NiRFSG Initialize.vi Error: AWG Resource Name is invalid

Hi,
I using a PXIe-5442 Arbitary Waveform Generator and a PXI-5610 RF Upconverter. The PXI-5610 RF Upconverter is PXI1Slot5 inside the MAX and the PXIe-5442 AWG is PXI1Slot7.
When I start http://ftp.ni.com/pub/devzone/epd/rfsg-generate-fm.vi  from http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/5620 I get error messages.
For Resource Name = PXI1Slot5
code -1074117675
niRFSG Initialize.vi<ERR> A session cannot be created because the AWG Resource Name in invalid. Specifty the AWG Resource Name in MAX by right-clicking on the upconverter and selecting Properties. If you are specifying the AWG via the Option String, ensure the AWG Resource Name is valid.
For Resource Name = PXI1Slot7
code -1074117636
niRFSG Initialize.vi<ERR> The device specified is not supported by this driver.
 which is correct, because PXI1Slot7 is the AWG and the VI is just using niRFSG VIs.
When I am using a selector instead of the Option String, I only can select the PXI-5610 RF Upconverter is PXI1Slot5, but I am still getting the same error message.
Solved!

Hi,
I am trying to get the Packet-based Digital Link Example (https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-18801) running on a RF Upconverter PXI-5610 and a AWG PXIe-5442 using the NI-RFSG and NI-FGEN drivers. The Upconverter and AWG should run as the transmitter while a USRP run as the receiver.
After linking both cards in MAX and replacing the niUSRP functions with the niRFSG functions inisde the USRP Packet Transmitter.vi I received the following error message:
code -1074118136
niRFSG Write Arb Waveform (Complex DBL).vi<ERR> The AWG reported the following error:
You cannot write data outside the boundaries of your waveform. Make sure you are not trying to write more data than your waveform can accomoate and that your write location and write offset are set correctly.
Status Code: -200311
I was able to solve this error by inserting the niRFSG Clear All Arb Waveforms.vi inside the transmitting loop. Now no error message appears anymore, but I can't receive any packets with the USRP Packet Receiver.vi. I also noticed the status LED "ACTIVE" at the front of the card is not on when the VI is running. When I am using the Soft Front Panel the LED turns on.
Thanks in advance!

  • "Sender Name is Invalid" (can't send email from POP account) iPhone 2.1

    I updated from V2.0.2 to V2.1 today. I also swapped out my original iPhone EDGE for a new iPhone EDGE due to unrelated problems with the speaker.
    Upon testing things after restoring from backup to the new phone I discovered that I could no longer SEND email from my POP account. I could receive email just fine on that account. Sending and receiving email on my MobilMe account also worked, as did sending and receiving email via the POP account while on the Mac computer I use to sync with this iPhone.
    After digging into this with AppleCare we discovered that somehow the Port Address for the Outgoing Mail Server for that POP account had been changed from 25 to 587 on the iPhone.
    Changing it back to 25 fixed my problem.
    We don't know whether the problem was due to the 2.1 upgrade or due to something in the restore process after swapping the phones.
    If you get the error message "Sender Name is Invalid" while trying to send email from a POP account on your iPhone, go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and select the line for your POP account.
    Now scroll down to the Outgoing Mail Server entry which should show "SMTP" and the name of the outgoing mail server for that POP account. Select that line. This will display a list of servers with your POP account server showing at the top as the Primary Server. Select that line.
    In the panel that displays, check the Server Port. If it is something odd like 587, that may be your problem. Select the line and you can edit it to something more normal like 25. Touch the "SMTP" button at the top left of the number entry screen to accept that new value.
    We discovered that after correcting that value on the iPhone it STAYS corrected even after doing a new Sync with iTunes, or after MobileMe syncs.
    --Bob

    Sorry you had problems Bob.
    Depending on the mail service you are using, Port 25 or Port 587 are usually acceptable for outgoing
    SMTP mail. Many cafes will block the customary port 25 to prevent spammers from using their
    wireless access.
    There is a superb tutorial posted here:
    http://www.webmail.us/docs/support/Macintosh-OSX-Mail.pdf
    Also be sure for each mail account to turn ON the secondary AT&T server shown at the bottom
    of the SMTP server list for each account -- it will make your transition from wireless to Edge
    to 3G networks much more reliable.
    Thanks for sharing what you've learned. Hope this helps.

  • Old visa open, error code 1073807343, using VISA with a GPIB device, and VISA resource names

    Hi everyone,
    I'm trying to get a SRS model SR720 LCR meter (manual on this page) working with LabView, connecting it to my PC with an Agilent 82357A GPIB/USB interface (manual on this page). I'm running MAX version 14.0, and NI-VISA version 14.0. I'm running LabView version 13.0f2, 32 bit.
    I followed the directions on this page, and I'm pretty confident I can communicate with my LCR meter, because I can go to NI MAX->GPIB0::17::INSTR under "devices and interfaces", then go to the VISA test panel, go to the I/O tab, and I can enter a few commands from the SR720 manual, like changing the frequency, and I see the light on the LCR meter change to what I just told it to do. Here is a picture, just to illustrate it:
    Also, if I do the *IDN? command, it returns "
    9: Write Operation (*IDN?)
    Return Count: 5 bytes
    10: Read Operation
    Return Count: 41 bytes
    StanfordResearchSystems,SR720,08087,1.03\n
     So, that's good too. I also made the alias of this device "MyLCRmeter", but that shouldn't matter for now.
    Now I'm trying to get it to work in a more usable way. The SR7xx drivers that LabView found for me came with a couple sample programs, one called "Getting Started.vi". I tried to just simply see if it worked, changing the "instrument descriptor" field to "GPIB0::17::INSTR", since that's the one that seemed to be the right device in MAX. Here is a picture of the front panel of "Getting Started.vi":
    Trying to run it like this gave me this error (code -1073807343):
    Old VISA Open in SR715/720 Initialize.vi->SR715/720 Getting Started.vi
    Doing a bit of searching on these forums, I found these few threads (1 2 3), which seem to tell me that, since this program was written, the way you open VISA has changed. In the 2nd of those links, one guy said:
    You just have to replace the Old VISA Open function with the VISA Open that is on the Instrument I/O>VISA>VISA Advanced palette. When you do that, the wire to the string that was used for the resource name will be broken. Delete the string and make the actual VISA Resource Name visible on the front panel. Wire the VISA Resource Name control to the connector pane where the string control was (upper left connection).
    So, I went into the sub-VI Initialize.vi, and did that. Here is a picture of what the front panel and block diagram of the sub-VI Initialize2.vi (I changed the name in case I screwed things up, but I'm pretty sure the new one is the one being called by Getting Started.vi) looked like before I changed anything (you can see the Old VISA Open):
    and here it is after replacing that with the regular VISA Open, deleting the instrument descriptor string and replacing it with a VISA resource, and connecting that to the VISA Open:
    However, as you can see in the image above, and it seems like someone else had this problem in the 2nd thread linked above, I don't see my device listed in the drop-down menu (even if I refresh), only "LPT1" (I don't even know what that is):
    No, I wasnt able to select the visa resource from the pull down menu. somehow it seems disabled or something.
     If I just enter the VISA resource name from MAX manually, GPIB0::17::INSTR, and save and try running that, I get the error(code -1073807346):
    VISA Open in SR715/720 Initialize2.vi->SR715/720 Getting Started.vi
    So I'm not sure where to go from there, or why it's not in the drop down menu to begin with. I'm sorry if I've missed something but I've searched about as far as I can go. If I had to guess, maybe one thing could be that in MAX, under Tools->NI-VISA->VISA Options->My System->Conflict manager, I have both Agilent VISA and NI VISA enabled; I know sometimes problems arise from conflicts between different software fighting over the same hardware. Is this okay, or do I need to change it?
    Thank you and please let me know if there is any other code/screenshots I could provide that could help!

    Hi, I did indeed enable NiVisaTulip.dll under MAX->Tools->NI-VISA->VISA Options->My system->Passports->List of passports. Sorry, I should have mentioned that explicitly.
    By install as primary, do you just mean as it is here, where it is selected as the "Preferred VISA"?
    Or somewhere else? I installed NI-VISA first I believe, and then the Agilent one, and during the installation of the Agilent one, I'm pretty sure I made it not the primary. Here's what I have in the Agilent (it's called Keysight now) Connection Expert software:
    I also have this under the "Keysight 488 options" tab:
    Should that be checked? I don't actually know the role of VISA vs 488 here...
    What could I try?
    Thank you!

  • Visa Resource Name in cluster passed to Network Stream writer causes error 42.

    If I try and pass this "motor data" cluster with an embedded VISA resource name:
    to a Network Stream Writer in this manner:
    Then I get this error from the "Write Single Element to Stream" VI
    If I change the motor data cluster TypDef so that a string control is used instead of the VISA reference, the error disappears and the data passes over the Network Stream without problem.
    Is this expected behavior?
    I thought that the "data in" (type = "POLY"?) like the one found on the "Write Single Element to Stream" VI was supposed to accept pretty much anything...
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Doug
    I would consider this a bug, as the memory location (more precisely the VISA refnum or session) of a VISA resource means nothing on a potentially remote system. Also I was under the impression that most streaming methods like binary file IO, but also the network streams would use the LabVIEW flattened format for data clusters and for that the VISA resource name would be the only logical choice instead of the underlaying VISA refnum, but I might be wrong in this specific case and the default behaviour for flattening VISA resources might always have been to the VISA refnum.
    Considering that the VISA control can resurect the VISA session from a VISA resource name if it is already opened, flattening to the VISA resource name instead would be more logical, but using a string control in the cluster type definition is a reasonable work around of course.

  • SCVMM 2012 R2 RU3 - Live storage migration failing with error 12711 if cluster resource name is not in form of "SCVMM vmname "

    At the end of live storage migration in SCVMM 2012 R2 RU3 getting error:
    Error (12711)
    VMM cannot complete the WMI operation on the server (hypervhost1.domain.local) because of an error: [MSCluster_Resource.Name=&quot;SCVMM test-vm&quot;] The cluster resource could not be found.
    The cluster resource could not be found (0x138F)
    Recommended Action
    Resolve the issue and then try the operation again.
    Storage migration actually succeeds and after Repair/Ignore and Refresh, the VM shows up ok in VMM, with the VHD in new location.
    If VM is offline, storage migration always succeeds. Live (non-storage) migration always succeeds.
    I noticed in the error message that it searches for cluster resource name "SCVMM test-vm" and for some VMs I've got different cluster resource names.
    Like for this VM cluster resource names are:
    Virtual Machine test-vm
    Virtual Machine Configuration test-vm
    Furthermore, those resource names are showing up correctly in [VirtualManagerDB].[dbo].[tbl_WLC_VMInstance] table, columns VMResource and VMConfigResource.
    Anyone knows why SCVMM keeps searching for "SCVMM test-vm" and how to fix this without recreating cluster resources?

    Ok, you have the same problem and same configuration that this post:
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/systemcenter/en-US/853c021f-dd0a-4d88-a7c1-72bb8d4d0591/hyperv-cluster-live-migration-does-not-work-anymore-after-ur5-installation?forum=virtualmachingmgrhyperv#b5ae914f-7b52-4cea-86ef-a64ce4b32bb0
    This problem occurs will old and new vm?

  • "1325 Error: iTunesHelper.Resources is not a valid short file name"

    I recently got a new hard drive, and I tried to drag all of my iTunes information to it, and it did. But when I opened iTunes, it said that it was not installed properly and that if I wanted to get cd track names I would have to install it again. So I deleted it, and now when I try to reinstall iTunes, I get the following error:
    "1325 Error: iTunesHelper.Resources is not a valid short file name" I don't remember if it was iTunesHelper or iTunesMiniplayer, but it was one of the two. I have tried everything I can think of to fix this. I have tried doing a system restore, getting rid of the registry information for the entire apple corp. folder, and searching for anything iTunes and deleting it. HOW DO I FIX THIS!? I need iTunes to put music on my ipod (which also got deleted during this).
    PLEASE HELP!!

    Ok first of all never try just copying a program folder again. You always need to do an fresh install.
    Try uninstalling iTunes, then going into C:\Documents and Settings\<<Your user Name>>\Application Data\and rename the "Apple Computer" folder to "_Apple Computer"
    Then go to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ and rename the "Apple Computer" folder to "_Apple Computer"
    Then go to My Documents > My Music and move the files iTunes Library.itl and iTunes Music Library.xml any where else. Do not delete them.
    Then go to C:\Program Files and delete the iTunes folder if it is still there.
    Then reboot.
    Then try re installing.
    After you have that copy your music files to the new PC and use the File > Add Folder option to add them to iTunes. Use the other import features under File to import the other music data

    Hi all,
    I have quit Creative Cloud. Checked for updates.
    Only activity that could have affected system files was to uninstall the CC apps, keeping the CC 2014 apps only.
    I need to use the render flame filter but I get the following error

    I get this error with render tree and render frame.
    A response will be appreciated
    Thanks

    There is a "Symmetry Fill.jsx" script is Photoshop CC 2014 Preset Deco folder along with "Picture Frame.jsx" and "Tree.jsx" each of those scripts line 43 is a comment not executable code.  There are other scripts in that folder related the those rendering scripts could your folder have been corrupted somehow. I don't think uninstalling CC would have corrupted that folder for the doler fi not exist when CC was installed.
    Look at the line 43 in the files, Here is what I see on my Windows 7 Pro CC 2014 system

    Dear Experts,
    I have developed an import too and it imports many of the Business Objects from a temporary data base to SAP B1. It was running fine for more than 6 months now.
    Currently when the Tool is importing Credit Notes in to SAP B1, the following error is thrown.
    The specified resource name cannot be found in the image file.
    And I have no Clue about the error. Any one had any experience regarding the above error???
    Thanks in Advance,

  • Resource name field for target oracle table

    Hi,
    I want to build a generic interface that takes data from different similar structured flat files and loads to different target table (similar structure).
    I thought I will use the resource name field for both source and target and use variables to determine the source and target names during runtime.
    the problem is it runs fine at the source when i change the file names to load from but it fails at the target when i use variable to determine the target name.
    Did anyone try this earlier? if yes, can you please help? The error I got was 911 : 42000 : java.sql.SQLSyntaxErrorException: ORA-00911: invalid character
    and the query generated was
    insert into      SCHEMANAME.#PROJREP."v_generic_interface_target_name"
         COL1,
         COL2,
         COl3
    select
         C1_COL1,
         C2_COL2,
         C3_COL3
    from     STGSCHEMA.C$_0DEMO1
    where     (1=1)

    Hi,
    Which KM you are using ?
    Try to use #PROJREP.v_generic_interface_target_name into Resource name of the table in the data models.

  • XML document must have a top level element. Error processing resource

    Hi,
    I am trying to send a XML file to a web browser from a servlet. I read the contents of the XML file into a string and I am sending it to the brower. Before I do this I set the 'Content-type' header of the httpResponse to "application/xml" . Embedded in the XML file is an xml-stylesheet elemetn indicating which *.xsl stylesheet to use to parse the XML content.
    I get the following error:
    The XML page cannot be displayed
    Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.
    XML document must have a top level element. Error processing resource 'http://127.0.0.1:8080/testReplyingXML/xml-to-html.xs...
    Now, if I take the stylesheet element out of the XML string I sent, then the browser stores the content into and *.xml file. I manually run the "xml-to-xsl " stylesheet mentioned in the error output above, and there is no problem, the xml content gets successfully transformed in a viewable HTML .
    It is only when I embed the "stylesheet" element into the XML content that I get this error.
    So the browser is receiveing valid XML.
    I am not sure if the above error is complaining about the XML content I send or the stylesshet .
    Does anyone have an idea of what am I doing wrong?

    Error processing resource http://127.0.0.1:8080/testReplyingXML/xml-to-html.xs...
    Well, if one more character had been deleted from that message then you would have a problem. But as it is, the error message says there's an error processing a resouce whose name ends with "xml-to-html.xs" followed by something. That would be the stylesheet if I'm not mistaken. Most likely the browser can't find it at the URL mentioned in the error message.

  • Hibernate Mapping Exception Error reading resource: Help Please

    I've downloaded Hibernate this weekend and have been working at getting this up and running in my spare time. I've run into a problem and can't seem to find the solution. I'm hoping some one here can help me out.
    I'm running MyEclipse
    MySQL
    and Hibernate 2 in a struts application
    I've only got one form and table that I'm trying to map right now, but I get the above error when I run this line of code.
    Configuration cfg = new Configuration().addClass(AddCustomerForm.class);
    Does anyone have any ideas. Here are the important sections from the two configuration files
    <!-- hibernate.cfg.xml-->
    <hibernate-configuration>
        <session-factory>
            <!-- properties -->
            <property name="connection.username">PaintTracker</property>
            <property name="connection.url">jdbc:mysql://127.0.0.1:3306/PaintTracker</property>
            <property name="dialect">net.sf.hibernate.dialect.MySQLDialect</property>
            <property name="connection.password">PaintTracker</property>
            <property name="connection.driver_class">com.mysql.jdbc.Driver</property>
            <property name="show_sql">true</property>
            <mapping resource="com/PaintTracker/struts/form/AddCustomerForm.hbm.xml"/>
        </session-factory>
    <!--AddCustomerForm.hbm.xml -->
    <hibernate-mapping>
         <class name="com.PaintTracker.struts.form.AddCustomerForm" table="customer">
              <id name="customerID" column="CustomerID" type="java.lang.Long" unsaved-value="0">
                   <generator class="identity"/>
              </id>
              <property name="firstName" column="FirstName" type="java.lang.String"/>
              <property name="lastName" column="LastName" type="java.lang.String"/>
              <property name="streetAddress" column="StreetAddress" type="java.lang.String"/>
              <property name="middleInitial" column="MiddleInitial" type="java.lang.String"/>
              <property name="city" column="City" type="java.lang.String"/>
              <property name="state" column="State" type="java.lang.String"/>
              <property name="zipCode" column="ZipCode" type="java.lang.String"/>
              <property name="phoneNumber" column="PhoneNumber" type="java.lang.Long"/>
              <property name="emailAddressLeft" column="EmailAddressLeft" type="java.lang.String"/>
              <property name="emailAddressRight" column="EmailAddressRight" type="java.lang.String"/>
              <property name="company" column="Company" type="java.lang.String"/>
         </class>
    </hibernate-mapping>

    ok finally gotten back to this and rewrote a bunch of the code. I'm getting almost the same error, but not quite.
    I'm still getting org.hibernate.MappingException: Error reading resource: but it is pointing to the first mapping resource located inside the hibernate.cfg.xml.. so I know it is finding and making it inside the hibernate.cfg.xml.
    this is the code that the exception occurs in.
    the actual line is the configuration.configure(); in the else statement.
    public HibernateUtil(URL url2) {
              Configuration configuration = new Configuration();
              log.info("configuration_static is null");
              log.debug("configuring configuration_static from " + url2);
              try {
                   if (url2 != null)
                        configuration.configure(url2);
                   else
                        configuration.configure();
                   this.sessionFactory = configuration.buildSessionFactory();
                   log.info("Configuration complete");
              } catch (HibernateException e) {
                   log.error(e);
                   System.out.println(e);
                   configuration = null;
                   log.info("Configuration failed.  Setting config to null!");
         }The resource I am trying to read is located correctly (eclipse lets you navigate to and choose the xml file to use.. it then builds the hibernate.cfg.xml file for you.)
    here is a copy of the resource that is giving me a problem... whichever resource I have listed first is the one the exception is thrown for... so I'm hoping I just have something mixed up in the way I'm writing my xml files.
    <hibernate-mapping package="com.WorkoutTracker.db.model">
         <class name="com.WorkoutTracker.db.model.User" table="user">
              <id name="userID" column="userId" type="java.lang.Long" unsaved-value="0">
                   <generator class="increment"/>
              </id>
              <property name="userFName" column="userFName" type="java.lang.String"/>
              <property name="userLName" column="userLName" type="java.lang.String"/>
         </class>

    java.lang.NullPointerException

    Hi guys
    We are running a EP 7.0. We have external clients connecting from the internet through a 3rd party application gateway / reverse proxy. We have the problem that this gateway responds with 'service unavailable' while direct http(s) connections to the portal work without problem.
    Now i noticed the same messages in the dispatcher default trace.
    2008-02-07 17:40:55:155 Connection 300800 is NOT removed! serverToConnections = ...

    I do not have a solution here, but i list some information on our system, so you can compare it to your environnements.
    - Enterprise Portal 7.0 SP13
    - our network guys observed a lot of tcp connections from the gateway to the portal with status CLOSE_WAIT
    - they also observed the portal sending a RST tcp packet instead of FIN (or FIN_ACK?)
    - the application gateway runs on Sun Solaris the portal on Linux x86_64
    - connection uses https
    The issue is very obscure, we are trying to tcpdump and decrypt the data, but no luck so far.
    Best regards, Michael
