No ADF Mobile Extension for JDeveloper 11.1.1.4.0?

Hi,
I have recently upgraded from jdev 11.1.1.3 to 11.1.1.4.0, and when checking for extension, can no longer find the one for ADF Mobile Client extension.
But the tutorial at : http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/obe/jdev/obe11jdev/ps3/adf_mobile_top/adf_mobile/jdtut_11r2_54_1.html, says that its available.
Can someone please clarify if its available for 11.1.1.4.0 and if so, how to get it?
If not, how do I build mobile adf projects using this version? Or do I need to roll-back 11.1.1.3 if I want to build mobile client apps? And guess that would apply to mobile browser apps too?

Hemant

Hi Joe,
Thanks a bunch for that quick and comprehensive reply, and sorry for not replying earlier!
The reason why I was delaying your response was since our team was having some discussions around the mobile platform with a few leading analyst firms, and we wanted to get their inputs too about what kind of future are they seeing for such apps.
Having got their inputs now, we are happy to note that Android and iOS support is coming soon, looking forward to Windows 7 support too, and in agreement with your views about J2SE/Windows, Palm/WebOS and Symbian.
However, we are seeing a lot of queries from our clients, especially from ASIA-PAC region where they are asking for either platform-agnostic support ("the app should work on any phone!") or specifically for J2ME / consumer-phone devices.
Given that you have not thought about targeting those yet, can we look forward to engaging with you about the same?
Do please let me know.
PS: By the way, we did get the Mobile ADF Client extension last week for JDev 11.1.1.4.0, but when trying to create a deployment profile for the mobile client app for blackberry, the BB and WinMobile deployment profile options are coming disabled. Can you please help us as to how to enable those?
We have installed the blackberry JDE and 9700 simulators both, and also provided their path in the Tools->Preferences in JDev.

Hemant

(should have given a link here, but not able to find the most correct one right now)
As a matter of fact it seems like several postings in blogs and discussion forums touch this area.
Just wonder if we could smooth this process a bit.
issuing this command sequence, did the trick:
    sudo mkdir -p /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6.0/Home/jre/lib
    cd /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6.0/Home/jre/lib
    sudo ln -s /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6.0/classes/classes.jar rt.jar
Then for jdk location I selected

    Hi,
I'm trying to install the ADF Mobile extension using JDeveloper version 11.1.2.3.0. I have tried following options -:
1.) Install extension from Official Oracle Extensions and Updates . Help->Check for Updates->select Official Oracle Extensions and Updates->Next ->ADF Mobile ->Next ->Finish->Restart Jdev
2.) Downloaded ADF Mobile extension zip file and saved it in local drive. Then Help->Check for Updates->Install from Local drive.
On restarting the Jdeveloper when i tried to verify the installation, i'm unable to see ADF Mobile framework in the Extensions tab. Plus i do not see ADF Mobile option when i go to create a new application.
I have tried to install the extension atleast 8-9 times still no luck.
Please advice what could be the reason why installation is getting failed.

  • Noncomplainance of OracleJDeveloper in obtaing the ADF Mobile Extension(connection)

Reading through your recent posting on the new Mobile extension, for the oracle JDeveloper assumes that it's available.  When I searched, after checking all required boxes it never showed up.
Not getting that extension, was only the first hurdle, or should  I should say, a key determining factor.  Trying to get a connect between JDeveloper and the sample database, was  I guess
on retrospect, impossible.  Can, you update your inventory of updates, as I tried three times, and no Mobile extension was found, in that batch.
Procedure:, I did install JDeveloper first, and then went back to install Oradb11_Home1 for my workspace and unpacked the sample database. perhaps, all went well, until I I tried to establish the network
connection, resulting in message, connection null.
Thanks, if anyone has worked through the example, as written.  One last question, for this example to work, should you use the database for personal user, standard or enterprise or specialized installation?
Sorry, I'm very new to Oracle, bear with me.

Which version of JDeveloper did you install?
To work with the mobile extension you'll need to install 11.1.2.4 - see the "important note" box on this page:
    Oracle JDeveloper Software
As for the database connection - we'll need a bit more info on what specific error are you getting.
For the JDeveloper tutorials any version of the Oracle DB should work.

  • Download ADF Mobile extension

    Hi
I use jdev 11.1.2.4 to develop adf mobile .
    same as this link http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E18941_01/tutorials/setupmobileapps/jdtut_11r2_54_2.html
when i want to follow 9 , 10 section , i cannot connect to update center
    NOW :
why cant i connect to oracle update center ? and how can i solve it ?( i use proxy for connect to www.oracle.com ; may this make problem ?)
Is there any offline update for "ADF Mobile extension" ?
    Thanks a lot

You can download the extension directly from http://www.oracle.com/ocom/groups/public/@otn/documents/webcontent/131167.xml#oracle.adf.mobile
Mostly your problem has it's root in hte proxy settings.

  • Portals Extensions for JDeveloper 10.1.3

    Hi
I am trying to install the portal extensions for Jdeveloper, I get the following error when I run Jdeveloper after the install command
    java -jar C:\portal-addin-install.jar C:\Jdeveloper

    Can someone help??

The extension installer was for JDev 10.1.2 and 9.0.5. JDeveloper 10.1.3.2 comes with an up to date version of the portlet creation extension.

  • HTMLB Mobile Extensions for Pocket PC JSP development

    Hi,
Can you use HTMLB without using an iView (Portal Component)?
There is an SAP tutorial at http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/87/7b583c2439e66fe10000000a114084/content.htm
which describes HTMLB Mobile Extensions for Java. There is some demo source code which uses a JSP to embed a table control - this table control has a different format depending on the browser (ie Pocket PC, WAP etc).
The jsp code has the following at the top..
    <%@ page import="com.sapportals.htmlb.,com.sap.mobile.htmlb.rendering., com.sapportals.htmlb.table.TableView,com.sapportals.htmlb.event.*" %>
    <%@ taglib uri="htmlb.tld" prefix="hbj" %>
But does not explain how the tag library is configured within a web.xml file. There are other examples where HTMLB is used within a Portal Component (iView)and in these cases the portalapp.xml file has the reference to
    <property name="tagLib" value="/SERVICE/htmlb/taglib/htmlb.tld"/>
.. but what if you're not using an iview? What if you want to use 'straight' J2EE/JSP or something else?
There seems to be a contradiction here because if you write an application as an iView it can not even be viewed from within a Pocket PC browser! So how do you use HTMLB without using an iView?
I would just like to know how to use HTMLB controls in an application that can be used on a PDA?
    Thanks
    Adam

    Hi Adam,
since you're talking about 'straight' J2EE/JSP application, I guess you should opt for the standard way of using tabligs in J2EE web apps. Have a look at <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/dd/9a7005444a2d478edcc986ef10dd52/frameset.htm">these</a> pages for more info about how to configure tabligs on the Web AS.
    Hope that helps!

  • ADF mobile: doc for supported css available?

    Hi,
    jdev 11.1.2.3.0 + mobile extension.
Is there any documentation available which css functionality (known from ADF web applications) is available for ADF mobile and which limitations are known?
    e.g.: is -tr-rule-ref supported?
I have already checked the adf mobile samples from Oracle but without success and I could not make a -tr-rule-ref example working for ADF mobile.
    regards
    Peter

    Hi,
I know this statement from Oracle site.
    But:
    - As far I know -tr-rule-ref is not CSS3 standard but trinidad/ADF extension
    - Even there is no documentation available I know a couple of areas where things are "not supported yet" in ADF mobile.
But anyway I guess the best way to go is to open an SR for this to get clarification.

  • How to use mapviewer extension for jdevelop?

I am working on the mapviewer. But my problem is that I can not connect mapviewer, or I can not start mapviewer using the embedded oc4j by jdeveloper. In mapviewer faq I read that:
"How do I view the mapping metadata through JDeveloper's Connections Navigator?
We have developed an Oracle JDeveloper extension that lets you browse the available list of styles, themes and basemaps defined in a datasource through JDeveloper's Connections Navigator. To do this, you will first need to download the mvconnection.jar file from OTN's MapViewer site. This jar contains the code that defines a MapViewer connection type for JDeveloper. To install, simply drop this jar file to the JDeveloper extension directory, normally $JDEV_HOME/jdev/lib/ext. Then restart JDeveloper, and you are all set.
But when I restart jdeveloper, I got the message:
    "H:\Programme\jdev\jdev\lib\ext\mvpalette.jar!\META-INF\jdev-ext.xml
Error: jar:file:/H:/Programme/jdev/jdev/lib/ext/mvpalette.jar!/META-INF/jdev-ext.xml<Line 105, Column 18>: XSD-2021: (Error) Element not completed: 'jsplibrary'

I use Jdeveloper 10g. Have you ever met the same problem?
    Thanks in advance

The Map Viewer extension is still not available for JDeveloper 10g. It works with JDeveloper 9.
The Mapping group is currently working on an upgrade.

I'm looking for the Trim Trailing Space extension version 10.1.3.2.0, for JDeveloper 10.1.3.5. I've tried the normal "Check for Updates", but the zip file that it tries to download doesn't exist. Rob,
I sent an email to Chris (the author of the extension) and he has now recreated the extension for the 10.1.3.5 version that you are looking for. He added it to his download page on the Google Code.
Here is a link to the file:

I'll work on getting the Update Center corrected as well, but this should get you going for now.
