I have just upgraded my 2 apple computers to OX Lion and my macbook pro is having ip address issues. I have manually changed the ip address, renewed lease which works but everytime I switch on it does not connect to wi fi until I edit the ip address.

I recently upgraded to OX Lion and have an ipod, ipad, iphone and other apple mac computer on the network besides my macbook pro.
Since the upgrade I am having issues with my ip address. I have edited this number under renew lease, taken it to a manual edit and on any of these occassions found an address which allows the computer to go on wi fi.
However everytime I use my computer it starts off without wi fi and I have to manually go back to ip address and either adjust to manual or renew lease.
Any ideas?

After going through the issues with apple support, they decided the best course of action was to erase the hard drive and do a reinstall. Since I have a recent backup this seemed like a good enough option. They were kind enough to send me a copy of the snow leopard disk to do the install since we couldn't get it to complete through the disk utility. Not sure why, since it says we are fully connected, it just never completed.
Anyway, so now that you have the background here is the new issue. The macbook pro keeps spitting out the disk I'm trying to install from. Disk utility and using the 'Startup Disk' function from the apple menu doesn't read the disk.
Can anyone suggest a solution to this vexing problem?

Have you checked whether you have folder for PSE Organizer? It is normally at this location in Windows 7 and Windows 8/8.1:
<C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 12 Organizer>
If the folder is there then try double-clicking on the file called: PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe
If the folder isn't there at all then you need to re-install the package again using your original disks or from download from Adobe website. <Download Photoshop Elements products | 13, 12, 11, 10>

The best way to do what you're asking is with the Composition widget. Start with the Tooltip preset, which, by default shows the info on rollover. You can change the option to show on click, which is what you're after. You can also add the close button or have the info disappear on rollout.

I want to migrate from using 2 computers (a mac mini and a macbook pro) to only the macbook

I currently use both a MacMini at home and a MacBook Pro while I'm on the road.
My email is sync'd via Google Mail, but I have photo's and documents (for my projects) that are not sync'd between the two computers.
I use Time Machine with difference external drives to backup each computer.
I would like to migrate to using only the MacBook but I need to make sure that both machines are sync'd and my photo's and documents are the same on both.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
The Mac Mini is running OSX 10.7.5 and the Mac Book is runing OSX 10.8.3

You could try using sync/backup software that could do that automatically. You have several from which to choose that might work best:

One of my 2 iPhone 5S does not connect to WiFi unless I'm in the same room, Apple has replaced the iPhone 3 times same problem

I replaced both of my iPhone 4S/7.x with iPhone 5S/7.x and neither was qable to connect to any WiFi unless I was within 20' of the WiFi router. So I took both to the Apple store and they replaced both iPhone 5S.
Now one works perfectly, however the other does not. I went to the Apple store again, and they replaced the replacement iPhone 5S with another 5S. Same problem.
I went back to the Apple store again and they replaced replacement #2 with another replacement, so this is the 3rd time! They recommended I take the replacement iPhone 5S and not restore,but start as a new iPhone. Before I did anything, I checked to see if the WiFi worked "out of the box"....it did not!! Thus, there wasn't any reason to do a new install, since it did not appear to be my software load.
By the way, all 3 of my MacBook Pro's and iPad work perfectly over WiFi.
Also, all my iPhones and iPad are on v 7.04
It doesn't appear to make sense to go back to the Apple store Genius Bar, as it appears all of their stock have this issue.

I have a puzzling situation implementing an Internet routing pilot project and I need someone with a fresh look at the matter because I cannot make-out what the problem is…
Scenario description:
2901 router with two (one used) DSL intf’s on board and its two GE ports connected to a switch via Port-Channel sub-int’f (router-on-a-stick is implemented).   The router has two other WAN (Internet) connections via a Satelite link and a MetroEthernet link.   These two are terminated on the switch on intf’s at the appropriate VLAN’s.   At attached topology scheme I depict them all collocated on the router for “simplicity” (logical topology) since the router has intf’s at the corresponding networks.   The aDSL and Metro links have an 8-IP public set, each.
Most servers/hosts utilize VLAN 10 (int port-channel 1.10) but they need to forward their internet traffic to corresponding Internet links so PBR is used.    VLAN/subnet (all /24) pairs are:
VLAN 11 -> 10.0.1.x
VLAN 12 -> 10.0.2.x
VLAN 13 -> 10.0.3.x
VLAN 71 -> 192.168.17.x
VLAN 204 -> 172.16.204.x
and – last but not least ! – VLAN 10 -> 10.0.0.x
All servers use static 1-1 NAT while all other hosts/PC’s use the Metro link (PAT).
Situation: All PBR rules and static NAT’s of VLAN 10 behave as expected.   So does the PAT for hosts of all other VLAN’s (11, 12, 13, …).   The rest of the hosts of VLAN 10, i.e. PC’s with IP’s 10.0.0.x (in red), cannot get to the Internet !
What is puzzling is that traffic is matched (by ACL) and NAT does occur but all I see (via “sh ip nat tra”) are the translations of the DNS requests !   Nothing else !   To top that, tracerouting a public IP does lead to the target but when hitting that same public IP (not by name) on the browser can’t load the page !
Could pls someone spot what I’m missing !!
To help you I also attach the router config and some command outputs…

was not there in the first place - I got it there assuming it would help but it didn't.   Actually - as mentioned - it does not get any hits !

Using Web Service to localhost in IIS works, but remote W/S to IIS does not

I have built an Air application that connects to a MS CRM web service (port 5555) and it works fine when I am on the server (the web service recognizes the user credentials in .NET function calls), but when I run the AIR app on a workstation and try to connect, the server responds with a 50x error ( authentication). I have tried adding the username and password to the URL and that did not get me any closer to figuring out the problem. I have tried different authentication methods on IIS without success. The client machines are all located in the same Windows Active Directory Domain / local area network with the server - no routing.
We are not exposing any ports to the Internet.
I am using the Web Service classes that are generated using the Flex Builder Data/Import
I am using Flex Builder 3 with the 3.5a version of the Flex framework.
I have installed Flash player with the latest version
the Windows server is running IIS 7 on Server 2008
How do I get a connection that works? (samples anyone?)
Is this an Air configuration issue, or a limitation of the framework?
Does my Air app need to use Anonymous connections to IIS only?
Is there a way for a web service on IIS to identify the user from their Active Directory connection?

In principle, if a web service can be accessed from localhost, it could also be accessed from remote. So perhaps the traffic was blocked by the firewall. Please check the firewall setting of your machine, especially the Windows firewall. You could turn off the firewall for a while and have a try.
And you can use some web service client tool (like soupUI) to test if the web service is accessible to the remote.

Entry in contact list does not show up when you try to edit the list in v4

When clicking the "To" box for a new message I have as the last entry a name in bold that is not something I recognize and when going into my contact list so as to remove it, it does NOT show up.
How do I get rid of it? IE: find it so as to delete it. Search in windows 7 does not locate the file. Below is header when asking for source.

If you created a new AppleID with the new email address, then that is exactly what will happen. Purchases are permanently tied to the AppleID you used when buying them. Anything tied to an old(er) AppleID is forever tied to it and you need that older AppleID's password to update those apps.
Your only option is to buy those apps again, paying a second time, to get them under your new AppleID.
For future reference, if you just wish to change the primary email you are using for your AppleID, you should log in to the "Mange your AppleID" section at https://appleid.apple.com and just edit the primary email address for your existing AppleID.

I thought that my MacPro is 64bit? Well that is as far as I remember the salesman telling me, back when I did the B.T.O spec.
I am running 64bit apps [in full 64bit mode] as far as I understand. Like the CS suiite.
If I look at "About Photoshop…" it says — Version 12.1 x64
Doesn't that mean that it is running 64bit apps?
Or are you saysing that the "entire operating system" / "bios" or whatever it is called in Mac language, is not actually capable of running as 64bit?
I need to find my box, that came with the MacPro, ans just have a look at the info that is detailed on it. As as far as I can remember there was even a big "64bit" flashy thing, somewhere on the outside of the box.
But in the meantime, if you can perhaps help with the earlier questions.

Where woudl I find the info / persons that I could investigate that "Hack", as I may need to investigate that a little. If anything just to be better informed, for the future. At the end of the day, if I have to scrub the entire Mac to the beginging, and reload everything, so be it, at least it will be a learning curve in the process.
I have all the legal software installers etc, so all that it will cost me is time, if it does "kill" the operating system …

NI MAX works but LabVIEW Instrument I/O VISA does not

I am trying to communicate with SIM900 mainframe using RS232 connection in a VI but it is not working.
It is strange because the communication works when I use NI MAX or MATLAB Instrument Control Toolbox but it doesn't when using LabVIEW VISA functions such as VISA Open, VISA Write, or VISA Read, etc.
I confirmed that I use the correct serial settings (baud rage, data its, parity...), so it is hard to find out what might be the reason of this issue.
Could anyone help me resolve this?

What are you using for a termination character? Are you using one of the example VIs where the string control is set for '\' Codes Display?

RFC works but web service for that RFC does not work..weird??

I created an RFC enabled function module to create a Sales Order in SAP CRM for both for Varinat Configurable and Normal Materials.
The RFC Works well...if i test it..it creates an order and if i go and check the sales order in CRM GUI. i find that sales order is perfect with the configuration data for the configurable items..
Now i created a Web service for this RFC by calling the Web service creation wizard.
Now i am testing the Web service in SOAMANGER T-code and the sales order is created and weird thing the configuration data is missing for Varinat configurable item..
But i dont encounter this problem if i am testing the RFC directly
What could be wrong...why is my web service behaving weird?
I am dying to find this out..did any body enocunter this situation befor ..please help

I put a break point using external debugger and when i was testing the Web service in SOAMANAGER..
i could then land into ABAP debugger.
There in my RFC i put a logic such that i diffenetiate between VC and Non-VC items and fill the Charateristic Values only if it is aVC item.
I saw that the IF condition was not executing as they suddenly changed the material structure in ECC and it reflected in CRM.
SO i am inputting 18 digits of material no like '000000000000000001' for '1'...but the if condition was checking against 1 =1 so that loop never executed and chara values are not getting filled.
But if i test RFC in se37 ..it works as i am inputting 1...
Since Web service works with XML (WSDL) need to be very careful with the format in which data is inputted and the format in which the logic we wrote in RFC works.

The lastest iTunes upgrade broke my wireless syncing between my iPhone and my Macbook Pro

iTunes was actually working before the latest update. Now I cannot wirelessly sync my phone to either my MacBook Pro or my PC.

I understand that you are unable to sync via Wi-Fi after updating iTunes. I would start with going through the troubleshooting steps outlined below.
Quit and reopen iTunes and restart your iOS device
Quit and reopen iTunes on your computer. Then, restart your iOS device.Restart your network router
Restart your home network router using the manufacturer's instructions. You may need to disconnect the power cord for 30 seconds or more.
Note: During this time, Internet services, such as a VoIP-based phone, won't work, and you may need to reset additional network devices.Check your network connection
Make sure that your Wi-Fi network has an active Internet connection.
Make sure that you connect your iOS devices and computer to the same network over Wi-Fi.
Check for network configuration changes that may interfere with syncing:
VPN configurations
Extending the Wi-Fi network through multiple wireless access points or routers
Guest networks or other security configurations that limit access between devices
Routers that configure different networks for different frequencies such as 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz
Connecting the computer over Ethernet
Wake up your computer and open iTunes. If your computer is asleep or iTunes isn't open, the device may not sync.
Update your router. If you're using an AirPort or AirPort Time Capsule, you can learn more about firmware updates. If you're using a router from another manufacturer, contact the manufacturer to ask about available updates.
Check for network interference
If you see performance issues when you sync over Wi-Fi, something may be causing wireless interference:
Microwave ovens
Cordless phones
Physical barriers, such as metal walls or distance between your computer, base station, and iOS device
Try the following to reduce network interference:
Move your iOS device and computer closer to the Wi-Fi router or base station.
Check for sources of potential interference.
Remove your iOS device from any case, stand, or attachment.
Open Safari and try to load a webpage.

Mac computers use port 123 to set the date and time automatically. Incorrect date and time on a computer or iOS device can cause connection issues. If you don't know if your router has a firewall or if the required ports are open, follow these steps:
Enable Wi-Fi syncing for additional iOS devices on your network to see if they have the same issue. (See the previous steps to enable Wi-Fi syncing for additional devices.)
