No audio with MLS Direct Kick package
For some reason, there's is no audio with the MLS Direct Kick package tonight. After spending a fruitless hour on the phone with Fios tech support, their only solution was to dispatch a technician to my house which didn't make any sense to me since they had me reset both of my boxes to see if that would fix the problem.
Anyone else experience this problem?

I have Wondows Vista... I tried to upgrade to Itunes 10.5, and received an error orginially stating that I was trying to install a version older than the one I had. Thanks!I have been in touch with Apple support in reference to my problem. We went through every solution available, and found no fix. The tech then suggested I contact Microsoft concerning this issue. I thought that suggestion was just to get me pointed somewhere but Apple. Boy was I wrong!! I contacted Microsoft, and was directed to a free download called Microsoft Fix. This program fixed something in the regisitor, and wala everything was fixed!! I now have I-Cloud and I-Tunes loaded and working well. So, if you can't install Apple Software and are running Window 7 you might give Microsoft Fix a try, it fixed my problem.....

I'm trying to download the iOS 5 and I get almost all the way done but then it stops when it's on Status and goes to an error and says "There is a problem with this windows Installer Package. A program run as part of the set up did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor." I have a windows vista computer.. but it should be able to run on it...
Any ideas on how to fix this??
Thanks!!'NOsaint09' - I was getting your same error message trying to install the iTunes 10.5 update on my Windows XP machine (in order to install iOS 5 on my iPhone 4). Tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes several times to no avail - same message, no install.
Well, after reading the above post by 'wiss...' i went to start Apple Software Update and was getting another (very cryptic) error message just trying to start ASU. I thought perhaps the problem with this program was causing iTunes 10.5 not to install - so I went to uninstall Apple Software Update using Windows Add/Remove Programs, and got another error message (not allowing the uninstall)!
Knowing there are programs out there just for the purpose of doing a forced & thorough uninstall, I search Cnet Downloads for the best free Uninstaller and downloaded Revo Uninstaller. Used Revo to uninstall Apple Software Update (and all associated files/data it found in registry).
Then to be sure, ran Disk Cleanup in windows to empty the Temp files/folders and Restarted the computer.
Finally, I ran the iTunes Setup.exe for 10.5 and it installed successfully!! Woohoo! I hope my experience may help others with similar troubles!

Logging data after a trigger with Lookout Direct
Hi,
I would like to log data with Lookout Direct after a trigger input (not periodically or continuously). I am using Lookout DIrect version 4.5.1 build 19 and a Direct Logic 250 PLC.
Does anyone have suggestions on how to do this? I would prefer that this data be logged into Excel. I have 24 sensors connected to the PLC and each time a sensor transitions from hi to low I would like to log the time of transition.
Currently I have individual spreadsheet storage objects for each sensor as well as individual latchgates to indicate when logging has been completed. In the PLC code there is a state machine for each individual sensor as well and one of the states waits for an acknowledgement from Lookout that data logging has been completed before moving on to the next state (I will have to dig a bit deeper to remember exactly why I needed to do that).
I am hoping there is a more traditional approach that is easier than what I am doing. One of the problems I have been facing is Lookout Direct crashing every few days and I suspect it is because the sensors are often sensed within milliseconds of each other and opening/closing so many files is causing problems. I worked through a list of possible reasons that Lookout may be crashing (provided by tech support) and I am nearly convinced I am just asking too much of the program...

DavidIn case someone can help with this, here is a bit more information about my application and the PLC/Lookout code I have developed:
Actuators have two positions, nominal and folded. Prox sensors are used to monitor the position of actuators. 12 actuators can be monitored simultaneously. The time at which prox sensors are sensed high is recorded so that actuator speed and actuation success is logged.
The PLC code consists of 12 separate state machines, each with the following 8 states:
State 1
System reset or nominal timer reset
Wait for nominal prox release
State 2
Nominal prox released
Wait for folded prox sense
State 3
Folded prox sensed
Wait for folded ack from Lookout (acknowledges that timer value has been logged)
State 4
Folded ack from Lookout received
Wait for folded timer reset (this state is active for one scan only)
State 5
Fold-in timer reset
Wait for folded prox release
State 6
Folded prox released
Wait for nominal prox sense
State 7
Nominal prox sensed
Wait for nominal ack from Lookout (acknowledges that timer value has been logged)
State 8
Nominal ack received from Lookout
Wait for nominal timer reset (this state is active for one scan only)
Lookout acknowledges that timer values have been read and saved with LatchGates. Lookout uses a SpreadSheet Storage Object to save the PLC timers when the PLC enters states 3 or 7 (prox sensor triggered). The logged member of the SpreadSheet Storage Object is used to change the state of the LatchGates which, in turn, signal the PLC to proceed to the next state. When the folded file is saved, the nominal LatchGate is turned off and the folded LatchGate is turned on and vice-versa for the nominal file.
The LatchGate/SpreadSheet Storage combination is what I am hoping to improve upon. I believe Lookout is crashing when 12 SpreadSheet Storage Objects log to 12 different files during the same 1 second period of time.
If anyone has suggestions of a way to log this data in the PLC memory or a software package better suited for this application, please let me know! I believe this would be simple with LabVIEW, unfortunately obtaining the additional hardware and software that I would need hasn't been easy! -

Trying to install latest version of 64bit Itunes. I'm getting the error message "There is a problem with this Windows install package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor". All the solutions require an uninistall of all apple software, which i have done, with no success. Apple software update is not in programs and features to uninstall. I've also tried install just safari, and I get the same error.
I've run cCleaner to fix any registery issues which hasn't worked either.

Infrequently, calls will not have audio in one direction.
We're using OCS 2007 R2 with a Dialogic DMG2000 series gateway and Tanjay phones. Occasionally, I have a user who might complain that an outbound call doesn't have audio in one direction or the other. This happens once every few days. I don't see errors anywhere and the Dialogic reports that there are no call issues. The problem will clear up quickly and appears at random. We still have the old PBX up, which also flows through the same Dialogic and does not experience the issue so I believe it's buried in OCS somewhere.
How can I being troubleshooting an issue like this? Can someone point me in a direction? I want my users to have as much confidence in this solution as possible.One way audio issues have a few common root causes to check for:
1) Communicator users can sometimes mute speakers or mic on their PC without realizing it. Also If they have multiple audio devices attached then check they one they think they are using is really the one selected. Some devices also have local
mute buttons that get selected without the user realizing it.
2) Faulty devices can cause one way audio. Switch the device for one you know that works to test this or try using Sound Recorder to record a raw audio file and then play it back.
3) PSTN gateway configuration issues. This is a tougher one to troubleshoot, but if only OCS-PSTN calls are experiencing one way audio and it happens to many different users this is a likely cause. Check the codec configuration of GW means codec choices
with the Mediation Server match, i.e. G.711 u-law or G.711 a-law are preferred on both sides. Other configuration issues are vendor specific and so you may need their help verifying the Gateway is properly setup.
4) Less commonly network issues can cause one-way audio if there are serious routing or packet loss problems in one direction. You can look for signs of this in the QoE Server report of an affected call. The "PacketUtilization" metric records the packet
count for an audio stream. (You can find details of what indiviudal QoE metrics mean here -

collect network sniffs during an affected call.

Can't Get Audio with Sirius Online Player
PC: H-P desktop with Windows 98 SE Internet: Windstream (formerly Alltel) DSL Router: WRT54G v.8 With a direct Ethernet connection between the PC and the DSL modem, I can listen to Sirius Online player, but when the WRT54G router is added between the modem and the PC (either wirelessly or with an Ethernet cable), I no longer get audio on the Sirius Online Player. I can log into my account on Sirius but when I select a channel, the player says it is "Connecting" for a few seconds and then it says "Ready" and doesn't play anything. When the PC is directly connected to the modem, the player will say it is connecting but then displays different messages: "Connecting to media", "Buffering", then "Playing..." and works fine. Our two laptops running Windows XP Home can wirelessly connector to the router and play the Sirius online player without trouble. Any help would be appreciated.
I have found the answer - it was a stupid setting in my
Windows Media Player: Options, Player, Connect to the
Internet was unchecked. It is still baffling to me that
it would work without the router and stop working when
I put the router between the modem and the PC.
You just have to know the right question to ask, or Google.
Another post mentioned that sites like Sirius's player had
Windows Media Player embedded and that Options settings in
the WMP on the PC affected the embedded players. The poster
suggested checking the "Connect to the Internet" option.

No audio with music videos or movie previews in iTunes
Does anyone know of a fix for the (apparently well-known) no audio with music videos, movie trailers, TV shows, etc?
Running the latest version of both iTunes and QT on my Dell with Windows XP, but all I get is very choppy sound. Sometimes, no sound at all.
Regular music, however, plays fine (both bought and previewed).

I am a novice who just bought this software and for weeks I have been trying to resolve the problem of importing my video into PR Pro, but there is no audio with my video. I get this great video with no sound. I called technical support who indicated that I had to use .avi instead of .mpeg, so I purchased software to convert my videos to .avi but still have the same problem. I can't even get started using PR Pro and cannot get proper technical help when I call Adobe.
I am using a Sony DCR-DVD108 camcorder which does not have a firewire connection, so I import the files to PR from my documents folder on my computer. I have no problem using Windows Media Movie maker (free software)and my videos come out fine. I paid big bucks for PR Pro CS3,yet I cannot use it. While you may WANT Premiere to edit your divx/mpeg file... there have been dozens-to-hundreds of messages discussing problems, so Premiere clearly is not designed for that type of file

Quicktime (or, I add, AVI) is a container which may contain many flavors of video... only some of which are designed for editing... which means that your COMPRESSED file inside that container is simply not going to edit very well -

what's going on with my itunes audio. now whnever itunes is playing audio, if I open any other app, i.e. net browser, and use the scroll or perform any other activity, my audio starts skipping out - badly. never did before the 7.0 upgrade????

thanks!Ok. After alot of frustration and late night experimenting I have found that controlling my page file size has seemed to correct my "stuttering audio" with iTunes 7.0. My pagefile.sys had swelled to 4 times it's normal size after the upgrade.(?) I can't prove this or tell you why it happened. All I know is setting my page file sizes to 100-800 (min.& max. respectively) my system response while having iTunes open along with other apps has improved 100%. It hasn't skipped once after re-creating all of the instances that had once brought my audio to a screaching halt.(literally) It may be helpful to note that my system currently has 2GB of ram. So setting the page file to these lower settings has not had any negative effects when running Cubase SX or my video editing software. No, I'm not an expert nor do I claim any authority in the computing industry whatsoever. Just thought I'd share my experience with others.

Final Cut Express won't capture audio with the video anymore, why?
I have used Final Cut Express 4 for over a year now with no problems, but recently I am unable to capture any audio with the video from my camera. I can do it through iMovie no problem. I can't figure out if I changed a setting by accident because everything looks normal to me. Could another program be interfering with this? Quicktime Pro? I have no idea how to fix this.
First of all, we need a bunch of information in order to help. Please provide the specs of the footage and the sequence you are using. Also, are you using DV, HDV, or AVCHD? Do you hear audio when the clip is played in the viewer, or is there no audio at all once the clip is captured/ingested?

Unable to record internal audio with RecordMyDesktop
In order to record sound and video from my desktop, I installed RecordMyDesktop (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/RecordMyDesktop) and followed the instructions from post #4 and #6 on a thread about "Recording internal audio with alsa and recordmydesktop" (https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 3#p1359593). When I try to record with "recordmydesktop --device looprec", it will not start recording and closes with the following error:

I can record from the microphone with with the command "recordmydesktop". I succeeded in recording the internal audio with audacity by choosing the device "looprec" for recordings. I'm not sure why RecordMyDesktop gives an error while Audacity does not. Below is my ~/.asoundrc, which I copied from the aforementioned thread. I am not knowledgeable, but I guess there is a mistake in it? Would you please assist me solving this error? Thank you for your time.

Problems with Adobe Creative Cloud Packager

I have a problem with the Creative cloud packager.
i can pakage fine but when i try to install the package on another mac it simply says installation failed after a few minutes, i can see it installs Adobe Bridge in the launchpad but nothing more.
The package includes Photoshop , Bridge, Muse, Premiere, Illustrator, Indesign, After Effects,l Dreamweaver, incopy, lightroom,
The install works fine if i try to install it on the mac i made the package with
The mac im trying to install on is a imac 27 " 5K osx 10.10Hi KwKn,
Does it work on the machine on which you are creating the package?
Do you have any security software running on the machine?

Hi! I can't upgrade my iTunes 10.3.1.55 on my Windows XP 2002 SP3 to the latest version of iTunes. Got the message: "A problem has occured with the Windows Installer-package. A program needed for this installation could not be run." What to do?
Perhaps let's first try updating your Apple Software Update.
Launch Apple Software Update ("Start > All Programs > Apple Software Update"). Does it launch and offer you a newer version of Apple Software Update? If so, choose to install just that update to Apple Software Update. (Deselect any other software offered at the same time.)
If the ASU update goes through okay, try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the errors this time?
