NI MAX works but LabVIEW Instrument I/O VISA does not
Hello,
I am trying to communicate with SIM900 mainframe using RS232 connection in a VI but it is not working.
It is strange because the communication works when I use NI MAX or MATLAB Instrument Control Toolbox but it doesn't when using LabVIEW VISA functions such as VISA Open, VISA Write, or VISA Read, etc.
I confirmed that I use the correct serial settings (baud rage, data its, parity...), so it is hard to find out what might be the reason of this issue.
Could anyone help me resolve this?

What are you using for a termination character? Are you using one of the example VIs where the string control is set for '\' Codes Display?

Have you checked whether you have folder for PSE Organizer? It is normally at this location in Windows 7 and Windows 8/8.1:
<C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 12 Organizer>
If the folder is there then try double-clicking on the file called: PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe
If the folder isn't there at all then you need to re-install the package again using your original disks or from download from Adobe website. <Download Photoshop Elements products | 13, 12, 11, 10>

I have a puzzling situation implementing an Internet routing pilot project and I need someone with a fresh look at the matter because I cannot make-out what the problem is…
Scenario description:
2901 router with two (one used) DSL intf’s on board and its two GE ports connected to a switch via Port-Channel sub-int’f (router-on-a-stick is implemented). The router has two other WAN (Internet) connections via a Satelite link and a MetroEthernet link. These two are terminated on the switch on intf’s at the appropriate VLAN’s. At attached topology scheme I depict them all collocated on the router for “simplicity” (logical topology) since the router has intf’s at the corresponding networks. The aDSL and Metro links have an 8-IP public set, each.
Most servers/hosts utilize VLAN 10 (int port-channel 1.10) but they need to forward their internet traffic to corresponding Internet links so PBR is used. VLAN/subnet (all /24) pairs are:
VLAN 11 -> 10.0.1.x
VLAN 12 -> 10.0.2.x
VLAN 13 -> 10.0.3.x
VLAN 71 -> 192.168.17.x
VLAN 204 -> 172.16.204.x
and – last but not least ! – VLAN 10 -> 10.0.0.x
All servers use static 1-1 NAT while all other hosts/PC’s use the Metro link (PAT).
Situation: All PBR rules and static NAT’s of VLAN 10 behave as expected. So does the PAT for hosts of all other VLAN’s (11, 12, 13, …). The rest of the hosts of VLAN 10, i.e. PC’s with IP’s 10.0.0.x (in red), cannot get to the Internet !
What is puzzling is that traffic is matched (by ACL) and NAT does occur but all I see (via “sh ip nat tra”) are the translations of the DNS requests ! Nothing else ! To top that, tracerouting a public IP does lead to the target but when hitting that same public IP (not by name) on the browser can’t load the page !
Could pls someone spot what I’m missing !!

Using Web Service to localhost in IIS works, but remote W/S to IIS does not
I have built an Air application that connects to a MS CRM web service (port 5555) and it works fine when I am on the server (the web service recognizes the user credentials in .NET function calls), but when I run the AIR app on a workstation and try to connect, the server responds with a 50x error ( authentication). I have tried adding the username and password to the URL and that did not get me any closer to figuring out the problem. I have tried different authentication methods on IIS without success. The client machines are all located in the same Windows Active Directory Domain / local area network with the server - no routing.
We are not exposing any ports to the Internet.
I am using the Web Service classes that are generated using the Flex Builder Data/Import
I am using Flex Builder 3 with the 3.5a version of the Flex framework.
I have installed Flash player with the latest version
the Windows server is running IIS 7 on Server 2008
How do I get a connection that works? (samples anyone?)
Is this an Air configuration issue, or a limitation of the framework?

In principle, if a web service can be accessed from localhost, it could also be accessed from remote. So perhaps the traffic was blocked by the firewall. Please check the firewall setting of your machine, especially the Windows firewall. You could turn off the firewall for a while and have a try.
And you can use some web service client tool (like soupUI) to test if the web service is accessible to the remote.

RFC works but web service for that RFC does not work..weird??

I created an RFC enabled function module to create a Sales Order in SAP CRM for both for Varinat Configurable and Normal Materials.
The RFC Works well...if i test it..it creates an order and if i go and check the sales order in CRM GUI. i find that sales order is perfect with the configuration data for the configurable items..
Now i created a Web service for this RFC by calling the Web service creation wizard.
Now i am testing the Web service in SOAMANGER T-code and the sales order is created and weird thing the configuration data is missing for Varinat configurable item..
But i dont encounter this problem if i am testing the RFC directly
What could be wrong...why is my web service behaving weird?

I put a break point using external debugger and when i was testing the Web service in SOAMANAGER..
i could then land into ABAP debugger.
There in my RFC i put a logic such that i diffenetiate between VC and Non-VC items and fill the Charateristic Values only if it is aVC item.
I saw that the IF condition was not executing as they suddenly changed the material structure in ECC and it reflected in CRM.
SO i am inputting 18 digits of material no like '000000000000000001' for '1'...but the if condition was checking against 1 =1 so that loop never executed and chara values are not getting filled.
But if i test RFC in se37 ..it works as i am inputting 1...
Since Web service works with XML (WSDL) need to be very careful with the format in which data is inputted and the format in which the logic we wrote in RFC works.

Ssh login works but main login on remote machine does not
I have a PPC Mac mini with Tiger installed at a co-locate with a static ip. I also have remote desktop and I recently discovered that although I can successfully log into my remote machine on a terminal using ssh I can't log into the machine using RD. It connects, in other words I see my remote desktop with the choices for logging in. But if I choose my account, which is the only one to choose, and enter my password I get the shakes, the dialog shakes letting me know I did something wrong. I know my password is right because I have it written down and I can log in using ssh. Why would these be different? My apologies if this question is not in the right forum. I wasn't sure where to post this.
Have you set up the account in the Sharing -> Remote Desktop -> Access Privileges to allow connection and the appropriate functions?

I recently upgraded to OX Lion and have an ipod, ipad, iphone and other apple mac computer on the network besides my macbook pro.
Since the upgrade I am having issues with my ip address. I have edited this number under renew lease, taken it to a manual edit and on any of these occassions found an address which allows the computer to go on wi fi.
However everytime I use my computer it starts off without wi fi and I have to manually go back to ip address and either adjust to manual or renew lease.

There is a hardware problem. Whether it's worth it to you to have no working phone for 2 months until you can update vs paying for replacement/repair now is a question only you can answer.

HyperTerminal sees a COM port but VISA does not
It should not be possible that HyperTerminal sees a COM port but VISA does not. Does anyone know why or have any ideas?
Here's some more info: I wrote a LabView (LV) program and deployed it (via the Application Builder) to some of our production department's PCs (some Windows XP and some Windows 7). We use it to set up products we design and manufacture through our device's USB serial port. The USB port is actually a virtual COM port (VCP) - a USB to Serial converter or "bridge". We have a custom driver for our device and since each device's USB bridge chip is programmed with a different serial number, every time we connect a new device to the PC the installer runs and assigns a new COM port number. This is so our customers can use multiple devices on a PC. Fine. On one of our production PC's we were close to COM900 ports (HyperTerminal sees only up to COM256) when suddenly Win7 would not allow any more. We were able to uninstall orphaned (non-present) COM ports from DeviceManager ("DM") by starting it from a command console (DOS window) with a special command-line switch, "set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1" then "start devmgmt.msc" (I have this in a batch file). In DM View menu you can "Show hidden devices" and uninstall them as if they were connected. I've also tried uninstalling them the normal way when the device was actually connected. Either way, sometimes, not always, depending on the COM port number, after reusing that port number by installing a new device which picks up that old, freed-up number, LV VISA doesn't see it. In other words, when "Refresh" is clicked in the COM port VISA list box, any new devices installed should be and normally are seen. (Refresh is not needed if the application is started after the device's driver is installed. It is only need if the LV application is open with the new device is added.) However, HyperTerminal does see it and lists it in the Properties screen, the "Connect using..." list box. And the port works with HyperTerminal. (Of course we've tried rebooting after uninstalling and/or reinstalling the device, with the same results.)
When I've spoken to the NI Applications Engineers in the past about serial port issues (not about this problem) they have confirmed that if HyperTerminal can see the port then NI VISA should also see it. This is crazy. I am posting this in hope that someone can shed some light on this problem.
Thank you. -EdGood catch. Yes, we're using the Silicon Labs CP2102 and have created a "custom driver" installation package. Our new PCBs have a factory-programmed chip, so the PC reuses that COM port (COM3 on that PC). The problem is when we we re-program the CP2102 (setIDs exe) with our PID, and device strings (including the S/N), the PC runs our installer and assigns the next COM port number. I was hoping that maybe it would go up to 64K or something! Anyway, it surpassed COM256 but we ran into this problem when almost up to COM900.)
There is a registry entry for each SN device, which shows the assigned port. If we delete the key with regedit, the COM port database (don't know the file name) still has the port number. That's where Device Manager comes in. It seems to allow us to manually delete the ports, but it would take quite a while to delete 900. (I was trying to make a batch file for DevCon, but couldn't get it to see the HW ID of the devices in need of deletion.) So we tried manually deleting a few. After doing that Device Manager shows that Windows (and HyperTerminal) can reuse the port number when a new device (new SN) is installed, but, as you know from this post, VISA cannot see unless I manually add it in MAX.
I can't see how it has anything to do with the Silicon Labs driver. I might have to delete ALL of MY devices, then uninstall the driver files, reboot, then reinstall, as you suggested with the SiLabs driver. However, I don't see how VISA will now see these changes. VISA must have it's own database. That's what I thought deleting the ports in MAX would clear out, like a fresh install, but apparently not.
I've been through Silicon Labs' tech support on other issues and they've been able to help on some. I could run this by them.
BTW, have you noticed that Silicon Labs' chip and driver, while faster than NI's own "bridge" or serial-USB converter (I returned it because at $100 it's performance was worse than a $20 converter you can buy in Staples), is substantially slower than a real serial port? For example, our device can transmit 250 readings per second (a 12 byte string). A real serial port used with my LabView program can keep up, i.e.., graph & tabulate at that rate, but with a VCP we only get about 70 RPS. Same code. Can't figure this one out. They say the've tested the driver to 900 KB claimed. We're using 115KB here. Anyway, the VCP driver makes it look like a COM port which LV thinks it is. Why is it slower than a real port when the USB should be able to work almost 10 times faster than I'm using it (up to 1024 bytes per mSec per the full-speed USB spec, which SiLabs claims they verified)?

Open Termimal (Applications/Utilities/Terminal)Try entering this command: killall Dock, and then hit enter
Try dragging the Mail icon out of the dock, then let it disappear in a puff of smoke. Then from Applications/Mail try dragging the Mail icon back into the dock, and see if it works.
Does Mail open otherwise? Like if you try opening it from your Applications folder?if it doesn't:
Boot into your recovery partition (restart, hold down ⌘R until you see the Apple logo), and use Disk Utility to repair your hard drive. Repair permissions too while you're there. OS X: About OS X Recovery
if that doesn't work: reinstall Mavericks over your current installation.

I have changed my icloud email in my iphone but in macbook still using old email. I tried to delete the old email in macbook but it requires password and it does not accept the old password for the old email anymore. How do I remove this old email?

If your Apple ID was changed from your old account, you may have to change it back to your old account to be able to sign out and then change it back after that is done. Take a look at the article below for more information.

I have a new windows 7 pc and i want to move my iTunes mediathek (Music, movies) to it. by using an external driver (Hd.). But On the new pc iTunes does Not integrales the Media files.
Copy the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder from old computer to /Music/ on new computer.
Launch iTunes.

i'm trying to install iOS 5.0 but getting message that my computer does not have enough space to backup my iPad and continuing will result in loss of all media on iPad. an option seemed to be backing up on iCloud, but i think you have to have iOS 5.0 to install iCloud.
how do i install iOS 5.0 without losing anything on my iPad?If you really do not have enough space on your HDD for a backup of your iPad, you do not have enough space at all. Free up at least 15% of your HDD, in any case more than 0.8GB for the iPad update.
Make backups on an external disk.
After freeing up enough space, try again. -
