No JRMC found in JRockit R27.2.0-jdk1.5.0_10 / bin
Hi
I want to do JRA recording to check memory usage.
WLS 9.2
Oracle Solaris on SPARC (32-bit)
but when I open :-
R27.2.0-jdk1.5.0_10 /bin there no jrmc file to start JRA recording.
Is there any other way to do JRA recording ?
below is the folder structure :-

WLS : 9.2
Platform : Solaris is 32 bit.
Is the case that with JRockit jdk1.5.0_10 (Release R27.2) JRockit Mission Control is not supported?JRMC works. But there is no JRMC GUI application for Solaries (because the Eclipse RCP libraries are unavailable on that platform). You can enable the JRMC server on the Solaris machine (start JRockit with the appropriate -Xmanagement flag) and connect remotely from a Windows or Linux desktop.
When checked with supported configuration could see JRockit Mission Control 3.1.0 is for Solaris 64 bit.Yes. JRockit JVM including JRMC server. No JRMC GUI.

Thanks,
JeffWLS 10.3 and above require Java 1.6, and certain versions. It's recommend that you use one of the JVM's installed with the product. For 10.3, I think that is jdk160_05.

Jrockit-R27.3.1-jdk1.4.2_14 AND GCHandlesCompaction
Hi All,
I am using the above version of JRockit. I am not sure if this is a bug but when I start my managed server from the admin console, it does not set the GCHandlesCompaction to true
-Xmx:512m -Xms:512m -Xns:128m -XXtlasize:fixed=12k -Xverbose:memory,memdbg,gcpause,gcreport -Xmanagement:port=7777 -XgcPrio:pausetime -XpauseTarget=200 -XgcPause -XgcReport -Xverboselog:verbose-jrockit.log
unless I start it using the -server option in the Remote Start like this
-server -Xmx:512m -Xms:512m -Xns:128m -XXtlasize:fixed=12k -Xverbose:memory,memdbg,gcpause,gcreport -Xmanagement:port=7777 -XgcPrio:pausetime -XpauseTarget=200 -XgcPause -XgcReport -Xverboselog:verbose-jrockit.log
Can anyone tell me if this is the expected behaviourHi,
there is an issue after i migrated from jrockit 1.4.2_08 to
jrockit-R27.3.1-jdk1.4.2_14 which is related to the TimeZone, its reporting different TimeZone and not able to fetch the local time zone.
After running tzinfo please find the result:
Tzinfo version:
java version "1.4.2_14"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.2_14-b05)
BEA JRockit(R) (build R27.3.1-1-85830-1.4.2_14-20070716-1248-windows-ia32, compiled mode)
Time zone data version: tzdata2007a
Though i am based out of India, the timezone it reports as:
Europe/Riga
Europe/Rome
Europe/Samara
Default ->sun.util.calendar.ZoneInfo[id="GMT+05:30",offset=19800000,dstSavings=0,useDaylight=false,transitions=0,lastRule=null]
sun.util.calendar.ZoneInfo[id="Europe/Riga",offset=7200000,dstSavings=3600000,useDaylight=true,transitions=126,lastRule=java.util.SimpleTimeZone[id=Europe/Riga,offset=7200000,dstSavings=3600000,useDaylight=true,startYear=0,startMode=2,startMonth=2,startDay=-1,startDayOfWeek=1,startTime=3600000,startTimeMode=2,endMode=2,endMonth=9,endDay=-1,endDayOfWeek=1,endTime=3600000,endTimeMode=2]]
could you please help me whats causing this issue. -

Regards.,
LJHi Laszlo,
do you have this problem only with R27.1, or with the previuos releases of
JRockit? Do you have a reproducer?

We have a crash with the Jrockit 1.5 R27.5 after a few minutes. The crash disappear when using -Xnoopt on the command line.
The optimizing compiler should be fixed.

===== END DUMP ===============================================================Hi,
As you point out, this looks like a problem with the JRockit code optimizer. The JVM has tried to optimize fr/pagesjaunes/commun/base/impl/SBInscriptionPubliciteImpl.processModuleRappelGratuit and crashed somewhere in the middle of optimization.
Is it possible for you to provide us with a reproducer (or reproduction instructions, download site etc) for this problem?
Regards,
Henrik
JRockit codegen team -
Our app runs fine under the latest R26 build, but after an hour or so crashes out under R27. I'm going to try and turn off pointer compression as we saw dumps with R26 when that was turned on. I'll let you know if it helps.
I have three dumps and a core file:
[url http://offermatica.cachefly.net/jrockit/jrockit.1048.dump]
[url http://offermatica.cachefly.net/jrockit/jrockit.1209.dump]
[url http://offermatica.cachefly.net/jrockit/jrockit.3627.dump]
[url http://offermatica.cachefly.net/jrockit/core.1048.gz]
Here is the text of the first dump:

===== END DUMP ===============================================================Hi Allen,
If you have a support contract, I think you should open a ticket with BEA on this. If not:
1) Try the x86 version of R27.1.0.
2) Try different GC algorithms (-Xgc:parallel, -Xgc:singlecon).
3) Disable optimizations using -Xnoopt
And let us know the result. Or if possible - package up the app and send us a copy...

ANNOUNCE: JRockit R27.1 and JRockit Mission Control 2.0 released!
New versions of JRockit and JRockit Mission Control are now available!
The following new products have been released:
- JRockit 1.4.2 R27.1
- JRockit 5.0 R27.1
- JRockit 6 R27.1 TECHNOLOGY PREVIEW
- JRockit Mission Control 2.0
JROCKIT R27.1
=============
The JRockit release is a major update from the previous version (R26.4) and includes a large set of enhancements including:
- A completely new version of JRockit Mission Control (see separate section below)
- Improved Monitoring and Diagnostics features
- Improved Supportability features
- Connect-on-Demand capability for JVMTI and JMX (JRockit 5.0 and 6)
- A new "Diagnostics Guide" with troubleshooting and performance tuning tips
- Full support for IPv6 on all platforms
- Expanded support for Solaris/SPARC
- Enhanced performance
The 1.4.2 and 5.0 versions of JRockit R27.1 are based on Sun 1.4.2_12 and 1.5.0_08 respectively, and contain all enhancements and fixes made to the Java class libraries from those Sun releases.
JRockit 6 R27.1 is a tech preview based on 1.6.0-rc-b97 from Sun. The public GA of JRockit 6 is expected to be in the first half of 2007, and will bring a larger set of performance enhancements. For feedback on this release, please use our user forums at forums.bea.com/bea/forum.jspa?forumID=2009.
The connect-on-demand capabilities in JRockit 5.0 and 6 are similar to those provided in Sun Java SE 6 and enable developers to connect to locally running JRockit processes without being forced to start JRockit with specific command line options. For JMX there is also an autodiscovery mechanism for remote connections which is very useful in development environments.
For Solaris/SPARC we have added a JRockit 1.4.2 version, which in internal measurements has shown to be very competetive to Sun's 1.4.2 implementation on Solaris/SPARC. Definitely worth checking out! (Note: WLS 8.1 does not officially support running on this JRockit version.)
On the performance side, there are enhancements for WLS applications (10-15%), memory-intensive applications (10-15%) and improved out-of-the-box performance (up to 25%), all based on internal measurements.

JROCKIT MISSION CONTROL 2.0
===========================
Together with JRockit R27.1 we are releasing a completely new version of JRockit Mission Control. The separate tools in JMC 1.0 have been integrated into one single GUI based on Eclipse RCP, which means that any user of the Eclipse IDE should feel at home. All tools features from Mission Control 1.0 are of course still available, and we continue our drive towards exposing all data about your Java application that JRockit has access to. You will also find a large set of usability improvements, including:
- Drag-and-drop support
- Configurable views
- Online and (for the Runtime Analyzer) context-sensitive help
- Connect-on-demand to local JVMs and autodiscover remote JVMs
One particular area of interest is GC profiling, where much more detailed metrics are available, which can help drill down into the causes for long GC pause times and spikes.
Release notes:
http://edocs.bea.com/jrockit/tools/relnotestools/relnotestools2.html
There is no separate download for JRockit Mission Control, instead it is included in the JRockit R27.1 JDK downloads for Windows and Linux/x86. To start using the tools, install JRockit and select JRockit Mission Control from the Windows Start menu, or launch the $JROCKIT_HOME/bin/jrmc executable.
Documentation is bundled with the installation and available from the Help menu.
If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please visit our user forums at forums.bea.com/bea/forum.jspa?forumID=2009.
Happy holidays!

Product ManagerHi,
I have tried and installed the version R27.1.0-109-73164-1.5.0_08-20061129-1415-linux-x86_64 on our 16GB RAM
with 4 dual-core Opteron processor.
JAVA_OPTS="-server -Xms800M -Xmx4000M -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true -Xpausetarget=2500ms -Xverboselog:/var/log/javavm.log -Xverbose:gc,memory -Xverbosetimestamp -Xgcpause -Xgcreport -Xstrictfp -XXexitOnOutOfMemory -XXdumpFullState -XXstaticCompaction -XXcompactRatio:10 "
After 5 secs of jvm startup I receive the follwing trace (without any DUMP-file):
java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: class allocation JVM@check_alloc (src/jvm/model/classload/classalloc.c:1

JRockit aborted: Out of memory (68)
Failed to acquire native memory. Try reducing Java heap size using -Xmx:<size> (i.e "-Xmx16m")
If I change the -Xmx parameter from -Xmx4000M to -Xmx3000M
than it didn't work, but
if I change the -Xmx parameter from -Xmx4000M to -Xmx2900M
than it works.
(The hint to change -Xmx to -Xmx16m is great on a 16GB RAM machine,.. :-) )
Any ideas?
How can I use 4GB java-heap ?
Greetings Martin -
How to download jrockit R27.6.3?
Hi,
Can any one tell me where I can download jrockit R27.6.3? as the application that we are installing only works with that version. And the current avaialble download is for R28.
Thanks,
LeiHi,
As I stated above - You need a valid Oracle support contract that covers the JRockit JVM for Java 6 to be able to download it.
Edited by: Tomas Nilsson on May 7, 2009 12:05 AM -
Where I can find download site with versions older then JRockit R27.6 ?
I am searching for sites where I can download the older versions of JRockit R27.6
Please call your support contact! If you don't have a direct number call the support office in your country http://www.oracle.com/support/contact.html.

Pending Exception:
Both crashes are repeatable. Has anyone run JRuby on JRockit 1.5 any release?
Thanks for the help.
EricHi Eric,
Thanks for reporting these problems. We are aware of them and will work on a fix as well as include JRuby in our testing for future releases.
Sorry for this,
/Staffan -
Where can I find trhe download for jrockit R27.5 1.4.2_15
I have downloaded what is labe;led as 1.4.2_15 but it is actually 1.4.2_16. Where can I find the correct installer for 1.4.2_15
Thank you,
RalphJDK 1.4.2_15 was included in JRockit R27.4. This is a very old BEA release, but not to worry - support can still help you get access to such old releases!
What's the reason for wanting to use 1.4.2_15? Just curious... :-)
Best Regards,
Tuva
JRockit PM -
Does the JRockit EM64T R27.3.1.x (64bit) release not come with Mission Control? I have it in our 32-bit R273.1.x release but not in the 64bit version.
Edited by jfsnow923 at 10/05/2007 7:29 AMThe JRMC GUI is only bundled with the 32-bit JDKs for Windows and Linux, plus the 64-bit JDK for Linux EM64T. The reason for this is that it is built on the Eclipse RCP, and that toolkit is not available in a stable version for 64-bit Windows EM64T.
The server side portion of JRMC is built into JRockit, so you can use the GUI from a 32-bit JRockit JDK to connect to any version of JRockit on any platform.

JRockit R27.1.0 Core Dumps
We recently upgraded to the following version of JRockit:
java version "1.4.2_12"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.2_12-b03)
BEA JRockit(R) (build R27.1.0-109-73164-1.4.2_12-20061129-1418-linux-ia32, compiled mode)
Since the upgrade, it has been core dumping intermittently. Looking at the dump, it seems to be related to Stack Overflows. However the stack dump does not seem deep enough to merit one. In an attempt to address we upped our Stack Size from -Xss256k to -Xss512k but it is still occurring.
Is this a known bug?
