No batteries detected after exploding battery mishap

a few months ago while my MBP was charging i heard a snap, looked over and saw that it wasnt sitting on the desk right, the battery had expanded and pushed it self out and instantly stopped working... just now ive gotten a new genuine apple battery and im still getting the no batteries detected X in the icon. also the leds dont light up as usual when the computer is charging. ive done some research and possibly somtimes the ribbon cable going from the battery to the logicboard go.. could this be it? or did i get a defective battery.

It's possible that the expanding battery exerted pressure on the computer from below and changed the internal geometry. If so, then that may be why your new battery is not being recognized. You might want to carefully check where the contacts are and see if you can see any misalignment which is preventing good contact. Possibly the internal contacts were pushed up in such a way that they no longer engage properly with the battery contacts.

I have a Equium A300D-16C. The original battery was shot so I purchased a Genuine PA3727-1brs 12 cell battery. I have put it in the laptop it appears to charge it but in the corner it still says no battery detected even though its on charge. When I take out the charger it will say unknown remaining.

Is it an original Toshiba battery from an authorized service provider?
Usually the new battery should be detected after first start I would recommend charging the battery while notebook is turned off. Then start notebook with battery only and check if its recognized properly.

After market battery not working

I have recenty purchased an after market battery for macbook pro and when i put the battery in the computer just dies??? if i take out the battery and just use the power source the computer works fine, then i put in the battery in and it just dies? any suggestions anyone....?

aftermarket batteries are usually junk. Get a genuine Apple battery.

Sometimes i sleep and the my iphone is charging and of course the battery became full after two or three hours, and definitely i will not wake up in the midnight to just disconnect the charger, please i need your help.

This is considered normal use. I think everybody does this, including myself. It's not something to worry about in the least bit.
Just remember to complete a full charge cycle (allow the phone's battery to discharge to 10%-20%, then charge uninterruped to 100%) once a month and you'll be fine.

Hi guys,
I hope someone can help. I have an early 2011 Macbook Pro 13 it was working OK but now has come up no batteries detected and I have tried a pram reset, smc reset and a new battery but still no luck.
I did manage to get it to work for a while by turning it on with the power adapter connect then restarting it but at the point of the restart I pulled the power and it came on with the battery.
If I start it with the power adapter connected and then pull the power it will boot to the login screen briefly then go into sleep until I reconnect the power.
I am out of ideas and I am ment to be giving it as a present to my girlfriend at Christmas :-(
When the power adapter is connected it just has a solid green light at all times never changes even if I do the smc reset.
I really hope this can be repaired if anyone has any ideas it would be very much appreciated.

It would help to know which one of the 9 different models of MacBook you have. To see which model you have go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info. When System Profiler comes up check the Model Identifier and post it back here.

I am considering to buy a MacBook, and operate it entirely on batteries. I'm electro-sensitive.

It is not possible to install two factory batteries at the same time.
But, it is possible to use two batteries together (sort of).
For the PowerBook and iBook, there are after-market battery options that provide you with extended battery run-time.
Essentially, they are large and flat batteries that are approximately the same length and width as the iBook or PowerBook.
They are very thin, and essentially look like a small plate.
Basically, they plug into the iBook or PowerBook's power port, and provide it with power just as if it were plugged into the wall.
So, the computer believes that it is getting power from the wall adapter. Then, when that battery drains, it moves onto using the standard battery.

There are many different companies that I have seen selling these types of devices. So, you can look around.

Macbook no longer "sleeps" after 'low battery' warning, just suddenly dies

My macbook (just over a year old) used to give me a warning with 10 minutes left that it would sleep so as my data was not lost, if I didn't plug it in. However, recently, it has stopped doing this - instead of sleeping, if I don't get to a power source in time within 10 minutes, it simply cuts out, with the sound of the hard drive stopping - like if you shut down a frozen macbook with the power button.
This is REALLY irritating - what's going on? Why does it not sleep anymore, and is there any way to fix it?
I'm on Tiger 10.4.11, with an intel macbook...

I remember when trying to do an battery update to 1.3 manually the update told me that it is not for my macbook. But - I found the 1.3 update Bundle in /System/Library/Configuration/BatteryUpdater.bundle
1. I Removed /System/Library/Configuration/BatteryUpdater.bundle from my system
2. rebooted
3. Emptied trash
4. Installed update 1.2 by Softwarupdate.
I will now do an SMC reset an then let the battery run low and watch what happens.
Then do a calibration.
I have the problem here in different ways. Sometimes Macbook shuts down suddenly after low battery warning, sometimes it sleep, almost never it hibernates.

USB connected iPhone 4 (iOS 7.0.4) is not recognised in iTunes.
Sluggish response when starting iTunes.

After updating to the newest version of iTunes which is 11.1.3.8, I can no longer edit song information because whenever I click Get Info, the program crashes. It says, "iTunes has stopped working...". I literally tried all the troubleshooting techniques here but to no avail!
I already:
Reinstalled iTunes and other related programs like a hundred times
Scanned my computer for viruses
Opened iTunes on another user account
Opened iTunes on safe mode
Removed unusable configuration files
BUT STILL, the problem persists. I have the same version of iTunes on my office computer and it works perfectly fine but I want my iTunes here at home to get fixed. Never had problems with editing song information until I updated it to 11.1.3.8.
I just don't know what to do anymore. I updated this program last January 1 and until now I haven't found any solution. It's really getting on my nerves!!!

It will take longer to charge the 5G's battery than either the 3G or 4G's battery.

Ipod Touch not getting detected after IOS upgrade.

I have recently upgraded the firmware of my Ipod Touch (1G) to IOS 3.0.1 and was successful in upgrading.
The issue i am facing is that my ipod touch is not getting detected after reconnecting and the ipod touch is not getting switched on...it is just showing the apple symbol and the progress bar.
Please let me know if anyone has faced similar type of issue.

Are you using a USB hub? Try connecting the iphone directly to the computer's USB port and see if that makes a difference.
Also, with the upgrade, this seems to happen a lot. Most of the time if it is not the USB issue above, it can be resolved by simply redownloading Itunes and installing it on top of your current installation.
