST tool) I
    receive this error message:

    What could be the problem?
I have thought it could be due to a version problem. What about

    Hi Mr.Reddy,
To migrate from weblogic to oracle, remove all
*._stub,*._skel, *.ser files in fileEJB.jar file and rebundle it
and keep in applications folder. According to my knoweldge,
there is no way to specify jts connection pools in data-

  • Field 'Contract Period' does not exist in definition for business component

    Hi everyone
I create a Field "Contract Period" in BC "Quote" with an extended table and put it in the applet view "Quote Full Form Applet" the field works fine in the view, we can update and insert information in it and shows perfect in the database also.
Our problem is when create a Integration Object for reports in BIP Reports the system said something like this when we try to generate the sample data:
ObjMgrLog     Error     1     0000002d4cd016bc:0     2010-11-02 13:18:39     (adptutils.cpp (5715)) SBL-EAI-04376: Method 'FieldValue' of business component 'Quote' (integration component 'Quote Template') returned the following error:
"Field 'Contract Period' does not exist in definition for business component 'Quote'.
We compiled the BC and the IC, and did the Deployment of the IC in Tools but it didn't work, the thing here is if I remove this field the report works fine. Is there any other component or Object that we have to compile to get Siebel recognition?
    Any ideas?

  • Action profile for Business Partners

    Dear SAPers,
Currently Action profile, can be easily set-up for Business transactions (Opp, Activity,etc.).
Examle: When Opp status is changed (schedule condition, start condition), Business Parnter attribute is adapted (Execution).
Does anyone know if Action profile can  be set-up for Business Partner?
Examle: When BP is changed (schedule condition, start condition), Business transaction attribute is adapted (Execution).
In standard, it does not look possible.
Should it be possible from Business Parnter BADI (check_before_save) to generate the schedule condition of a set of Business transactions e.g Opp.
    Thanks for any help.

    Hi Marc,
Yes. As of today you can customize the Action Profiles to trigger actions for Business Transactions only. This is not available for the Business Partners. So, your approach of Business Partner BADI sounds a very reasonable solution to achieve the functionality.
And for the Business Partner BADI that you mentioned here I was unable to find any such BADI in SAP CRM 7.0 system. Can you let me know from which system you got that BADI name?
I got a BADI of BP - COM_PARTNER_BADI. Can you have a look at the implementations of it so as to have a understanding of it's usage.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Samantak.

  • How to setup new OC4J instance to host jdev business component (EJB)

From Jdeveloper 9.0.3 I want to deploy a business component to an new oc4j instance running under 9ias version 9.0.3.
In jdeveloper I have built and tested an application server connection (type=Oracle Application Sever Remote DCM) to my new oc4j instance on 9ias. My understanding is that the jdeveloper deployment profile wizard will help me construct a profile to build what is known as an "EJB session bean".
Using EmWebSite, I have created and started the new oc4j instance, and i constructed a datasource to be used for the database connection.
Is there anything else that I will need to do to the new 9ias oc4j instance prior to building the deployment profile in jdeveloper, and then running the deployment? For instance, does this new oc4j instance somehow have the necessary hooks in it to support this bc4j component? Do I need to install any missing jar files? Do I need to define rmi ports ? Do I need to configure BC4J support?
BTW ... I have tried to pursue this topic from the Jdeveloper side but the support personnel are not familar with 9ias 903, nor are they familar with 9ias Remote DCM deployment.

Yes, you should be able to deploy an BC4J application without making any other changes to an IAS instance. For standalone OC4J please look at http://otn.oracle.com/products/jdev/htdocs/config_oc4j_for_bc4j.html
