If I want to connect to my local nfs-server. (which works fine on the command-line:
sudo mount -t nfs 127.0.0.1:/share /mnt/share)
I get the following error-message:
"Connection to host An RPC error occurred. is broken"
FYI:
lan://localhost/192.168.1.99 (my internal IP)

Hallo -
Dreamweaver is locking me out when I try to connect to the host via ftp. I get the error message: "An ftp error has occurred - cannot make connection to host". This error message started yesterday when I used the wrong host ftp address too many times. I have since received the correct ftp address from my website host, but the system won't even let me log in...it just gives me that error message when I click the connection button on the panel. My website host recommends that I uninstall Dreamweaver and re-install it again. My concern is, if I un-install the Dreamweaver app, which I downloaded from the Cloud, will the Cloud know I've un-installed Dreamweaver and allow me to download it again? Please help.
See my response in your most recent thread. Please don't double post like that - it can confuse things considerably when replies come in to both threads.

I love iTap Mobile. Paid for the app. Sorry to see them discontinue it, but now I know why. Microsoft bought them out! But even though free, I am getting an error: RPC Error: Your connection was denied because of a Resource Access
Policy (TS_RAP). Please contact your server administrator. (2147965402). I worked with iTap to fix this so I guess they sold Microsoft their older buggy code... Microsoft, please fix!
PS: This is the Android version. Mac and iOS are both okay.
EDIT: After an update a few months ago, iOS is no longer working. Not sure if the problem is related to the Android MSRDP issue.
UPDATE - Relevant posts (need Android RDP software engineer to fix):
Event Viewer Log when using Android client:
The user
"DOMAIN\testuser", on client computer "10.x.x.x", met connection authorization policy requirements and was therefore authorized to access the RD Gateway server. The following authentication method was used: "NTLM". (This
is most likely for logging into RD Web - icons shows up).
The
user "DOMAIN\testuser", on client computer "10.x.x.x", did not meet resource authorization policy requirements and was therefore not authorized to resource"localhost".
The following error occurred: "23002". (This is after clicking on any
of the icons).
I
think the Android MS RDP client is providing the incorrect resource. It shouldn't be "localhost".
It should be the RD Connection Broker's hostname, I believe.
Here's what it should look like (connected using a Windows PC going
through the RD Web portal via Internet Explorer):
The user "DOMAIN\testuser", on client computer "10.x.x.x", met connection
authorization policy requirements and was therefore authorized to access the RD Gateway server. The following authentication method was used: "NTLM".
The user "DOMAIN\testuser", on client computer "10.x.x.x", met resource
authorization policy requirements and was therefore authorized to connect to resource "rdsfarm.domain.com".
The user "DOMAIN\testuser", on client computer "10.x.x.x", connected
to resource "rdsfarm.domain.com".
Stephan,
Do you have any way to contact the software engineer who worked on the Android version of the RDP client? Please
have them read this thread. They need to fix the hard coded "localhost" resource to be a variable (namely whatever the user put in for the server).
This is why the MS RDP app is failing in situations where the FQDN for the RD Gateway and Connection Broker uses
the same host name.
Again, this is not a configuration problem on our end as it works as intended with the native Windows RDP client
as well as the Mac and iOS version of the mobile RDP client (all based on iTap Mobile's RDP app).
This is a problem specific to the Android RDP app.
PS: No matter how hard I try, the WYSIWYG editor is not very WYSIWYG at all, and so everything here looks messed up even though it looked right when I posted it (it is deleting new blank lines I'm inserting to make it spaced out and easier to read). See
below to read the post in context.Thanks for the bumps, everyone. I haven't check this thread in a while because I basically gave up on Microsoft's ability to respond. Unlike paid apps, there's no number to call or ticket to open when an app like this malfunctions.
Just to give you an update, iOS users started having issues connecting a few months ago. I don't remember what version started this. I'm not sure if it's the same problem.
Also, the newest version now gives a slightly different error message: RpcOverHttpEndpointException: 2, Your connection was denied because of a Resource Access Policy (TS_RAP). Please contact your server administrator.
For Android users, I am starting to recommend Xtralogic Remote Desktop Client. It's a paid app, but it works great. I don't know of any alternative for iOS.
MSRDP for Mac OSX (was also an iTap application) continues to work throughout the many updates.
We need a software engineer from MS to read my first post. All the information that will point to a fix is there. I strongly believe someone hardcoded the string "localhost" instead of using a variable to point to the FQDN of the rdsfarm
name.
Here's that info again (copied/pasted). It doesn't take an engineer to understand the issue. If you know how to decipher Event Logs, you can see where the problem is.

AFP fails to connect to a PC volume and gives a "version of the server you are trying to connect to is not supported" error message.
Has anybody come across this error and found a fool-proof solution? I have found some stuff on the web but nothing seems to work. In particular this one on the Apple Help doesn't:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4700
I have a W2K3 server where the volume is. It's a new Mac with OSX 10.8 and is connecting with AFP (I don’t want to move to SMB yet). There are older Macs with lower OS and all of them work fine. I have checked all the basic stuff and it is set-up correctly (hosts file on Mac, network, etc.).
Any help greatly appreciated,
Cheers,

Dreamweaver quits as I try to connect to host
I'm using a Mac Pro. I've copied the software across, and
exported the DW files but when I now try to connect it quits after
contacting the host! Is there something I have maybe missed to
allow the connection or is thsi one of those problems which is now
gonna drive me insaaaane!!!!?
I tried it on the old computer and it connected no problem.
Since posting the mssg above, I tried 1. to create a new site
and did a test connection and it worked, 2. then went to 'edit
site' on the one I'm having probs with and this connected too...!
It's just when I click the 'connects to host' button in the sites
panel that it quits. Does that give any more light on the
situ...???
Thx

Any chance the server is a mapped drive and you need to map
to the
right drive letter or something? -
DW CS4 "cannot make connection to host" (since upgrade to CS4 from CS3)
Recently updated from CS3 to CS4. (I had previously upgraded to OS 10.5, and everything was fine in CS3 under 10.5.)
Everything looked OK in CS4 (I saw files in DW, but I did not try to connect to any hosts) so I wiped CS3.
Later I noticed that the login and password for hosts had all been erased.
When I put them in, they stay.
BUT every single remote host gives me:
"cannot make connection to host"
Logging in using a numerical IP address instead of domain name does not help.
Logging in with an FTP client (e.g. Fetch) works, though.
Can anyone help me with this...??
Mac under OS 10.5.7Wow. This is really painful. Has anyone tried to use Adobe technical/customer support lately?! Bloody awful.
I am on hold on my fifth call, right now.
Four times I phoned in and had to explain everything all over again.
Three times a representative said they would "escalate" the issue (which apparently means "trash-heap" it), and then call me back.
Never did I get one call back.
Before calling in I tried for two weeks to puzzle this out on my own.
Now work is backing up and I STILL cannot use my copy of Dreamweaver.
WTF, Adobe?? -
when i connect my iphone 4,an error message saying usb device is malfunctioning is appearing...can anyone give me a solution for this?i tried using on a different pc.but still get the same result..
First thing i would try is to use another cable if available.

Hi all!
In a simple two node cluster (Solaris cluster 3.2) with quorum server I've created a resource for jboss 5.1.0 using SUNW.gds. It is supposed to be load-balanced. To achieve that I've followed instructions from [http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E18728_01/html/821-1258/gds-25.html]
The command I've used to create the resource was:
clresource create -g scalable-rg -t SUNW.gds -p resource_dependencies=vip -p Scalable=TRUE -p Start_timeout=400 -p Stop_timeout=400 -p Probe_timeout=30 -p Port_list=8080/tcp -p Start_command="/opt/jboss-5.1.0.GA/bin/run.sh -b 0.0.0.0" -p Child_mon_level=0 -p Failover_enabled=TRUE -p Stop_signal=15 -p Load_balancing_policy=LB_STICKY_WILD jboss-rs
The whole configuration seems to work, but when the second node joins cluster, resource with jboss can't bind to shared ip address. There are many entries in /var/adm/messages like:
Jan 19 13:46:35 play SC[,SUNW.gds:6,scalable-rg,jboss-rs,gds_svc_start]: [ID 141062 daemon.error] Failed to connect to host vip and port 8080: Connection refused.

However, after some time, it finally somehow binds to shared ip and port 8080.
Is this something I should be worried about? Or it is a normal thing, since e.g. it takes some time to bring the interface with shared ip up? I've never had to install such configuration, and I don't have neither intuiton, nor the experience. Any help would be very appreciated.
Thanks a bunch,
BartHi, a couple of things to check:
- did you check that both JBOSS instances were up and running?
- can you check in the logs (on both nodes) when a message saying something like "service .... registered..." showed up. This should show up for both JBOSS instances. From the time of the second "registered" message, the load balancer should sending incoming requests to both instances using its distribution mechanism
- did you check the vip address on one of the nodes on an external interface and on lo0 on the other
- connection refused looks like a server problem; can you connect to the JBOSS instance locally?
Hth
Hartmut -
I upgraded from Dreamweaver CS4 to CS6. but now when I want to upload I get "an TFP error occured - cannot make connection to host". I spent hours with the host technician and we cant find the error. I reinstalled DW4 and it connects to host perfectly. Anyone else seen this problem?
Mac OS 10.8.5
None of these issues are causing the error in DW CS6. We have double checked all of them and we have everything exactly right. Also I have exactly the same SiteSetup in DW CS4 and that works perfectly well. Could there must be factor in 6 that didn't exist in 4? Something that isnt in the SiteSetup but in some hidden dialog box ?
I can also upload to my host using Fetch, a third party FTP. And as I said DW CS4 works fine. So the problem is not with my host, its with DW CS6 in particular.Thank you Jon, that fixed it perfectly. You have saved me from going crazy. The only difference I see now is in "Server Name" it changed what I had entered (my ftp address) to "Remote Server"; which seems odd -- but it works! Although I know there maybe also some other dialog box I have never seen
Of course I saw that menu item "Import" and but I thought thats obviously not for me: "Why would I want to import an entire website?". I did not however see "Export the selected site" for thats only a tiny icon in the footer. However I would have thought the same: "Why would I want to export my entire website?".
An observation: I've seen this problem in a lot of Adobe software, the menu-names of items are obscure, non descriptive. What would be better would be for the menu names or popups to say "Export Site Setup settings" and "Import Site Setup settings" -
An FTP Error occured - cannot make connection to host. No response from the server
"An FTP Error occured - cannot make connection to host. No response from the server".
As of today this is all i get when trying to connect to every single ftp account i have. It's not the server cause it's every one and there is several different. Tried passive and non-passive same result. I've connected fine with other FTP clients. So this must be another dreamweaver bug. Anyone know what to do?Very hard to diagnose these problems, particularly as you can connect using a 3rd party program.
See if the 'timeout' issue could be at play here:

I am trying to read mails from my outlook microsoft exchange server. Following is the code:
public void readEmailsFromOutlook(/*String host, String username, String password*/ ) throws MessagingException, IOException {
String host = "hostname";
String username = "domain\\username";
String password = "password"
// Create empty properties
Properties props = System.getProperties();
props.setProperty("mail.smtp.auth","true");
props.setProperty("mail.store.protocol","imaps");
props.setProperty("mail.imap.auth.plain.disable","true");
props.setProperty("mail.imap.host",host);
props.setProperty("mail.imap.port","993");
props.setProperty("mail.imap.user",username);
props.setProperty("mail.imap.pwd",password);
props.setProperty("mail.imap.debug","true");
props.setProperty("mail.imap.ssl.protocols","SSL");
props.setProperty("mail.imap.socketFactory.class", "javax.net.ssl.SSLSocketFactory");
props.setProperty("mail.imap.socketFactory.fallback", "false");
props.setProperty("mail.imap.socketFactory.port", "993");
// Get session
Session session = Session.getInstance(props, new ExchangeAuthenticator(username, password));
session.setDebug(true);
// Get the store
Store store = session.getStore("imaps");
//Store store = session.getStore();
store.connect(host, username, password);
// Get folder
Folder folder = store.getFolder("INBOX");
folder.open(Folder.READ_ONLY);
BufferedReader reader = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(
System.in));
// Get directory
Message message[] = folder.getMessages();
for (int i = 0, n = message.length; i < n; i++) {
System.out.println(i + ": " + message[i].getFrom()[0] + "\t"
+ message[i].getSubject());
System.out.println("Read message? [YES to read/QUIT to end]");
String line = reader.readLine();
if ("YES".equalsIgnoreCase(line)) {
System.out.println(message[i].getContent());
} else if ("QUIT".equalsIgnoreCase(line)) {
break;
// Close connection
folder.close(false);
store.close();
But it threw the following error:

Whats wrong with my code?
Please help!!!!You're using the "imaps" protocol, but you've set properties for the "imap" protocol. Change all the property names from mail.imap.* to mail.imaps.*.
Also, get rid of all the socket factory properties.
If you still can't connect, see these connection debugging tips.
Most likely you're using the wrong host name or port number. In almost all cases, it's better to just let JavaMail choose the correct port number.
