No Information (res+codec) shown at the Info Field

Hi out there,
yesterday I installed a new iMac for a fellow and was wondering why there is at the iMac more information readable than on my MacBookPro although they are both using 10.4.10 (finder: 10.4.7).
e.g. .mov files: cmd+I - Info - there I can find the file resolution and codec. So that would be great for me with tons of HD-Videoclips captured from my Canon HV-10. But I can´t find any different settings and already deleted finder-prefs - with no result.
In my finder at this Info-field I can only see the last opening date. So I mounted my hdd via cifs and afp to the iMac to find out if this is a behavior of these special files but heck - the iMac did show the correct and full information: resolution & codec
Any hint appreciated -
thanks - Chris

Make sure "Date Created" is check in your Finder View preference.
Try trashing your Finder preferences and reboot.

Hello, I have a charge on my Discover card for $116.86 and I do not know what it is for.  Can I get more information on it please.  The info in the statement is MHDBQJ1Z3G-0

Please be aware that you are not communicating with Apple when you post in these forums. These are user-to-user support forums, so in almost all cases the only people who will reply to your posts are, like me, your fellow users.
If it's a charge though your iTunes Store account, it should be reflected in your Purchase History:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4098
If the charges are not reflected in the Purchase History, then it's most likely a fraudulent charge to your credit card directly or your credit card number has been stolen and used by someone else in another iTunes Store account rather than an unauthorized purchase through your account. In either case it will be up to your bank to handle.

  • Additional information is being added to the description field in iPhoto

    Hi all
I have an Events file in iPhoto for Aircraft I have taken photographs of.   They are stored in 'registration order - ( eg. A-ABCD - Z-EFGH, etc.)    To each photograph I have added a description in the 'description field ' which includes make, model, construction number, owner and where seen including flight information.    When I had about 200 photographs I noted information from one photograph had been added to many of the others.    In due course I deleted the additional information,  leaving just the information I originally entered.   Now I have over 900 photographs and this problem has arisen again.   On many of the photographs information added to a particular aircraft has been added to many of the others - added not over written.   In some instances information from two aircraft has been added.
Obviously I can go through each photograph and delete the additional information but this will take time.   Can anyone offer advice as to why this is happening and how can I ensure it does not repeat again.   I have many more photographs to add to the Aircraft folder but I am reluctant to do so until I can prevent recurrence.
    TIA
    Regards
    Bill

    I would try rebuild iPhoto.
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • How can I change the time of photos in info in iPhoto for iOS. I've done it in iPhoto for Mac but when I sync to my ipad the info field goes back to the camera time ignoring "modify original files" in iPhoto for Mac?

I used "adjust date and time" and"modify original files" to correct the time of photos taken on a camera used in Peru which was set to UK rather than local time. which is 6 hours  behind. This was to bring them into line with shots taken with other cameras set to local time. This was using iphoto 08 on a Mac. I then synced to my iPad. The photos stayed in the correct order in photos but in iphoto (iOS version) the original dates appear (the camera dates) and so the photos are out of chronological order again. This looks like a bug but is there a fix?

don't know what you mean by "write to master" but speculate that it means modify the original times, in which case the taken times on the camera should no longer be present
No,I meant your using the option "modify original files" will do exactly that - change the capture date original master files stored in the iPhoto library. Only when you do that, the "date modified" of your original files will be changed as well, and it will now be the date of your manipulation of the capture date.
Oh - I hadnt considered that possibility - but of that were the case, why don't my manipulated photos go to the end of the sequence as I have done all the manipulation after the end of the holiday??
In photos the synced album maintains the chronological order which I set up on the mac by modifying the originals, as you said,
That is what the linked article is describing: "some apps may sort your photos in the order you specify in the app (such as iPhoto or Aperture"
The problem I have is that, in the album, iphoto (ipad) sorts them differently to both iphoto (Mac) and the photos tab on the ipad
In addition to albums and events, synced photos appear in a unified category called Photo Library (on iPad, this is the Photos tab). Photos are not duplicated. This category will also sort photos in ascending order by the date modified.
"on ipad this is the Photos tab" - but this displays as per the original sequence ignoring time adjustments - the manipulations seem to be ignored (but are reflected in the album in the photos tab) and the photos tahat have been modified stay in their original positiom - they don't get put the end
Because the library uses a different date - the date modified - the date of the last time the file has been changed in any way - any editing you do to your image, including adjust date and time will change the "date modified"
This may change the sorting of the database but it appears not to influence the order in the albums
In addition to albums and events, synced photos appear in a unified category called Photo Library (on iPad, this is the Photos tab). Photos are not duplicated. This category will also sort photos in ascending order by the date modified.
So how can i get my photos in date and time order in an album in iphoto for ipad?
    Thanks for your help

  • Why am I having to re-enter my registration information each time I open the application?

    Hi All,
I purchased Apeture with my Macbook three years ago and have just recently decided to utilize it. EVERY time I open the program I'm prompted to enter my registration information. I'm entering the info each time, but would love not to! (I registered the product in an attempt to make the dialog box go away to no avail.) Any ideas?

First of all, are you using an administrator account, when you are entering the serial number? Aperture needs to write the information to the system library, not the user library. Try to log in from an admin account while entering the serial number. If that does not help,  you may have a corrupted "ProAppSystemID" file or Aperture cannot write to the System Library.
First check, if you still have an old file "ProAppSystemID" in your System Library.
    Quit Aperture.
Go to your MacintoshHD and open the folder "Library", then "Application Support", then "ProApps".
Remove the File "ProAppsSystemID" to the Desktop, if it exist and restart Aperture.
Reenter your serial number, hopefully for the last time.
Sometimes Aperture writes this file to a temporary directory, when it cannot write to the Library. If the above does not work, look at the temporary directory /tmp
    Use the Finder's "Go" menu
Go > Got to folder    and  enter /tmp into the textfield. If you see the file there, move it to its proper location.
Check the permission on the folder "Library", then "Application Support", then "ProApps". You (as admin) need to have read/write access to all flders along the path.

  • Books: Sorting PDF's / Using info fields with PDF's

Since it is possible to manage PDF's in iTunes, I've been importing quite a few (well, just drag and drop). So far, I just changed the Name field to the title of the article or book, the Artist field to the authors name, and picked an appropriate genre.
Since the info fields aren't really made for books and articles, I'm wondering which fields to use for publisher and series information.
    Anybody experimented with this already?

You may try the VBScript in that discussion:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/3796931#3796931
If it works change your *.net script to that.
If it not work try to get another one to test it on Acrobat X.
Should be simple because VBS run's on every Win-PC.

  • Info Field does not work

    Hi Experts,
I would like to display the "last update" information for certain InfoProviders within a BEx Web Template. If I add the web item "Info Field" and save the web template, the icon of the web item is being displayed within the designer. When executing the template the web item is being "deleted" automatically and nothing is being displayed within the portal. Any clues on that? Is this a known bug in WAD?
    Many thanks in advance.
    Best regards
    Tobias

    Hi,
Info field only displays about the Global filters, Local filters and Variables. When you assign the info field in the template you need to give the data provider to that webitem otherwise you will not get any data when you execute your template.
Use text web item, You have several options available such as last refreshed, executed by, changed by, last data upload and so on.
    Thanks

  • Why an email address not show in the Bcc field in Send Items folder?

    Hi,
My user use Office 2007 and Exchange 2008. She sent an email which Bcced to 4 people for example A, B, C and D. However when she opens this email in her Send Items folder within Outlook, it only shows A, B and C in the Bcc field, but if she opens this email
in OWA, she can see 4 people in the Bcc field. It is the exact the same email. Outlook is in online mode (not cashed mode). I don't understand what could be the problem. Why D isn't shown in the Bcc field within Outlook?
    Please advise!
    Thanks in advance!
    Grace

    Hi,
Since it's a Client-only issue, we can try starting Outlook in Safe Mode to determine if it's 3rd-party add-ins related:
Press Win + R and type “outlook.exe /safe” in the blank box, then press Enter.
If there’s no problem in Safe Mode, disable the suspicious add-ins to verify which add-ins caused this issue.
I suppose the recipient D is not listed in the mail Filter lists?
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-001/outlook-help/add-names-to-the-junk-e-mail-filter-lists-HA001230163.aspx
You can also test if this problem exists when you switch to Exchange Cached mode.

  • Update of ARD "Info" Field  w/ Serial#

Trolling through the forums I was able to find a true ARD gem. Placing the Serial # of a machine into one the the info fields of the sharing console.
Below is a code snippet from Joel. D. Reid which is excellent on the 10.5.8 machines, but does not run on 10.4.11 (tiger) Can anyone offer a 10.4.11 solution that is similar?
    /System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/Resources/ki ckstart -configure -computerinfo -set2 -2 "$(system_profiler SPHardwareDataType | awk '/Serial Number/{print $NF}')" && sleep 2 && /System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/Resources/k ickstart -restart -agent -console ;
Any help would be much appreciated.

Just have a couple thoughts. I've had better luck with using kickstart proper than defaults for changing ard info fields and actually having the agent recognize the change. Also, if you're able to get it to update via kickstart, you could just append that to your script. I routinely send the following via Send UNIX Command as root for at-a-glance access to the serial number:
    /System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/Resources/ki ckstart -configure -computerinfo -set2 -2 "$(system_profiler SPHardwareDataType | awk '/Serial Number/{print $NF}')" && sleep 2 && /System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/Resources/k ickstart -restart -agent -console ;
The 'sleep 2' was tacked in as sometimes kickstart apparently exits before it's actually done. The consecutive commands are appended using && rather than ; so the agent restart step isn't done unless the -setX -X one succeeds. Also note that if all works as planned, the ARD task never actually finishes as you're interrupting the remote ARD agent mid-stream; just wait for the clients to all return "Starting..." twice and then hit stop on that active task.
In any case, you can change the -set2 -2 to choose an info field, then substitute in your Foo commands in place of "$(system_profiler SPHardwareDataType | awk '/Serial Number/{print $NF}')"
Hope that helps some. Let us know how you've made out.
    Cheers, Joel

  • Can the reset field button be moved or disabled?

I have adobe reader for ios7 and the reset field button is very easy to hit by accident. You lose all of your information and it is extremely frustrating! If it cannot be moved or disabled can you at least make it so you are prompted for a verification before it wipes out ALL of your information!

Yes.  For the "Reset Field" button in the toolbar above the soft keyboard, we are planning to add a confirmation dialog ("Are you sure...?") in a future release, which should prevent users from accidentally resetting/clearing data in a field.
Please note that if a "Reset" or "Clear" button is embedded in a PDF form, it's a responsibility of the author of the PDF form to add a prompt for users.
    Thank you for the feedback.

  • Codec information in the info window or anywhere in Premiere Pro?

    Hi all,
I'm very new to Adobe Premiere Pro so pardon the newly question.  I of course come from the Final Cut Pro world.
So one of the things I didn't get was the level of information provided in the various info panels.  I noticed that neither the file properties or info panels, display what kind of codec a particular video is when it's in the project.  Lets say I had some XDCAM files and some ProRes files that i've imported, and I look at the info on the files either through right clicking and selecting properties or selecting the file and then going to the info panel, it doesn't ever display the actual codec in which the video is in.  It usually says something like MPEG movie or Quicktime Movie, but it won't get more detailed like it's a "ProRes 422 file" or something like that.
Is there any place in Premiere where this information can be displayed?  That's something that I did like about FCP, is it's transparent display of file attributes and how specific it gets down to what codec the file is encoded in, etc.
There's got to be a place in Premiere that has that info, no?  Please advise.
    Thanks!!

From what I understand, QT is now 64-bit native, so I'm not sure that would be the issue.
QuickTime X is 64-bit, but that's a completely different application and architecture than QuickTime 7, which is only 32-bit. Premiere Pro uses QuickTime 7 exclusively for QuickTime import/export support, since QuickTime X a) doesn't do everything QuickTime 7 does and b) is only available on the Mac.
Premiere Pro is not a QuickTime based application, the way that FCP 7 was (I think FCP X is a completely different animal, all the way). In many respects, QT is a bolt-on in Premiere Pro, but that's by necessity rather than by design. The QT32 Server application that Todd referenced is a result of this necessity; Apple didn't make it easy for other application authors to integrate QT into their applications, so Adobe had to do the next best thing. Not including QuickTime support of any sort in Premiere Pro CS5 and beyond, once the application went 64-bit, would have been an unacceptable end for many shops and editors who use QuickTime in their workflows. This comes at certain expenses, but there's only so much Adobe could do with the limitations of the QuickTime 32-bit architecture.
That said, Adobe has done a lot with many types of QuickTime files that completely circumvent the 32-bit QuickTime process, and allows Premiere Pro to natively and directly support certain MOV flavors. For example, Canon DSLR QuickTime MOVs are handled by Premiere Pro's MPEG importer (that's why they show up as MPEG Movie in Properties), as are DV/DVCPRO50/DVCPRO HD MOVs and JVC XDCAM EX MOVs. There are several other examples as well, but the end result is the same: you don't even need QuickTime 7 installed (on Windows or Mac) to import these files and they're always handled with a 64-bit importer. That's a pretty major workflow and performance enhancement, and I think goes a long way to suggest Adobe's commitment to handling as many media types natively and as robustly as possible.
Ultimately, I think that once Apple discontinues QuickTime 7, we'll be at a crossroads. Adobe appears to be trying to support as many different QuickTime codec flavors natively as they can, but that's a long list, and there are only so many that are viable to develop and maintain support of in the future. What that means for the formats and codecs you need for your workflows, I couldn't say, but definitely use that feature request form (when it works!) to add your voice to the conversation.

  • When I right clock on a song from my library and I click on Obtain information, I can't make changes on the infos, Everything is wriiten in pale letters. Olease help. Thank you.

Can anyone help me withis. When I right click on a song from my library and I click on Obtain information, I can't make changes on the infos, Everything is written in pale letters.  Thank you.

    Short answer:
Click Hide Song(s), it is what you wanted to do...
    Long answer:
iTunes in the Cloud is a feature of your iTunes store account that allows you to redownload or stream your past purchases. When you delete a purchased track that is downloaded to your computer (like the first one shown here) you are asked if you also want to hide the song from iCloud. This would remove it from the computer and also stop it showing up with the iCloud symbol as the other tracks from that album (which are not downloaded) do.
If a track shows with the cloud symbol you can play (stream) it by double-clicking the title, or click the cloud symbol to download a local copy to your library. If you try to delete one of these tracks you get a slightly different message confirming that you want to hide the track. Clicking hide will remove the listing from the library and any other device that shows your past purchases.
Should you want to retrieve any item hidden in this way at a later date use Store > View My Account > iTunes in the Cloud > Hidden Purchases > Manage.
To hide all your previous purchases that are not downloaded to your computer use Edit > Preferences > Store and untick Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases.

I create my apple id from my boyfriend macbook and its says that I have to review my itunes information , when I get to the credit card number info etc. Its keep asking me for that I dont have any credit card and I dont want to put any , what should I do?

You cannot use that ID without a credit card. You did not create your account correctly. There is very specific way in which you must create your account if you do not want to use a credit card. If you don't have a credit card, you will have to start all over again.
    1. You will have to sign out of that ID before you can create a new one. Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID>Sign out.
    2. You cannot use the email address that you used for the first ID that you created. You will need to use another email address now
    3. You have to download a free app in order to start the new Apple ID process.

The Finder reports File information. The date and time of the photo are in the Photo's Exif metadata. The Finder has no awareness of this. All photos apps on any system do.
