Black line drawings print as purple at certain areas

Hi,
We have a HP designjet 110 plus in our office as a network printer.  We have been experiencing some problems when we print black line drawings. Several parts of the drawing will print as purple instead of black (meaning a line/area of shade will be partly purple and partly black). The purplish areas are pretty much consistant through a single drawing, butwill be different from drawing to drawing.  I have temporarily set the printer to print with black ink only, but the printing time doubles. Is there anyway to fix this problem? Thanks.

  • Unnecessary black lines being printed in the printed document

I have an year old HP M1136 Laser jet printer ( Serial No. - CND8B9QJ65 ) and use orignal HP cartridges.
And I use Windows 7 ultimate (32-bit) as my operating system.
I guess, The problem isn't regarding the software. It might have something to do with hardware.
The issue is whenever I give the print command to printer, it prints the document as it is but also adds a bunch of blurred black lines on the left side of the printed A4 sheet. This thing ruins the whole look of the document.
Nothing like this happens when Scan command is given. Its only when the printer receives a Print or Photocopy command.
This problem started appearing in the month of  February. At the start I adjusted but now the problem has got bigger. Please help.
An earliest response in this reagrd would be highly grateful.

  • Black & White photos printing as purple

My wife was copying some historical black & white family photos.  Six or so printed fine, then one photo changed from black & white to a purpleish tone at the 90% complete phase, only the bottom edge had changed colors.  We loaded another black cartridge believing this was the cause, but to no avail.  Now all Black & White photos are printing in purple.
    Standard printing is fine.
    Copying is fine.
    Scanning is fine.
But photo printing of black & white pictures results in the copies being 100% purple toned.
    Why?
HP 6510 printer, only two onths old.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

The printer uses color ink to print black when printing on photo paper because the pigmented black ink is not compatible with photo paper.  It appears you have run out of yellow ink.  I would suggest the troubleshooting steps in the document here to resolve the issue.  Be sure to check the vents on the yellow supply as shown in solution two.

  • HP7960 black and white prints half purple

We use the HP7960 mostly to print copies of black and white photographs.  The copies start out fine, but change to purple about midway through the page.  I have set the color to Grayscale but it doesn't seem to make any difference.  It is very important that we get good copies of these historic photographs.  How can I correct this?

Likely your color cartridge is running low on yellow ink. When printing graphics the color cartridge is used because it provides better print quality than using the black cartridge.  If you are printing on photo paper the photo and color cartridges will be used, the black ink is not compatible with photo paper.
Replacing the color cartridge with a fresh #57 one should resolve your issue.
If you are printing on photo paper replacing the #58 photo cartridge with a #59 photo gray cartridge may give you better results.

  • Black lines when printing photo.

I have Adobe Photoshop Ellements 7.
All applications print correctly accept this program. I get vertical bl
ack lines when i print a photo. What"s up.

I read somewhere that this problem can occur with some printers if the picture's resolution has a fractions in it, for example 300.456. This can happen, for example,  if you resize the picture with the resampling box unchecked. Try resizing again to just the whole number.

  • Printing to Canon S9000 Issue - Black Lines - Mac

    All,
Having some issues (assume Driver) with printing from LR 2.3 and CS3 going to Canon S9000. Printing from Preview is fine. However iPhoto shows the same thing. I am getting evenly spaced (about 5mm apart) thin black lines when printing. It is consistent across different papers, including Canon Photo Paper Pro. I called Canon yesterday, and the fact that Preview works fine would seem to indicate something with the driver and Adobe and iPhoto. I'm not talking a microbanding. These are very distinct black lines. I've tried letting the printer manage the color, I've also tried using profile with the printer. I am using the most current BJ driver from the Canon site for the Mac (Leopard) and the printer.
Images from QImage on my Windows machine are also fine to the printer with I have it hooked up there.. Could use some help in debugging (hopefully without using up all the ink) :-)
Also getting occasional random "LR unexpected termination" message after printing.. One time happens, another doesn't.. No rhyme or reason I can see.
Update: Unexpected Termination seems to happen more often when stacking up a few prints in the print queue.
    Jay S.

    Even worse...
we have three machines updated today and the exact same problem on each of them:
    Indesign CS3, Acrobat 8
    Printing to Distillers Virtual Printer.
Previously Pages were PDF-ed in the format they had.
Now they are NOT - they all are on A4. The PDF-Options of Apple mess up the PDF-Options of Indesign. Apples PDF-Options do no longer ignore the pagesize, but overwrite the Indesign-Options.
This is a MAJOR bug for us, as any output into high-res-PDF for printing doesn't work via export, but via Printing to Distiller. This is a big big sucky thing, which Adobe or Apple will hopefully fix soon.

    HI,

Can you try to print in a different printer, if the error persists then the problem is in the smartform, otherwise raise a note to SAP regarding this. I think that there is problem is with the page format in which u are taking the printout.
    OR
Can you check if you have selected the framed border in the table border select pattern.
    Hope That Helps

  • Cropping with media encoder withour black lines

I found a number of similar posts, but none solve the same problem I have:
When I save a video in Premiere CS3 with the media encoder, I get black lines on the sides of the video. I noticed that I use crop (in the encoder) of 4:3 but it actually gives me a window that isn't of that exact size (for instance 200X151 pixels). I save the video (in MPEG-2) in size 360X270, so the extra pixels might be the cause of the black lines.
When I crop to some rectangle and save the video in the exact same pixel sizes (not just ratio), I don't get the lines.
Anyone have any ideas on how to get rid of the black lines?
    Thanks!
    Aya

The project settings are desktop editing, 30 fps, size 360X270, square pixels, lower field first (I don't know which settings are important for this)
The video I load is with codec VP6F (FFMPEG) - I have flv and using virtualDub I converted them to avi, trying to keep the original quality (which isn't too good to begin with), so I could work with premiere.
Then, in premiere, the only way I found to crop the video (without it being resized) to the size I wanted was to use the media encoder, and only MPEG-2 codec (for some reason all other codecs that I tried resulted in a movie with problems, like jumping or blurring)
I've been working for days trying to get an flv into premiere, then cropped and edited in premiere (I cut short clips from the original movie) and back to an avi with some standard codec.
The main problem is currently the black bars (but any general suggestions would also be helpful :). The only way I managed to somehow get rid of them is to save the movie in the exact size of the cropping (which isn't really good, because I need to resize). But then when I open the video in VirtualDubMod it has black bars again...
    Help!
    Thanks,
    Aya

  • Undefined black line vertically on printed page

A narrow undefined line appears about two inches from the left edge of a page (and not totally consistent in how dark it is.  Very faint if no print on the page.   The more text the more noticable it appears.
Additionally -- if there is heavy toner in that area it appears to remove the toner leaving a white but dirty narrow line.   But if it's just regular printed text it does *not* score thru a letter, it just appears as this dirty line in the background.
It's not the cartridge.     Can't see anything inside the printer that looks likely.

Hello sam_k, welcome to the forums
I understand you are noticing a black line. Please let me know some more information and I will certainly look into this for you!
    1. Which Operating System you are running:
Which Windows Operating System am I running?
Mac OS X: How Do I Find Which Mac OS X Version Is on My Computer?
    2. What is your printers Model Number:
How Do I Find My Model Number?
    3. Do you noticed the black line when you print, scan, copy, or fax?
    4. How is your printer connected to your PC? Ethernet, wireless or USB?
In the meantime, try Resetting the Printer and plug the printer in directly to the wall outlet, avoiding power bars and surge protectors. This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.

  • Black line sketch renderings printing with teal or magenta

    Aloha,
When I print architectural drawings with my DesignJet 110 I sometime place computer generated sketch renderings in with the architectural plans which are vector line drawings.  The architectural line drawings and the sketch renders are computer generated made with ArchiCAD.  The HP 110 DesignJet prints the rendering and only the rendering with teal or magenta or a fade of both even though the rendering is black lines. The architectural line drawings on the same page print beautifully in black.  There is nothing on the page that is using any color lines.
When I set the printer to "Only Use Black Ink" the renders come out in black but the quality of the rendering's lines is poorer than when it prints using the teal/magenta.
I would like to get the printer to print high quality renderings with just black ink.
    What is causing the problem?
How can I fix the problem?
    Mahalo,
    John

  • HP Laserjet Pro MFP M12fn, printing a solid black line on every paper

I'm running windows 7 professional. I haven't received any error messages and nothing out of the oridarny has happened. My printer/scanner/fax/copy (My HP Laserjet Pro MFP M12fn, product # CZ181A) is printing with a black line down the entire paper, but its only doing it thru the feeder and not on the glass. HELP, How can I fix this?

Welcome to the HP Forums angelinaOO7,
I read your post, which indicates that you are getting a black line down the page when using the feeder. You can print fine from the glass. I can help you with this.
I would do a hard reset to see if that will resolve the issue.
Leave the printer on and unplug the power cable from the printer and wall outlet for 60 seconds.
Then reconnect the power cable to the printer and wall outlet rather than a surge protector.
This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.
Clean the scanning glass and platen.
    Turn the printer off.
Disconnect the power cord from the product and the wall outlet.
    Open the scanner lid.
Clean the following scanner areas with a soft cloth or sponge that has been moistened with nonabrasive glass cleaner.
    Main scanner glass.
Small scanner glass to the left of the main scanner glass.
    White plastic backing.
Dry the glass and white plastic backing with a chamois or a cellulose sponge to prevent spotting.
Plug the power cord into the product and the wall outlet.
    Turn the printer on.
    Try to make another copy.
If you are still having issues, then update the printer's firmware.

Select your operating system, click next, click the link for firmware.

  • HP 3800 Color LJ Prints 2 black lines. Pic Included

    Hi,
I have a HP Color LaserJet 3800. Since last summer it has been printing 2 black horizontal lines across every page. They are always in the same spot, so I'm thinking it is just something that needs to get cleaned and have ruled out the cartridges. (They have all been replaced multiple times since the issue first started). This happends with and without using the duplexer.
I took out the fuser? I think that's what it's called from under the front cover (It was really hot) and cleaned it with a moist papertowl, but that did not make any difference.
Any suggestions on what to clean or where the parts are located? I'm a noob when it comes to working on printers, so a step by step/diagram/pictures will be the best way to explain,
Here is a picture of what the pages look like, I have circled the black lines:

Scratch that, I looked at the manual and found how to open a part to fix a paper jam. There were two rollers in there that fit perfectly with the lines. I cleaned them up and now no more black lines.
Fyi, to get at the rollers I had to open the front of the printer, then on the bottom of the inside are 2 green tabs. I pressed them and lifted up the plastic piece to reveal these rollers.

    Xerox 7346 Print Drivers
The very first one is the Mac version you want. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS about closing print set up window.
If you're on a PC, just scroll down to your OS (it's the box to the top left that starts with MAC OS and then lists all the PC drivers) and only the relevant drivers will appear. Most recent topmost down to oldest.
    You're a star...
If only my wife agreed with that assessment.

  • How to remove horizontal lines from black and white prints in LR 5?

hello, i have LR 5 on my iMac running Mavericks OS...i am very happy with it except for when i print from the print module when the pictures are black and white...color seems to be fine...but, the problem is that there are vertical lines space evenly apart running down the pictures...generally if it is with sky as a background...but the lines do run through the main subject as well...any suggestions...thanks in advance...

thanks for your reply...my printer is an HP 7520 Photosmart...i have done all of the diagnostics on the printer and everything seems to be fine...it doesn't do the line thing when the pictures are in color...or, if in b/w, in a closeup...
