NI-8452 Stream Mode more than 64bits?

I hava an SPI ADC which I want to read using the stream API for high conversion rates (using the NI-8452) but want to read back all 7 ADC channels in one multi-read SPI command. The maximum number of bits that the stream API seems to support is 64 bits where I need to really read out about 232 (7 x 32 + 8 for the read command). Is there any way around this?
I use the stream mode to detect a DRDY event, but once a single channel is read the output on the ADC chip is reset (so subsequent interrupts will only be generated on new data).
Seems fairly limited otherwise.

The payload that you are trying to stream is not a standard for SPI. We try to follow the SPI standards and give you up to 64 bits to stream at a time. If you cannot split your reads into separate 64 bit reads, you will be unable to perform this operation with the 8452. If you had some other interface, such as FPGA, you my be able to implement a custom SPI protocol on the FPGA. With the 8452, however, you do not have these options.

Is it possible to stream to more than one Airport Express at a time? I'd like to be able to hear my itunes in the family room AND upstairs (and also on my office computer) so I don't have to switch locations all the time as I move through the house. Is that possible?

As currectly designed, iTunes does not support streaming of music to more than one Airport Express at a time.
The only workaround is to log on to your Mac under two different user names. Run iTunes under each user name, with each running copy streaming to a different Airport Express. Switch between running users with the "fast user switching" feature of the MacOS. Problem with this workaround - if you want to play the same music to both Airport Express devices, it is virtually impossible to get the sound from the two in sync.

Streaming to more than one Airport

I have installed the update for iTunes (the new version beign 6.02) which advertises as allowing simulatneous streaming to more than one airport express (up to three). When I try to select more than one express station (by holding the shift key while selecting the additional location) I receive a prompt that the location does not support playback as a group. How do I configure the express to support playback as a group.

Try selecting "multiple" from the speaker selection menu, that use the window that pops up to check off the speakers you want. It seems to work here. ( I do hav the latest AEX update.) What's cool is that even the computer speakers stay in sync with the remote speakers; something that Airfoil couldn't do.

How do i stream to more than one airplay device on an ipad

I have an Apple TV connected to a TV/hifi set up and I want to stream music/internet radio to other rooms simultaneously (more than 2). I have read that the only way is to do it from itunes on my PC, but I want to do it from an ipad or iphone. I've read various threads that suggest you can do it, but before I spend good money on an airplay sound doc for the kitchen and bedroom, has anyone done this succesfully without quick fixes that invovle a PC and third party software? My other option is a Sonos setup but as I already have the Apple TV, I don't want to re-invent the wheel?

Where are the folders on your computer that you are trying to sync ? If they are directly underneath the folder that you have selected at the top of the Photos tab then the 'selected folders' option should not be greyed out - is that where the photos that you are trying to sync located on your computer ?

Simultaneous streams in more than two rooms

Hello there!
I am thinking about unwire my flat and put a little stereo in almost every room and connect it with my PowerMac. I like hearing to music a lot, so I want to have music playing in at least 2 rooms at the same time. Is this possible with the AirPort Express, AirTunes etc. I have made a picture so you can better understand what I am up to. I will be happy to become an answer.

Sharing an output stream from more than 1 thread.

I have a problem, an ObjectOutputStream is giving me a nullpointerexception.
I have a thread which connects to a server application and uses object input/output streams to communicate. This thread will deal with any incoming requests from the server concurrently from the main program. I presumed you could use the same Socket connection that was created in this thread to send objects from other threads (for example the main thread) but I think I presumed wrong.
This is part of the class which runs as a separate thread:

Anyway my question is; do you have to create a new socket for each thread (bear in mind I haven't yet put in synchronization features) or is this nothing to do with that?

Create a communication thread. Give it the control over the socket. Have it expose a BlockingQueue that takes some form of "tasks". As a thread, that communicator polls its queue, and executes the tasks. Other threads post their tasks on the queue and wait until they're completed. Look for clues in the java.util.concurrent package.

Can my iPad stream music to more than one set of speakers?

I have an original iPad with whatever is the most current OS that is available for this model May I stream music fro my iPad to MORE THAN ONE set of speakers at once? I definitely can stream to ONE set but can't figure out how to stream to more than one room, consecutively. Is it possible? Also, can it be done on a (newest) Touch? Thank you,

PS: I should add that I already have speakers in three rooms which stream fine when I use my MacBook Pro as the source. I also might mention that I use Apple Airport Express units in all three rooms and they all work perfectly with the MacBook.

Apple's Remote app can control iTunes on the computer as well as all your AirPlay speakers through your iPad, touch and iPhones.

That depends what you mean. If you mean can you purchase from more than one iTunes account on the Apple TV, then the answer is no. If you mean can you stream from more than one iTunes library, which use different accounts, then the answer is yes, so long as they both use the same ID and password for homesharing.

It won't add them to the same group, it will create another group and you will be able to choose to view by a specific calendar(s) or all calendars. If you display all (or more than one) of your calendars (as I do in the image below), events are denoted by different colours.

The IDSM-2 ports need to be configured as trunk ports with multiple vlans rather than as access ports.

And instead of creating an inline interface pair by pairing Gig0/7 with Gig0/8 within the IDSM-2 configuration, you would create inline vlan pairs.
With an inline vlan pair you pair 2 vlans on the same interface.
You can have up to 255 inline vlan pairs on each interface (assumining you keep the total traffic from all of the pairs within the IDSM-2s performance limit of around 500Mbps)

The other aspect you need to be aware of is that not all IOS versions will support configuring the IDSM-2 data ports as trunk ports for inline vlan pairs.
Your best bet is to use 12.2(18)SXF4 or a later version on the 12.2(18)SXF train.
The 12.2(33)SR train does not currently support the trunk feature for the IDSM-2.

Welcome to the Apple community.
The simple answer is yes you can. On a single user computer, the user can have secondary iCloud accounts, which they can add through the system preferences > mail, contacts and calendars. The only drawback here is that only the primary iCloud account can use photo stream. This can be worked around by having a second user account on the Mac. Each user account could then have a different primary iCloud account, one for you and one for him, your account could then receive your photo stream pictures.
Are you also aware that you can have iCloud on your PC and download your photos stream pictures to it.

IMac (2008) OS10.6.8 - Main menu freezes when running more than one application at a time. Apple and 3rd party applications - all freeze the main menu. Safe mode seems to work OK. Tried repairing permissions - didn't work.

For the past 60 days I've experienced Main Menu freeze when running more than one application at a time. iPhoto, Preview, Text Edit, Epson Scan, Firefox and Thunderbird are the apps I use almost daily. No matter what I do, when more than one is running they will freeze the Main Menu (top of the screen). I've tried booting is Safe Mode and I don't seem to have a problem. I've tried several suggestions from repairing permission (DiskUtility) to eliminating specifis login items. Nothing works. I've posted this issue on the Apple forum several times and no one else has experienced this problem. I hesitate to take my iMac to the Apple Store or a private Apple repair service until I've exhausted all of my options. Do I have any more options?

There's really no need to submit to Apple, it's just a round file cabinet on the other end, especially with 10.6 or earlier.
This sure sounds like a resource problem...
See if the Disk is issuing any S.M.A.R.T errors in Disk Utility...

Open Activity Monitor in Applications>Utilities, select All Processes & sort on CPU%, any indications there?
How much RAM & free space do you have also, click on the Memory & Disk Usage Tabs.
Open Console in Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens.

Sorry - should have been more specific. As far as I can see, Keynote will only allow me to see the current slide and the next slide on my laptop when I am presenting a slideshow through a projector. But an old version of PowerPoint allowed me to show the current slide....and (adjustable) many more slides ahead (say 10)....so I could simply jump ahead to a 'future' slide and skip several slides in between. Net result being that I was able to matcgh my slides to group discussions rather than stick to a fixed, predetermined slide show.
As much as it pains me, without this facility - PowerPoint (old verson, not current one) is more useful for me! :-((
