No data in Daily Activity Report

Hi expert,
There was no data in Daily Activity Report. But I changed the interval to 'Hourly', it displayed normally.
Why?
the version is 7.0 SP17

That is what I do, but also no data.
Does it need to set 'Save interval (minutes)' to 1440 in 'com.sap.portal.activityreport.core'?

Delay time data at Daily Production Report

Hi all
We hereby crated the Daily Production report which has the delay deatils of all depts. The delay details we are using with notifications. The problem is users required the shift wise delay according to the production.
SAP std we couldnt keep the shift at notifications level (exit also helps but time couldnt assign). The Shift A is 7 am-3 pm, B- 3 pm to 11 pm. C- 11pm-7 am. The malfunaction start time some time may exceed from the A to B shift. But delay calculation hours is only one. With out going for hard coded how could assign the delay hours shift wise.
At notification level is Capacity requirements will appear as per shift ?

1.Select a capacity category for which the actual capacity requirements are to be calculated on the Capacities tab page in the resource.
2.Choose ActCapReqmnts.
3.The Settings for Determining the Actual Capacity Requirements dialog box appears.
4.Set the Calc. actual cap. reqmts indicator.
5.If the actual capacity requirements are to be calculated from activities:
Enter one activity for each actual capacity requirement in Actual capacity requirements from activities. Determine the standard value parameter that identifies the corresponding activity.

Activity Reporting X Activity Data Collector

Hi,
there are two types of activity reporting in SAP Enterprise Portal, Activity Data Collector and Activity Reporting. The SAP documentation for the Activity Data Collector
(http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/47/8ac2e51b141e1ee10000000a42189d/content.htm) specifies that the "Directory Name" property can be either a relative path or an absolute path on the server (<drive>:\dir).
However, the SAP documentation for the Activity Reporting (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/45/74eeda9ba26975e10000000a114a6b/frameset.htm) does not explicitly specify that the "Directory Name" property can be an absolute path on the server.
I've started the Activity Reporting for KM documents, but I don't have permissions to re-start the server anytime in order to test all the possible configurations. For now, the "Directory Name" is an absolute path. Can the "Directory Name" property of Actitity Reporting (KM) be an absolute path on the server? In order to start the Activity Reporting (KM), is it required to first start the Activity Data Collector?

Hi Daniel,
I don't think you need to activate the first Active Data Collector you mentioned,
there are two ADC releases - one for Portal and one for KM
Does your requeriments specify you must use an absolute path? Otherwise I'd
suggest using a relative path (/usr/sap/<SID>/...) - haven't tested absolute paths though.
so I don't know if that'd work.

No data in Portal Database tables for Activity Report

Hi experts,
I've developed an Activity Report application in SAP Portal 7.0, which went live but the report shows no data.
We are pulling data from 2 portal database tables: WCR_WEBCONTENTSTAT and WCR_USERPAGEUSAGE
In non production environment there is data in the report but there is no data in the production environment.
The Activity Report service is already activated/started and set to true.
What could have caused this? And what should we check now?
What other configurations/setup should be done?

Hi Greg,
Those are the aggregated tables. If they are not filled with data although the Portal Activity Report is activated, you should check whether the aggregation finished successfully.
In the older SPs there were some problems that were fixed in later SPs of 7.0.
In order to have the latest version of Portal Activity report, you can check SAP note 1084379 - Portal Activity Report - Latest Version (SDA file).
You can compare the SP via the MANIFAST file, as it contains the version and SP number.
In order to troubleshoot problems in Activity Report, you can follow SAP note: 1690023 - Portal Activity Report - Component-specific Note
Some basic checks that you can do:
Run query on the raw data tables to check since when there is data in those tables:
select min(timestamphour) from SAP<SystemID>DB.WCR_WEBCNODESTAT;
If there is too much data from long time ago, then you should delete the old data, and leave only the new data (there is anyways retention time for the data to be kept).
If there is no data, then it means that the Portal Activity Report does not collect data, and not really activated (usually this is not the case).
The aggregation runs every top of the hour, so you can check in the default traces for an error during that time.
In most of the cases something went wrong while aggregating the data.
As a result the aggregation is not finished, so the transaction is not being committed, and the aggregated tables stay empty.
If there is a DuplicateKeyException in the trace, you can follow SAP note 1054145 - Duplicate Key Exception.

How to extract data from PCD tables to create custom activity report

Hi Friends
I have a requiremnt for creating custom portal activity report, even though we have
standard report for that, we need to extract the data from the following pcd tables
WCR_USERSTAT, WCR_WEBCONTENTSTAT,WCR_USERFIRSTLOGON,
WCR_USERPAGEUSAGE.
This extraced data will be used to create BW Reports.
my questions are
1.How to extract the data from   pcd tables?
2.can i use   UME API   for extracting the data from the given PCD tables?
3.Can i querry   the PCD tables from JSPdynpage or Webdynpro APP?

Activity Data Collector (ADC) - Portal Activity Report Dependancy

Hello all,
I have configured the Activity Data Collector (ADC) and it is working as designed.
But when I stop the Portal Activity Report, the other activity reporting feature, the ADC stops working too.. Does anybody seen this behavior and know why this is happening? We want to get rid of the PA Report, because it seems to be bug-ridden.

Hi,
If you are considering switching to ADC, please remember that it is a little bit different kind of report. There is a SAP Note 1084379 - Portal Activity Report - Latest version (SDA file) that can help you to solve the Activity report bug problem. In case you willing to try ADC
    1.      Navigate to System Administration -> System Configuration -> Service Configuration.
    2.      In the Portal Catalog, navigate to the portal service at Applications -> com.sap.portal.activitydatacollector
             -> Services -> DataCollectionHook.
    3.      Right-click DataCollectionHook, and select Configure.
    4.      Set the property Activate Data Collector to true, after youu2019ve switch the Activity report to false of course.

Extracting/Uploading Portal Activity Data Collector data in BI for reports

Hello Experts,
I am looking for the approach where we can upload the data collected by portal activity data collector service into BI for generating report from BI. If anyone has done this before, what are your strategy in this case? I think Portal Activity Data Collector is more detailed over Portal Activity Reporting. Any thoughts on generating the custom reports?

Hello Ameya,
We are using Activity Reporting service for KM activity tracking and activity data collector for PCD access logs. What we do in our environment is , we have created a custom tablespace in our oracle DB of portal. We upload these logs to db using shell scripts (flat file format, later which is converted to a more maningful schema structure which can be queried upon). We have specific procedures in db for getting the required reports.
Another option would be to upload to solution manager where the reports can be generated using BI.
File formats of these Activity reports can be modified by configuration.

Showing Wrong Data in my Portal Activity Report.

I have created a Portal Activity Report which shows the
Details about the users who logged on.
Im trying to show the details of fixed period some what between 2008.for this I have given some fixed period date in the Reporting Period tab.
but the data which is showing on the report is of 2006 n 2007 data...im not getting the data of 2008...not even single record is of 2008.
I have checked with Data Collection Service Configuration setting...it is showing true thr...i tried with restarting that service also but there is no affect to report data...
What to do...plz help...

How do I report/analyze data from the KM activity reporting service

I have turned on the km activity reporting service and I am getting .txt files generated with the information I am looking for but now I'm looking for the best way to collect this data from all the server clusters and aggregate the data for easier data analysis. I have reviewed the 'how to analyze portal activity with the activity data collector' white paper. This leads me to believe that the only way to collect and analyze this data is to write a script that collects and analyzes the data. Is this true or is there a better way of gathering and reporting this data? Is this data stored in a table somewhere?

the portal only offers basic monitoring capabilities. But it offers the possibility to create quite extensive logs, like km activity reporting service. What the portal writes to a DB table are the PAR statistics. The quite more extensive KM and ADC data is written to a file.
You can use SolMan to analyze the data. SolMan can gather, analze and write the data into the BI and gives you the basic report.
In the same way, you can use SolMan to gather the data and create your own BI reports. As it can be really hard to collect X logs from Y servernodes, SolMan offers an easy way to collect the different logs.

How to execute the Portal Activity Report

In the System Administration -> System Configuration-> Service Configuration Editor
Under Applications->com.sap.portal.activityreport.core-> Services->ActivityReport and I have configured the report.
I saved I have restarted the service to effect the changes and in Portal Catalog
Application->com.sap.portal.activityreport.core and I have administrated the changes. The Application Details Editor is displayed.
I have clicked the Restart the portal also.
I would like to know how to execute this Portal Activity Report after making this configuration.
Can anyone help me.

here an example with steps:
1. Navigate to Content Administration -> Portal Content
2. Step into a test folder and right click on the folder to create a new iView
2. Select the template "Portal Activity Report iView"
   Name: Daily User Logins
   Technical Name: DailyUserLogins
3. Open the newly created iView and define the following parameters
   under "Specify report content"
      Start of Reporting: Date 01.01.2005 and Time: 08:00
      End of Reporting: Date 31.12.2005 and Time: 24:00
      Time Unit for Reporting: Daily
   under "Configure report options"
      Information to Report: Number of users logged on
You have created a new reporting iView, aggregating information about the number of anonymous and authenticated users on a daily basis.

Portal Activity Report -- Simplification?

Hi all,
 I've been working with the Portal Activity Report iView for a couple of weeks now trying to develop some metrics for our company to measure the portal usage by. I didn't have any problems with the user reports, but I had a lot of issues with the iview/page reports. Although I sucessfully found and charted the daily data, it took a painstakingly long time because of several factors:
 - There was so much data that I had to shift through for about 1.5 months, upwards of 11000 rows.
 - I did not need most of the data as this is the first report being generated for the company, they just want more general metrics rather than detailed metrics. However, the company may still want reports on the other data later on, so we can't just disable the collection of data on most of our iViews.
 - The format of the date column in the iView/Page report did not sort well in Excel. Instead, I had to convert the dates to the more traditional mm/dd/yyyy format so that they sorted properly. This didn't take too long, but it was still an issue.
 - Unfortunately, when the portal was deployed, and still now, we do not have naming conventions for our iViews. This resulted in there being many object names (column heading) that were the same even though they were different iViews and pages (for example, an "About" iView exists on many pages). The only way to differentiate them was based on the PCD location, which is very long and not the best way to have to look at and sort through data.
 - Lastly, we only collected data for iViews/Pages that got at least 2 hits. This was fine for iViews/Pages that usually got 10 or more hits per day. However, for iViews that didn't get 2 on any given day, no data was reported. This is what we intended, obviously. But it became a problem when I went to go graph the data because I was using line charts with multiple lines (series) on them (for example, I grouped all the different search iViews onto one line chart to compare which search pages are getting used the most). Here is an example graph that I had to create dates and 0's for because the bottom two series had days were missing some days because they got less than 2 hits: <a href="http://img509.imageshack.us/img509/7365/examplegraphvd8.jpg">Example Graph</a>. Some of the series wouldn't have the same number of points because there were some days that were missing because they got less than 2 hits. This meant I had to go back and manually add in rows of missing dates along with 0 hits to make the graph correct.
 So, now that I've detailed the problems and issues, here is my real problem going forward. The executives would like monthly reports on the portal. Ideally, this process would be as automatic as possible. I was hoping people could suggest best practices for gathering and sorting through the data so that it doesn't take anywhere near as much time to group and identify key iViews and pages. Is there any way to selectively download data about iViews/Pages without turning off the data collection on other iViews/Page? Also, is there any way to automate the downloading of the iView/Page and User reports from the portal given a time interval such as every 30 days? Has anyone else run into similar problems in their own positions and, if so, can you make suggestions about how you have improved the reporting and charting process? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Ariel,
Check the database table WCR_WEBCONTENTSTAT, and see if any data is being generated. This will determine if the problem is data generation or the reporting of the data.
If there is no data, the only possibility is that the Montiro Hits is false, but this is not the default and is unlikely.
If there is data, check the aggregationlevel field and the timestamp of the data, and create a report for this period and aggregation level. For example, if the aggregation level is "q" generate a quarterly report for the time period.

Problems with activity reports on Enterprise Portal

Hello, we have problems with activity reports on Enterprise Portal. It shows only zeros since certain date.
We have this error in monitoring of Activity Reports - Status of Activity Reporting: "The database contains non-aggregated data that is more than 2 hours old".
And we found this exception in logs: "Exception during a Prepared-statement DB update"
What could be a problem? What should we do?

           Do you have any idea about MIS report in SD module.actually my requirement is that
i have to generate daily cumulative report for contract. that means at time i am selecting ten plants
and correspondingly sum of total quantity,average rate and average weight of all the contracts for particular plant should be displayed in a column and various existing flavours should be displayed in a row.
for above requirement following output format is there:

To prepare daily production report in grade wise

Hi,
Need your help regarding grade wise Finish Goods. My finish goods product code is in database 1601001. When bulk receipt from production how to separate grade wise quantity.
Example:
My production order quantity is 100000 pcs and receipt from production in stock is 95000 pcs. Now in 95000 pcs, 75000 are grade u201CAu201D quality and rest of 20000 pcs are u201CBu201D quality.
There is any option that I can prepare daily production report in grade wise.

Go to Item master data whihc you want to maintain Gradewise.
In general tab you find Serial or Batch Number under which just select Batch and select on every transaction......
This will hjelp you to manage your inventory by Batches which you consider as grade......
