Nikon D3200 Support?

Hello,
I'm curious when Aperture 3 might support the Nikon D3200? I have a bunch of RAW images I'd love to work with ...
Mike

Standard answer, we're all just users here like yourself so no one here has any real idea.  And if Apple did respond they wouldn;t say because they never give out information like that before hand.
You can use Aperture->Provide Aperture Feedback to let them know you want this.
In the mean time the best you can do is convert the RAW's into DNG's and work with those. If you don't or can't do that then you could shoot RAW+JPG for now, import both with JPG as master and if and when the camera is supported, switch the master over to the RAW image.

Does Elements 10 support the Nikon D3200 RAW Files?

Not yet. You need to wait for the next update. It's already been added to CS6 and Lightroom 4; so it should follow soon.
If you can't wait and convert from NEF to DNG you can use PSE10 but always keep your originals as back-up and incase you need to use Nikon software.

  • HT4101 ipad ios6 camera kit doesn't support nikon d3200? ios5 did.

So I have  trouble with the Camera Connection Kit. I have a Nikon D3200 24MP. And before the upgrade to ios6 it could read the SD from the camera.  After ios 6, the photo app can display/make the thumbnails but it can't transfer the photos.  All I get is a red exclamation.  Now when I use the same SD with a Sony Cybershot HXV 200 16MP  it can display the thumbnails and transfer the photos.
    So what's up?

To solve the problem for the Nikon D600 I have to completely close the Photo App, which is used to import photos. Double Press the button on the IPad to show recently used apps. Press on the Photo App icon and hold until the the icon gets a red minus mark and starts to "wobble". By clicking the red minus the app icon (and with it some states that hinder the photo import) disappear. After that connecting the camery connection kit and importing my Nikon D600 full resolution picture works again.

  • Problem inporting raw files from my Nikon D3200

i have problems importing raw files from my Nikon D3200, i have tried some of the suggestions such as
removing the RawCamera.bundle and RawCameraSupport.bundle from the System Library and downloading a newer version (OS X Yosemite: Supported digital camera RAW formats - Apple Support)
The problem is  --  the latest RAW Compatibility Update version for Yosemite 6.02 appears to be the one I currently am using (in my System Folder).
In that same article referenced above, my Nikon D800 is listed in an earlier version simply titled "Supported by Yosemite 10.10".
This had some success but is not working after trying it several times, i am currently on version  OSX Yosemite 10.10.1 and the version of iphoto is 9.6
any help would be greatly received as i only shoot in Raw

Remove the RawCamera.bundle and RawCameraSupport.bundle again and update the system to 10.10.2 via the App Store.  That contains the bundles that will support that camera: OS X Yosemite: Supported digital camera RAW formats - Apple Support.  The 6.01 and 6.02 updates are not needed for that camera. Be sure to repair disk permissions after the update.
As usual be sure you have a backup of your hard drive before applying any such update.

  • Can't open Raw images from Nikon D3200

I can not open RAW files taken on Nikon 3200
HW & SW: Nikon 3200: Apple MacBook Pro OS v. 10.8.5, Adobe Photoshop Elements 11, Adobe Lightroom 5, Adobe DNG Converter
I had a Nikon D60 and used a removable card to store images. No problem.
One week ago, I bought a Nikon D3200 and still use the same memory cards I had used with the D60.
I have taken about 100 pictures in Aperture, Shutter and Automatic mode, all in RAW format.
Am using Nikon Transfer to import the images from the card to the MacBook.
Photoshop will open JPEG images captured from the D3200 in the JPEG format, but not those captured in RAW format.
I can preview the images on the D3200, but when I download to the Mac, the images do not open in Photoshop Elements 11, or in Adobe DNG 8.2, or in Adobe Lightroom 5.
Photoshop failure  message is: “Could not complete your request because the file appears to be from a camera model which is not supported by the installed version of Camera Raw. Please visit the Camera Raw help documentation for additional information.”
DNG Converter failure message is: “The source folder does not contain any supported camera raw files.”
Adobe Lightroom failure message is: “The files are not recognized by the raw format support in Lightroom.”
I have downloaded most recent versions of Adobe Camera Raw and Adobe DNG. I have also uninstalled and then reinstalled Adobe Photoshop Elements 11.  When I try to open or import the images, the same failure messages occur.
So far Adobe products are failing and am hoping there is a solution.

For pse 8/LR 3 you would need the 8.3 Dng Converter to convert yout Nikon D3200
files to dng copies that can be open/inported by pse 8 or LR3
Since the camera raw version required is 7.1/LR4.1 or later and pse 8 (only up to camera raw 6.2) can't use that camera raw version, the dng converter is needed.

  • Why can't I open RAW files taken with my Nikon D3200 in Elements 10?

Is there a fix in the works that will allow me to open RAW files taken with my Nikon D3200?

Actually the 7.1 camera raw update covers the D3200, but for whatever reason adobe has denied users of pse 10 that update.
Maybe it will still be released, but to me something else seems to be up, because in the past the latest version of elements (at least on windows) was always updated
to the latest version of camera raw at the same time photoshop was.
In the meantime you could download the 7.1 DNG converter to convert your files to dng copies which will then open in pse 10.

I know this stinks, but other than using the camera makers or aftermarket raw programs (lightroom), that's the best i can suggest for now.

  • Why my Nikon D3200 is not recognized after updating to Yosemite?

    Hello.
I'm using MacOSX Yosemite (10.10) and when I plug my Nikon D3200 nothing happens. It worked fine with MacOSX Mavericks (10.9).
I read a possible solution that involved deleting raw files on the system library but it did nothing.
Any suggestions about how to solve this issue? I really need my camera working with my Mac and that's not happening.
    Thank you.

  • My Photoshop CS3 Nikon D3200 raw files

Hi! My Photoshop CS3 is not opening my Nikon D3200 raw files. What I have to do?

You will never be able to open those files directly in CS3.  There will be no more updates for that old version.
That camera was first supported in ACR 7.1, which needs at least Photoshop CS6 to run.
Look for, download, install and run the free, standalone Adobe DNG Converter 8.5 on the folder(s) containing your raw NEF files to convert them to raw DNGs which you can run on your current version of Photoshop.

  • Lighthouse 3.6 and Nikon D3200 raw images

I have Lighthouse 3.6.  What do I need to do in order to read/edit Nikon D3200 camera's raw image?

My mistake.  Sorry!  Support for your camera was not added until the 7.1 release.  It is still a release candidate, and you need to download it from the Adobe Labs web site.  The DNG converter is packaged with ACR in the release candidate package, and you will not be able to use ACR 7.1 with your older version of Photoshop.  But the DNG converter will work.

  • I'm thinking of buying a new camera. Does anyone know if can I process RAW images from a Nikon D5100 or Nikon D3200 using IPhoto on a OSX 10.5.8?

I'm thinking of buying a new camera. Does anyone know if can I process RAW images from a Nikon D5100 or Nikon D3200 using IPhoto on a OSX 10.5.8?

I think you'll note that Google found the list for 10.8, amazing, isn't it
No, neither are supported for Raw on 10.5.8
    You'll need 10.6.8 minimum for the D5100
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3825
and for the D3200 you'll need 10.7.4 plus compatibility update 3.1.3

Bear in  mind that you may also need to update your version of iPhoto too.

  • NEF to JPEG on Nikon d3200

I have photoshop elements 9 operating on a mac. i bought a Nikon d3200 to shoot my sculpture with. PS won't let me download the raw (.NEF) format. Is there a download that will fix this or do I need a new version or what??? (From now on I will shoot in fine jpeg) I need these photos

    Hi,
The D3200 requires Camera Raw 7.1 which not compatible with Photoshop Elements 9.
If you don't want to upgrade to Photoshop Elements 11 or later then you could use the free Adobe DNG converter
The DNG converter is a standalone program which will take a folder containing your NEF files and converts them to DNG raw files. The DNG files can then be read by Photoshop Elements 9.

  • Nikon D3200 best workflow

Just as above if anyone has any recommended settings for importing and working with the video footage from Nikon D3200 cameras. They store as .mov files [mp4] shooting in 1080p 25fps.

Can Premiere Pro edit H.264 MOV files from the Nikon DSLR cameras? The Nikon MOV highly compressed files are still not well supported by Premiere Pro including the latest CS6, CC7, as you may encounter many audio and video problems. And I know that Premiere Pro can’t handle raw MOV videos encode in H.264, so there is no doubt that it will take more time on rendering while ingesting the files.
The best way is to convert Nikon D3200 footage to Premiere Pro compatible format, like MPEG-2, MOV (AVC), which is the best format for Premiere Pro editing on Mac.

  • Ejecting my Nikon D3200

I have a Nikon D3200 and am using Aperture 3.4.5   I have never been able to find a way to eject my camera properly.  I end up shutting off the camera then disconnecting.  I havn't lost photos this way, but I would rather not take the chance.  The only D3200 icon I can see is in the import window but I can't drag it to trash or right click it.  Thanks

Turning the camera off is not only harmless, it is the correct (i.e., documented) method (see page 113 in the camera user's manual). The camera is not a disk volume; you don't "eject" it.
Rather than attaching the camera, you will probably get faster performance using a card reader rather than attaching the camera. Most current Macs have an SD slot built-in. The memory card is a volume, and you would eject it like any other mass-storage device.
There is a useful reason for attaching the camera, however: Nikon Transfer can [probably] synchronize the camera clock with the computer clock, which is easier and more accurate than setting the clock manually. You might also be able to do this in Image Capture, but for my D300, support for this feature has gone back and forth with each version of Image Capture.

How do I update so I can use the new camera in Raw and have it supported by my version of hotoshop?
Unfortunately, CS5 cannot open D3200 Raw files. It is not compatible with the required Camera Raw 7.1 plugin.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html
The Nikon D3200 requires the Adobe Camera Raw 7.1 plugin.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/camera-raw-compatible-applications.html
CS5 shipped with Camera Raw 6.0 and is only compatible with Camera Raw up to version 6.7. It is not compatible with Camera Raw 7 and later.
If you want to open Raw files from the D3200 in Photoshop, you must upgrade to CS6 or CC.
Alternatively, you can download the free Adobe DNG converter, convert all the D3200 Raw files to DNG then open and edit the DNGs in CS5.
